My humble suggestion. the biggest psychiatric hospital in Nigeria is in the state capital abeokuta. it's popularly called ARO, so the authorities should do the needful |

Or do you struggle with the concept of percentages and how they contribute to the whole? what percentage are you allocating to akwaibom, rivers, delta, bayelsa, crossriver, edo and ondo. when you've already given a whopping 20% to imo and abia. thank god it's a common knowledge that imo and abia are in the rock bottom of the rankings of oil producing states. my advice: don't go about reeling out figures arbitrarily without getting your fact right |

EteEdoho: How about allowing each zone exploiting its resources and using it to develop at their own pace?. Lets agree, Kwara and Niger state are 36 and 76 respectively, and SE is 29385sqkms. Is that why you parasitically clinge unto ONE NIGERIA,because you want to take the resources from SE to feed the barren north?. If they are smaller in your imagination,to be developed by Nigeria, why not allow them use their resources and develop at their own pace?. BTW, it's only in Nigeria you hear useless logics. All around the world, developmental projects are channeled where they are most needed. And not based on the geographical size. going by your logic . can we now say Ghanas wealth was used to develop lagos since ghana was also controlled by the English |

Emekamex: Your excuse that it was built in 1896 by the British is a flawed logic, in that the British then were the equivalent of the present day FG; Nigeria was their colony and they used our wealth as a country to carry out those projects. there was no Nigeria then. the eastern flank of Nigeria has it's hq in calabar. southwest is provincial, the abeokuta province and the rest, lagos was on it's own then. It's just an exit point for goods from the hinterlands of the current day Nigeria. lagos is like a mecca that will always attract ppl cos of it's strategic location and the peaceful dispositions of its indigenous p |

obailala: Bro, everything in life mustn't be seen as a competition. This is just the first out of 4 budgets to come, we still have the 2017, 2018 and 2019 budgets. The budget for the SW dwarfs every other region because of the priority given to the Lagos-Ibadan road. Priority was given to that road for 3 main reasons, it's the busiest road in Nigeria (in terms of vehicular traffic), it's the most economically viable road in Nigeria (given that it leads into and out of the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria) and its construction is already ongoing and at an advanced stage; the idea is to complete already progressing contracts instead of littering the nation with incomplete projects.
Once again, this is just the first out of 4 budgets to come, we still have the 2017, 2018 and 2019 budgets. in addition, the lagos/ibadan road is as important to the south east as the 2nd niger bridge is to the south east. that is the only road that lead to the south east from lagos. The roads that are more peculiar to the yoruba ppl in particular are not evn getting the attention of the government |

kayfra: When you've participated in international trade, you will understand the concept of insurance. For any shipper to agree to ship goods out to those ports, they have to pass the cost of increased insurance premiums to the people that want to ship goods to that region. Increased insurance means increased shipping fees and also the dangers in the water means more chances of a force majeure.
Nobody wants to play emotional politics with their containers, not my igbo business oriented friends. They'll rather use Lagos for obvious reasons coz it's a lot more cheaper landing cost. If you and I both sell product X, I ship to Lagos and you ship to Onne and we both sell in the SE markets. I'll out compete you every damned day, 365 days of the year.
For crude shipments, the cost of high insurance is already factored in and we also don't have any other feasible port to ship oil other than those ones. This increases our cost of crude and it's one of the reasons we can't sell crude as competitive as Angola. Those sea pirates and miscreants have jacked up our costs! |

whiteboyswag: Pls house let's have a matured and sensitive discussion, pls I'm here to learn no base. In the past years we have seen lagos grow and still growing into a mega city where every local government area have benefited heavily and even neighbouring States benefiting from its overflow because of major activities happening in the state one of which is the tincan port apapa which generates more than 60 percent of internal revenue for the state. My question is with all the traffic gridlock in the state why is it that most goods(cars mostly) still come in only though lagos. point of correction. the revenues collected from the port goes to the federal purse and it's shared among all the federating states |
