CrimeRe: Robbery On 3rd-mainland Bridge This Monday Morning! by savanto: 11:25am On Mar 06, 2012

What if your car breaks down on the bridge at that un-godly hour? A man runs from a snake only to meet a lion in front of him! You can leave early and be robbed; just as you can leave office late and be robbed. The woman should have blasted in other tongues ( you should know what I mean if you are born-again and spirit filled) I only but wonder what the woman (victim in this context) done with the WORD OF GOD!!

Pray you don't find yourself in such situation.

I have been through it several times in recent past. To be precise "Charity Bus stop" along Oshodi- Apapa expressway. They are always there. Also in the past, i used to take night buses to the east to do my business. i do not want to recount my experiences on the highway because i don't want to bore you with details. Any robber that crosses my path fails. It is not by power, it's not by might, but by the spirit of God that these things come to be. It is just a pity that on the last day, God would look at some xtians with so much disappointment on his face and ask them what they have done with the WORD OF GOD in their mouth in time of calamity. I just happen to know who I am. The zeal of the lord has consumed me, not my fault. Christianity is not a religion. It is the God kind of life in man. I can know this much and yet be subjected to attacks of robbers. There is something inside of you, discover it and live a victorious life on earth.

My life is a testimony. I wish I could share it on this forum. Everything about my life is a testimony to the glory of God.

It is a nasty experience I must confess. I witnessed some on eko bridge and each time I remember, I get scared. The worst was the day the guy next to me was robbed on the bridge and since then, I wait until about 10 - 11pm before leaving the office so that the road can be free. The funny part is that sometimes around Apongbon, there are policemen there and yet these guys rob successfully.

CrimeRe: Frustrated Hiv Patient Bathes Counsellor With Acid by savanto: 12:31pm On Nov 01, 2011
IMO, the nurse must have said something out of turn to the HIV patient. You need to go to these hospitals to see how the treat the infected patients with scorn and much disdain. There is more to this story as it is one sided. I am not in support of the acid bath though but these nurses could be mean to patients. I have seen many of them abandoned to their fate in hospitals. May God Help us! I wish the nurse a speedy recovery all the same.
AutosRe: New Tires : Death Trap?. by savanto: 9:48pm On Oct 10, 2011
I have used GT Radial (Indonesia) in the past and it served me well. However, it may no longer be as it used to be those days. Two years ago, i decided to buy Infinity. I have used them (2) for two years now without any issue. I drive every day and I have traveled twice to Delta and they are still strong. I will recommend it to any one who hasn't much money for Goodyear, Michelin etc. If you must buy GT, please don't buy China made. Look out for Indonesia. Though sometimes you may not find it in the market because it is few importers that bring it in to the country. Importers like to import fake China tyres which is usually a quick sale. (our country men love cheap articles)

I have always said it that  "MUGU" will ever be present in Nigeria no matter the awareness! Just take a good look at yourselves who want to make cheap friends on NL. Just stupidly displaying your phone numbers to every dick and harry to see that you have GSM number. Who ever told you guys that the supposed lady is indeed a lady?
The fact that the poster claimed to be female does not make him or her a female. Let her post her pic and resident address at least to show seriousness. Be wise and stop displaying your phone numbers here. Even if you want to do so, you can do it with a genuine reason and not because you are sex starved for Pete's sake! undecided undecided undecided

The Boko Harams are killing fellow Boko Harams this time and not just BH vs Muslims. Shouldn't we rather have them secede and call them Muslimabad?
So we can now have New Nigeria and Muslimabad occupying the North. undecided undecided undecided
FamilyRe: For The Ladies: Moving Out Of Your Parent's House, Yay Or Nay? by savanto: 12:54pm On Sep 17, 2011
@Poster

IMO, you should wait till after your NYSC. There is no hurry in life. I know that at your age now, you are very eager to explore the world of independence but I must warn you that freedom itself has its own hazards. Your parents would never hear of it that you want to move out. They may not be willing to compromise except you take leave without their blessing. I will advise you to remain in your parents house and zip up.

You are not even working! It is very difficult for us working ones to meet up with our rents as and when due not to talk of the likes of you that are yet to join the labour force. If there's a BF out there promising you that he will rent you a flat, please be careful because you are going into slavery. He will always come around when he is not needed and by jove, most of them that will volunteer to rent you a house are the married men.You will know no rest if a man pays your rent. You can still bleep from home, don't you think so? Be wise! A word is enough for the wise. I wish you all the best! undecided undecided undecided

blame the FG for not proving free education to all!

Be informed that University education in Malaysia or any other Asian country is not free. The fact that Nigerian government did not make University education free is not the reason why our citizens do drug and  scam. It is just a reflection of a troubled society which we all have our share of the blame. I have never seen an University that offers free education, I could be wrong but I have never seen. Which org. will employ a graduate of a free university in Nigeria? Almost every Nigerian is corrupt and this could be seen in the way we manage our daily affairs in our various offices or wherever we make our daily bread. A trader cheats his customers buy trying to increase prices of goods in a desperate bid to see if his customer who is called the mugu will fall for the price. Why can't you just tell the customer that the price is N1000  instead of telling him that the goods worth N1000 is actually N10,000 and you expect him to start haggling from N5000 and you say it is business? In abroad it is not so.  You are a an employee and you will not attend to your clients until they brop "egunje" into your laps? You will not sign any document until you receive bribe? You are a nurse but talk badly to sick folks who happen to come to your hospital just because you are wearing a gown and a mickey mouse?

In a nutshell the system is corrupt, the governor is corrupt and so are the governed. Check your life and ask yourself-- I'm I a problem solver in my society or am I contributing to the problems all in an effort to tag it a failed state? The change we desire and need begins with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! undecided undecided undecided

TravelRe: Customs Checks At Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos by savanto: 9:50pm On Sep 05, 2011

@earthrealm
thank God, i hv purchased a small key chain spy cam. am gonna expose their sorry miserable asses!, they harassed me early this january, blatantly asking for money, in the glare of everybody, i really felt ashamed to be a nigerian, and they werent too polite too!!, very rough crude and coarse, GO HERE!!!, COME HERE, OYA MOVE!!!!, they all bellowed at returning passengers?

I learnt its a crime now to carry more than 3 laptops when returning from abroad, that they will confiscate 1 laptop if found!

Nice thoughts though, but let me ask you after the video coverage with your cam, where are you going to report it? Is it to the Controller-General of Customs or to the highly esteemed Nigeria Police force? It is not difficult taking pictures of these corrupt officials we know that very well, but the person you are reporting to actually got that far through corrupt practices. The whole system stinks like hell you know? The officers don't give a hoot who you report to.

Fellow Lagosians! A time cometh and now is, when vehicles with other number plates which are not registered in lagos will be banned from plying lagos roads bet me.

With the way things are going now, you will wake up one morning to discover that Fashola faithfuls are impounding vehicles with number plates of other states of the ferderation.

The government out to THINK and CONCENTRATE more on provision of jobs and social amenities to the citizens. There is so much hunger and starvation in the land.

Nuella,

Thank you for shedding more light on this issue of giving people keep writing about everyday on NL. I suppose they don't give and don't intend giving even when God chose to bless them beyond measures. The gospel is expensive. You need money to preach the gospel period.

FamilyRe: What Should I Do If My Wife Destroy My Property (tv) by savanto: 2:08pm On Jun 04, 2011
Different strokes for different folks. What works for Mr. A may be a dismal failure if applied to Mr. B's situation. I opine that you call your inlaws and sit your wifey down in their presence and tell them what a good wife they have given you. Thereafter, she must be made to replace whatever she has destroyed. This will checkmate her actions in the future in times of anger and fury. She could have shoot you if you are the type that keep firearms at home.

Nobody has any right to destroy any property because what you are insinuating by your action is that your property is different from my property? She does not see your property as hers. Please do not keep dangerous or poisionous substances carelessly arround the home!
