When Kings Decide
Genre: Drama
Starring: most of the annoying actors and actresses in order of annoyance; Hanks Anuku, , Van Vicker, Mercy Johnson
Rating: 16%
This movie had a queen with a full beard, actors with terrible accents (Hanks Anuku) plus lo and behold there was no sound in some of the scenes. I can't fathom why Hanks Anuku who sounds like he has a frog stuck in his throat is accepted to act in Nigerian movies. This guy always has a forced "American accent" where he uses unnecessary slang and dresses like he had a fling with the goth section of a thrift store.
This movie seems like they lifted a carbon copy from "Coming to America" and added a little twist. |

Freesia: LOL totally agree with you on that
I have fully converted to Yoruba movies they are shorter & more straight to the point I enjoy them even more with subtitles I think I will just take that up. The Nollywood I am watching, though I love them for the most part always have Ghanaian actors especially Van Vicker when it is most unnecessary. Are there really no Nigerians that can act as prince? Seriously a prince in Africa doesn't have to be light. His roles are repetitive and his acting quiet boring. |

MzD@rkSkin: Two whites cannot produce black children, EVER. That white woman slept with a black man and produced three children. Her dunce of a husband has some nerve being prejudiced being that dumb. Actually there is an instance of a black couple in England who had two white children at different times. DNA tests proved that both parents were genetically related 100% to the children. If that can happen then for sure the reverse can also be true. A blood test was done in the 70s that prove that this girl had a white father. Here is another story: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3060907/Black-parents-give-birth-to-white-baby.html |

aloy/emeka: Uche Okafor was murdered – FBI Sports Jan 26, 2011
There has been a twist in the death of former Eagles’ defender, Uche Okafor as the Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI) claimed in a report yesterday that the player was murdered.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/uche-oo1.jpg Late Uche Okafor
Uche was found hanging at his Dallas, Texas home earlier this month and a preliminary report by the Dallas police ruled that the easy-going defender hanged himself. But his family, friends and the Nigerian community in America rejected the suicide claims as they suspected foul play.
The FBI stepped into the controversy last week after protests from the family members who even alleged racism for the shoddy investigation over the death of the player. And the latest findings have confirmed the suspicion of murder held by many of the former Eagles’ admirers. The FBI report however, did not state who killed Uche Okafor or why his life was terminated.
This piece of information from the USA, will interest the Nigerian government. The foreign affairs Minister, Odein Ajumogobia declared only on Monday that Nigeria was awaiting the result of the FBI report, before the country could take necessary action.
A source close to the family disclosed that the latest twist in the death of the player was quite a relief to his tribesmen who are holding on to an ancient myth that it was a taboo for an Ibo man to take his own life.
Uche Okafor’s Eagles colleagues and indeed Nigerians also struggled to come to terms with the death of the player who was comfortably living with his wife and daughter. He was into business and also into football commentary with ESPN sports.
It was gathered that the corpse of the departed player will be flown in for burial next month.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/01/uche-okafor-was-murdered-fbi/ Wow!! Interesting to know there is a foreign affairs minister. I wonder if the Nigerian government have heard of the incident that happened in SA or maybe its not as important to them. |

Celebrities › Re: Mercy Johnson Goes Bald For A Movie Role by savanaha: 10:01pm On Jan 25, 2011 |
Its so sad how ignorant some people can be. Everybody is bitching that Nollywood is backwards because of head mask, blah, blah. Yet in Hollywood Natalie Portman went bald for the movie V for Vendetta and was lauded for taking her role seriously. Halle Berry didn't shower or shave for two weeks to get in character for Jungle Fever. But if a Nigerian does it, it because loving money and not putting your best effort for something you want to do. Idiots!! |

My Thoughts
Why does the Ghanaian movie industry feel that it must import light skinned actors/actresses and actors/ actresses with American accent? Also why do most of the story lines have really nothing to do with the African culture? What is the point of making Hollywood type movie with bad accenting in a culture where it doesn't really come across comfortable? I have noticed this saddening trend and it makes the movie watching process so uncomfortable. |

Bloods Apart 1 & 2
Genre: Drama
Starring: Patience Ozokwor, Pete Odochie

Personally I really liked this movie. I think the story line was more straight forward than most of the other movies I have seen and it was possible to relate to the characters. |

Kalu Akanu: They know the Boers will not play with them. We as Africans think that we would be given respect, since we are their brothers and sisters, but that is not the way they think. They think we are taking their jobs and the reason why they are not progressing.
They should look to the Boer and English settlers who took their land. And also their leaders who sold them out after Apartheid ended. Exactly!! When they were going through Apartheid so many black countries rallied around to help them, now they are supposedly taking their jobs. Yet there are some towns that SAs can't even go into. Shame!!! |

Kalu Akanu: Now this police brutality! I hope these police are held accountable for this heinous act. I am starting to despise SA with all their xenophobic actions. Just look at how they treat people form Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Somalia. The average South African hates Nigerians, because they know we are not afraid of them and will fight them in their own land.
Do people remember when they had those xenophobic riots, in which they killed many Africans, the Nigerians who live in SA met them with AK-47s. The sad part is that these same people gladly brutalizing other black African immigrants cower at the sight of whites and Coloured. |

So the man died from suffocation plain and simple. I hope they don't try to cover it up. My main interest is whether they ended up finding any drugs or are the SA police still practicing their xenophobic activities under pretext. |

LO4yrs: @ This is a no joke, I don't even wish this on my worst enemy. Note that am not stalking him , bearly talk and can go years without seeing each other.
@Lord_Reed/Savanaha, The problem here is that its not adviceable to be having contacts with LO, I don't communicate that often with him. If I try to contact him too much, it won't be healthy to me and may look to him like I have further intention/interest in him, plus he is married, I respect that. Most Limerent people I know from the support group (ones that have good intentions) keep the no conact thing going. If you look at it, you already have this intense feeling you are dealing with and thinking of, why border to communicate , it will only give you false hope, But I do agree with you, most that do disclose are very cautious on how they do it, As for my hubby, am not comfortable telling him only because we've been married less than 10yrs, I don't want this to be something he holds on to when ever we have marriage issues, I want us to be able to resolve our marital issues for what they are , Would severing every single contact including Facebook help you? |
