Politics › Re: I Will Support Biafra If Any Ipob Can Point An Ibo Speaking Community In Bayelsa by ScamHunter: 2:30am On Jun 14, 2021
gidgiddy:
Those questions are what a referendum is supposed to answer

As for the OP, although Im not from Bayelsa, I heard that Igbos are indigenous to Osekwenike, Abuetor and Eke Okpokri villages, all in Sagbama area of Bayelsa state
those are clearly Igbo names. I even have inkling of their meanings. Osie kwanu ike (central Igbo), Abuo na ato, Eke Okpokri. When things are tough, two and three and Okpokri market. You can't beat Igbo. Our culture is always with us. This is why it's so annoying seeing parents not teach their children the Igbo language. Without our culture, the Fulani would have found it easy to devour us. Without our strong spirit and fighting spirit.

These Afonjas do have nightmare over Igbo and Biafra. I do not know between them and Fulani who are more terrified of Igbo exit? It's understandable sha:

Too lazy to make meaningful life out of them selves without the free crude oil they've lived on for decades.
Too pusillanimous to confront the Janjawed waiting in their forest and scared that when Igbo finally exits, that they'll be devoured by the monster they groomed.

There are no Igbos in the Niger Delta.
Igbos should keep their entire focus on 5 states solution and make it great to the envy of all.
Global developers, it's time to develop Igbo nation.
I see, Ifeanyi Okowa is Yoruba, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is Ijebu while Tony Elumelu is Awori.

The Igbos you see in ijawland are married women. Don't mistook that by saying or summarising that Ijaws are Igbos we are not.
I am not Ikwerre or any other part and I can't speak for them, but when you say there is an Ibo ancestry in Ijaw land you are trying to hide the truth.

Good luck to Biafra.
Peace
You're right. The right word that I should have used is maternal affinity and not ancestry. In fact, it's nearly impossible to see a prominent Ijaw family that doesn't have an Igbo wife, mother or grand-mother. Ijaw men, especially the well-to-do ones have been marrying Igbo women for ages.
Politics › The Question Of Biafra's Composition by ScamHunter(op):
I served in Ijawland. You can hardly see an Ijaw family without Igbo ancestry. This is why it is astounding how hard they're working to divide the East. Personally, I often get angry hearing Kanu wanting to include other tribes in Igbo exit, but with the benefit of hindsight, you cannot but see reasons with him.

Ibibio, Annang and Efik all migrated from Arochukwu. Traditionally and ancestrally, Igbo has strong bonds with most of these people. It is that bond that the FG and Yoruba people are working very hard to destroy of at least sever.

You can hear a man like Wike saying that Ikwerre are from Benin. Not just him, but many Igbo sub-groups. What they failed to understand is that your culture is your identity. Maybe they are aware, but want to conform to the Igbo hating Nigeria.

The claims of Benin origin stems from ancient Igbo clans that border the Benin empire migrating a way from the expanding Benin kingdom at its peak. Some of the peripheral Igbo communities moved away from the rampaging Benin army as the kingdom expanded and crossed the Niger. These movements formed the folklore that some of their uninformed descendants hang on to claim Benin. You're from Benin but your physical features and culture is Igbo?

I'm happy that the Benin kingdom has put them in their place by telling the Ikwerre that there is no evidence that they're Bini. So if Ikwerre is not Igbo and not Bini, did they fall from the sky too?

Anyway, my stance on Biafra is still that it should be only Igbo, but with a sense of history, I believe that some southernmost tribes deserve the same destiny with Igbo, especially those that share similar history and ancestry. Anikko Briggs recently stated that Ijaw and Igbo share blood ties, but even the Ijaw must prove that charting a similar course with Igbo is their sincer desire. Otherwise, an Only Igbo nation should be our focus.

This means that Ghana has more intelligent tribes than Nigeria. Let's say with the exception of the former Eastern Region led by Igbo. Who remembers how some fools were warned in 2015 but their response was "He cannot do it". Today, they have been surrounded from their forests and still have no response to the calamity that is about befalling them.

As I woke up this morning, I thought, this is Nigeria. How many are going to die today? This country is not different from Yemen or Syria or Afghanistan. As per Igbo, we all know that if Igbo says no to anything, even though Nigerians out of spite would go for that thing. Finally, they all would still lose.

Respect to Igbo. Always seeing ahead. No wonder we want out to show the world the stuff we are made of.

Really? Classical sucker punch to our Yellowbar friends that we warned in 2015. You think the janjas would work so hard in taking over the country and just hand presidency over to you? How foolish. Fulani all over Africa had dreamed of this masterstroke and thanks to our sophisticated morons, they have it in Nigeria. Even the CAR had more balls than Nigerian tribes with appeal to the Igbo, Jukun, Kanuri, Langtang and the Eggon, the few warrior tribes in Nigeria.

Politics › Re: Why Are IPOB Threads So Popular? by ScamHunter: 12:03am On Jun 11, 2021
Beancounter93:
The movement is popular for the same reason most Northerners hated GEJ

In Nigeria, when your side loses, you go into opposition. Not constructive opposition, but virulent, bitter, tribalistic opposition. (Which is why some of us who think all Nigerian governments past and present are bunk tend to stay on the fence.)

IPOB is popular not because of secession...but because many Southerners feel left out of the sharing of the goodies that happens when a party wins. When PDP was in the ascendancy, the goodies sharing slightrly benefited the South...when APC won, and recall that APC is percieved as a Northern party, all the goodies went to the North. Southerners were left with nothing...unless you were one of the few that joined APC on time....

Also, around the time APC came into office, the oil prices crashed. A lot of Ibos are into business...and many of them rely on forex to import the stuff they sell. And as a result of forex shortfalls due to oil prices falling...and they are still too low...government brought in forex cuts and restrictions that affected these businessmen badly.

In times like these, secession becomes a useful tool to extract benefits from the center. Just as Northerners use the threat of 'sharia' to extract concessions from southern-led governments.

Ultimately, the problem is Nigeria runs a share the national cake economy. And everyone is fightring for his or her share. And tribe and religion get mixed in.

Then there is the overarching myth of the NORTH , so powerful to enslave the South, yet so powerless to be outwited by the South.

And you know what makes me laugh. In 2011, when GEJ was in power, many Northerners did not believe in the system either...till Buhari tok over, and all of a sudden, it became cool to be a Nigerian up North.

Politics › Re: Why Are IPOB Threads So Popular? by ScamHunter:
Fear, hatred, greed and jealousy are the emotions at play with regard to Igbo in Nigeria.
Among many ethnic groups such as the Yoruba, the fear of what Igbo would become if left to build their own country is a factor. Also, among the Yoruba who are the most vocal opposition to the Igbo self-determination quest, there is also the fear that their goose laying golden egg would be gone in terms of free proceeds from crude oil they have enjoyed for half a century without contributing anything. This is why you see them and the Northerners working overtime to create a wedge between Igbo and Southern minorities who are both the oil bearing locations in the country.
Fear is also the reason some Southern minorities are against the Igbo. Fear that if Biafra secedes, that they would be dominated by the Igbo. Fear among these minorities also stems from being dominated by the Igbo drive which pales their efforts to insignificance since they mainly are dependent on the handouts from oil allocation. Also bear in mind that the minorities fear is possibly incentivized through a central campaign by the government to discourage them from joining Igbo in another country.

Fear is also the reason many non-Fulani Northerners do not want Igbo to go. They do not want to be left alone with Fulani to be decimated. They all know that the ONLY ethnic group that has what it takes to resist the genocides of the Fulani who has cut wide swats in tears and blood are the Igbo. If Igbo goes, they're hopeless, even though they would not acknowledge this, all Nigerian tribes know they have not what it takes to stop the Janjaweeed.

Greed can also describe the Yoruba and Fulani factor which is their interest in crude oil that would likely go with Igbo, especially a Biafra with minorities. Then in summary of the hatred and jealousy is that Igbo is the only tribe that unites Nigerian tribes due to these factors. They hate and are jealous of the Igbo spirit which they classify as domination. It's just like what happened to the Jews of Europe. Hate them because you cannot be like them. These are the reasons every dolt has an opinion about Igbo. They are a people you cannot but help having an opinion about.

Even the whiteman doesn't want an Igbo country because they do not want to a black race mount real challenge to the assertion that blacks are an inferior race. That, is what an Igbo country would disprove.
