dolphinheart: 1 Tim 3:16 “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”Please observe the bolded part of your post because my questions are coming from there. 1. Could you please before anything else, explain what the passage says? 2. Let me pretend to agree with you, could you please provide the 'original' manuscript so that myself and others would see how the KJV doctored 1 Tim 3:16. Thanks in anticipation. PS: Please answer the number one first before coming down to answer the second. |
dolphinheart:I'm open to learning here. Could you give instances of obvious manipulations from the KJV we can relate to? |
DoubleDeeX:Well said. Thanks for the input. |
dolphinheart:@ The bolded, I sincerely believes it holds no water. These other versions in question, were they able to give us something beyond the KJV by correcting these so-called errors and man made distortions? If yes, could you please name these versions so that I could possible look for one? |
asuustrike2009:It doesn't mean. He may be protecting his identity with this new account. |
ammyluv2002:Should have responded a long time ago. I apologise. One thing Christendom is known for is its liberal angle which gives many the grace to do the abominable under the guise of Christ and still get away with it. This explains why there are millions of Christian doctrines out there. And these doctrines explains why we have several versions of the Scripture. For example, the 'Good News Bible' contain some chapters that are not found in our everyday books. Several versions, several doctrines, several purposes. I'm not sure a body can successfully enforce a general law. It can't work. |
TheAgba:The issue is not whether the KJV is a saint or not. At least to an extent, the KJV contains what Christians need to draw closer to God and know the nature of God. The KJV did not deliberately manipulate the Scripture to achieve a specific purpose. While what I've posted is not to say all other versions are bad, a conscious and a sensitive believer would understand that some firm beliefs of the world, such as Sodomy and deliberate attempt to rubbish the Deity of Christ and His purpose is fast creeping into what Christians study, practice and live by. |

saintandsinnerz:I have reservations concerning Amaechi. I believe he is not clean and I believe the proper thing to do is to search him thoroughly. I like his person and his dogged nature but beyond that, nothing more. |
oluseyiforjesus:She's not even dying now. We need to recover a lot of things from her before then. Most importantly, mention names of co-thieves and looters who did many miraculous wonders with the nation's coffers. |
otimothy:Hehehehehe Quite obvious, she picked the wrong illness. Chemotherapy would sustain her for now. She can't escape this![]() Lalasticlala ![]() ![]() ![]() |

nedu2000:RIP to your dad. I guess that's the goal of the news, to show empathy towards her. It rarely works against Nigerians. We're soft when we want to be and hard when we choose to. Thank God she's in a country where cancer is so rampant like common fever. They'd still try her no matter what she claims she's suffering from. There's no escaping from this. I could remember Mama Peace sudden travel as well under the umbrella of being ill. These people are not in any way clean and they know this themselves. It's only Pa Chuks of Nairaland and some minions here that try making it look like vendetta. Call it witch-hunting. Why would anyone choose to be a witch when we're striving to make Nigeria well again? Ebola could be the only disease that would make the UK authorities run from her for a while but after 21 days of survival, that would mean she's immune to the virus, after which the case continues. |
otimothy:That she has cancer is not the issue. Thank God the news wasn't let out in Nigeria. She's in the UK where modern technologies are made available (according to Akpabio ).She knew she didn't have the liver to steal yet she delved into it and now cancer issues are coming up. Cancer is not the end of the world. It can be managed and early detection can go a long way in saving the victim's life. |
So because she has cancer we should let her be Did she come down with the cancer when she was stashing the country's treasury away? Did she come down with that cancer when Jonathan lost the election? Did she come down with that cancer when she wanted to buy the house at Hyde before she was apprehended?Cancer is not the ultimate. She will still serve her term if guilty, at most, special care would be provided for her. If it cannot be managed, let them severe the affected part. I don't pity people of her calibre. A one time god is now cancer-ridden. This piece is misleading! By 'rift' I'm sure Punch means 'that Dogara wanted the president to step into Saraki's trial and have the case buried. This was the norm a long time ago. It is non-existence in this administration. Saraki is innocent , and Nigerians would plead with the President that "rifts" between them be settled after his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. BUT for now, let him go and confront his fears alone. PMB would not be the Deus ex machina in Saraki's ordeal. |
DoubleDeeX:Amen. |
What will happen at the very end: Oliseh's brawl with Enyeama would be his undoing. The dressing room would be thorn and he'd keep on pretending nothing serious took place. Enyeama would be begged by the NFF or NFA and notable Sports Journalists, the likes of Mitchell Obi, Aisha Falode and co... And then he'd return but then Oliseh would have been fired. Oliseh is temperamental. Anyone who watched him play back then would know this. Tyranny and iron hand is not enough to impact and heighten the mindset of footballers. Ask Mourinho this and he'd tell you. |
Instead of doing just that, Diezani went to court and found a Judge willing enough to issue an injunction that prevented the Legislators from looking any closer at her apparently oily hands. The same rubbish Saraki tried here. I don't know who counsel this people to fidget like thieves before a competent court calls them one. By the way, the e-mail address suggests this piece was written by demdem. I hope I'm right ![]() The South-South sons have overtime championed the bally-UK life than other politicians in the country. They steal like they've never seen money before till they're caught and they're very easy to investigate because they don't think. Chief Onanefe Ibori was not only a dummy but a lousy politician who was sure his affluence could get him out of any face-off with the law. The Nigeria justice system CAN NEVER try our politicians because they are not only corrupt but weak and lack the will to do such. What matters most is getting the President to liaise with the British government in order to return our scattered loots in the UK. Let the monies be returned first, the landed properties, only God knows how they'll do them. |
warrior01:Prophet warrior, since you can tell his inevitable end, please amuse me and other curious Nairalanders what awaits him. And in what sense did he betray his people. Did he leave Rivers a PDP politician only to return and APC man Please enlighten me on this. Perhaps you're referring to the downfall of Jonathan Amaechi may have championed the cause but he didn't do it alone. Frustrated Nigerians joined him to kick Jonathan and Patience out![]() ![]() |
gladiolus:Amen, you too bro ![]() |
gladiolus:The Gospel truth is this, there would be wailings on Tuesday when Amaechi stands before the Senate. He'll be mocked even but he'll eventually be allowed, not because "he is clean" but because the petitions coming in now are late. Wike was clearly sleeping before now. Like many here, he was sure Amaechi will not be considered. The president has chosen. If Amaechi has the tendency to outperform a/the previous minister in the capacity he'll function in, then no problem. He should go on ahead. |
warrior01:Truth be told, I'm indifferent about Amaechi being on the list, as long as Fayemi and Fashola are there. However, the many political errors cum shallow permutations wailers put up on this forum has left the likes of me not only to admire Amaechi but to love him. You all predicted his end against Jonathan but reverse was the case. He championed the downfall of Jonathan. Seeing that's not enough, you all took solace in telling yourselves that he won't be recognized under a tribalistic president, again, reverse is the case. Amaechi has been around, noticed and visible like a 64 inches LG television around the president. "Amaechi won't make the cut", he did and now you're all perplexed. "Amaechi would never become a minister", we're still on that and we know how it would end. I have heard and seen cries/wailings with moves/actions, una own na lie. You all come to Nairaland to make yourself feel good when in reality you cannot argue or protest Amaechi's case from your living room to the entrance of your street/avenue or wherever. Cowards only quake and hide when they have erred. Amaechi is one, if not THE toughest politicians I have seen in Nigeria. Give it to him, abeg! |
Somebody please tell me I'm not the only one seeing the ML, Goodswill Akpabio in the last picture! |
The president is always seen laughing really hard with people in some of his pictures. A man who admonished that no Nigerian should fear him, it's quite amazing how he ends up having a field day among his many political "frienemies". The meeting concludes the decision of the Senate. God keep, protect and bless PMB/VPYO ![]() |
Care to share? Is your claim based on personal encounter with him or some of his pastors? Kindly share please. |
maxiuc:Elijah and Elisha were irrational folks. They had the power at their disposal and ran riot with it. There were better ways to have approached the issue they met then but no they chose to wreck havoc. That is not a true representation of a prophet. Sorry. |
KeriBaby:Hehehehehehe I tell you! I read all comments from start to end. Very funny stories... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Wailers are not taking this issue too well. Ghana, Togo, Cameroon and Benin Republic is not far. After all, diaspora is diaspora ![]() |
