Earlier today, I received hundreds of APC Members that decamped to our great party, @OfficialPDPNig at the inauguration ceremony of State Excos of UBANDOMA UNITY ORGANISATION. I also commissioned the new head office of the organisation located in Gagi Area of Sokoto South LG.

Katsina State is where @atiku is getting his highest votes. Last month was Baure and today is Safana LG. More than 100k APC members decamped to @OfficialPDPNig this afternoon. @SenLadoDanmarke received them after burning their Brooms.

FORMER PERMANENT SECRETARY, BAR. HUSSAINI MAGAMA, JOINS PDP FROM NNPP

The former permanent secretary, Jigawa State ministry of justice and a leading member of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Barr. Husaini Magama has formally defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have described the defection of former deputy governor, Sule Katagum, to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a disgrace.

Political appointees of former Governor Mohammad Abubakar, led by Isa Matori, while speaking at the APC Next Level Office in Bauchi, yesterday, said the former deputy governor “is a political jobber and scavenger” out to destroy the party that brought him to limelight.

Matori alleged that Katagum had at a separate gathering in Azare and Darazo, adding that all Abubakar’s political appointees agreed to work for the re-election of PDP’s Bala Mohammed in 2023.

“We feel duty-bound to react to the false claims therein and caution faithful party members to stand against it and any machination by political jobbers and scavengers to demean the former governor. The team has been contracted to work against the victory of APC and its candidate, Amb. Sadique Abubakar, in the 2023 election.

“The group’s attention has been drawn to a statement and a footage from Bauchi, Azare and Darazo under a purported committee featuring the former deputy governor of Bauchi as the convener and a number of few persons who once served the regime of former Governor Mohammed Abubakar, going viral on news media and claimed to be working for the former governor, urging his supporters to vote for PDP’s Mohammed in the 2023 governorship election. What a disgrace to honour!” he said.

According to him, the former governor, as a reputable lawyer, undoubtedly submissive to the party’s constitution and other relevant statute documents regulating behaviour and conducts of members, is not the type that would reduce himself to anti-party behaviour and a life similar to that of a political jobber or a scavenger.

His words: “Therefore, the former deputy governor and his cohorts on such dishonourable political voyage must not continue with the task they are doing for PDP, but must not work at destroying the party that brought them to political limelight from oblivion. How soon has the former deputy governor forgotten the way APC was robbed of its victory in the 2019 general election by PDP?.

“Has he forgotten how silly the former governor was ridiculed and insulted during the last general elections by the present government of PDP by their characteristic manner of reckless and unguided utterances of perceived political opponents?”

As the 2023 election gathers steam, Hajiya Azumi Namadi Bebeji, who represented Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Bebeji alongside many of her supporters switched from the APC to the NNPP on Sunday.

The decampees were received by Abba Kabir-Yusuf, the Kano State governorship candidate of the NNPP.

Also present at the event were Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the NNPP Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of Kano State; and Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, a former member of the House of Representatives for Sumaila/Takai Constituency in Kano state. Kawu is also a former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly matters, and the Kano South senatorial candidate of the NNPP in respect of next year’s election.

Honestly, I do not believe the stories of Atiku's corruption, not only because I have not seen enough evidence, but also because it does not match his personality type. Someone who can get rich legitimately will not descend to stealing and corruption.

Whatever corruption allegations attributed to Atiku are nothing but tales of lies by Obasanjo to tarnish Atiku’s chances of becoming President , there’s not enough evidence to show that Atiku Abubakar is corrupt.

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) Buhari Supporter Organisation (BSO) have decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the decampees were received in Kano on Tuesday by Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the main opposition party, PDP.

In his opening remarks at the occasion, the leader of one of the support groups, Engr. Bello Bichi stated that their mission is to support the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar, who according to him, is the best candidate to rescue Nigeria “out of the current deplorable situation”.

Speaking in the same vein, Alhaji Abubakar Kabir Babawo, the Director-General (DG) of the Atiku Support Group, appreciated Ayu for “the morale-boosting event” of bringing Senator Ibrahim Shekarau back into the party’s fold.

Shekarau formally joined the PDP from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

The @OfficialPDPNig admonishes the failed @OfficialAPCNg not to bother to campaign in the 2023 general elections as the APC cannot secure the statutory 25% of votes in most States of the country.

The mammoth crowd that greets @OfficialPDPNig’s rallies including the recent rallies in Kano and Katsina States are clear messages to the @OfficialAPCNg that they have been rejected by the people and have no foothold in the 2023 general elections.

The fact that Nigerians from all walks of life in Kano State, the political, commercial nerve center of the North and national melting point, defied the rain in massive show of solidarity to the @OfficialPDPNig and our Presidential Candidate, @atiku, underscores their determination to break through all barriers and return the @OfficialPDPNig to power in 2023.

The current mass exodus from the @OfficialAPCNg into the @OfficialPDPNig as being witnessed in most States including President @MBuhari’s home State of Katsina highpoints the consensus by Nigerians that the APC has irredeemably failed and that the PDP remains the only vehicle to rescue and rebuild the country from misrule of the @OfficialAPCNg.

The takeover of President @MBuhari’s campaign office by the @OfficialPDPNig in his home Katsina State following the defection of critical APC stakeholders in the State, signals the surrender of the APC and its structure to the PDP in President @MBuhari’s supposed strongholds.

Nigerians have seen through the lies and falsehood of the incompetent, rudderless, insensitive, divisive, bloodthirsty and terrorism-enabling @OfficialAPCNg that has brought nothing but misery, economic hardship, hatred, unprecedented disunity and bloodletting …to our nation in the last seven years.

Nigerians have seen the @OfficialAPCNg in its true identity; a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV); a pirate ship of inchoate sailors and strange bed fellows clobbered together for remote personal gains, not for governance and public good.

From all indications, under a credible, free, fair and transparent electoral process, the @OfficialAPCNg cannot secure the statutory 25% of votes in most States across the country.

Our Party therefore admonishes the @OfficialAPCNg not to bother to campaign in Kano, Katsina, other States of the north and of course in other geo-political zones of the country as Nigerians have already aligned with the @OfficialPDPNig to return our nation to the path of unity, national cohesion and economic prosperity.

The @OfficialPDPNig commends the former Governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau and millions of other well-meaning Nigerians for their patriotism in rallying on the platform of the PDP to rescue our nation from the stranglehold of the vicious @OfficialAPCNg.

The @OfficialPDPNig urges all Nigerians of goodwill not to be deterred but remain hopeful and join forces on the platform of the PDP to resist the shenanigans and manipulations of the @OfficialAPCNg ahead of the 2023 general elections.

President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday said for the 2023 elections, the government will ensure that Nigerians don’t get intimidated, or humiliated by those in positions, or the more privileged.

The President said this while receiving members of Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) led by Chairman and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, at the State House, Abuja.

“We will not allow anyone to use personal resources or their influence to intimidate other Nigerians. We will not allow intimidations materially, morally or physically. This is the kind of leadership that can emerge and consolidate our nation.

“In six months, Nigerians will appreciate the government of APC that we are sincere and we respect them,’’he added.

President Buhari, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) political leaders to intensity efforts in “thinking, meeting and strategizing for the 2023 elections.’’

The President, who opened up on the reasons why he believed in non-interference in the political process, said non-interference in elections gave credence to the political process, ensured participation and inclusiveness, and showed that the governing APC respected the electorate.

He assured Nigerians that the APC would continue to bequeath strong political institutions that reflected their choices, through non-interference in elections, citing outcome of polls in Ekiti, Anambra and Osun States as indicators.

President Buhari said APC, under his leadership, will continue to respect Nigerians by ensuring that their votes count and the people’s voice matter in choosing political leaders at different levels.

“I want Nigerians to know that we respect them, and for us to show that we will allow them to vote who they want. We all witnessed what happened in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States. What happened in those states gives me a lot of hope that we are succeeding.’’

In his remarks, the Chairman of the PGF thanked the President for his leadership, guided by wisdom and foresight, saying that the Nigerian economy had been growing, in spite of challenges.

“We want to congratulate you on the positive trajectory of the economy, with the 3.5 per cent growth in the second quarter, up from 3.1 per cent of the first quarter of this year. Infrastructure projects are ongoing in parts of the country, and the social intervention programme is expanding,’’ Bagudu stated.

The governor said the growth trajectory had defied initial predictions of some multilateral institutions, affirming that the World Bank and others had acknowledged the resilience of the economy, and reviewed their positions.

“Your Excellency, as we speak, there is drought in Europe and China. The Ukraine-Russia war is taking a toll on economies. In the UK, there is rationing of electricity, and energy shortages in China.

“While other countries are banning food export, we are preparing for more production, in spite of floods in places like Jigawa State. We note your instruction for the release of 40,000 tonnes of grains.

“We also note efforts on improving security and measures to cut oil theft,’’ he said.

The PGF Chairman told the President that some APC governors were contesting elections for second term in 2023 with impressive records in their first term.

“We note the pronouncement of ASUU. We recall the appeal of the President to ASUU while we were visiting Daura that they should consider the future of students. We will not dwell on that now. We are ready to accept any negotiations for resolution,’’ Bagudu added.

The Kebbi State Governor commended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, for their steadfastness and stewardship.

Delivering the sermon in Hausa, he said, “The governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu, called for a peace treaty between the leaders of OPC, Hausa, Igbo, and the police.

“Everyone was present and signed the treaty except the OPC leader, who disagreed and refused to sign.

“The governor allowed him to go, and investigation showed that they were the sponsor of OPC with ammunition and fund.”

In Katsina, the PDP Senatorial candidate of Katsina North, Ahmad Babba-Kaita, has just acquired Buhari's first known campaign office in his home town, Daura.

Buhari originally acquired the office in 2002 when he joined the defunct All People's Party in 2002.

Don't forget that Ahmad and Buhari's nephew, Fatuhu Muhammad (he vowed to destroy APC) recently defected to the PDP.

The APC really has a uphill task in Katsina. If elections were held today, the PDP will win the state. But six months is a hell of a time in politics.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Katsina State PDP chapter’s chance of reclaiming power got a boost as about 20,000 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP dumped their parties at President Muhammadu Buhari’s Daura Senatorial zone.

The mass defection event took place at the Baure which is one of the Local Government Areas under the Katsina North Senatorial zone, popularly called Daura senatorial zone where President Muhammadu Buhari comes from.

Some defectors are from Mai’adua, Zango and Baure local government areas.

The decampees destroyed their initial party membership cards and burnt the symbol of APC which is the broom.

At the event led by the State Party chairman, Salisu Majigiri, the Governorship Candidate Senator Yakubu Lado, Senatorial candidate and serving senator from Daura zone, Ahmed Baba-Kaita, other top PDP members and candidates said, the mass defection in one local government alone from the President’s zone is telling Nigerians that it is the begining of the end for the APC.

They also attributed the mass exodus of particularly the APC members to the current state of the nation where Nigerians are feeling the severe pains of 8 years of the APC maladministration and hardship, especially the issue of insecurity.

Majigiri also hinted that, most of the decampees are supporters of Buhari’s nephew and member representing Daura/ Sandamu/Mai’adua, Fatuhu Muhammed who recently resigned his membership from the APC following his inability to secure his reelection bid.

The PDP is therefore hopeful that in the coming days, it will continue witnessing mass movements and defections of notable members from the APC and other parties which will make its chances very smooth at the 2023 general elections.

Believe me, the pictures from Katsina aren’t even doing justice to the crowd. It’s scary. The crowd is more or less equivalent to a full-capacity Wembley stadium multiplied by 10. It’s electric! PDP is undoubtedly not playing this time.

Gombe, from the surveys we have conducted so far, is intact for Atiku Abubakar. Results had shown to us that he's getting at least 70% of the total votes in 2023. Tinubu comes second with 25%. The remaining 5% goes to both Peter Obi and Engr. Kwankwaso. That's all for all here.
