kungbowa Aiwerie, Asaba Delta Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, and wife, Edith have tested positive for COVID-19. The development was sequel to tests conducted on them after a few days of self-isolation, which started on Friday after one of their daughters tested positive for the virus. The first family in the state, according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, are stable and have commenced necessary treatment and further isolation. Dasuki Introduced Buhari to Tinubu During 2011 Merger, Midwifed Negotiations- Kurfi, ex-CPC Chieftain …. IBB Assisted Buhari with money for elections Further, albeit exclusive details as to how the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) and Congress for Progressives Change (CPC), who were the legacy parties, teamed up to form a formidable political party since 2011 as emerged. Dr. Ahmed Kurfi, a former chieftain of the defunct CPC, said it was Col. Sambo Dasuki, immediate-past National Security Adviser (NSA), who introduced General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) to the then Leader of CPC to Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, the leader of ACN prior to 2011 presidential election. One year later after the election, Sambo Dasuki was appointed National Security Adviser by President Goodluck Jonathan of the People Democratic Party (PDP) on June 22, 2012. Kurfi said that together with Dasuki, Adamu Adamu, the current Minister of Education; Kabir Yusuf, the publisher of Daily Trust; and Wada Maida the former Chief Executive of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN); they visited the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader in Lagos, before the 2011 general elections. In an interview in the Sunday Sun, Kurfi said: “I was central to the negotiation of CPC and ACN which later became APC. I was the one who led the team that went to negotiate with Bola Tinubu,” he said. Kurfi, a self-professed revolutionary scholar, then added that APC, as a party, is just a coalition of various interests that came together to form a political party for the purpose of occupying political power; which means to enter political offices. His words: “So, if you look deeply and analytically, you will find that actually it is not a political party because all sorts of various political interests have come in.” Dr. Kurfi, while speaking further, strongly maintained that the long-standing ‘grudge’ existing between Buhari and Col. Dasuki is purely over ‘their’ military matter. “But the fact of the matter is that Sambo Dasuki was the one who even introduced us to Tinubu, because they were in exile together when Abacha was after them,” he said. Dr. Kurfi, a former Director of Research and Strategy in the defunct CPC, revealed that Dasuki is the “one who went between Buhari and Babangida because Babangida also assisted Buhari with money for his elections.” He added: “And you know the whole campaign we did for Buhari in ANPP, it was with Sambo. It was Sambo who initiated this meeting. It was Sambo who was in between. He was the one who made the arrangements and when we fly to Lagos it was Sambo who will make the necessary arrangements. But you know the military; it’s just like what Adamu Ciroma said in one of his many interviews. He said they say Buhari is unforgiving and said why should he not forgive? He overthrew a democratically elected government and put Shagari in detention; so if you are removed by the same people you used to overthrow Shagari why should you complain?” Kurfi, then added: “I can tell you that all the campaigns we did around the country Sambo was with us. And you know Sambo has a lot of networks. If you want a detribalized Nigerian that is Sambo. You will see him so comfortable with every Nigerian regardless of your tribe, religion or whatever.” It would be recalled that the ex-NSA in ‘An Encounter with the Spymaster’, a book written by a Public Relations (PR) professional, Mr. Yushau Shuaib, disclosed how he knelt before ex-governors of Osun and Lagos State, Bisi Akande and Bola Tinubu, to accept Buhari as the joint Presidential candidate of ACN and CPC, in 2011. The book revealed that the merger failed to win the presidential election when Buhari rejected a joint ticket with Osinbajo as he chose Pastor Tunde Bakare instead as the running-mate for the 2011. Similarly, Alh. Mustapha Jokolo, who was the Aide de Camp (ADC) to Mr. Buhari after the coup that toppled the government of President Shehu Shagari, in an interview in 2018, said the former NSA was a financier and facilitator of the 1983 military coup which terminated Nigeria’s Second Republic and installed Buhari as Head of State. The immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has died at age 70 after battling coronavirus-related symptoms for a month, The PUNCH has learnt. Ajimobi, who was governor from 2011 to 2019, was named the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the ruling All Progressives Congress last month but never resumed. The former governor was hospitalised at First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos on June 2, 2020. He was said to have tested negative for COVID-19 but the illness had caused his health to deteriorate. Ajimobi’s wife, Florence, had earlier been hospitalised with her husband. She was, however, discharged. He was said to have been confirmed positive earlier and was managing the situation at home before the illness worsened and he had to go to a hospital. Someone told me CBN governor Emefiele was so alarmed by the hundreds of billions Sabiu "Tunde" Yusuf has in his name in personal bank accounts that he advised Sabiu to mask some of the bank accounts and to divvy up the amounts in them to save his neck in a post-Buhari dispensation. Sabiu reportedly said the billions in his accounts are "gifts" from from people. But why didn't he get such "gifts" when he was a recharge card seller? Accepting "gifts" for favors done while occupying a privileged government position (he's Buhari's Private Secretary and de facto Chief of Staff) is against the law. Aisha Buhari, who is herself neck-deep in unimaginable corruption, has commissioned people to take photos of Sabiu's multi-billion naira properties all over Nigeria. You may soon start seeing it on social media. NORTHERN ELDERS FORUM: STILL GENERAL WITHOUT TROOPS – PRESIDENCY The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) in a statement Sunday signed by its so-called Convener, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, alleged that the insecurity in some northern states of the country was an indication that President Muhammadu Buhari and the governors of those states have lost control over the protection of the people which is a constitutional duty. We are not surprised by this latest statement by Prof. Abdullahi, and our past position on what his group represents remains unchanged: a mere irritant and featherweight. The former vice chancellor signed the statement under the banner of Northern Elders Forum (NEF). Hearing that title, you would think the body was a conglomeration of true elders. But the truth is that NEF is just Ango Abdullahi, and Ango Abdullahi is NEF. It is a quasi-organization that boasts of no credible membership, and its leader is akin to a General without troops. Before the 2019 presidential election, the one-man army called NEF had shown its antipathy against President Buhari, and its preference for another candidate. They all got beaten together. The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has ordered a probe into alleged security breach inside the Presidential Villa. This was made known in a statement by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, on Sunday. There had been reports of gunshots and a breach of security within the Presidential Villa recently. The situation was said to have been as a result of a squabble among family members and officials of the Presidency. Friday Olokor A former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2019 general elections, Uche Nwosu, has called on the South East to apologise to other geo-political zones and get their support for the realisation of the 2023 Presidency. He, however, cautioned that the agitation of the Presidency in 2023 was too early because it could constitute a distraction to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd). According to him, the emergence of Buhari since 2015 will be the shortest route to Igbo Presidency in Nigeria. SAN FRANCISCO, June 12, (THEWILL) – The power tussle in the Presidential Villa between First Lady Aisha Buhari and Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf, the President’s influential Personal Assistant and favourite nephew, has taken a dangerous turn that could undermine security at the Presidential Villa, with the President’s top security aides’ loyalty split between the opposing camps. The Villa was thrown into confusion, Thursday night, when the First Lady accompanied by her children – Zahra, Halima and Yusuf, – took a team of policemen led by her Aide-De-Camp to forcefully confront Tunde following an earlier heated disagreement over his refusal to self-isolate after his trip to Lagos to see his wife, who had just given birth to a boy. Sources familiar with the event said on reaching the House 8 Guest Chalet of the President, where Tunde resides with his family, there was an altercation between him and Mrs. Buhari, her children and her security aides that eventually snowballed into a near fatal brawl. ***Our sources said Tunde, who appeared helpless and clearly outnumbered had to flee on foot. “This was when Mrs. Buhari’s ADC and four members of her police escort fired some shots into the air as they pursued him. He had been seriously wounded at this time but successfully made it to the residence of Mamman Daura where he would shelter for the night,” a source in the Presidential villa told THEWILL. The source said the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, following a briefing on the horrific incident arrived the Presidential Villa Friday morning and ordered Mrs. Buhari’s ADC and all the police personnel attached her who took part in the altercation and shooting arrested and detained. Narrating the ugly incident to THEWILL, the source at the Villa, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “Let me explain what is really going on so that your journal and your readers can truly understand what is happening in the Villa now, the dynamics and 2023 presidential politics. “Since Mallam Abba Kyari died, the First Lady has been trying to kick the President’s Personal Assistant who is also his nephew, Tunde (The president named him Tunde in honour of the late Tunde Idiagbon, his former deputy when he was military head of state) out of the Villa so that she can effectively wield full influence over him (The President). “She believes Tunde and the President’s other relatives are blocking her from having full control of her husband and power in the Villa. But it is obvious that the President does not want this because he has encouraged Tunde to continue with his job. “Tunde’s wife just delivered a boy in Lagos. So, he got the President’s approval to fly to Lagos to see her with his two sisters last weekend. He returned to Abuja last Sunday and returned to work on Monday. He was however asked to self-isolate for 14-days because of the coronavirus pandemic by the Chief Personal Security Officer to the President, Abdulkarim Dauda and the President’s Aide-De-Camp, Mohammed Abubakar, but he told them that the President said he shouldn’t. “On Thursday, when the First Lady heard that he was still coming to work, she asked him to self-isolate but he told her that the President said he didn’t have to. Her insistence led to a heated verbal exchange between them and the President was later informed about this. The President however took sides with Tunde and didn’t see any reason why he should self-isolate at all. He said Zahra and Halima (Buhari’s daughters) left the villa to visit their in-laws when Halima’s husband’s uncle died recently and they didn’t self-isolate on their return. He also pointed to the fact that when his new Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, went to Lagos too, he didn’t self-isolate on his return, so he didn’t see any reason why Tunde should. So, he overruled her. “What happened on Thursday night is a big embarrassment. The First Lady and three of her children – Zahra, Halima and Yusuf – took some policemen attached to her, including her ADC to Tunde’s house. They didn’t like the way Tunde spoke to their mother, so they actually went there to fight him.
