As long as we remain human, our hearts will always have needs—longings we carry before God in prayer. It is perfectly natural to make requests of Him, for He is our Father and Provider. However, the true test of faith often lies not in the asking, but in the waiting. Many know how to make requests, yet few understand how to wait rightly on God. The Scripture declares in Romans 8:25 (NLT): “But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.” Herein lies a divine principle for every believer—the principle of patient and confident waiting. Waiting on God is not passive resignation; it is an active display of trust. It is a spiritual posture of calm assurance that the God who promised is faithful to perform. Yet, many believers miss this principle because they allow their waiting season to be filled with complaints and murmurings. You cannot expect to receive from God when your heart is restless and your lips are filled with doubt. The first key to waiting rightly is patience. God’s timing is perfect. Our desire may be now, but His appointed time may be tomorrow. Only He knows when the blessing will serve our good and not become a burden. The delay you perceive is often divine preparation. God uses the waiting season to shape your character, enlarge your capacity, and prepare you to manage the blessing when it finally arrives. Patience, therefore, is not weakness—it is strength under control, rooted in trust that God makes all things beautiful in His time. The second key is confidence. Confidence is faith in motion. It is the assurance that even though you have not yet seen the evidence, the promise is already settled in heaven. When you wait confidently, you silence fear, you dismiss doubt, and you anchor your heart in God’s ability. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think. Therefore, your waiting must be clothed in unwavering belief that God will come through—because He always does. So, beloved, when impatience whispers that your time is passing or when doubt tries to cloud your faith, recognize that it is the enemy attempting to steal your testimony. Refuse to yield. Stand firm in patience and confidence, knowing that God’s delay is never His denial. Let these two principles—patience and confidence—become your guideposts as you wait upon the Lord. Soon enough, the very thing you have prayed for will manifest, and your waiting will turn into rejoicing. You are next to testify. Jesus is Lord. |
This morning I stumbled on a video made by an acquaintance on one of her social media handles. After seeing the video, I felt moved in my spirit to write this message not just to her but also to others like her who share similar understanding: There are certain issues within Christendom that believers will always debate and contend over. However, such divisions often arise not merely from doctrinal differences, but from varying depths of spiritual maturity and revelation. Spiritual understanding is not uniform; it grows in proportion to one’s intimacy with God, obedience to His Word, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. There are truths you will struggle to comprehend or accept when your spiritual depth is shallow. This is because spiritual realities cannot be fully grasped through human intellect alone. As Scripture teaches, “the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God… because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, it is a grievous error to attempt to persuade others to adopt your views on matters where you yourself lack spiritual clarity and depth of revelation. Even more serious is the danger of misleading others. Jesus gave a stern warning: “Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6). Spiritual leadership and influence carry eternal responsibility. For every soul misled, accountability will be demanded before God. This reality should instill holy fear and humility in all who speak or teach in His name. When you find yourself unable to align with a church’s doctrinal positions or practices, wisdom demands that you withdraw quietly and respectfully. This protects both your conscience and your spiritual wellbeing. Rather than engaging in contention or public criticism, seek a ministry whose teachings resonate with your convictions and understanding of Scripture. Unfortunately, many choose the opposite path: they argue, sow discord, and attempt to “correct” what they perceive as error, often without sufficient spiritual authority or insight. This attitude not only breeds division but also endangers their own souls. Worse still, some go on to condemn and malign entire ministries, blacklisting the Church of God and discouraging others from fellowship. Such actions undermine the unity of the Body of Christ and disregard the possibility that God may be at work beyond one’s limited perspective. Scripture exhorts believers to “follow peace with all men” (Hebrews 12:14) and to guard the unity of the Spirit in love. Do not condemn what you do not understand. Spiritual matters transcend mere syntax, theology, and grammatical precision. While sound doctrine is essential, true spiritual discernment flows from a living relationship with the Holy Spirit. As Jesus promised, “when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). Let the Holy Spirit be your ultimate teacher, leading you in humility, love, and truth. Remain teachable. Walk in love. Guard your soul. And above all, seek depth in God before you seek to correct others. You’re next to testify. Jesus is Lord.

A few years ago, word got around that a renowned Man of God was holding a crusade right here in our city. You know the kind—anointing so thick you could slice it with a butter knife. I decided to attend, and, in a move I now classify as either inspired or just mischievous, I brought along a friend. Now, this friend of mine is what you’d call a “deliverance skeptic.” He believes in God, yes—but when it comes to demons being cast out, he’d say, “That’s just drama for religious theatre.” Anyway, we got to the venue and barely had our backsides on the plastic chairs when the Man of God—who had just taken the mic—did something unexpected. Without so much as a “Praise the Lord,” he dropped the microphone like it was on fire and walked straight down the aisle… straight to my friend. I mean, not even a left turn, not a “let me greet the ushers,” just beelined like a heat-seeking missile. He laid his hand gently on my friend’s head—emphasis on gently—and that was it. All heaven broke loose. My friend—this same friend who said deliverance was exaggerated—suddenly erupted like Mount Vesuvius. Chairs flew, people scattered, one woman lost her shoe and another her wig. It was like the Book of Acts met a WWE smackdown. Then just as quickly as it started, it stopped. He sat down. Calm. Composed. Like someone who just had a five-course meal and a nap. Didn't say a single word all through the rest of the service. Not an “amen,” not even a grunt. When we got home, he still hadn’t spoken. Just sat there, blinking like someone who had been downloaded with new software. All I can say is: doubt may argue, but power convinces. |
LETTER OF INTRODUCTION Evangelist Abubakar Abdullahi and Evangelist Aliyu Nuhu To Whom It May Concern, Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I am writing to formally introduce to you Evangelist Abubakar Abdullahi and Evangelist Aliyu Nuhu, they are both courageous servants of God and tireless labourers in the vineyard of Christ, whose work in the hostile and spiritually challenging regions of Northern Nigeria deserves both recognition and robust support. Evangelist Abubakar Abdullahi and Evangelist Nuhu Aliyu are members of the Fulani ethnic group, a background that makes their calling even more remarkable and their mission all the more strategic in reaching communities that are often unreached and, at times, resistant to the Gospel. With unwavering faith and resolute commitment, they have been proclaiming the message of salvation through Jesus Christ in environments often marked by religious intolerance, persecution, and security threats. Despite these enormous challenges—ranging from personal risk to social rejection and lack of institutional support—Evangelist Abubakar and Evangelist Nuhu have continued to disciple new believers, and minister healing and hope to many who would otherwise remain unreached by the Gospel. Their ministry stand as a powerful testimony to the grace of God and the enduring power of the Great Commission. As the body of Christ, we are exhorted to support those who "go out for the sake of the Name" (3 John 1:7). Evangelist Abubakar's and Evangelist Nuhu’s works are not only worthy of our prayers, but also of our material and financial support. There is a critical need for Bibles, discipleship resources, transportation means, and basic ministry infrastructure to enable them to carry out their divine assignments effectively. I therefore appeal to you—individual believers, churches, mission agencies, and philanthropic organisations—to partner with this vital Kingdom work. Your support can empower Evangelist Abubakar and Evangelist Nuhu to extend the reach of the Gospel into even more remote and resistant areas, transforming lives and communities with the light of Christ. Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction. May the Lord stir your heart to stand with Evangelist Abubakar Abdullahi and Evangelist Nuhu Aliyu as they continue to carry the Cross in a land where it is often most resisted, but desperately needed. Yours in Christ’s Service, Dcn. Sidney Okoli. 08154715704 NB Evangelist Abubakar Abdullahi (08160536319) Evangelist Nuhu Aliyu (08036093496) |

My name is Bro. Sidney Okoli. I was on my weekly evangelism in the evening of Sunday, 2nd of April, 2023 in a place called Kango, in the Kuje Area Council of Abuja when I ran into this middle-aged man by name, Mr. Ezera Kalu Oka, from Abia State. The uncompleted building you see him standing in front is where he lives with his wife. He said he hasn't been able to complete the house because of his failing health (prostrate cancer) and his inability to secure capital to restart his bread bakery business ( in one of the pics is a local baking oven he has been trying to construct but which has been hampered by lack of funds). After looking at his pitiable situation, I want to appeal to your good conscience to come to the aid of Mr. Ezera Kalu. Whatever help the Lord lays in your heart to render to him to enable him to treat himself, restart his bread bakery business and to construct the roof and windows in the house ( before the rainy season fully kick starts), I plead with you not to hesitate. The Bible says, he that waters others shall be watered. And blessed is the hand that giveth. Nothing is too small...May God bless you as you give out of the little that you have and may your cry for help never go unanswered. Below are his account details and phone numbers: Bank account: 0014731247, Access bank, Ezera Kalu Oka. Phone numbers: 08119985023 08179256381 God bless you!

Preciousgirl:For you to bring this here, means deep down somewhere in your subconscious mind you're already considering the offer. Otherwise, you don't need any counseling from the Vatican not to talk of the Pope. |
Ebenman:I use to think like you. But I am glad I didn't follow thru with the so called ' standards' of a thing. My advice to you is this: if this lady has a good character, my brother don't hesitate for a second. In marriage, character is one of the most important thing. A lady with a good character is like gold in it's raw state. Refine it and you will have one of the most precious gift mother earth has got to offer. Seek you first good character and every other thing shall be added unto you. |

One of my course mate back then in ABU, actually dated one of my unmarried female lecturers. I later ran into her in BUK some years later during my MSc as a professor. She came as an external examiner. They kept it a secret and everything was going on well between them until she found out my course mate was double dating. He was dating a Nigerian girl in my class. When she discovered, all hell broke loose. She quit the relationship and would often attack the guy in class over very frivolous reasons. But many in our class weren't aware what had been going on between her and my course mate. Only very few of us knew. The guy had gone behind to beg her numerous times for forgiveness but she was adamant. She never witch hunted the bloke in those courses she took us. But in our final year, the guy was assigned as his supervisee. That was where she dealt the hell out of the chap. You would often see my guy in hostel room crying. She eventually let her go long after we were done with our project. Hell has no fury than the scorn of a woman! |
Distance relationship is a disaster waiting to happen. |
I once dated a lady banker that was like this. She was very suspicious of my every move. 'twas not as if I ever cheated on her or anything. She would always call me on phone during office hours and after, countless times. And I dare not miss any of her calls; I would have to explain why later. Anytime I visited her or she visited, she would take her time to go through my call record and have me explain why I had been on call with a certain 'Rachel for 2 mins.' It was not funny at all. But guess what, we eventually broke up coz she was doing exactly what she had been suspecting me of. I caught her red handed and I was MAD! She came begging with her friend, Halima, but I didn't want such a toxic person around me anymore. I just had to let her go! So bro, shine your eyes well...well.. |
I spent 19yrs in Kano. In terms of the cost of living, I think Kano is one of the best. But my major challenge with Kano and what even made me to exit is their intolerance of people of other ethnic group and religion; coupled with its incessant outburst of religious crisis. You can never predict when and how it would start. And God help you, if you are in the wrong place when it starts. My best friend's house in a place called Kàwo was razed to the ground after all his electronics had been looted in one of such crisis. He is only alive today cos he wasn't at home the day they invaded his house. |

A man can be raped too. Some time around 2002/03, I visited this recent acquaintance of mine at her home at Redbricks around BUK, on the account of her claim that she had a domestic accident (Note: we were not dating. We were just friends). However, when i arrived at her place that day, I discovered it wasn't true. She only said that to get me to come down to her place. While I was in her apartment, she became very seductive and was trying to talk me into having s*x. But I flatly turned her down cos I was not mentally prepared for what she was throwing at me. I even told her at that point that i wanted to leave. Immediately I said that, she stood up, grabbed the door key from the rug and locked the door. I was shocked to my bone marrows. I politely asked her many times to open the door but she blatantly refused. When I began to threaten to forcefully collect the key from her, she said if I even dare that she would scream that I want to rape her. When I didn't know what to do again, I sat mute on her bed looking like a kidnapped child. She came over to me once more and tried to convince me to have s*x with her but I remained adamant. In the mean time, I was just thinking of how I can get myself out of her place. At a point, I came up with the excuse that I don't have a condom. She asked if getting me one would solve the problem, and I said 'yes' instantly thinking there is no way she can get it. Consequently, she asked me to stand up from the mattress, and I did. When I stood up, she raised the mattress from the rug. What I saw under the mattress nearly made me to pass out! Just mention the brand of condom you want, they are all fully represented. To cut the long story short: it seemed my stubbornness must have pissed her off so much that she thought of how to deal with me. So she called her friends, about five of them. They came all at once. They all had tattoos and were all skimpily dressed. When they entered, they asked her if I was the one and she said yes. They turned to me and asked me why I was maltreating their friend. I told them I wasn't maltreating her in anyway; that I just wanted to go so that I can come back prepared some other time. . That explanation didn't seem to sit well with them. But surprisingly they told the lady that I was in her apartment that they will be back for me. When I heard that, something in me told me to make sure those girls don't come back and meet me in that apartment. Immediately they stepped out, I quickly began to wrack my brain. Eventually, I decided to calm the girl down and I made her to believe I was now ready to do her bidding. She became more relaxed and left the door unlocked. I saw my opportunity to escape and I didn't dither. I ran like a PoW escaping from Sobibor!. |
wingmanII:Sorry, I wish I could be of help to you. ![]() |
Well, what else will happen if not that they pressurized the poor girl to giving in to their wish. She is yet to move on and it is close to seven years now. Simbrixton: |

Distance relationship is one of the most difficult things to do. I once had a lady but she had to move out of town cos are family insisted. But I didn't also move cos I was running an Msc programme then. Reluctantly, I consented and that was the beginning of the end. Not long after she moved, she began to drift. I complained and complained to no avail. She kept giving me one excuse or the other. I persevered but one day I decided to pay her a surprise visit but to my utter amazement she was not pleased. That was a shocker for me. It wasn't far anymore before i discovered 'things had fallen apart' and 'the centre can no longer hold '. Experience is the best teacher. And as far as I am concerned, if it is distance relationship,to your tent o Isreal! #icannotcomeanddie |
