2016 was 6 years ago. If she is still coaching a the same level she was in 2016, without any upward mobility, then something is definitely wrong with her being the best choice for Nigeria. Pep Guardiola was an integral part of the Barca set up for many years, so there was no loss in step when he took the reigns.

Look, football has significantly evolved since 2016. Its become more competitive and more scientific. I was struck by the rampant use of technology at the recent U20 WWC, where laptops were being used on the bench of teams. Contrasting that with hearing Danjuma yell and scream instructions at his players during the course of the games, while his counterparts were more focused on the use of their laptops for deeper analysis and strategic planning during the games.

This is not personal, you can clamor all you want for whoever you want - you are well within your rights to do so. I am more focused on reality of the lack of personal growth and upward mobility. The sad truth is Omagbemi or Akide are probably more ill-equipped for the job now, as opposed to 2016. This fact should not be discountenanced or lost on us - there is hardly any Nigerian coach out there equipped for this job, considering the very limited capacity building growth they have undergone on the international stage and how far they have been left behind.

Little wonder why the Nigerian options out there have made little progress since 2016..

I don't think this is right to say Considering their Capabilities as Coaches abroad.. If they're not good enough they won't even be given the opportunity to work... If the offer doesn't come they will tend to keep the job they have doing.
Mercy didn't just became the head Coach of Regent University, Virginia. She worked her way there from the age grade level..

But one thing we all should also know is that almost all the Superfalcons players the ones of interacted with if not all likes Omagbemi and want her back.. If you're good, you're good. By the way there's no way all of them will be speaking good of her if she's not good enough...!

You missed my fore-leading point that the Federation is dirt broke.
Be it whatever currency, the coffers are completely dry.
So, its going to be dejavu with Omagbemi, regarding the reason she was initially let go - inability of the federation to pay remunerations, which led to the protest which she allegedly 'supported'.

And besides, going through what she went before, it would be odd to expect that she wouldn't want to have a contract signed in terms of lenght and remunerations, this time around. Something the federation will likely struggle to agree with.

Omagbemi was asked to work under Randy Waldrum as his Assistant but she refused, citing that she's better than been an Assistant to Randy and also didn't agree to leave her Coaching Job abroad..

At this juncture, and based on her performance at the U20 and her cameos against the World Champions US, I would place Imuran ahead of her.

Won't buy into this idea for now until Patricia George proves herself on the pitch first..

Anyway Mr Sam spoke highly of Imuran prior to the U20 World Cup and I'm beginning to see it.

i forget to inform you guys that Mercy Akide Udoh was about to be named Superfalcons Coach back in 2017 until Randy Waldrum surface from nowhere... This was something we were all aware of..

Did any of you notice how the Commentators keep mentioning Asisat Oshoala name and her absence, injury and all that... They also talked about our Midfield especially the number of Players missing... At least they're aware that out Squad wasn't complete..

'Big players', as in Okobi, Oparanozie and perhaps Chikwelu and Onome?
Well, good riddance, as they have overstayed their welcome.
They should please not let the door hit them on their way out.

Your assumption though, the players you mentioned are still big part of the team whether playing or not... By the way until any of them retires from the team, they're still a member of the Superfalcon team

Talking about bringing in the Foreign Born Players to play for the Superfalcons many of you will think Randy is the one convincing them whereas he isn't..

I personally did help with bringing in 4 of them, Discuss with them for long on how they can come in, even on how they were able to get their Nigerian Passports...

Randy Waldrum hands in all this is just 5 percent which is giving them the Call up....

We had a Life session with Colin's Udoh on Twitter yesterday Night for over 3 hours, No body wants Randy again but the Animal who employed him wouldn't do anything...

Many of us have withdrawn from Randy since the WAFCON failure. He had enough time to get a strong Squad for over a year and half, Quality friendlies, Players and all that he still couldn't deliver. He's not the Man for the Job.

God knows i was fighting for the right thing, I had to cut my ties with Randy immediately after the WAFCON set back.. I spoke up they tagged me the bad one.. Some where even writing me privately to not talk again.

Because of this Superfalcons team, I had a serious quarrel with Falcons Media Officer, She Blocked me on WhatsApp, removed me from our General WhatsApp group because I was the only one to stand my ground that Randy isn't good enough for the girls...

I will hardly contribute here again until they do the needful..

Camp updates as Waldrum drafts in five U20 players to Nigeria squad for United States doubleheader test

Nigeria senior women’s coach Randy Waldrum has invited five members of the Costa Rica 2022 U20 Women’s World Cup team for next month’s two-legged international friendly against United States.

Waldrum has included the Falconets’ stars on his no fewer than 26-woman roster set to seek an upset against the reigning world champions for the first time since last meeting at the Summer Series last June.

The five players include centre back and captain Blessing Oluwatosin Demehin, right back Jumoke Alani, left back Rofiat Imuran, and midfielder Deborah Abiodun and forward Esther Onyenezide.

All invited Falconets’ ladies will be dreaming of an impactful debut at the senior level except for Demehin, who made her debut in the 1-0 defeat to Jamaica at the Summer Series last year on June 10.

The inclusion of the Falconets’ quartet is coming on the heels of the unavailability of some key players due to varying reasons, ranging from visa hitches and club switch.

SavidNews understand that visa hitches had seen Sweden based duo of Halimatu Ayinde and Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene as well Russia based duo of Francisca Ordega and Macleans Chinonyerem ruled out.

As expected, star striker Asisat Oshoala, who won a record fifth African Women’s Footballer of the Year in July, will also not make the trip as she continues to recover from the injury picked during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

In a related development, the Super Falcons camp has since opened in Abuja with Nigeria based players, including those from the U20 side at Serob Hotel on Monday.

Besides the five U20 stars, goalkeeper Christy Ohiaeriaku from Edo Queens, Robo Queens forward Monday Gift and Esther Ogbonna Akudo from Rivers Angels complete the list of eight local players.

With visas secured, the eight home based players and officials are scheduled to depart Nigeria for the United States on Tuesday night to unite with foreign professionals ahead of Saturday’s first match in Kansas City.

The nine-time African champions will battle the reigning World champions in their preparation for the 2023 FIFA World Cup, with first clash at the Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas on 3rd September and then have a go at each other’s jugular once more at the Audi Field in Washington, D. C. on 6th September.
