Jimi23: do you really understand what wole wole means in yoruba? In case you don't know it means environment inspectors. Every sane country have sanitary officer to enforce environment sanitation. they have it in the US, they have in UK, they have it in sane climes. so what are you talking about those countries are not looking clean without strict enforcement of environmental sanitation. always get your facts right before you criticise |

joey150: yeah sustaining the enforcement is a big issue |

joey150: people litter the streets with junks because there's street trading all over the place. so eat while on the road and end up leave the rubbish on the road. those overly busy people still leave the house before environmental starts which means they are still not part of the sanitation exercise. Only a few ppl utilises the 3hrs to clean their house, majority busy themselves doing other things while it lasts. despite the weekly market environmental sanitation, the markets stilll remain dirty. it took the closing down of the markets by the government for the markets to become cleaner again the only effective way government can force the people to clean their environment is by strict enforcement and sections 1 Like 1 Share |

joey150: in my house , the compound is swept everyday and it's rotated among the tenants weekly, as for the gutter, whoever's turns to sweep the gutter also ensure the gutter is clean. those that are too busy to do this themselves pays sweepers to do it for them. besides this things are in your agreement paper for anybody wanting to rent an appartment in the house. as for the developed countries they don't joke with sanitation of the environment, infact you get sanctioned and fined for leaving your lawn overgrown talk more dirts littering your compound. with strict monitoring and sanctions , we don't need to declare an holiday to have our homes cleaned 1 Like |

Jimi23: by the time "wole wole " start locking up houses, there will no longer be need for landlords to force tenants to clean the house. this is a right step in the right direction |
Politics / Re: Ambode Abolishes Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise by santori: 5:39pm On Mar 31, 2016 |
joey150: everything you just stated is what is supposed to be done daily my brother. it's not to be left to be done once in a month. lagos in 70's and early 80's uses "wole wole " to keep people on their toes and lagos was way cleaner then. the monthly sanitation is unnecessary if the tax force is brought back to life besides most lagosians don't even utilise the day to clean up their environment. they spend those hours watching films, playing football and having meetings. so the scrapping of the sanitation day is long overdue 1 Like |

Zelex9: what's too simplistic? I don't think you understand the value of time. we don't place premium on time that's why the country is where it is today. serious minded countries don't toy with time, they don't give unnecessary holidays as we do here. that's why people go to work on election days. that's why they are always moving ahead with jet speed why we are still hopping with our back side |

joey150: you guys are dirty o, so you mean you guys clean your compound only once in a month. People like you are not supposed to b living in a city, anyway "wole wole" go visit una soon and lock that una filthy compound up since una dey expect government to force una to clean una house #smh |

ambode seems to be the real deal, I see this guy surpassing fashola in all ramifications, I for one have been clamouring for the abolition of the so called sanitation days for a very long time. For instance, Thursdays is like a total waste for the traders and other services related to their trading. proper trading commences after twelve which means about 6 hrs of the day is already wasted. the pathetic part of it is the traders even spend those hours playing football or watching film at home cos they already did the cleaning wednesday evening before closing shop environmental sanitation is supposed to be a daily thing and not a weekly or monthly thing. I will implore the government to set up health task force to ensure all markets and streets are always clean, if sanction defaulters to serve as deterrent 1 Like 1 Share |
