LordofNairaland:It's "Samankwe and the highway robbers". |
Patented:I used to think so before but no no. Though I find it awkward counting money in front of a computer but i know someone who had a bad experience with the ATM in Benin City. After the transaction, he counted the money right there and discovered he as short-payed by N5k. Guess what he did? Still standing in front of the machine, he raised his hands and said loudly "I received so and so amount instead of so and so amount from so and so branch ATM) He then left and reported to the bank the next day because it as already late. An argument ensued between him and the bank staff in charge of the ATM. It as his word against theirs, so he left that branch and went to their head office and reported the matter. The Head of Operations demanded for the footage and when it was played in his presence, they summoned the staff who was arguing with the young man and asked him if there as excess fund in that ATM a day before. He banker denied having excess cash with him. His branch manager was called to talk to him and he finally admitted to keeping the excess money at the end of the day. To cut the story short, the customer as refunded right there from the account of the banker. He was instructed to fill a withdrawal slip. So i think one can be short-payed by the ATM and get a refund if you have proof. |
Josphine4good:Please don't! It is a matter of choice. |
The accident was not actually caused by over-speeding but I admit that all vehicles involved in that accident over-sped 100km/h. The accident happened in my town and I just came into town an hour before it happened. The clothes of the victims were removed by the rescuers as they were in shreds already. Three vehicles where involved. The accident was actually caused by the driver of the Honda vehicle because he was chasing the Anglican clergy who was heading back to Asaba after officiating the burial service of songs at ibusa which I also attended. He preached about death and life after as it is usually done in service of songs. He spoke eloquently about the valley of the shadow of death. This was his last message on earth. He said 'some people pray for the death of their enemies. If your enemies all die, then who will be alive to celebrate your success? Let your enemies be alive to celebrate you. It is good for your enemies to be alive and see how God will set a table for you in their presence. When you find yourself in the valley of the shadow of death, God is there with you and no matter the situation, hold on to God'. After conducting the service of songs, he called out the family of the bereaved and prayed for them that God should comfort them. He entered his vehicle with his driver and headed to Asaba. While still on that street, his car brushed the side mirror of the honda sedan car and the clergy's driver did not stop to access the damage (he prolly didn't know about d accident) he zoomed off into the ibusa-Asaba express way while the honda car pursued closely trying to overtake the clergy. He finally did at Atakpo. A fully loaded Mitsubushi bus was also descending the hill from Asaba on full speed. The time was about 7:30 - 8:00 PM and visibility was poor cos it was already dark. They collided. The honda guy was saved by the airbag. When he saw his handiwork, he ran into d nearby bush. He is at large now. But he's a popular miscreant anyway. The bodies were left that way for almost 24 hours at the general hospital so that friends and relatives could identify them. I didn't go because I can't stand such gory sight. Majority of the passengers were ibusa-bound passengers, so many families lost one person or the other and people wailed at every corner of the town. May God grant them eternal rest in his bosom. |

OXYGEN01:If you are a Ghanian and feel offended by my assertion of Ghana, i apologize. It was not intentional. I once read a seemingly true life story by a nairalander last year "There and back on time" and i remembered somewhere in his story that he narrated his first visit to Ghana and a lady he had just met on the beach and was wooing asked him to carry her handbag and follow her. It was a culture-shock to me. A few months later, a friend of mine visited me here in naija from Ghana (a Nigerian based in Ghana) When he was recounting the vast distinction between Ghana and Nigeria culture, i was bewildered to say the least. I would love to visit Ghana someday and learn how they live. I think it is very interesting to learn about other people's culture and tradition. Have a lovely weekend. |
O0XYGEN:But you haven't told us anything here. You seem to be a Ghanian. Please let us know if that is the norm in your country. no hard feelings. I think it's kinda romantic. Don't you think so charlie? Enlighten us abegi |
They could be Ghanians and not Nigerians. At least nothing indicates that from the picture. I think it is a tradition in Ghana for men to carry their wife's/gf handbags. if the man isn't complaining, then why should I? |
Please how much does a replacement cost? Is it possible to get it in Lagos State. Also, how long will the process take. Thanks |
The harvest is past: and the summer is ended, yet we are not saved! The more things CHANGE, the more they are THE SAME. |
Where did the letter of authority come from? |
daretodiffer:Unfortunately, I have no time to join issues with spinsters who are inexperienced in life. Life is a school my dear and judging from your posts so far, you may just be in your course '101' in this school of life. It's my bet that you are not even engaged yet by any serious dude and you are far below 40 years of age. When you get to that age, if nairaland still exists and you still find me on this moniker 'savanto' PM me and we shall talk like 'real' adults then. But for now, your mummy calleth thee in the kitchen! |
daretodiffer:Why wouldn't you like her? Like attracts likes. May God deliver bachelors from the ever-ravaging spirit of 'alabosa' Many times, when I'm in the midst of my siblings ( brothers), I find myself shaking my head unconsciously when I remember that girls of nowadays are so loose. I would be like- how can I explain to these brothers that dating is quite a different thing from marriage? How can I explain to them that most married women/men at one time in their lives must cheat on their partners and Vice versa? (This is very difficult to accept but it's true) I feel for the OP but won't advocate divorce at this stage but a separation is long over-due. Frankness may be a virtue, but it is not a virtue that brings its own reward! |
kennydee05:If that is the case, d mall would be the last place to buy an item which u intend to resell because the prices are often on the high side. The money is gone and there's no need crying over spilt milk. |
Teempakguy:Hmmn! Are u a Lobsang Rampa fan? U made sense though. Just kidding. |
This is just one of the reasons the Igbos can never be president because they always break their ranks. You can't change them. it's just how they have been configured to reason and act. Very soon, BIM will give birth to "The Reformed BIM" but same ideology. |
@ OP, You don't have to worry yourself to death because of your mum's inordinate love affair. Are you working? If yes, then you can afford to buy yourself some fun once in a while by bringing lovepeddlers to your house. Let them spend the weekend if possible, cook and wash for you at agreed fee. Let them know that your mum is just your aunty living with you. Don't be surprised to notice that those men that come to shag your mum would want to taste your babes too. That would drive your mama crazy and her 16MB brain will reset to default. She will invite you for a heart to hear discussion. There are certain things you just can't do in the presence of your kids even if they seem to be the right thing to do. |
How many nigerian men want to marry a woman who earns higher than them?So what happens if you later lose that job and the reverse becomes the case? Time and chance happens to them all! |
goldengift025:Waiting to be helped? Who have you helped? Always living your lives in such a way that you must depend on people. Please go and discover yourself and be the HELP that people around you need. |
@OP, Please help me out here. I have never heard of a community in Delta called Okuzu. I only know about one Awkuzu and that is in Anambra State. 'Lucky Anene from Okuzu in Delta State.' |
Calapar:You mean cohabiting with your GF? It's wrong to do so. Go and pay her bride price before she starts cooking noodles( that's what they usually prepare for bachelors) for you. She's not even supposed to pass the night in your house, talk less of cooking your meals. You have started on a wrong footing bro and a million things may definitely go wrong in such an inordinate relationship. After your wedding and she is pressing phone, then come back here. Thank me later! |

southniyikaye:A one way journey by train costs N230.00 in the economy class. It is not about the money but the truth is that they derive a whole lot of fun by hanging precariously on a moving train. Up there, they meet old friends and sometimes make new ones as foolish as it seems. They smoke weed together and drink Alomo. When they are in high spirit, someone among them raises a song and the rest will join in the chorus. Many are knocked down by pedestrian bridges and flyovers as the train passes under them. A few years ago, one was arrested on top of the train by the Police at Oshodi during a raid, he was searched and a ticket was found on him. Upon interrogation, he admitted that he boarded with his girlfriend as they bought two tickets. The lady thought her BF boarded with her, but the boy climbed to the rooftop. He had a ticket! He was whisked away by the Police and his girl was astonished. The bottom line is that some people will never learn. They are not teachable. The more people died by falling off a moving train, the more new ignorant folks join them. I don't feel sorry for them. They had never for once wished to 'rest in peace. |
Alishachris:Sir, can you clearly define these boundaries? Also, do not forget to tell us the man's offence for taking photographs. I wish to know because a group of Policemen seized my phone when they discovered that I was in a bus taking a video coverage of one of them bullying a conductor for not agreeing to part with N100. A week ago. It took the intervention of other passengers for him to give me back my phone but not after deleting the video. Tell me..why Nigerians are afraid of the camera? The guilty are always afraid! |
