Obstey01: You're making sense....... But you seem to have forgotten that Abj is the capital city and hence shouldn't be congested like Lagos, New york and oda great cities in d world. Mass immigration to Abj shouldn't be encouraged @ all. The current situation there is as a result of the obstruction of free flow of moni and uneven/complete lack of sources of maintenance for guys.My guy as El Rufai once said "Abuja was not constructed for poor people" likewise most other Mega cities around the globe. Every sensible government must have plans to create Mega cities and also plans for rural development - Trust me the is a reason for this! Not everyone is meant to be in the city. Fasholas seems to have the same massage as well. If you can not take the heat you leave the kitchen. Sounds though but that's life. |
demelza: Umm... Sir, you really cannot blame the 90% who have heard this kind of talk before with nothing to show for it. Like it is said in the local parlance "na today?" Dont act as if you dont know that the private sector here is controlled by those who have connections in government. So it doesn't matter if he says private or public sector, the money go still enter the same pockets. And I wont comment on you comparing Nigeria with Dubai because I want to believe you were being sarcastic. My guy just name one country you know that major developments are not carried out by the elite class and I will show you Mars. The main factor is that it is a development that will enreach a crosssection of the society from the very big landlords to the gate man. As TESCO says every little helps. |
ayoola2002: Mumuu...... Can u please, tell me the poverty level of those country you just mention?I struggle to respond to your question purely because it's one of the most unintelligent question I ve had to answer ( no insult meant)! Have you asked you self what made the poverty level of these countries low? Have you spent a few seconds to imagine the direct effect of the multi billion dollar effect this sort of project would have on the GDP of any country it is developed in? Do you realise the knock off effect this would have on the poverty level that you are so concerned about? How do you propose that the poverty level is automatically whipped off? |
Its so sad that 90% of Nigerians her on naira land are plainly stupid! How can this announcement not be welcomed? Look at the effect of such development in Dubai! East London etc? Do you guys just criticise for the sake of it? PRIVATE SECTOR DRIVEN is the key phrase here. If they build hospitals in S Africa we complain now they want to develop Nigeria some fools are opening their wide mouths |
It's such a pity that in this day and age person still dey ask this kind of question!! It makes me wonder how peoe think. My fellow men should fill greatly insulted by this question that seems to suggest that we can not control ourselves. Look at it this way does the maid need to serve his food for him to fall for her temptation? What about the time you are abroad or after having a baby? What about when you are at work on a late shift etc Basically why keep a house help if you don't trust your hubby/ her? How does he cope at work?? With his secretary etc Get a grip people |
Really Good this is what Baroness Chalker was talking about |
idowuswap: Igbos are the most animal that constituite nuisansical act in lasgidi.bcuzz if they go thief motor then go park am for road side so police no go fit get their clue.shittttttSo this is the best a man can reason? And we wonder why we have a string of issues in Nigeria. How can a man express such analysis before noon? Or is he hung over? |
People in the diaspora should advice these ignorant lagosians on the benefits of Fasholas deeds! People often say that these governors see who things are done abroad when they travel and yet can't introduce them in they states. Here we have a governor trying to upgrade our biggest city to a mega city and people are complaining. On the issue of more pressing issues, I wonder what it is more pressing in lagos than free flowing traffic and sanity on the roads. |
Are all of our sins—past, present, and future—forgiven once and for all when we become Christians? Not according to the Bible or the early Church Fathers. Scripture nowhere states that our future sins are forgiven; instead, it teaches us to pray, "And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors" (Matt. 6:12). The means by which God forgives sins after baptism is confession: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Minor or venial sins can be confessed directly to God, but for grave or mortal sins, which crush the spiritual life out of the soul, God has instituted a different means for obtaining forgiveness—the sacrament known popularly as confession, penance, or reconciliation. This sacrament is rooted in the mission God gave to Christ in his capacity as the Son of man on earth to go and forgive sins (cf. Matt. 9:6). Thus, the crowds who witnessed this new power "glorified God, who had given such authority to men" (Matt. 9:8; note the plural "men" . After his resurrection, Jesus passed on his mission to forgive sins to his ministers, telling them, "As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. . . . Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained" (John 20:21–23). Since it is not possible to confess all of our many daily faults, we know that sacramental reconciliation is required only for grave or mortal sins—but it is required, or Christ would not have commanded it. Over time, the forms in which the sacrament has been administered have changed. In the early Church, publicly known sins (such as apostasy) were often confessed openly in church, though private confession to a priest was always an option for privately committed sins. Still, confession was not just something done in silence to God alone, but something done "in church," as theDidache (A.D. 70) indicates. Penances also tended to be performed before rather than after absolution, and they were much more strict than those of today (ten years’ penance for abortion, for example, was common in the early Church). But the basics of the sacrament have always been there, as the following quotations reveal. Of special significance is their recognition that confession and absolution must be received by a sinner before receiving Holy Communion, for "[w]hoever . . . eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord" (1 Cor. 11:27). |

When they say people are uncivil one often wonders what is meant - this notion that armed robbery is the right substitute for not having an okada is an epitome of in civilisation & this is not intended to slight your opinion in any way! Sorry I meant epitome of uncivil thinking NOT (in civilisation ) that was a typo! |
mekaboy: LEAD IN WHAT? I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT EACH OF THOSE OKADAS REPRESENT A FAMILY, A CHILDS SCHOOL FEES, SOMEONES DAILY BREAD. AND AN OPEN DOOR FOR ARMED ROBBERY, KIDNAPPING AND INSECURITY. SO WHEN YOU NOTICE THE INCREASE OF ARMED ROBBERY IN LAGOS, DONT ASK WHERE IT CAME FROM. ITS ONE OF THOSE OKADAS YOU SEE THERE. THOSE CAUGHT OFFENDING SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY A FINE, INSTEAD OF DESTROYING THEIR MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD. ITS NOT LIKE GOVT PAYS WELFARE TO SUPPORT ANY CITIZEN, OR THERE ARE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, WHERE YOU CAN EASILY WALK IN AND GET A JOB. THOSE OF YOU PRAISING GOVT FOR THIS, SHOULD NOT BE SURPRISED, WHEN A PREVIOUS OKADA RIDER COMES TO ROB YOU AT NIGHT. When they say people are uncivil one often wonders what is meant - this notion that armed robbery is the right substitute for not having an okada is an epitome of in civilisation & this is not intended to slight your opinion in any way! These guys are expected to obey the law and this is fact. In any civil society if one chooses to break the law they must expect to be treated as outlaws. My dear friend it is not up to me or you to debate on the punishment as they were set before the these crimes were committed - my dear friends and indeed okada people have a right to contest a proposed punishment but they choose not to rather they broke the law. My dear friends let us be more civil in our thinking!!!!!!! |
This topic should be directed at people who have been married for more than five years and still have a good relationship with all their relatives NOT people who think its childsplay/ just have access to a computer. |
Just reading this trend I can tell the married men here from the single men! All these people shouting "be the man and do this and do that - tell him this and tell him that" clearly havent run a home for a second. My brother simple reminder -a car is only but metal as u noted when it is damaged you simply pass by a garage and it is fixed but remember that relationships cannot be fixed that Easley and even when you think it's fixed the memories lingers a life time. A price can be fixed on your car but not on any relationship Just bear the pain and desist from anything that would dent any relationship. |
This just goes to show that these so called suspects are make-believes !! They recruit young guys, give them same shirts & parade them as suspects. |

There were indications, Tuesday, that the extremist Islamic sect, Boko Haram may be considering the invitation to dialogue with the federal government as it named some Northern leaders to negotiate with the federal government on its behalf. The sincerity of those behind the video is engaging security analysts as it came on a day that multiple blasts rocked Kaduna town with security agencies and armed forces as target, in a Boko Haram fashion, although it had not claimed responsibility as at the time of going to press. Those named in a video on the NTA were: Sheik Abubakar Gero, Dr. Shettima Ali Monguno, Alh Ali Bukar Ibrahim, former Governor of Yobe State. The fourth name listed by the man behind the mask was not clear enough to be identified. The tape which NTA claimed was delivered by an unidentified source featured two figures, fully masked in black. Only the voice of one was heard, while the other was silent. “We here confirmed and accept the reported initiative of the President for a dialogue as a welcome development”, the speaker who did not identify himself said. According to him, the group trusts the named leaders and said “the decision taken by these people can actually change the whole situation”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/02/dialogue-with-fg-boko-haram-names-4-negotiators/ |
I take it that you are commending our president for perfurming up to par with other world leaders! |
Please join me in comending His Excellency President Goodluck E Jonathan for his exceptional performance today. He has demonstrated to be a man of diligence by being the first Nigerian president in recent times to present a budget for the following year before the end of the current year - this is a trait percale to exemplary leaders across the globe! Dare I say that this could be the flag off of a better year ahead!! Once again please join me in congratulating Mr President! |
GEJ has made history as the first Nigerian president in recent years to present the budget for the following year before the end of the current year - please join me in comending His Exelency!! |
eGuerrilla It's one thing to have a meaningful debate on a matter for the intrest of a nation and another very different thing to slander I do note suggest that people keep quite however I suggest that we apply an extent cautione in our post on the world wide web |
eGuerrilla - meaning Just my opinion some of us might not have realised how influential the web is!! |
I long to see the day we Nigerians would speak positively of an effort by an official to produce efficiency - I do not stand to say that our administrators are not corrupt however I must remind you all that their western counterparts are no saints either the only difference is that their subjects are far too advanced/patriotic to be seen speaking ill of them publicly. This should be our take too! It's called collective nation building for a purpose. Before posting any trend or comments on this site or any other PLEASE remember that it is open to the entire world and out here in the western world, opinions are being formed solely on the information that we have made available to them. Take the crippling credit crutch being battle with the western countries/ continent as an example - it loomed for many years but it was not common knowledge till it went out of hand; the scam of going to war in Iraq amongst a host of other poorly handled issues which are being kept quietly in other countries. Why then are we so quick to wash our dirty linen in public and sometimes prematurely? I must finish by reminding all of the old adage - 'Towho much is given much is eexpected! If we do not give our leaders any credit especially upon newly assumption of office, how can we expect any credibility in return? |
