yes those daarsat decoders that show daar when booting are already locked for daarsat. though you can find a way around it.

When you get a satelite signal locked into it,it will disappear,just installed for a friend that has daarsat locked when booted but now he is using it for astra and pass7/10 and w3a and can also set out all the channels into one output.

Yes daarsat is useful for fta , but note it would not open nagravision encrypted channels that requires the 6969 combination, also ensure that the reciever has not been upgraded via the OTA upgrade else u will be having a a network locked reciever. Good day
