Went to pick a relative at the airport late last year waited almost 1hr before she came out and a couple of days ago, went to pick another relative at the same airport, waited almost 1hr before she also shows up, was marvelled with the huge drop in number of folks trooping put of the international arrival.

Ok thanks. Was wondering how home office found out too until I saw someone mentioned that the employer informed Home office. That’s crazy. Did the person refused to take more hours?

I have also responded to your email. Thanks again.

Didn’t get the email .

My own opinion on the whole saga is owner trying to save face, reported all staffs with less hours to avoid HO getting to know about workers with less hours by themselves, to avoid terminating its licence

Hi, please if you don’t mind for the sake of others to learn from what do you mean by visa was withdrawn due to less hours?

Minimum hours to be sponsored is 37 or 37.5hrs I guess. So, if you’ve been working less than that you ain’t meeting the HO requirements. But there are some exemptions shaa (like sickness, maternity, strike action etc)

I hope something works out for them soon. It must be emotionally exhausting for his pregnant wife. Excuse my curiosity, did they work more hours as a student or as care workers doing another job outside their main gig?

Husband working for care agency on sponsorship, doesn’t get much hours and the owner of the care agency went ahead to inform HO, was then given 2months to leave. Came in via care route, never been a student.

This is exactly why I mentioned at face value........ It totally depends on the reason(s) for curtailment.....

A few years ago, I managed to assist a lady from facing curtailment to eventually recieving her ILR (her case might be different)........

Oh sorry maybe the use of my grammar is wrong , Visa withdrawn as a result of non compliance to Home office rules (less hours).

Got letter from HO to leave Uk by June (60 days expiration) letter came in late I guess or maybe they did not receive letter early.

Wow.... This is serious o...... If I was to take this at face value and they have decided to depart..... Why is she not departing much sooner (with a fit to fly certificate).....

Haa egbon mi thanks for the reply, they are still looking into pushing for other opportunities if possible, maybe another offer could show up, reason why.

Coupled with flight ticket for whole family ain’t cheap for the short term planning, they considering wife stays and put to bed before leaving as well.

But that aside, the main reason is if they can still get an offer before the date

Hi all,

I’ve got a family friend whose visa has be curtailed to leave Uk by1st week of June, the issue is that the wife is pregnant with EDD of July.

Could you please advice on how to navigate this, obviously airline might not allow entry due to closeness of the EDD date.

EDD - expected date of delivery

I know I only come here once in a while but cheers to everyone that shares important information on this thread. You are treasured!

Any data professional in the building, would love to connect. Plus is there a thread or even forum network for Black Data professionals in the UK?

I have recently ported from project management to a core data quality role (did MSc.data science) so need to overcome my imposter syndrome and be confident in my dealings with ‘onyibo’ and colleagues.

Hi guys

I am preparing for DWP Case Review Executive Officer pre recorded video interview. Does anyone have any tips for me.
The competencies tested are Communicating and Influencing
Managing a Quality Service
Making Effective Decisions

Just have 2 or three different solid answers (scenarios) for each of the competencies.

pls guys i just have a question to ask

how can a band2 nurse assistant upgrade to a band3, is there exam to be written or what is the procedure.

also, what band do nhs sponsor when it comes to nurse assistant, some ppl say they do sponsor band3 while others say its only band4 upwards they sponsor?

Band 3 upward depending on trust, most health board sponsor band 3 in Scotland.

If you don’t get an answer here would advice you hook up with someone in band 3 or get in touch with people within your team or colleague or line manager, there should be a pathway

Yes.

Paying another ihs fee for a period (3yrs) that have previously been paid in full makes no sense at all.

Zahra29 is there a way to recover this money? Cos paying double ihs fees ain't funny.

Just got information from a friend that, it will be considered as overlapping IHS which is refundable.
Said he got the info from home office.

Reason for my previous question as well.

Also, to add peope working in the Admin role in health related sector are also eligible for IHS refund every six month. Wasn’t aware of this before.

Say for instance working as a data engineer in nhs or public health, admin in care home etc, can apply for IHS refund together with dependant.

Visa transfer to a new employer.

Thanks Schoolhike.

So, you will be paying new IHS fee together with the application?

Zahra29:

It sounds like you're staying with the same employer?

If you’ll be doing a different job for your current employer, you only need to apply to update your visa if your new job is in a different occupation code.

Edit: what is your current occupation code? I believe the new occupation code for HEO is 3560

Current code is 4111, yes changing to 3560 (same employer)

Although there are two scenarios involved.

1st is changing job (occupation code) with the same employer

2nd is changing employer entirely.

Will the two scenarios above involve paying for new IHS fee, and if so, will the previous IHS be refunded back (only used less than 2 months )

Thanks Zahra.

Yes, I have the clause already covered.

That being the case, the only cost implication would then be for the visa transfer application for just me, the main applicant. My dependents don't need to apply.

Thanks

@ toughest007, do you mean when updating visa (change of job or moving to new/current employer) you only get to pay visa fee or IHS will be included?

Please anyone have experience of updating updating visa by changing jobs or role on a sponsored role with the same employer. Currently sponsored on EO got HEO and saw on gov website that a new application will still be made with new IHS, is it possible to get refund for the previously paid Ihs when the current sponsorship is still less than 2 months.

@Zahra do you have insight into this?

@Reesheeuknack..I just got a work visa, how, can I generate a share code without BRP and while still outside the UK..my HR asked of it.I plan to enter the UK next week

You can definitely generate share code without BRP

Guess you have ukvi account opened when applying for the visa.

Google (Prove your right to work to an employer)

You will have three options (Tell us about your immigration status

I have a UK Visas and Immigration account

I have status under the EU Settlement Scheme

I have a biometric residence card or permit)

Choose the first option, this will prompt you to enter the login details for your ukvi account, you will then be able to generate your share code without BRP.

I hope this helps.

Hi, anyone working in NHS with information on the ease of progressing from say Band 6 to Band 7 (Administrative role precisely)? In terms of years and skilling up and other considerable factors.

Kindly give more clarity to my situation.

I worked as a HCA in nhs in band 3 sponsored role, I was able to secure band 4 with same Trust.

Do I need to carry out any updates on my visa?
Is any update needed to be given to home office ?

Thank you

Your employer will need to inform the home office

Allowances have been made for dependant childcare born in the UK to be added to the parent's visa. Any other dependants will only be considered under exceptional circumstances.

Can you shed more light on this or reference to it.

Thanks for your detailed responses

Please o, if you can help me get the name of the course tutor, I really don't like reading books as I feel its a bit 'slow'

.. But why do they want cloud sec guys to be doing app testing, dast etc when QA guys are there angry

Baba you Dey miss niyen oh if you no Dey read.

Read one book recently (storytelling with data by Cole nussbaumer), since then I’ve always been seeing error in people’s analysis and chart lol)

Currently reading fundamentals of Data engineering still in chapter 2 (gained lots more than combinations of some courses I took in the past).

Likewise when I read pl300 (power bi) on Microsoft as compelled to do so by workplace else no access to power bi ( learnt so many things I don’t know even with my proficiency in it)

lol, this is me learning so many things when I have not gotten, I keep learning so many things at a time because in my mind I believe I don’t know anything, when I secured my first job couldn’t get to use most of stuffs I’ve learnt, in my current job, was able to use all extensively to the extent I automated almost all my workload now helping other colleagues with their task.

Hopefully one very nice job will come your way soon, then you will realised that you know a lot of stuffs that you will even think you are being under-utilised. Would just say you look for one or two solid project to work on and be able to discuss about it when interview comes your way. Because to me you’ve learnt a lot of stuffs.

Where is Justwise ohhhhhh....the class is getting too rowdy 😭

lol, remain small before you get dragged aswel,

by the way, while some of your past comments didn't quite sit right with me (as you know truth is bitter to hear), but they were always interesting to read because they offered a different perspective. But when I reflect on them objectively, they often turn out to be spot on. Your recent comments are particularly fascinating, especially on immigration matters; they're straightforward and mostly accurate.

Oh, and interestingly enough, my first baby shares the same name as yours

Yeah I know. I don't want you to limit yourself that's why I didn't call it devsecops. It's a glorified appsec. However, the more technical part is the SRE/ observability and monitoring. There's one guy I know that paid for a course called practical devsecops. I just read books.

Get to learn more and understand fundamentals when reading.

Just git to know about that late last year.

Prefer to read book and use AI to understand some concept.

This reminds me, there was an argument about a Nigerian nurse who has spent 15 years in the UK still being addressed as Nigerian-born. I guess if the situation were flipped, say, a national of another country does something bad, would it be okay to address a white-skinned person as Nigerian even after spending many years or after granting the person a citizenship? Lol, this just crossed my mind.

Point noted but the original story is still fake because they would not be travelling with CoS and a used CoS cannot be revoked.

I guess it’s not fake.

I know of someone that the wife wasn’t allowed to apply for visa because the company’s license the husband works for got canceled/revoked.

Still possible in this scenario I guess, as Zahra’s mentioned,
