please when coming for physical clearance, I originally planned to bring all d things I'll need for the semester.. including a bag load of foodstuffs and other things.

Now someone called me and adviced me against that, saying freshers would be moved from hostel to hostel and it's not wise to come with so many load now. that I should travel as light as possible.

my question now is, should I take this advice or is there going to be a way I can cope even if I come with as many goods as I want?

Secondly please how long does physical clearance take? ie, the minimum and maximum weeks.

thirdly I heard physical clearance is beginning on the 20th.. would 27th be too late for me to come?

senate is yet to approve the proposed calendar, most likely it would be done this week, so wait till new calendar is approved. Physical clearance dates are assigned to you on your kofa page once it commences and temporary accommodation is usually given out depends on the directive of the Dean of students. So wait till everything is set and yes travel light first if your place is not so far because temporary accommodation is for max 3weeks. Whenever you have gotten a permanent place to stay you can then get all your things down.. Note: deciding factor is proximity of home to school

Study medical courses ( medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, pharmacy, medlab, radiography, physiotherapy). You will always get a job right from just leaving school before going for internship/housemanship sef..
Then engineering courses,( 2.1 is a must here) and get IT certifications and skills along the way.
Computer science and related courses with bad ass programming skills.

Then low key courses like Quantity surveying, Geoinfromatcis, I know students who are already going for Jobs with their lecturers who are practicing while still in school and Making good cash.

For art/humanitites go for Ecostat, accounting and get chartered with good knowledge of softwares like Sage, peachtree, SPSS, E-views and other data analytic softwares..

Law is saturated already. Only those highly connected or from well to do home that won't start putting pressure on you once you graduate to start taking care of the family because law takes time before you can get established successfully.

For those general let my people go courses like ISD, history, sociology etc find a career path: Human Resource, Data analyst, IT if you are cut out for it etc. Just a BSC in those courses hardly have any relevance.
Don't just study any course because you want to graduate and be free, this is Nigeria and not US, so many courses don't have real world Application here.

with strong connect originating from VC's office/Oba's palace or Govt house anything can happen. No transfer to medicine but I know those that with one phone call their dept changed

there is currently no transfer to medlab, nursing/physiotherapy accepts. For the past five years I have spent in the dept no transfer student has been accepted.

Only firstbank doors are wheelchair friendly. I don't know if they have exclusive partnership for those doors as no other bank uses them. I hate those small circular bank doors with passion, a real fat person won't even pass without difficulty

congrats. Your first year you will basically offer basic sciences again: maths, zoology, botany, physics, chemistry.
200level : you move to core medical science courses anatomy, physiology, biochemistry.
From 3rd year you move to medlab proper with clinical posting in the teaching hospital LUTH in your case till final year with professional exams in 4th and 5th year. My advice for you is look for a second or 3rd year student to guide you as schools and lecturers vary. Good luck

You have only one option which is accepting the admission and writing Jamb again next year. Medlab doesn't accept transfer, I just graduated last month from medlab so I am giving you firsthand info. All the best

I'm a student of medical laboratory science, I just finished 400level and I'm about to enter final year but I'm confused on what major to choose. I like both hematology and medical microbiology and I'm really good at both to. I really don't know which one to choose that will not limit my opportunities and career options and also I also need to choose one that I can easily further abroad.

Also, what if I want to study medicine abroad after school? can my MLS degree get me a direct entry? will my choice of major affect this direct entry?

I have a feeling the person asking this question is from Uniben here. Anyway the elders will come and contribute with their wealth of experience but from my own little knowledge. You can get to the peak of your career no matter the specialty, MMB is more common per say than haema, you have those in pure microbiology, SLT microbiology option etc but Haema is reserved for medicine/medlab. And Yes I think a first degree in health science course can get you direct to med school instead of going through pre med in US if you feel that is the career path you want.
