blacksam01: guyz..this habit has been on and off during my teenage years and mom cautioned us against not wearing a foot wear ( shoe particularly) so we dont get peirced by sharp object..we end up weari g them to bed most of the time..and sh comes to remove them
...during my varsity days..in economics department it was mandatory to always wear shoes or sandals by both male nd female, as pam slippers are banned. i prefered shoe cuz of our outlook which usually resemble bankers outlook ( of course pam will make a nonsense of it..
watching movies , also news i noticed that Nigerians aare the only people on earth aside the arabs dt dont wear shoes..so it solidified my stance..many atimes i see guyz return from abroad and hardky can move around without wearing good shoes...
i wore shoes for straight 4years in my varisty days
after skl.. interviews days outlook and of course most of my school like clothing became my norm..i hv since gotten adicted to shoes dat i salivate on seeing good ones..
currently i tend to see ppl ( especially guys ) who dont wear shoe as shabily dressed and nomata what they wear and how expensive it is....they look like well dressed tout..
please am.i normal..?
i mean like i wear shoes like 90% of the time..only in my compound or neighborhood do i wear pam slippers..and i hate to buy them
it lead me to ask the question...why are Nigerians not wearing shoes most of the time...? |

yemzone: My Review of the Presidential/Senatorial and House of Reps Election
It is no doubt that, to a large extent, in many polling units, election was conducted peacefully. In my polling unit (PU), it was peaceful as well, left for quarrels in the queue. I feel INEC should be commended for this. The introduction of Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) has really made voting so easy and rigging difficult. However, there are few lapses I feel INEC should work on.
INEC should employ more ad-hoc/permanent staff for its job. It is sad that despite INEC being visibly understaffed, they deliberately decided not to select some personnel for the job. These reasons are best known to them. I can say that I have friends who took part in the three-day training and were not selected, and there were polling units that lacked polling officials.
For instance in my unit, we didn't see our Assistant Presiding Officer (APO III). We called this guy, at first his number didn't go through, later it rang unpicked. Assistant Presiding Officer II (APO II) and I alongside Presiding Officer (PO) did a tedious work that would have been easier if APO III were around. APO III should be the queue controller.
It wasn't easy controlling these people mehn. At some point, I was mildly intimidated when I said elderly people should be attended to first. E be like say I dey follow INEC training gbagba.
Come and see how everyone dey claim old. But I overcame the intimidation. Thank goodness, one of the youth leaders coordinated the crowd. There was no Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO) as well and Registration Area Technology (RATECH). None of them strolled our Polling Unit and even the ones nearest to us.
At some point, we needed them to be present when we wanted to count votes. We had to proceed when people's grievances were getting to our ears. I also had an issue with the BVAS: I mistakenly exported accredited data before the end of accreditation. Omo, come and see sweat for my body. Thank God for bad network, the kind beating wey I go chop ehn 😂
Another area I want INEC to look into is the issue of logistics in terms of transportation. Our team came to the polling unit past 9. The earlier the poll starts, the better, especially for polling units with many registered voters.
Lastly, the issue of security should not be taken lightly. Let me tell you, forget all the promises by the FG that there would be a tight security at PU. In my PU, only one police officer manned more than two polling units. If it was a violent-prone area, you know what could have happened.
How did election go in your area? Please why's everybody not posting results of presidential candidate Mrs Princess Chichi? |

Sports › Re: Graham Potter: Fans Told Me They Want Me And My Kids To Die”. by saphiere(f): 9:26am On Feb 25, 2023 |
obembet: Graham Potter has revealed he has received emails “that want me to die and want my kids to die” following Chelsea’s dismal run of form.
The 47-year-old was booed off the pitch last weekend after a 1-0 defeat to Southampton and go into a crucial London derby match with Tottenham having collected just two wins from 14 matches. However, a defeat against rivals Tottenham on Sunday would once again leave him vulnerable to anger in the stadium and online from his own supporters.
Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon, Potter revealed the messages directed at him and his three children. He said: “The world is tough for everybody. We’re going through an energy crisis, a cost of living crisis. People are striking every other week. Things are difficult so nobody wants to hear about the poor old Premier League manager.
“Nevertheless if you ask me a question about ‘is it hard? is it tough? is it nice to hear,?’, as much as I’ve had support, I’ve had some not particularly nice emails come through that want me to die and want my kids to die. So that’s obviously not pleasant to receive.
“That’s football. That’s how it is. And the challenge for me is ‘Ok, how do I conduct myself?’ That’s what I always turn round to. The higher you go, the more pressure you have on how you are as pre-season.
“My message is that you have got to take the situation for what it is, take the criticism, take the position that we are in, which is that it should be better.
“Try to have a perspective but at the same time acknowledge the criticism and bad feeling. That’s how it should be.”
The Blues are supporting their manager in any way he needs but will leave him to decide whether to involve the authorities or take further action.
Potter accepts that a certain amount of abuse is part of the job but it is one that he doesn’t enjoy and has been a challenge for him and his family to overcome.
“So there is an element of that and I want to succeed here so it’s nonsense this notion that I don’t care so it’s ‘ok where does that come from?’ Where is your evidence on that?’
“Ask my family. Because people have a perception that you don’t care and my response is what is that based on? How do you know?
“And I would ask you to ask my family how life has been for me and for them. It has not been pleasant at all.
“I understand that supporters go home and they are really annoyed because their team is not winning. But I assure you my life for the past three or four months has been daily average apart from the fact that I am really grateful for this experience that I can get this but also say what a great challenge this is.”
