Cephas0009: Baba, just like drhopeful too, I am quite confident ur admission plus funding is somewhere within the pool of application. Just be patient baba. I believe it will come shortly I am short of words but I am immensely grateful bro. I am like you in hoping I get some respite sooner than later just to calm my nerves. How about the funding you have been chasing? |

drhopeful: Hugs.... Your great news will come soon. Good that you still have 6 schools to hear back from. I understand how you feel. Please hang in there. We are here to support you. Your words of encouragement mean a lot to me. Lest I forget, that PennState funding offer, did it come after you accepted it or it was always going to be sent even if you did not accept it via the portal? |

tuffpuff: It is well with you Scholar. Those schools have lost a genius! I'm positive you'll have robust offers from your remaining applications. Thanks a lot. The reality is, the GRE (standardized tests in general) are only used to reject an applicant that the school were not going to take. Once a school (or a member of faculty) is interested in having you, even one's GPA or GRE won't matter. That's what makes the process appear more inscrutable than it should be. I have no option but to remain positive sha. Money cannot waste. |

I dey gidigba. No shaking. My resolve is further strengthened. I hope you are expectant too. I knew you wanted to defer to next fall session but I hope you still tried to apply now. |

Sbrainy: @Time2smile @scholastica16 registered with erudite consult I discovered that it was their mail they even used to register my GRE and as such, I wont have access to it so now am forced to still transact with them and even at a higher cost. You are not forced to do anything, and please just Incase of next time, try to get solid information from the house before you trudge on. I think you should ask them now for the email they used and password so you can change the password using your own code and email. Stop hedging the bulk of what you need to do on such agents/agencies. You will always have issues to rue much later. Really. |

drhopeful: Which reject again oh? Thought it was just LSU.... University of New Mexico. Saw 2 attachments and thought one was my acceptance and the other my "funding" letter so I hurriedly opened it. You can imagine my shock when I saw "I regret" somewhere. I could have reported it but I came online and saw you celebrating PennState, so I went back to silently moan. I guess it is -2/8 now for me. |

Topiipii: I remember the 4.3/5 and also knew she got a distinction, but did not know the GPA. In fact, I have to start putting Aunty in front of her name whenever I want to address her.
On a different note, where is happyday ? I forget the page but she did state 4/4. After I saw it, I understood why she was confident enough to apply to those biggies. Even the relative minnows wey we apply to still dey do us shakara. I don chop 2 rejects already as I type this. I even went to make sure my GRE scores were what I reported because I am beginning to doubt it. I don't know where HappyDay is o. Him and ChemEngr01. |

Walewummi: Thank you, gotten it. I don't have access, how is the charge different using other banks like firstbank or zenith? First off, I think card payments via those banks you mentioned was disabled by the CBN. Secondly, Access charges you N325 to $1 and TOEFL scores are sent at $20 per school. So Access will do it for you at N6500 per school as against N8500+ that those banks will charge you even if you used PayPal. |

Sbrainy: Congratulations @drhopeful
I need clarifications in these area
1. How long does it take to send ones GRE score to another school?
this second is a bit long. pls read
2. I didn't register my GRE by myself, its from a consult that helps in registration . I want to send my GRE score to some other set of schools , and since I read on earlier threads here than it is cheaper to send the money via ones bank and not third party because they will charge with the parallel market rate. I have consulted the person and he is like he cant remember the password he used to create my account but if I need to resend, I should send the money to him and he will use remember password to ask GRE to send my score to the other school. What should I do?
Thanks in Anticipation. There should be a "forgot password" link. Why not explore it to change the password then you can move ahead with your plans of sending the scores to your schools? |

Walewummi: Pls o from the toefl login portal, how do one send toefl score to another school ?
I just wrote the test last year I didnt any school then. There is supposed to be a "send score" or an "order score" button on your TOEFL account home page. Just click on it and follow the prompt. Try to use an Access bank account as they provide auspicious rates for the endeavour. |

iCool: ^I think that should be in state tuition payment or out of state waiver. Amai rite? If you are asking Drinview (Time2Smile, 2017) she got her tuition totally waived and I guess she would get an RA or TA which will keep being renewed as long as she maintains 3/4 (lol..which means she has the scholarship till she is done). |

tuffpuff: My brother...perhaps different programs have quite different procedures of processing admissions and funding. It is possible your program makes admission decisions and give out offers, then funding follows. Pls just stay calm, I believe you will get funding. Having emphasized that you do not have funds and still got accepted early, to me that is a sign that you have a propitious chance of getting funding. I'd say you should keep your hopes high. I am just seeing this. Good response. |
Education › Re: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by Scholastica16: 2:38pm On Feb 25, 2017 |
jaybiz007: Congrats in advance bro. If what they said is true, then why did they accept me quite early without any indication of funding? I even emphasized that I do not have funds in my application. K-state is just a let down or maybe I'm just overreacting. Calm down baba. Each program is treated differently as some generally have more funding opportunities than others. I am optimistic about your chances especially as it is for PhD? |
Education › Re: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by Scholastica16: 2:36pm On Feb 25, 2017 |
Congrats TuffPuff, I am proud of and happy for you. I believe like DonRiddy said, that when some other person turns down their offer they would immediately send you yours hence the slight delay. They do not want to admit you without giving you the funding you deserve and that's a very good thing! |

adetola007: Congratulations to hirschfelder and seeker88. Scholastica16, he remain only me and you without admit in chemical engineering. God will do it for us bro. Amin. Seeker88 is for Mechanical Engineering though and MSc as well. I believe all hope is not lost even for K-State. Let us just wait a bit to see how the application cycle pans out. adetola007: Congrats on your admission and funding. I want to know the secrets you used to shoot up your score from 310 to 332. I'll probably do my MSc elsewhere then target Fall 19 for PhD in Chemical Engineering. I have to have a gangster score like yours by then. Ps: my gre score is 312 and I have virtually all the necessary gre materials. Thanks As per the highlighted portion; don't pack your bags just yet. Except you have gotten outright rejections, applications are not that easy to predict. Your profile is pretty strong to me especially considering the schools you applied to in question. I know a top GRE score could go along way, but it works best when one considers the right schools as well. A score of 330+ for instance will not be any strong advantage in some schools like Stanford because every other applicant will have just about the same score. |

signature2012: Don't be decieve,in the next few days or week,it will go high again. Cynic alert! I have a feeling you want the exchange rate to keep getting bad. Perhaps, you benefit from round-tripping it. This is most certainly the reason even good policies fail in Nigeria- because someone somewhere is devising means to circumvent it. I saw a subsequent post where you stated you are an ex-banker. If that is true, you should know that the FG had been pumping in FX (as much as they could) but the exchange rate kept getting worse because they prioritized manufacturers who in turn were re-selling said FX back through the BMs in order to make outrageous profits. Well, the CBN Governor has changed methods and now FX is released to benefit school tuitions and PTA amongst other school related things so I am optimistic it will work and LAST. One reason I feel so is because the FX for the tuition will not be handed to the customer but will be wired directly to the respective schools who will have a hard time re-wiring money to the customer (if they wanted to be disingenuous) seeing that they could face money-laundering crimes in their country. |

Education › Re: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by Scholastica16: 5:24pm On Feb 24, 2017 |
hirschfelder: All PhD.. Hmmm. Asked because even with 310, someone with your profile shouldn't get "all" rejects. I guess the competition in the said programs and the ranking of the school had a role to play. This is an aside from perhaps a lack of research experience at the time. |
