goodguygonebad:Yes of course. You can commence with your PR stuffs while you guys are there. In fact I know some people that got PR even before they completed their studies. Go for it immediately. |
smoothvee:They can sponsor you with their company details in Australia or New Zealand. But firstly you need to select an occupation that is related to your education and experience and gotten a positive skill assessment. That's your best shot. |
smoothvee:What stage are you on your pr ? Have you gotten a positive skill assessment ? What's your proposed occupation ? |

Not possible again. You can't drop to a lower level but you can jump to phd from your msc |
Jokers |
StarBj:Sorry chief. All information already available here. If you have more questions, ask so that everyone can learn and know more. |
StarBj:Which school accepted you ? |
WestAfrican:In addition, be ready to write a very good sop to scale GTE (genuine temporary entrant) as the school will also require this before you are accepted. Previously it could have been easier for you as the schools will readily give you admission and it is now to go face the embassy for visa but now even schools are checking to confirm your intentions before they accept you. I always advise students check the sponsors documents you will need critically before you step into the water. |
Kaylawesteros:Yes of course but you will need lots of evidences on finance and your present status to scale GTE |
StarBj:if he is ready to pay tuition fee of 15,000 dollars, why can't you apply to AL1 schools in order to make your visa process easier and faster and you won't need sponsor documents. |
StarBj:only 22 or 23 universities are on AL1 status that do not require bank statement and the schools are expensive I am surprised that you are confused when you have all information available already regarding if you will need bank statement or not. Please go to border.gov student visa page, there is simple form to complete that will show you the financial requirements based on your circumstances like the school name and your nationality. |
lusen:That's very wrong information you just gave. You won't give bank statement ONLY if you apply to AL1 universities. |
StarBj:Few points : 1) what is the relationship ? Blood ? Same surname? 2) has he maintained the same 5m in his account over the past 3 months ? Same for the dom 3) is he into business or employed ? |
WestAfrican:No other way to say it better champ. Maybe from next year, I doubt if anyone with 60 points and below will even be invited sef in some occupations. The competition is increasing as more people have more information. Asians and Arabs especially chinese and indians are more aggressive than us and they have more tools and edge. Their motive is to extend their family business and have second nationality in a western world in order to have more business opportunities. They have dealt with UK and Canada in the past, now it is oz. Most don't even pay first semester tuition fee to get student visa, they pay all 2 years fee once and most will even buy house when they land in oz to even increase chance of getting PR. The classification of our bachelor's degree as associate degree is not helping our people to get maximum points from experience. Recently I sent email to the education dept responsible for the reasons for classifying just few 6 or 5 universities bachelor's degree as equivalent but unfortunately it will be like this for sometime. The best is to encourage people to study more health related or skilled based courses in our technical schools instead of everyone study business administration, accounting etc. Apprenticeships and health related occupations will still always have edge irrespective of the competition for PR to Canada or Australia. Tell your younger ones to study in our technical schools to become welder, electrician, carpenter, plumber, chef, masons, etc. They will be independent and reduce unemployment in our country and for years to come, they will always the opportunity of migrating to Canada or anywhere for PR. |
chibuike123:Letter of introduction that you work with the company should also suffice. If you can't get this documents from them, your appointment letters, confirmation , ID card and other company related documents should attached. The reference letters not really compulsory but it is just to show that your previous lecturers or previous employer can also say something about you. As the school is AL1, you don't really need to have sleepless nights on the above. |
SegunWamiri:It is alright mate. The most important is we are able to pass information to help people achieve their travel aims. There are hundred thousands of immigrant in that skill select and only the highest pointers will be invited until the budgeted invitees is reached. 60 points is just the standard. There are many people that had 60 points and they were never invited from skill select to apply till their occupation was removed the list. Same faith awaits account related occupations They have reduced all accountants, auditors and management related occupations and ict occupations this year and presently the number of people remaining to be invited will be limited, hence the competition. That's why you see some people travelling to study in Australia to get more points and have options of regional sponsorship and independent etc. Or after your positive assessment and having done the English exam, you can look for registered immigration agents to help you get employer sponsorship. |
chibuike123:Nope you don't require to show any bank statement. Mostly for postgraduate, the home ties is your current situation. Are you presently employed or doing business ? Include all employment and business evidences including introduction letters. Also reference letter you used during admission can also be submitted for visa if it is a to whom it may concern, if not try get reference letters. |
mctowel01:now all advice and my opinions will be here free so that folks can learn and DIY while others can contest it and we can all continue to learn more |
[quo[b]te author=SegunWamiri post=54630948]
Are you saying that he'll need 70 points for ANY ICT occupation even if he isn't after state sponsorship? I am saying for him to have better chances of getting invited this year or soon, he needs at least 70 points irrespective of whether independent or state sponsorship because of the competition in ICT related occupation. There are many applicants in that field with high points and available slots is low. Secondly I meant having a positive assessment does not guarantee that you will be invited to apply for PR. Also, what is external assessment again ? The website is self explanatory and very clear. You will definitely have idea of the points you will get if you go through the points of border.gov Applicants should even be worried about loosing points if the assessing body is taking your professional qualifications in lieu of your bachelor's degree which means all your experiences prior to professional qualifications won't be recognised, making you loose points on experience. I have seen people with bachelor's degree in 2002 and started working in 2005 but they had professional qualifications in 2014. The assessing body started recognising their experience from 2014.. I just feel it is better people know all the options before they put their leg into it because once they start, the psychological effect of this process is crazy and if it doesn't work out it successfully, it cause depression for sometime. |
EmmySparky:Firstly it is believed that before you can perform some jobs it is required that you have the education and knowledge which is mostly Bachelor's degree. Any experience you have before you gain your bachelor's degree won't be recognised. You sef know say nah bachelor in education and nce dey teach for school nah. The earlier you know your chances the better. Disappointments in visa applications is always bad, so earlier you know your chances the better you quickly make your decision to do stuffs that are realistic. Eye Don see with different clients and families. Forget all those check sol/csol, once you have positive assessment you submit to skill select and you are on your way to PR. There are lots of people in skill select for more than 4 years without invitation to apply for PR. Let's know if you have further questions. All the best. |
EmmySparky:The fact is it is very slim that you will get invited for PR on ICT related occupation due to the following reasons: 1) You will need at least 70 points before you can have any chance of invitation. ICT is highly competitive and most of these Asians are highly skilled and experienced in that occupation . 2) try to calculate your points from their website, if it is below 70, I doubt if you will be invited this year again as most occupations like accountants and ICT are already reaching ceiling. The highest pointers will get the most invites. If you are assessed positively by the body in Australia now 1) Try to build your skill by writing all those your ccna ccnp etc, I have seen people that were sponsored by companies because of their professional qualifications. Showcase yourself on LinkedIn and apply for sponsored jobs. Not everyone will get invited for PR, you need very good points, it is getting competitive yearly except for health occupations. The above is just the direct truth and no sugar coating. |
abass:It is always an issue when someone is applying to a different program when you have different background. Even someone that already have a bachelor's degree and wanting to study another bachelor's degree, it is same issue with this GTE. What you are going through with the school now, you will still go through same with the embassy. If you are later accepted to study this program, please have strong financial sponsorship and many documents to proof ties and your passion to study this program when you submit for visa. People get visas with this certificates and diploma courses in TAFEs but you must be ready to have huge supporting documents for visa Australia embassy is very strict and tough as the case officers are south Africans. I might just advise you to study a different course at postgraduate level to ease your chances |
EmmySparky:yes same PTE academic Assessment of your skill and education less than 1000 dollars for most bodies English language test: maybe 50k depending Next payment will be when you are invited to apply for pr, the visa fee varies depending on number of dependents but you can check the accurate fee on border.gov |
togetherness:It is not advisable to try that stunt from here because of visa policies and especially the GTE Most students that travel to Australia in the past were able to change from bachelor's to TAFE studying diplomas. It is no more possible to be studying a course lower than the level you were given visa to Australia due to the recent immigration laws. |
jeffery23:I mean accountant migrated to Australia and enrolled for nursing when he realised the prospects. It is here we lay unnecessary emphasis on background. There are different pathways depending on your background. You can study your dream if you are living legitimately in a developed country. |
perfectme:The demand for nurses is massive in Australia. They are only sceptical about your skills and knowledge, hence the route for the short course. I know accountants and the rest that left their profession and went to study diploma in nursing when they got to Australia. Take it and you won't regret the action. |
EmmySparky:It could take you 4 months and take me one year. It depends the occupation and the points. |
SantaClause:Why Sydney ? Since it is Sydney you are looking at, it will be easier to define your search and contact the schools directly. RMIT in Melbourne don't English. But you can easily write PTE and result comes out fast and it is straight English exam and easier. |
TabyU:Hi Mcquire is AL1 university and most of them are expensive. You need to know that tuition fees in Australia are high except the TAFE that offer diplomas and certificates courses. And most of the university will request first semester deposit after acceptance. Toefl is acceptable but why not try PTE, it is easier to pass and result comes out within 3 days. Why not go for the Nursing program or the health care. It is better and you have more opportunities during and after studies. |
I have been following this thread and it is helping lots of people here while sometimes information are wrong. During my undergraduate days, to support myself and get more cash and fx, I was agent to some schools in Canada and UK and I helped lots of students to travel and study in Europe, Australia, Canada and UK. I will also be giving advice and information to others on this thread based on my wealth of experience and knowledge. So let's have more questions here .. |
Vivienne01:All AL1 schools do not need English proficiency and proof of sponsorships when apply for visa. Though some AL1 schools will require English proficiency and sponsor document before issue admission or COE. |
jeffery23:Accountants are on sol and csol. You need to understand very well the process before you start spending your money and having high hopes with sweet dreams. For you to be assessed positively you must have a bachelor degree equivalent to Australia's. The most important is for you to be a member of a professional body like ICAN or ACCA because the assessment bodies in Australia classify our bachelor's degrees as associate degree with exception of uni lag, oau and few others. Even if you were assessed positively, you will need a good points like 70 points and above to be invited to apply for PR as Accountants ceilings is low and lots of competition from other immigrants with higher points. To read further, I advise you go to their website and read more about the points. |
