Religion / Re: Pastor Kumuyi: I Will Remove Some Doctrines Of Deeper Life (Throwback Video) by SarcasticMe(m): 11:18pm On Feb 24, 2018
It is appalling to see some churches laying great emphasis on tithes and paying less concern to the subject of holiness. It is these kind of churches that justify Freeze's argument. But Freeze's argument is wrong; and only wrong can justify wrong.

Pastors who lay so much emphasis on tithes do so because of the levite laws. That's where they shoot themselves, because the "law" doesn't bind us as Christians; which justifies Freeze's stance.
But, tithe paying preceded the Mosaic law. Abraham paid his tithe to Melchizedek, a priest of God (Gen. 14:20/ Hebrews 7)... Melchizedek, of course was a worthy priest, unlike many fake pastors we have these days. Here's my message to Christians, who face a dilemma concerning tithing:
Pay your tithes to your pastor for a job well done. If his teachings and intercessions have brought you closer to God. (Mind you, some pastors are doing their job very well. It's just some members who are not willing to adhere.)
But... If you're tricked into paying your tithes because you expect prosperity and blessings, and you are not living a holy life, either of these two things will happen:
-It's either you keep paying tithe and nothing happens. You continue to wallow in poverty. If this is your case, you should reexamine your spiritual life and get closer to God.
-Or the prosperity comes as expected. Then you should know that it is not from God. When you prosper in sin, it is a sign that your soul is at risk of eternal damnation.

The bottom line is, live a holy life and pay your tithes, bearing in mind that it is for the upkeep of your pastor; the pastor who prays for you and leads you in the path of righteousness. But... You're not compelled to do so. It is not by force.

I also have to note... When you're not living a holy life, your faith will be at the mercy of sugar-coated tongues. Most of these don't speak the truth, but because you are not even pursuing righteousness, you'll end up confused at the end of the day.

My confusion is why did you type it?
Are you trying to spite them or what?

Nairalanders that will like and share your comment are the real problem sha. I don't know why we've descended this low, morally. Someone will just type one insensitive comment and we will start liking and sharing because we find it funny.

Postpone anything that could disrupt your reading... Exam is only a couple of months, you'll have time for all other activities later.
The pain of failure is usually followed by the feeling of regret; when you'll ask yourself why you failed to prepare better... It's not a feeling you want to have, believe me.

So, put in all your best. Pray God opens your mind so you'll understand and not only crammmm.

The giver of the bribe is as much a criminal as the taker...
Most Nigerians are corrupt opportunists. Many of us are not in the position to steal billions, that's why we are off the corruption radar. But the evil done by many of us in our lowly positions will even surprise the devil... Because we are poor, we have now justified some behaviours, claiming that the politicians are worse.
Let's try to be fair in our dealings, if only for one year, and see the transformation.

First date, third date, hundredth date, Sex before marriage is completely wrong... Where's our pride??

Many of us know this but because society is promoting it, we also indulge it. My christian brothers and sisters, do not be deceived... there's nothing right about premarital sex; it leaves you empty and void. You claim to serve God, but you indulge shamelessly in sexual immorality. Let's not provoke the wrath of God. If your boyfriend or girlfriend can't do without sex, leave him/her or go and get married if you think you're made for each other.

It's not too late to stop the act and other societal filth along. Same goes to married folks who can't keep to their partners; desist from adultery. If premarital sex is seen as normal today, imagine what sort of thing they'll call normal tomorrow; all in the name of civilization.

Until we begin to really care about every issue, their unseriousness will continue.
As if the issue of the insecurity isn't enough, they also feel they can play with the emotions of those involved.
This is not a problem we can solve with elections alone, because it is a moral issue embedded deep in the society.
People don't care about these girls, they just need more excuses to vote out a bad leader. What then happens? We pluck another fruit from the same tree and expect a different taste.
Let's try to be more sensitive with every issue, even when they don't affect us. Let's live right. Let there be a moral revolution. Let's stop making jokes about issues. Because they would be afraid to do wrong when they know that we really care.

If you engage in premarital sex, you have no moral ground to insult her...
Yea, this is how low our society has descended and it will get worse unless we change our orientation on sex.
Sadly, many Christians, who are supposed to lay good examples, also indulge sexual immorality.
It kills us. I tell you, it kills us.

You said I should dust my archaic reasoning, that's a red card tackle, lol... Anyway, I love critics and my whole point since morning is the critic of the lifestyle of Christians.
How can we claim we are Christians when we live in sin and immorality. Many pastors have gone off the track of gospel; churches are only filled because of the promise of prosperity; youths worship on Sunday, and lavish away in sexual immorality all week... It's a circle of deception.
These are the things I criticize... Thanks.

so dust your archaic reasoning

Lol, how many of those countries have you been to? How familiar are you with their history? Do you know anything about their foundation?
Anyway, my message is directed at people who share this faith with me. That living a sinful and immoral life can indeed impede the growth of a nation. If you have another formula, go on and give us and stop tackling my faith.
It is my responsibility to remind Christians that they have a strong role to play in the development of this nation. A role which doesn't connote laziness or harmfulness in any way; so why do you tackle me or my believe?
What's wrong in living right?
I don't blame you sha. I blame us. We Christians, who continue to live sinful lives. Let's change our ways.

Simple message to christian folks:
Exercise your voting rights in 2019, bearing in mind that anyone you decide to vote for won't change your predicament until you turn back to God. Until we do away with the life of immorality and unrepentant sinfulness, we will surely continue to suffer alongside everyone in this country.
How can you believe in God, and continue to do the things He says you shouldn't do, and you think there wouldn't be any consequences. We are suffering the wrath of God and it could get worse, if we don't desist from our sinful ways. The rumors you hear are true; the killings are not ordinary and our freedom is at stake.
I don't see any other reason why this country will suffer when we have so many Christians in it. Let's change our ways, and this country will be better.

The society at large encourages such behavior and it is like a comfortable tumor that grows with people.

Family / Re: "How My Friend Tried To Destroy My Matrimonial Home" - Woman Reveals by SarcasticMe(m): 4:56pm On Feb 21, 2018
There's a thin line between doing good and making a grave mistake... You should always watch out for it. Even if the friend had no intention of causing havoc, imagine the constant unspoken communication between her and the husband. These things tend to happen and it's not only when you bring a friend/stranger into your matrimonial home.

Most humans are easy device in the hands of evil. And even a good person can suddenly become cold and evil when subjected to constant temptation. The wife is as much at fault as the friend and husband. A mistake she must learn from...
But, do they really learn?
She was so quick to post the thing online... Telling us to be careful of those kind of ladies. She should be careful of such mistakes.

TV/Movies / Re: BBNaija Vandora: I Was Voted Out For Not Kissing & Engaging In Sexual Acts by SarcasticMe(m): 8:08am On Feb 21, 2018
Sadly, immorality is becoming the norm, and right under our noses, it will soon become a necessity. What kind of parent will the youth of nowadays be?
Sadly, this is rampant in the religious circle too. You're supposed to be an example unto others, but you do all the things the Bible commands you not to do.

BBN is not my problem because whether we like it or not, there will always be one BBN around. My problem is that people are substituting values and morals for vices now and no one cares about that. Even on nairaland, we are here throwing jabs at one another, trying to be relevant in an irrelevant way. How will we build this nation when we don't see anything wrong in our own day to day activities.

All we ever needed was to live right. God help us to realize that sin is sin and immorality is the death of a people.

Family / Re: Are We Suggesting Men Cannot Be Good? by SarcasticMe(m): 3:20pm On Feb 20, 2018
I entered the thread thinking you were referring to man in the general sense. In my own opinion, however, both sexes are equally disposed to evil as they're to doing good. It can be argued on the one hand that women are even more likely to do wrong but on the other hand, they are also better placed to do right. It all depends on so many factors: upbringing, psychological... and an important one which is company. A woman can change her mind hundred times a day about the same issue, as long as she gives her ears to arguments and counter arguments.
Men are harder to convince of anything; either good or bad. But once they take up a behavior, it continues to live with them. It would take a great deal of expertise and luck to change a man.
The bottom line is: man, right from his childhood, must be thought values and morals and he'll most likely never depart from it. But, when he sets out on the wrong foot, it's even harder for him to retrace his steps.
Women, however, need to be in good hands till the very end. They're very emotional and easier to convince.

There's no way this nation will suffer when you live a holy life. But... It's sad to see how our society has fallen so low.
Let's kill immorality in all it's form: sexual most especially... and things will begin to fall in place.

BBN and all sorts of initiatives promoting sexual immorality must be done away with. I said it b4, immorality on all fronts is why we are failing as a nation. I agree that most people watching and condemning them are hypocrites but sending such message on live TV shows how quick we've gone down the drain.
The high rate of premarital sex among the youths is a major cause of the dearth of rational thinking.
Let's discourage every program that promotes such act...

Message to Christians: sin is sin... Stay away from sin at all cost. Live a holy life. It's not about going to church alone, it is about living a life worthy of emulation. Your religious leaders may backslide, don't tie your belief to anyone's.
Let's make this country great again. Immorality is the death of a nation. As Christians, you must end this, not indulge it.

Religion / Re: Is God Responsible For The Current Predicament The World Is Going Through? by SarcasticMe(m): 7:40am On Feb 18, 2018
God is fully aware of everything that happens in the world and nothing will happen if He doesn't allow it. But, He has also given man free will. Which means you can do as you will.

If you are a Christian, I will advise you to live a life of obedience, free of sin. Try your best to live a just life, not what society considers normal. Then enjoin other Christians not to substitute their faith for worldliness.
The more we obey God, the better our fate.
Religion / Re: A Question Directed To The Atheist by SarcasticMe(m): 7:23am On Feb 18, 2018
Charity begins at home...
When we, Christians begin to live as we should, there won't be need for such questions. But nowadays, you see so called Christians committing all sorts of sin and they're comfortable with it. How do you convince others that you serve a living God when you do anything you like and get away with it.
But we don't really get away with it, do we?
If Christians are really serving God the way they should, free of all immorality, then our country will be better.
Go and look at young people going to church nowadays, they go for the show. Old people go for breakthrough... Pastors want to enrich their pockets.
Circle of deception.
Most of xtian youth are unconscious atheist. Because believing in God means you acknowledge He watches your every act. Why will you then lavish in sin and call yourself a xtian?
God help us.
Religion / Re: Sex All Night And Then Church On Sunday Morning by SarcasticMe(m): 7:07am On Feb 18, 2018
That shows you how far we've fallen from Grace. I say 'we' because the bulk of young xtians don't see anything wrong in sin anymore.
This is the test of our faith. Even in the absence of physical prosecution, we find it hard to obey God... What will happen then if our faith comes under direct attack?
Let's try our best to live every day of our lives with the realization that sin is sin. Let's switch on that xtian conscience.
And for those who think they're righteous and feel no need to caution others, there are two dangers to this:
Firstly, when the wrath of God comes upon this nation, it will spare no one. That's why you see xtians suffering too.
Secondly, your faith is tied with others who claim to have the faith. One day you may just feel like giving up and who will be there?

I'm a devoted christian. I believe in Jesus And his teachings. But what I don't seem to understand is Why he hasn't changed my Sexuality. I've prayed. Threatened to harm myself, believing he'll heal me from homosexuality. But all to to no avail.

I've fasted. 5 days dry. I've been celibate for years but I still find myself attracted to members of my gender.

I'm very close to self hate because I feel disgusted with myself. I've tried to be straight. had several girlfriends but I don't seem to be sexually attracted to them. It just doesn't work.

What do I do? Please, help me. I need a miracle. I need an intervention. Else, I'll wallow in depression.

Insults are welcomed.

No matter what you do, do not engage in premarital sex... Whether gay or straight, fornication leads to hell.
If you're really a Christian, as you claim to be, then you should know that your sexual desires, be it male-intended or for the opposite sex, is something to be suppressed, till you're ready for marriage. Live a holy life, as Christ directed you, and you'll be free of all abnormality. Now, if you go on and heed to the urges you feel, it is a sin.
God help you as you help him to help you.
