I thought Vivian, in her cameo appearances, played well. I particularly liked her being emboldened approach. No doubt, she has room for improvement and I will like to see her in Randy's setup going forward.
I was also particularly impressed with Demehin, the CB against Jamaica. She displayed a calmness in the back beyond her years (19) and I feel she is definitely one for the future. I hope she remains in Randy's setup going forward.
I don't have to re-litigate my disappointment in Ogbonna. Okeke is with CFF Madrid and doesn't play in the local league.
I wouldn't Complain much about Okeke performance being that she just recovered from an Injury that took her out for Long.. let's hope she gets back to her usual form..

But as for Ogbonna, she isn't there yet, She would impress you against team like Togo, Uzbekistan, Mali and disappoint you against the real Teams... after so many chances given to her.. Let's hope we find a better Left Back.. Hoping on Patricia George but she's out injured...

This lady is a football nomad - she has been all over the place.
Anyhow, congrats to her, even though her playing time might be limited to bit part roles.
She is definitely behind Ludmila (BRA), Deyna Castellanos (VEN) and Tatiana Bonetti (ITA). She will also have to contend with Ajara Nchout of CMR and maybe Rasheedat Ajibade.
I see her as a bench player, unless she makes a big impression on the coach.
Rasheedat Ajibade has improved a lot, her performance at the Summer Series was commendable, the Competitions at the Atletico de Madrid Femenino attack position is really good for her game, now that Thembi has gone there, the Competition for shirt will even be more tougher...

She played several positions (Central Midfield, Behind the forwards and from the Right Wing forward) at the Summer Series..

How would you rate her performance??

Deyna Castellanos (VEN) will definitely play from the Midfield...

No she wouldn't have!
Why is your argument centered around club accomplishments and the European football scene only?
Do you even know anything about the American NWSL? Do you have any idea how strong it is?
It is not by happenstance that the US has consistently had the best team in the world for over 2 decades now. Do you know how many of the worlds best players are in the NWSL?

Also, Oshoala does NOT have more records than Rapinoe, if you look at the records that anyone really cares about. If and when Oshoala starts to be considered as the Women's Balon d'oro and the FIFPro World X1 team, THEN you can draw up comparisons to Rapinoe.
Up until then, you really do not have an argument!
I wish they knew how Strong and Competitive the NWSL is....

I have been in contact with her Father and Coach Randy before she even made it public that she wants to play for Nigeria, everything concerning her switch is going well...

You're Wrong......

For your information the England Senior Women National Team has been in Contact with ASHLEIGH but it's her and her Family decision that's why she wants to play for Nigeria.. She had over 35Caps for England from the U15 to U23level...

She's Leicester City best Defender just 23years
By the time you watch her play in the WSL you will know how good she is..

Thembi Kgatlana, reinforcement for the rojiblanco attack

July 6, 2021 - 11:46

The 25-year-old player and senior international for South Africa signs with our club until 2023.

Thembi Kgatlana (May 2, 1995, South Africa) is a new Atlético de Madrid Femenino player until 2023. The South African player, international for her country, arrives to reinforce the rojiblanco attack.

The 25-year-old South African international is one of the main promises of South African football, being named the best African player in 2018. She trained at the University of the Western Cape, in 2018 she traveled to the United States to enter the ranks of the Houston Dash, a team in which she remained for a season until signing for Beijing BG Phoenix and later for Benfica. In 2020 she made the leap to the Spanish league by joining the SD Eibar squad, the team from which she comes.

We spoke to the South African international upon her arrival in Madrid: “I am very happy to arrive at Atlético de Madrid. As a footballer you always dream of playing for the best clubs ”.

Furthermore, Kgatlana said: “My first goal is to be a team player and to work hard for the team. I am very happy to be able to join you soon, I can't wait to meet you all. "

Welcome, Kgatlana!

Please, just don't do this... Comparing Oshoala to Rapinoe is an insult, I mean it, bro. Rapinoe has continued to shine from when she came into limelight up until now, at 36; She's achieved a lot that Oshoala should be aspiring for... Or you think that making the American team na beans?... And then she continues to be the best at what she does.

So you know, Oshoala cannot even make that American team ; a lot of players there are clearly better than her. Even forwards at Barca, such as Hermosa, Martens, Hansen are clearly above her- their overall play trumps hers. The reason Oshoala shines in Africa is that the standard is low on the continent.

Being fast and strong is useless if a forward is wasteful, largely unpolished ; highly tactical and technical teams would easily clip such forwards, rendering them ineffective... Or, haven't you noticed that Oshoala even struggles against average teams because she is not clinical? Even judging from that USA match, what was Oshoala's impact? Would you compare her play with Rapinoe's? Abeg, Oshoala should remain humble and learn.
Whaoooo... Someone Speaking the Fact at Last

Rapinoe dey try and she's acheived more than oshoala for sure. But make una calm down with her hype. Rapinoe is grossly overated and wasn't even the best player in that USA team itself. Her last world best award win was purely political and she herself knows it. Someone that only played 11 games in a whole year then, like how? No be juju be that grin Her being the face of LGBTQ+ also helped her.
Rapinoe isn't over hyped or rated, she worth it..
If you really want to compare player's, let me give you German Birgit Prinz and US Abby Wambach..

Who good pass??

If you watch Megan Rapinoe from 2008 till date you would know better...

What did she bring against Nigeriahuh She was locked down by a striker moonlighting as a fullback. Did she or did she not win world best a year ago? I don't care a thing about age. After all our best defender is 38. Toe to toe blow for blow. Oshoala is better than Rapinoe. Rapinoe would barely win nations cup if she were Nigerian while Oshoala would be a contender for the greatest female athlete of all time if she were American.
I hear you Sir....

The other girl is the Spanish number one so she definitely has to get her's but we all saw what Oshoala did in the Champions League quarterfinals. When Oshoala is healthy there is no woman in football faster and stronger than her. Her physical traits alone put her in a league of her own. Did you watch Meagan Rapinoe and say she was even on Oshoala's level? This is someone FIFA claim to be the best on Earth and we all saw it isn't close.
Please don't call Megan Rapinoe on this issue at all, She's definitely ahead of Asisat Oshoala as far as Women Football is concerned, She's 36yrs While Asisat Oshoala is just 26yrs... By the way what Megan Rapinoe brings to her team is very much different at 36yrs she's still the best Ball Crosser in the World and a setpiece specialist, she can Split your Defence with her dangerous deliveries. Just that Age has caught up with her...

Sarah Michael opens goal account for Malbackens IF in 7-1 triumph over Jitex
5th July 2021

Ritah Kivumbi and Ida Hallstensson scored the other goals for Malbackens.

But for injury, she would have finished the season stronger- this, I totally agree! as for the part that she's among the world's top ten, I disagree. Let's not deceive ourselves here, there are several players ahead of her at the moment. Don't you think there's a concrete reason as to why she's never a starter at her club? The reason is not far fetched- Apart from pace, which she's always possessed, Oshoala has not developed other aspects of her game. This same speed is the same reason she scores a lot of goals for her club- plus being surrounded by world class players who create multiple chances, most of which she wastes.

For her to assume that status, she has to work seriously on her finishing, also develop other aspects of her game.
Her Touches, Finishing, Abilities to take on her opponents are her major setback

Roosa Ariyo: UDG Tenerife signs Nigeria striker from TiPS

Roosa Ariyo has joined Spanish Primera Iberdrola side UDG Tenerife on a two-year deal from Finnish outfit TiPS.

Ariyo, who is born in Finland to a Nigerian father and Finnish mother, arrived at the Spanish club – her third move in Europe – after parting ways with Tikkurilan Palloseura this summer.

The 27-year-old caught the eye of the scouting team at the Spanish outfit following her impressive start for the Finnish outfit, having scored nine goals in nine appearances and they moved swiftly to secure her signature.

On completing move to Estadio Francisco Suarez, the striker expressed joy over the move to Spain and is eager to hit the ground running in the Canary Islands in the coming 2021-22 season.

“I am very happy to sign with UDG Tenerife Egatesa. They have given me very good references on how the club works," Ariyo told the club website.

"I hope to contribute all my virtues in a very attractive competition and I hope to restore the confidence of the board with goals and good performance. I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates and the fans."

At TiPS, the 27-year-old, contributed 15 assists and 21 goals in 25 games across three seasons with the Vantaa based outfit.

Before her spell with TiPS, the striker had launched her professional career with Finnish side Honka where she won the 2014 Finnish Cup during her four-season stint and later left for Swedish Elittetan club Jitex where she contributed total of 27 goals, under a total of 50 games during her lone season.

Her move to Tenerife will see her become the third African to be on the books of the Spanish giants after Cameroon midfielder Raissa Feudjio and Cote d'Ivoire striker Ange N'Guessan.

Her arrival also increases the number of Nigerians in the Spanish top-flight to 10, after Levante duo of Francisca Ordega and Andrea Okene, Eibar's Charity Adule, Barcelona's Asisat Oshoala, Sevilla's Toni Payne.

Other Nigerians are Atletico Madrid's Rasheedat Ajibade and Madrid CFF quartet of Rita Chikwelu, Ogonna Chukwudi, Osinachi Ohale and Chidinma Okeke.

On the global stage, she made her senior debut for Nigeria on 10 June 2021 in a 1-0 Summer Series opening loss to Jamaica in Houston, Texas, where she featured for 45 minutes of the encounter.

Her signing also will improve the attacking ranks of Francis Díaz's side after they failed to clinch a Uefa Women's Champions League spot, having finished the outgone season in sixth with 58 points from 34 matches.

She is expected to arrive for her medicals in the coming days before uniting with her teammates at Tenerife ahead of the new 2021-22 Spanish Primera Iberdrola campaign which kicks off on September 4, 2021.

Toni Payne extends deal with Sevilla
29th June 2021

Super Falcons of Nigeria forward, Toni Payne has extended her contract with Spanish Primera Division Women’s side, Sevilla FC.

Payne, 26, will play at the Spanish side for the next three years after the end of her previous contract.

The former Ajax player joined Sevilla in the 2018/2019 season and scored seven goals in 27 league games.

She scored five goals with five assists as Sevilla finished the 2020/2021 league season in eighth position with 45 points from 34 games.

The former American Youth International switched allegiance to Nigeria and played her first game for Super Falcons during Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over CSKA Moscow in the Turkish Women’s Cup and went on to represent the country at the 2021 Summer Series when she played against Jamaica, Portugal, and USA.
