This ad was a response to Fayose's. He outlined why people should vote for PDP, ad it centered on Buhari and APC. Not because the president is from SS and Buhari is from NW.
Yorubas are quick to go tribal. That's just regressive.

There is the add. I was utterly disgusted when GEJ campaigned in Enugu. He was quick to point out the fact that 'they' jailed Igbos. He went on to mention Alex Ekwueme, Jim Nwobodo and some others. In a bid to justify that the Igbos didn't steal much, the President birthed the infamous grammatical blunder cum public support for corruption; "How much did Jim Nwobodo stole?" I respect every tribe, religion and culture, both great and small but the president's desperation is way too shocking that he does not care if the country rents into several parts. Worst of all, he has used churches and religion to further fuel his desperation. I'm not driven by ethno-religious sentiments and the same shoulld be for every sane Nigerian. I know it is impossible at this point to do away with these damaging sentiments and the best we can do is to vote forr someone truly deserving. PEJ has been lashing out at Northerners of late. She did so while she was in the SS and also stated that people should not vote Buhari he treated their fore-fathers unfairly. The Ebeles, as a family, have damaged the reputation of the country and Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor have been useful in doing this. Fr Mbaka is not left out. I frown at this ad because I see no reason why we should constantly remind ourselves that we're not one. GEJ is my person but he will never get my vote. Not in this life and not in the next.

Unite Nigerians for buhari and osinbanjo. This country has no direction. The foundation is faulty. I look forward to a Nigeria where roads will not be used for campaigning, electricity will not be used for campaigning. This things should be normal to have and better issues should be used for campaigning
Again, you have spoken my mind without mincing words. The day we stop campaign with stable electricity, and good roads is the day we get things right. The thousand lies of guising under infrastructural/basic rights as achievements is the day our democracy becomes meaningful. The sharing of monies, bags of rice, beans, semolina, garri, umbrella, t-shirts and other irrelevant things would be meaningless if indeed the government of the day represent the people fully.

I was a Christian for 15 years you know, you cannot twist this one abeg.

( James 1:1) This letter is from James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am writing to the "twelve tribes"--Jewish believers scattered abroad. Greetings!
Funny, then I guess the 15 years were not given to study. Lemme help;
1. 1 John 3:1 - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2. John 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:

3. Galatians 3:26 - For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

4. I John 3:10 - So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God. (NIV)

5. I John 3:2 - Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is (NIV) (One of my favourite part of the Scripture).

6. 2 Samuel 7:14 - I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men (Guess who the speaker is).

7. Romans 8:12-25 - So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

8. Romans 9:6-8 - But it is not as though the word of God has failed For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; nor are they all children because they are Abraham's descendants, but: "THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED." That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants..

9. Ephesians 1:5 - He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will.

10. Revelation 21:7 - He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.

God did NOT use the word "SLAVE" to describe His own. Kindly reply by giving me four more references saying Christians are slaves of God.

Shalom!

I have seen that the main reason why South Westerners and Northerners are supporting APC is because of the political position their brothers and sisters will attain, not because GMB and Osinbanjo will perform.
To all South Southerners and South Easterners who are supporting APC, I pity you all. Theya Northerners and Southerners are deceiving you by accusing GEJ of corruption and incompetent, but they are most most corrupt and tribalist I have ever seen. Think twice before you put yourselves in political bondage.
In as much as I hate the tribal game. Kindly remind me why the Igbos are sticking to GEJ again undecided. Is it because he has indeed performed or that the Igbos feel it's best they align with someone from the SS? GEJ pronounced this along this line than any democratic president and he should as well dance to the tune. If the Igbos would want to stick to GEJ because the SS is a bit close to the SE, no problem. If Northerners would want to vote GMB because he is one of there own, then so be it. And if the Yorubas would want to vote APC because of Osinbajo, the SS, NC et al and the SE have all laid examples for the Yorubas to follow. I'm a son of the SS and I'm voting GMB because I believe in performance over squishy sentiments. Lobatan!

I think it's hurtful when guys place emphasis on the physical than what is on the inside.

Guys who exhibit this act have the tendency to exhibit shallow-mindedness when the person they 'love' changes physically. For me, the physique is only a PLUS and never a necessity. For instance, what becomes of a guy who marries and loves a girl because she's spotless, only to see that the lady has chicken pox few months into the marriage and in turn the pox leaves her with spots all over. Would he still love her?

How about the case of a guy who loves a lady because she has the figure of a model only to see the same lady add weight after the pregnancy of their first child? Would he 'cope' all through the 9months or dissolve the marriage. ?

For thoughtful guys, it is never about what you possess on the outside because we understand that it is fleeting; the body cannot maintain its shape for ever. I didn't say the shape is bad though, just that it shouldn't be the reason for loving someone.

A man who says he no longer finds the wife attractive will obviously not grow old with such woman. He'll look elsewhere when time tells on the woman.

It should be about what she possess on the inside; the brains, the character, her patience etc, this defines a lady. The size of lady does not determine how attractive she looks. Again, the size, shape, etc are only a plus, nothing more. grin grin grin

AGAIN…
… About their lies and vain promises…

I
His words bloated my ears,
Like a blob of hope
It stilled my fears…
For the first time in years,
Aspirations bathe me a-smear.
His words resound,
The thumping of my heart abound.
I am a fool! I have lost all!
I can almost hear his call,
His so-called true patriotic call,
Persuading to let go of my all.
… Now it is too late to bicker,
As my body burns with fever.
‘I went to schools with no shoes!’ He cried,
‘Of course, this must be him’ I sighed.
Failing to hint Him above for a sign.
To the truth I thought he’ll bind.

Of the south-south region I came.
Where nature give earth’s full gain.
Oh! And of course, from there he came,
And of a truth, not the slightest
Hint that he’ll bring me pain.
… And now my heart hurts,
Like a fiery flame, deep within it burns.
A moonslide, seaslide, landslide
Victory it was,
When his hands were raised in victory of course.

II
Up afar north, they waged wars,
Bloodcurdling, ‘brothers-in-loss’
‘Good’ paid no attention to this,
But gave what seems a-bliss.

III
On the first day, of the first month, of the first hour,
He gave to us a ‘divine flower’
Sent from the Federal and principalities in power.
Like a meal in our mouth, it was sour.
The uneducated called it ‘subsijin’, some
Called it ’somesijin’, while others called
It ‘stopstidy’
Of course, the elites branded it ‘subsidy!’
He subsidized our hopes!
And filled us with loathe,
Now the cracking of my bones
Is what I have come to know.
‘If I can make it, you can make it’
He said.
It is no doubt to believe we have erred.
Blinded by his pitiable background,
He came and use our heads ‘knack ground’
… With a handful of summon meals a day,
It is imminent
I have been made a fool once again…

Christianity Etc › Re: Request From Christians Answer To The Following Questions by Sanchez01(m): 6:47pm On Mar 24, 2015
Trustworthiness:
Please i need Christians who are well knowledgeable about the teachings of Jesus Christ to help in answering the following questions.

1. What is the Concept of God in Christianity?
Just like Emusan mentioned, God is the Head and the Creator of the world. - Gen:1- mentions this. He created ALL things and is seen as the Godhead in the Trinity (The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) and ALL three were available at the time of Creation. Gen 1:1 states GOD created the heavens and the earth, while the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) moved upon the face of the deep. John 1:1-5 gives an insight to how Christ functioned at the creation of the world. Thus, all three were available in birthing all things, with God as the Godhead in the Trinity.

2. Who is Jesus? God, Son of God, Son of Man?
Jesus is Christ, though known by many names. I would not want to bore this response by listing His diverse names, but the Bible, from the Old to the New Testament described Him with diverse names (Isa 9:6). Again, He is described as the 'Son' in the Trinity. I John 5:7 authoritatively confirms this "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Son -go back to John 1 to know whom is known as "The Word) , and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
.

3. If the word Christian derived from christ, which means follower christ. Then what are we going to call Jesus christ himself?
Funny, “Christ” comes from the Greek word "Christos," meaning “anointed one” or “chosen one.” This is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word "Mashiach", or “Messiah.” “Jesus” is the Lord’s human name given to Mary by the angel Gabriel (Luke 1:31). “Christ” is His title, signifying Jesus was sent from God to be a King and Deliverer (see Daniel 9:25; Isaiah 32:1). “Jesus Christ” means “Jesus the Messiah” or “Jesus the Anointed One.”.

Bearing this in mind, the word "Christian" was initially an adjective as the people of Antioch meant to use it derogatorily. It was later accepted in good fate and it eventually became a noun. Christ never called them Christians, people did. Hence, Jesus "Christ" is simply enough.

4. Following the question 3 above, what is the religion of Christ.
God did not tell the likes of Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Lot, Noah, Elijah, Ezekiel, Samuel, Hosea and Hezekiah of a particular religion. He DID NOT hand them a religion, just that they were are special people. In a similar fashion, Christ did not come with a religion. He only came as the Son in the Trinity to give example of what the followers of God should live like.

Today, Christianity is seen as a religion, to which I tell people it is not. Christianity is a way of life. Christ is the reflection, the mirror by which we are to see ourselves, listen to His teachings, do the things He says and act accordingly, just like Him though. So, saying one is a Christian is saying one is a follower of Christ but note that THERE IS NO RELIGION HERE. Christianity has come to stand as the word signifying the teachings and followership of Christ.

5. Why do we have gospel "ACCORDING TO" Mark, Matthew, Luke, John etc and not Gospel "BY" JESUS or "ACCORDING TO" JESUS? Not even gospel BY Mark, Matthew, Luke, John etc?
You seem to know one or two things about the Scriptures, and you should as well know that the several Gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John are simply accounts pointing towards the same direction - Christ (the Gospel, theme and the message). This explains why an account in Mark could differ in reportage from the one in Matthew or Luke, though they all point to the same thing which is projecting Christ (the Gospel) and the mighty works He carried out. The "Good News" were from several view points.

What you should have asked is "What are the Synoptic Gospels"?

The Synoptic Gospels are the first three books of the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, and Luke. These three books plus John are called the “Gospels” because they chronicle the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection—the basis of our salvation. The Gospel of Matthew was written by Matthew the apostle, one of the twelve commissioned by Jesus. The Gospel of Mark was written by John Mark, a close associate of the apostle Peter. The Gospel of Luke was written by Luke the physician, a friend and traveling companion of the apostle Paul.

The first three Gospels are called “synoptic” because they “see together with a common view” (the word synoptic literally means “together sight”). Matthew, Mark, and Luke cover many of the same events in Jesus’ life—most of them from Jesus’ ministry in Galilee—in much the same order. Nearly 90 percent of Mark’s content is found in Matthew, and about 50 percent of Mark appears in Luke. All of the parables of Christ are found in the Synoptics (the Gospel of John contains no parables).

There are differences, too. Matthew and Luke are both considerably longer than Mark. Matthew was written for a Jewish audience, Mark for a Roman audience, and Luke for a broader Gentile audience. Matthew quotes extensively from the Old Testament, and his oft use (32 times) of the phrase “the kingdom of heaven” is unique—it’s not found anywhere else in the Bible. Luke places a definite emphasis on Jesus’ acts of compassion toward Gentiles and Samaritans. Much of Luke 10—20 is unique to that Gospel.

The difficulty in explaining the similarities and differences among the Synoptic Gospels is referred to as the Synoptic Problem in the world of biblical scholarship. In the final analysis, the Synoptic “Problem” is not much of a problem at all—God inspired three Gospel writers to record the events surrounding the same Person (Christ) during the same part of His life in the same locations, yet with slightly different emphases aimed at different readers.

Please, make reference to Jesus statements from the Bible to prove your point. And let be mature in the answering of the Question
For an example of agreement in content see Mt 9:2–8; Mk 2:3–12; Lk 5:18–26. An instance of verbatim agreement is found in Mt 10:22a; Mk 13:13a; Lk 21:17.

I would tell you, that's the best I could do. The choice to still walk down the corridor depends on you because you might see me as being unfair if I don't give you the grace to choose. Again, it's still on choice.

based on what you say about love, remember even his love didnt prevent him from condeming man.
For jesus to take the bread and give to judas after he said he knws who will betray him and the devil entered judas after taking the bread. Then i can argue that the bread he gave judas was evil. So you see?
No sir, sorry to mention that your assertion is wrong. Christ was the perfect message of love among his followers, the Jews, non-Jews, corrupt government officials, harlots, and even Roman officers! Christ knew someone had to go the way of rebellion so as to perfect His purpose. Judas fitted based on his dubious and selfish lifestyle. Thus, Christ knew what Judas would do but showed him love, just as He made Peter stay at His till he (Peter) denied Christ. Like I earlier mentioned, Judas would have got another chance had he not committed suicide. Peter who said he had never met Christ became one of the greatest Apostle and a carrier of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Now, what does that tell you?
Christianity Etc › Re: Do God Really Know The Future? by Sanchez01(m): 11:02pm On Mar 23, 2015
Slimbiggy, your question is indeed thoughtful. Well, I hope my little response grow in you smiley

God created man for a loving relationship; a loving relationship must be a free-relationship. We should be thankful that God’s fore-knowledge of man’s transgression did not cause God to restrict His created purpose for mankind.

The Bible never depicts God as a divine-brain; therefore His omniscience is only one characteristic of His being, love on the other hand is a self-identity that God allows. The “Heart” as outlined throughout the Bible is God’s central consideration. As we know the “fall of man” is not the end of the story as there is also the “salvation of man” as well. The fall of man allows the salvation of man.

Your First Question:
So i ask, if he knew man would go astray through sin would he have created man?
Yes, God would have created man still. The whole scenario bothers on LOVE which is the most important. God loved Adam and Eve but it was not reciprocated. Thus, in this regard, God only wanted man to love Him and OBEY him.

For instance, even though God knew what choices we would make, if He actually wanted people to love Him, then he had to give them the chance to do so. Otherwise, our entire existence would have been merely a thought experiment that didn't turn out well—but that's not why God created humanity. He wanted us to know and love him.

Even though God knew that not everyone would choose to love him, he still wanted those who would love him to get to do so.

Your Second Question:

If yes is your answer then why did God punish us for what we were destined by him to do?
Note that it was not necessary for Adam and Eve to disobey God. They chose to do so. The same applies to you and me. Is it necessary for you and me to disobey God? No, when we have done so, we have chosen to do so. As to punishment, that’s the ground rule that God lays down: ‘The soul who sins will die’ (Ezekiel 18:4). God specifically told Adam this in Gen 2:17.

The same applied to Judas. It was not necessary for him to betray Christ but chose to do so. Read up on Judas in John 12:4(Please read this); Mark 14:10. Judas had always stood out as the "baddest" of the group and the Devil found him idle, just like he found Eve. Doing evil or good is as a matter of choice.

Shalom!

There's a secret unknown to many yet; God can keep a man to make an example of him in the positive or the negative part of it. God knew Pharoah and He knew he wouldn't back down easily due to his stubborn nature. The concept here is simple; a stubborn man is fuelled by stubbornness the more so as to be made an example. The same was used on Judas Iscariot. He was greedy and had been a long time before meeting Jesus and he was fuelled by a greater greed which mapped out God's plan, just like Pharoah mapped out God's plan as well.

God's plan for man was to keep him close for eternity. When He said 'Let us make man...' A God-like being in a humus (sand) was made. The man was to, by authority 'rule' over all creatures both great and small and the Bible recorded that God visited man in the garden in the cool of the day. It was meant to be a God-kind of fellowship but this did not last as the 'death' God mentioned came to play. Man was cut off from God in the spiritual realm, and the Holy Spirit which hovered on the face of the deep became exclusive to a few in the Old Testament.

Man died, not in the way he expected and he lost his place.
