Nigerians woke up on Friday fortnight ago to brace with the unusual situation of the proposed arraignment of the nation’s number one judicial officer, the Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Walter Onnoghen. The travails of the erudite jurist allegedly have it that he failed to comply fully with the asset declaration mandate on public officers as expected from the code of conduct bureau. Sources are of the view that the accusation against the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) is political considering the timing of the arraignment barely four weeks to the start of general elections across the nation. However, findings have also shown that it has correlation with the lingering Guber case in Kebbi state and the sudden need by the federal government to oust the CJN. Based on the current travails of the CJN, the composition of the appeal panel was done without the full knowledge of the nation’s number one judicial officer. It is alleged that the kebbi state government in collaboration with the Attorney General of the Federation Abubarka Malami SAN, are gunning for the CJN due to his hard posture on upholding the tenets of the law and ensuring the independence of Judiciary. The panel has Hon. Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed as Chairman, a close friend of the first defendant in the case who is also the Governor of the state, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Bagudu. The friendship between the duo dates back several years. Recently, on December 28th, 2018 when Samaila I.T Muhammad, the son of Hon Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed got married at Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna, Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu was at the event from start to finish, and was a prominent figure at the wedding reception held at the Hon. Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed residence in Kaduna. The panel also has Hon. Justice Amina Adamu Augie, an indigene of Kebbi State, whose first daughter, Aisha Adamu Augie-Kuta is presently working with the first defendant, Kebbi State Governor as his Senior Special Assistant on New Media. It has been gathered that the plaintiff has made a formal complaint to the Chief Justice of Nigeria and having known his strict disposition on judicial issues, sources said that this was not going down well with the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubarka Malami SAN, whom is alleged not favorably disposed to the CJN taking charge of the Kebbi Guber tussle, and hence the need to put the CJN on trial, which will eventually pave way for a favorable environment for the panel to deliver her judgment. As its now the battle ground is charged between Onnoghen and Kebbi mafia whic is described to include the AGF, the Gov Kebbi State, Chairman Code of Conduct and the prosecutor of the CJN at the CCT who are all said to be indigenes of Kebbi State bent on removing the CJN in order to ensure that Bagudu is not removed as the Governor by the Supreme Court as all efforts to settle the case out of court through monetary inducement to the appellants have been rebuffed. The Gov who influenced the selection of the Supreme Court panelists have as of Sunday in kebbi been celebrating victory song that he has scaled through the Supreme Court even before the hearing of the appeal. The intrigues in the guber case have seen several influential persons from Kebbi state in the executive and judicial arm of government taking sides with the Kebbi State Governor. The later, having served in the top echelon in the judiciary as a former chief registrar of Supreme Court and a current serving judge of Federal High court, Abuja. Sources said that the former apex court registrar is also from Kebbi state has been serving as a link person in the “deal”. The leadership of kebbi state judiciary through an appointment of a substantive Chief Judge has been in limbo for a while because the Governor has interest in appointing his crony over and above the current acting CJ who by seniority is supposed to be the substantive as recommended by NJC. The governor Bagudu is therefore drawn on a long battle of wits with the CJN and the NJC supported by his APC and the Attorney General of the Federation who is also from Kebbi. Meanwhile, sources closed to the inner caucus in Governor’s camp said that there was a wild jubilation last weekend when the list of the appeal panel came out. According to the source, the believe that the “deal has been done” It would be recalled that the plaintiff in the matter Mr. Anthony Itanyi is claiming that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) committed perjury by lying under oath in the form he submitted to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prior to 2015 governorship election in Kebbi State. He is urging the Supreme Court to invalidate the election that brought Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to power and confirm Major General Bello Sarki Yaki (Rtd), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the election as the winner and subsequently order INEC to issue him certificate of return. When the case initially started, Governor Bagudu filed preliminary objection challenging the jurisdiction of Federal High Court to entertain the matter. The matter was appealed to Supreme Court, the apex court later ruled that not only that the Federal High Court has jurisdiction to hear the case but also ordered for an accelerated hearing on the matter. Consequently, the appeal of the substantive matter has reached the Supreme Court again after both the trial court and the Appeal court ruled in favour of the first defendant. https://i2.wp.com/topnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Justice-CJN-Onnoghen-2-topnaija.ng_.jpg?resize=768%2C432&ssl=1 By GIMBA Umar source: https://topnaija.ng/kebbi-guber-case-one-of-the-many-problems-of-onnoghen/ |
Olassab:Unfortunately your request was foundation and German Floor.... And that I have done.... (see below) Except where stated, I've used standard parameters for my calculations. Foundation (Materials) 9 inches Block - 510 pcs Cement (concrete and block setting) - 31 bags Granite - 30 tonnes (enough for German Floor) Sharp sand - 3 tippers (enough for German Floor) Workmanship for above. Digging of foundation - 35k max Bricklayers fees - 55k - 60k Setting out - 20k (materials and labour) Filling of foundation - to be estimated on site. German Floor (thickness used is 100mm or 4 inches) Materials Needed Cement - 35 bags 1by12 somi wood - 12 pcs or buy 6 and slice into 2 each 2by4 - minimal for bracing 3 inches nail - 1k worth Binding wire - 2k worth Workmanship for above. Bricklayer - 40k Carpenter - 5k Filling of foundation - negotiate on site or 2.5k per tipper Find the cost of the materials in your area and add up for project cost. Thanks for contacting me.... (file closed) Goodluck... |
Olassab:OK..... pls remind me during the week - I'll do it Monday or Tuesday.. Goodluck...... |
Olassab:Morning.. I'm presently looking at your design and working around it. You can comfortably have a 3 bedroom in that space, with a bigger kitchen and dining also..... The 3rd room would share toilet with visitors.. However, would you be willing to pay a little for the drafting and time to achieve that? I understand you've spent (perhaps a lot to get this design) but 1 extra room would solve a lot of problems in the future. Whatever you decide.... I'll give you FOR FREE a breakdown of Materials needed for FOUNDATION and GERMAN FLOOR only..... Plus advice on cost of workmanship...... Goodluck. Regards....... |
Olassab:Lagos and Abeokuta depending on days |
Olassab:Do a sketch of the land and show anything on it eg building, grave etc and send to my mail (in my signature) - I'll send u my WhatsApp nos |
We Never Walk Alone. #LFC #YNWA ⚽ |
Olassab:what do you mean by CONCRETING ? I'll work on your estimate over the weekend...... so help me God |
Olassab:is there any reason why its a 2 bedroom and NOT 3 ALSO, is the site inclined (not rectangular) why I'm asking - I also advice clients to build a minimum 3 bedroom flat EXCEPT there are other factors that wont allow.. Fund is NOT one of such factors.... |
Olassab:here is free consultancy email is paid consultancy i'm OK with any. lol.... |
Olassab:Evening.... Thanks for the comment. You would have to share the plan... That also is important. Regards |
Zzyy:The real FTC dedicated to all my followers on the properties thread... One of you should just send me this INFINIX - ![]() |
buddie:All things are normal.... 12mm rod is OK... |
na wa ooohh - like joke, like joke this is becoming a national embarrassment |

claps..... BUT I wld need a lot of google(ing) to understand the last paragraph - lol - that level pass me... ![]() |
buddie:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OK I LOSE THANKS SIR,, ![]() So I can apply this style across the entire openings in the building? DOORS AND WINDOWS ONLY - USE NORMAL CASTING FOR ENTRANCE TERRACE. I've replied your mail... |
buddie:I. Presume you've NOT seen my post on saving money on lintel? Your workmen won't like it but it wld save you 200k... Search for it here on NL ..... I'm not sharing the link lol Using same method on this project (pics attached) Standard height for lintels is 2.1m equivalent of 9 blocks high. Good luck
|
buddie:Evening... If you slice the wood, you can only use for lintels of areas with 6 inches block.. So don't slice since you're using 9 inches. On German Floor - you can proceed with your plan... I understand the huge cost associated with German Floor.... Good luck |
check my signature meanwhile. Happy Birthday Lagbaja |
buddie:THE QUOTE ABOVE IS NOT EXCESSIVE IF THE PERSON WAS BUDGETING FOR A 150mm SLAB - WHICH IS STANDARD; If you look at my estimate, I left the clause that I used 100mm (4inches) - if I used 150mm (6inches) it would run into something close to what you were given. BUT if you adopt 4inches (which is OK) - see my advise below. 35 loads of filling sand. ---- ONLY SM1 ON SITE CAN VERIFY, YOU CAN BUY IN BITS eg 1st buy 5, then 5, then 5 etc 30 tonnes of granite. ---- YES, 4 loads of sharp sand. ---- I'LL ADVICE YOU BUY 3, WHATEVER IS LEFT WLD BE USED ELSEWHERE 120 bags of cement. ---- THATS MORE THAN YOU WLD USE IF ITS 100mm THICK SLAB BUT IF ITS 150mm THICK SLAB, THEN YOU NEED BETWEEN 115 - 140 (experience - calculation) 25 planks of 1*12*12. - YES, HE'S CORRECT - I ONLY GAVE YOU A MONEY SAVING HINT BY DIVIDING INTO 2 (this can only be done if thickness is 100mm [4inches], if ts 150mm [6inches] then you have to buy 24 planks....) 5 pounds of 3 inches nail. - thats about N250 * 5 = N1,250 so its OK. What is the cost range for concrete mixer rental and transport in this our area? - 20K OR 25K (includes operator's fee) Is it not economical to deploy plenty cheaper manpower instead of renting mixer? - MORE EXPENSIVE, AND MIGHT RUN INTO DAY 2. |
buddie:Estimated Materials: Granite = 30 tonnes Sharp Sand = '2 double tippers' Floor Thickness Used = 100mm (4 inches) Approx Cement = 75 - 90 bags (75 from experience, while 90 from calculations) Labour = 65k - 70k (depending on the cost of renting concrete mixer) - I'll advice you use a concrete mixer cos its a BIG floor you doing 1 by 12 wood = 11 pcs BUT sliced into 2 to give 22 pcs (i.e buy 11 pcs of 300 by 3600 {1by12} Somi, slice it into 150 by 3600 {0.5by12} each) you would need about 3 pcs of 2by4 for the bracing and 3 inches nail of about 1k worth, plus binding wire of about 2k worth. Carpenter Workmanship = Daily pay (about 3.5k - 5k) Budget some cash for the people who would do the 'RAMMER', i.e wetting and compacting of the filling. Water = ![]() I don try.... Goodluck |
buddie:1. The easiest question to answer is on the design - I must say the Architect did justice to it; maybe the only person who wld have done better is myself ... lol (Just joking) - The design is kk. Dont you want that in AutoCad? It helps to have a soft copy for future references. 2. Filling Sand is 18500 - 19000 in Ikorodu right now - on supplier, I live in Ikorodu so I def shd have someone. 3. If Arab contractors sell fillings legitimately, i'm not aware of and I have no contact there 4. I'll send the projected material for german floor in the next post - I did a lot of free consultation for NL people last year - and still doing it this year, I believe in the end, God pays us all.... but I also do designs (make nna dey give me work ooh)Which part of Ikorodu is your project? GoodLuck |
great news.. bookmarked |
predatorX:I can't agree less... I started in the building industry way back 2006, employed by a QS.... and that's where I learnt my estimation skills from. |
Rigel95:For the purpose of learning... CAN YOU PLEASE SHARE ONE OF SUCH ROOFING SHEETS, TECHNICAL FACTORS AND METHOD OF ESTIMATING. Thanks in advance....... The QS didn't wake up to his knowledge, he started by learning the basic principles which is what I've shared in my post. Thanks sir... |
SHORT AND TO THE POINT |
check my Signature..... goodluck |
Omopasito:sorry i've been away to the moon and back CADSOLUTIONS2009@GMAIL.COM Thanks |
