I won't lie, we have our slums too but to even dare say Ibadan is more developed than cities in Delta, you have to be very high on some cheap meth. It might hold a candle over the villages but cities? You people make me laugh. Don't insult us again ooo

which delta are you talking about? even warri the most developed part of delta is an eyesore despite all the oil money. which part of delta can you compare with auchi , talk more benin city just next door to warri

If I'm to go with your sense of reasoning, the country should just legalise corruption or better still, government should scrap the prisons and free all the prisoners since nobody holy pass. above all should disband the police army and other security agents. Some people with cockroach brain eeh

I don't think you know there are so many dialects in yoruba. an egba man in ogun may find it difficult to understand an akoko man in ondo state, and this also goes for the other dialects in the language. Don't get it twisted, ijaws are not indigenous to lagos and ogun. except for the eastern flank of ondo state creeks

Lol you missing it, this world is cursed by sin, for all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. That a few prophets and sons of God have come doesn't mean they came to save the world like bring utopia. They came to save the world so that we can enjoy the peace and tranquillity in eternity. Oh what did men do to the prophets and men of God? They were flogged, hung, ridiculed, etc. They have done their work, those who turned to God turned to God, those who didn't well, they turned to Satan.
You then ask why can't God create peace on earth since He is all powerful and sovereign? Every that happens and doesn't happen is He willed it. Why not follow God by accepting that Jesus Christ died for you, let the spirit of God guide you through life,Keep the statutes of God, drop your unbelief experience God and when you die and go to heaven you can ask God, or better still if you claim there's no life after death then what do you have to lose? By living for God?.

that God you just described is not worth taking serious. he is a weakling and cannot even see beyond his nose

Europe was liberated from the shackles of religion bondage after the sufferings of some free thinkers who stand firm on whe truth they were able to uncover. this men were flogged, chained, mutilated, hanged by the church leaders of those days

Last I checked there is no peaceful place on earth, it's either gangfights, terrorism, earthquakes, landslides, volcano eruption, man killing his neighbours, robbery, apathy, starvation, famine etc. The world is cursed due to sin, the allocation of the curse is just in varing degrees geographically

if I'm to go by your logic. the world has never been peaceful since genesis .
and all the so called prophets and son of God and God himself have failed to reign in peace to the world

doesn't that negates the fact that the biblical God is not as powerful as being claimed

As the arguments are still going on, I am amazed as the wisdom and thought it takes to drop these views.
Would like to however say to my brothers in the Lord that our words alone won't change the hearts of people. Our lives, our way of living, and most importantly praying for God's spirit to encounter them.

Also Christianity as God planned it isn't a religion, it's actually a way of life. The apostles were called Christians in Antioch because of the way they lived their lives. The world isn't interested in hearing the word as much as they did in the days of old, they read our lives. So when Jesus said we aren't subject to the laws again he meant religion.
God hates religion because slowly men due to the corrupt nature of our hearts have corrupted religion. If you doubt your Christian faith, pray to encounter Christ who is the only way the reach God. Pray with soberness in your heart and hold on to the faith that he would show himself to you in all his splendour, you may become blind like Paul but it's all for the greater glory of God.

Faith is believing something without questioning, therefore asking a Christian who is christ-like to question his faith and think freely is actually asking him to stop having faith. If however he/she does question the faith then His/her faith is weak to start with.
Surely the word of God was written by men but it was inspired by the spirit of God that's why so many different men wrote the 66 books of the bible and yet they all follow a pattern. Most of the knowledge we have acquired are from reading books, last I checked books were written by men equally. Soo....

He that Has an ear let him here what the spirit of God is saying to the world for whether you like it or not the world would end one day and when it does where would you spend your eternity?
Finally to the atheist, agonist et al brothers telling my Christian brothers to question our faith it's not possible to do that. I pray that before your night comes you encounter the true God.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahhahahaha

its your choice, you chose God or reject Him, do you think you've found true peace ?The excitement of living life on the edge, as God takes you beyond what you are humanly capable of. Divine power to love the unlovable, to break
destructive habits, to resist peer pressure and to control such weaknesses as temper, greed, and selfishness. Not even death can snatch this JOY from you.
In the days you're a christian, do you think you know God ? Its is the pride in you that thought you lies that you know God. Your reasons for not becoming a Christian may be more flimsy that you realize. Years ago, psychologists
carefully explained to smokers the danger of smoking. They discovered that those who continued to smoke reported enjoying smoking more than before. Apparently, the discrepancy
between their behavior and what they knew they should do, forced their minds to exaggerate the pleasures of smoking. Likewise, a reluctance to become a Christian
could subject people to psychological pressures that distort their perception of the benefits or logic of remaining spiritually divorced from Jesus.

Your decision about religion is as
serious as a starving person deciding whether to risk eating something which might be deadly. And if you eat nothing for weeks, indecision becomes as deadly as the worse decision.

if all you said up there is the benefits of Christianity, why is Nigeria so messed up while the most peaceful and prosperous places on earth are places where they don't believe in the existence of god . I know you will surely come up with a twist.

Bro, I was on the search for the truth ever since I was 14, all what he wrote were what I've thought about over and over for over 13years. Been to several religion practices, read several books, listen to several individuals... Until I found the truth in 2009 visiting the Living Faith Church, Winners Otta.

Every man is entitled to his/her opinion. All I'm saying is he's out of the faith and no one should try to want to convert him.

No one converted me to become a christian, I found the truth myself...

good for you bro, unfortunately your folks through their antics successfully stopped the OP from going any further in revealing how he found the truth

they were already doing background checks on him to know where and when to attack him. giving the fact that we are in a religion fanatic ridden country where some are ready to maim and kill for their defenceless God

Well I'm not surprised at this thread. 1Timothy 4:1- in the latter times some will depart from the faith..... Hebrew 6 verses 4-6:
4- For it is IMPOSSIBLE for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5- and have tasted the good word of GOD and the powers of the age to come,
6- if they fall away, to renew them again to repentace, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of GOD, and put Him to an open shame.....

Bro, Wish you all the best as you walk out of the faith.... You aint the first and probably won't be the last, many more will follow..

There's a popular Christian song writer(can't rem name). He wrote a great revival song and ended up smoking weed n puffing cocaine... He died an addict to drugs..

WORD of Advice for the faithfuls:: Hebrew 3:12- beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the Living GOD...

and you think the people here will take you serious by reeling out quotes from that book of human imaginations of that times and their lies

I think you should go read this thread from page 1 to this point to be enlightened

But I know better now.
Yes my case is not new. Who talked about it being new? Everyday people are gradually realizing that god takes glory for things he did not do while actually he has never done anything. Seen many cases of people who are still christian but now know only their effort matters and they should not expect anything from god.

sometimes, this so called miracle just happen by sheer providence. I know of a deaf and dumb teenager who got healed by receiving a dirty slap from one of his superiors at a mechanic village in lagos.

this boy was sent on a erand, he was more or less the erand boy in the workshop, his family enrolled him to learn mechanic after so much frustration in raising him.

The boy was sent on an errand, to cut the story short, he didn't run the erand as expected, anybody that have any form of closeness with mechanic villages will understand the temperaments of the people there. so the visibly angry senior gave the physically challenged teenager a sounding slap. lo and behold, this boy angrily reacted by uttering some words even though it was not clear. from that particular moment, his speech and hearings began to develop and in just a couple of weeks he was totally healed

this story can be confirmed at ilasamaja mechanic village in lagos. if this boy had been healed in a religious environment, the clergy would have taken the glory and the ministry will blossom as usual

there are so many miraculous things that happened in an un religious settings that are overlooked but given credence when it occurred in a religious house

to be candid, atheists are seen more or less like an outcast. they are scorned, intimidated, discriminated against and condemned by the excessively religious society of nigeria.

I lost my last regular paid job early this year just a couple of weeks it became public knowledge at my work place that I'm an atheist. in fact a female colleague seriously crushing on me then was devastated upon knowing about my religion perspectives. this girl fell ill, she eventually withrew from me

I never knew there are Nigerian female atheist, cos I've always wondered how possible is it for me to come across one within the shores of this country.

I think it's best for free thinkers to keep their religion perspective secret in other not to deny themself lots of good will and opportunities except you from a very influential and well to do background

Politics / Re: No One Can Stop Us From Grazing In The South — Fulani Herdsmen by santori: 9:51am On May 01, 2016
omenka:
When you set emotions aside and think this through and through, you'd see some sense in it.

ALL LANDS in the country belongs to the government according to the Land Use Act and the constitution guarantees freedom of movement.

Nomads move around to graze their cattle, selling some where possible, while other people equally dispersed across every nook and cranny of the country sell clothes, vehicular spare parts and other such commercial activities. I don't see anyone calling for a ban on such activities.

What we should be bothered about is mitigating clashes between herdsmen and their host communities by way of ensuring they don't graze on cultivated fields.
That is the angle I think the government should be looking at working on, perhaps they could ensure noticeable barriers are created so when these herdsmen see them, they know "this is a restricted area" and trespassers would be duly punished.

There are some people inflaming the whole situation just because of the occupant of Aso Rock- taint the Fulanis and you essentially have tainted the president. What better campaign tool would there be for a party known for extreme ethnoreligious politicking, PDP, in 2019 than "Buhari is a Fulani man and his brothers are killers. Look at what they have done. Would you want to have them come back and kill the rest of you??" That is where I think this whole drama is headed.

As usual, I expect a lot of overly emotional kids to do nothing but insult me over my opinion, but hell, it wouldn't change nada.

On the other thread where they did the same, I wondered, the same people who wanted to bury Buhari alive when it was alleged he said "Nigerians are criminals", claiming (and rightly so) NOT ALL Nigerians are (Baba didn't say Nigerians are though but only listed some crimes we engage in abroad which give the country a bad image), are the people crucifying the Northern governors for saying essentially NOT ALL Fulanis are criminals!!

How the heck does one adopt two different opinions on these two (exactly similar) scenarios??

guy, you are not making any sense at all. those people you claim are selling clothes and vehicular parts in all the nukes and crannies of the country are not doing at the expense of other people's livelihood, they have never been involved in violent clashes wherever they are, they rent the spaces they do their trade, they also pay taxes to their hosts.

all lands belongs to the government truly, which is of course state government. thank God 3 governors(oyo, ondo &enugu) have come to declare against the fulani roaming about in their domain.

we are in the 21st century for christ sake, the fulani herdsmen should acquire land to do their grazing, they can't just be roaming about on people's land in the name of herding.

people like you are the one that will nail buhari's coffin, just like Jonathanians did to Jonathan. you always feel you just have to defend him wether good or bad. but you don't know how much of a damage you are doing to him by not criticizing his handling of things when he falters. it's even better you had kept quiet than shamelessly defending him

I reckon only with people that are wise enough to be able to separate partisanship from what affects your existence. There is no way you can be politically correct all the time except you are a paid zombie.

guy!!!!! you are not making any sense
