without being bias..

We all know if any of this president, first ladies or governors are visiting Victoria Island, Lagos. Policemen are always stationed at every junction from Lagos Ibadan express to Lekki .. if we calculate the numbers of police stationed in each junction and road, it might be upto 1000

Politics / Re: INEC Poorly Prepared For Elections –PDP Governors. by santity100: 7:52am On Mar 11, 2015
I wonder the fear of Card Readers by the PDP when it is obvious that this Card Reader would make rigging and manipulation extremely difficult.

Maybe because they know it will be very difficult for GEJ to win this election.

Mr GEJ, if you had performed, it would have been a free win for you but you just wasted 6 years doing little despite the trust and our votes we gave you in 2011.

Even if it was only electricity you fixed, APC won't bother to waste money to campaign sef.

My brother you have tried ur best.

Bye bye

Politics / Reasons Why Jega Should Be Sacked - Fayose by santity100: 8:37pm On Mar 04, 2015
Congress” over the possible removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega, as “mere comedy.”

The governor, who advised the opposition party to stop acting as if Nigeria belonged to the party said, “President Goodluck Jonathan can sack Jega if he wishes and if he does, heavens will not fall.

“By turning themselves to advocates and defenders of the INEC chairman, the APC and its agents have shown that they have a deal with Jega to manipulate the elections and that the deal will be frustrated if he is asked to leave office.”

Fayose, according to a press release issued on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, added that the removal of Jega and any other appointees of the Federal Government was a prerogative of the president, “which no one can question, provided laid down rules are followed.”

He said the position expressed by the House of Representatives was that of the APC members in the House, urging that “the APC lawmakers should rather pay attention to the ill-health of their party’s Presidential Candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (retd.), whose whereabouts is now a mystery.”

The governor described Jega as partisan, saying, “By his actions and utterances, Jega had already demonstrated his bias in support of the APC.

“For instance, how can Jega explain the 80 percent distribution of Permanent Voters Card in Boko Haram ravaged Borno and Yobe States while less than 40 percent distributed in Lagos as of February 7 that the election was postponed?”

“It is on record that Prof Maurice Iwu was asked to proceed on terminal leave two months to the end of his tenure? Is Jega not a beneficiary of Iwu’s removal?

“So if Iwu was asked to go on terminal leave before the expiration of his tenure for Jega to assume office, what difference does it make if Jega too is asked to proceed on terminal leave before the expiration of his tenure?”

Fayose also said, “It is the president that can determine whether or not Jega will go on the mandatory three months terminal leave which should commence on March 8, and if the president decides that the INEC chairman should go on terminal leave, what can the APC loudmouths do?

“They boasted before the postponement of the elections that they would go on street protests, but did they do anything? They made noise when Justice Isa Ayo Salami was removed from office as president of the Court of Appeal, what did their noise amount to?

“Therefore, let me say it categorically that the noise being made by the APC and their agents will amount to nothing because if the president removes Jega today, heavens will not fall.”
Politics / PDP: Reasons Why We Do Not Want CARD READERS by santity100: 8:10pm On Mar 04, 2015
Presidential Campaign Office of President Goodluck Jonathan has vowed to resist the use of card readers if it will jeopardise the ambition of its principal.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Organisation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, stated this at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

He also said the campaign office and the party was not planning to implicate the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, as alleged by the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress.

He said since the card readers had not been tested during any election, his party was apprehensive about their usefulness now.

Card readers are meant to stop rigging and also prevent double-voting by eligible voters.

The commission is planning to test-run the cards in 12 states of the federation on Saturday.

Fani-Kayode however further alleged that he was aware that the APC, with the connivance of some unnamed members of staff of INEC, is planning to use the card readers to frustrate accreditation of voters in some states.

The former Minister of Aviation said, “Our position on the card reader remains that the machine has not been tested in any election and there are bases for genuine concern over the use of the machine, for the first time, in a crucial election of this magnitude.

“We are aware of the plot by the APC, working in cahoots with some strategically placed and retrogressive elements, to use the card readers to frustrate accreditation in some parts of the country while not enforcing strict use of the machine in some other parts.”

He added that “the truth is that if they go ahead with that wicked plot, the APC and its collaborators will only be preparing the ground for mass resistance.

“They can be rest assured that we will not sit by idly and allow such a thing to unfold.”

On the alleged plan to implicate Jega, Fani-Kayode said these allegations were nothing but “the paranoid ranting of a paranoid little man that is working for a paranoid party.”

He said the truth was that his party was “not strategising to shift the election dates. We are not trying to frame up Jega.”

Nairaland / General / Reasons Why We Might Not Vote JONATHAN In 2015 by santity100: 8:16am On Feb 27, 2015
It is wrong to say you have not done anything positively, it is just that you did not perform upto our expectations when we campaigned and voted for you in 2011.

How do we expect governors to perform excellently when you their father has performed below par. A leader should lead by example.

Since there is nothing at stake after 2015 elections for you politically, I sense you will perform poorly and woefully. (because you won't contest in 2019).

As the president of Nigeria for the past Six (6) years, you have really showed insensitivity to most of the things that affect ordinary Nigerians.

1) Removing PMS Subsidy on a new year. That was cruel and callous. Because you do not have the will and interest to prosecute less than 50 multi billion subsidy thieves, you want 180 million people to suffer for that ?

2) Your inability to prosecute Oil Subsidy thieves till now.

3) We have seen all your economic analysis that the country has improved. Why are the market traders, SMEs, civil servants, businessmen complaining of economic hardship ?

4) RESERVES .. What happened to our RESERVES ? The price of crude oil for more than 3 years was upto $110 per barrel. Exchange rate to dollar is now #200, when most businesses in the country depend on dollars to import stock for business.

5) Corruption !! Corruption !! OMG !!
Presidential Pardon of Alayebaje, Alayesheka. What kind of message did you send to other thieves (politicians, civil servants, governors) ? I know he is your very good friend and father, you are the leader of Nigeria and this corruption issue is affecting all Nigerians.

We all know a step to curb this menace is to extend maximum punishment to offenders.

4) BOKO HARAM. As our GCFR and Leader, I 100 per cent believe that you have all the power and resources to tackle boko harram and bring their sponsors to court of law. (Due to enormous power of the president of Nigeria , I am sure you know their sponsors).

Even if it is Buhari as some of your supporters has been saying, As a leader you should have the will to act in the best interest of this country. It is obvious that this buhari doesn't even know about it. (if he knew, you would have acted swiftly for political gains which you are desperate for at this moment)

But you ignored this, maybe for personal reasons, Many people lost their lives, their bloods are on your hands due to your inability to provide the kind of leadership required to tame this insurgents.

For God's sake, Yaradua was sick and he worked hard to ensure amnesty to the militants.

I wish Mr. Goodluck, Goodluck. We all came out in 2011, campaigned for you, believed in you and we all voted for you.

It won't happen this 2015.

MUMU, we all know most Nigerians are very desperate for money and surely most must have been involved in drug trafficking.

Someone caught with drugs in his luggage is innocent ?

Just forget it ... Just change your ways and orientation and start talking like someone that wants the country to move forward.

We all voted and campaigned for GEJ in 2011 because we believed and trusted him, what do we have after 6 years ?

It is time to try another person .. Even in Lagos State, we are trying Jimi Agbaje..

I am so sad to say this, the situation in the market has never been this worst. We are distributors of noodles and other daily needs.

Business is just too dull unlike in the past when I make total daily sales of #200,000, these days it is just #20,000. And debt turnover is just too low.

I wonder how the economy has improved.

OBJ knows this and he is also scared that all the money he looted will be uncovered.
Politics / Jonathan Afraid Buhari Will Jail Him for Corruption — Obasanjo by santity100: 6:29am On Feb 15, 2015
Obasanjo, who just returned from foreign trips, said, “I believe the President’s fear is particularly motivated by whom he sees as his likely successor, that is, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. I believe people would have been telling him that Buhari is a hard man; he will fight corruption and he (Jonathan) may end up in jail if not in the grave. I think people would have told him that sort of thing and he is not the only one afraid of Buhari.”

But Obasanjo said Buhari should have learnt his lessons and might not be contemplating sending people to jail to fight corruption.
