Eberejesus111: Say as you deem fit. The Ibinukpabi in which the English men corrupted as "Long Juju" which was not. But this Ibinukpabi was similar to the Israelites "Ark of God" in which they carried, being that God was with them. And all nations round about them feared greatly because of the power of God (this is for the Israelites)
For Aro, these people where seen as sacred and priest who decided and made judgement as concerning any issue in the South-east and some part of the South-south. Most people on these geo-zones respected the "place they believed God made his home. "
Nri as a fellow brother of Aro. It's only objective was make refuge to those fleeing from war or unjust, just accusations and punishment.
And immediately they found themselves in that sanctuary they were untouchable and as well indoctrinated into the Nri socio-politcal and religious system.
These systems of administration by both of these groups has been one of the fundamental topics by historians, justifying that Igbos are of the Abrahamic fold and the Israelite stock in particular. The Igbos are not Isrealites. We are Africans. We are native to West Africa and Nigeria. The Ibini Ukpabi was believed by the old people to be the manifestation of Chukwu Abiama. Aro people was more clever then than other Igbos. They exploited their naivety and sold many Igbos into slavery. History must be said as it occurred. Again, Aro people never saw Nri as their brothers. To the old Aros, Nri was just another people, just like other Igbos were other people. Never in any history associated with Aro have I come across, Aros acknowledging Nri. |

OMANBALA1: Now , let's get down to history....what made Aro influential because I wouldn't compare them to Nri because it's just disrespectful Aro people established trading alliances in all known Igbo areas and beyond. The Aros were ally to Awka people, Nike people, Edda, Ohafia, Abam, Efik and the rest of them. The Aros never acknowledged Nri people, this evident in their war Chiefs Okoli Ijeoma, Ikelionwu and co, harrasing Nri communities. Again, in the oral history of Anam and the some other people of the Omambala axis, we find the wars of Edda and Aboh. These were true historical events. The Agbala of Awka was a female consort to Ibini Ukpabi. We had the Igwekala of Umunoha. The Kamalu or Amadioha of Ozuzu Etche in present River State. These were all Aro settlements. Nri doesn't come close, please. Aros have so many settlements in Igboland and beyond. Arondizogu, Ndikelionwu, Ajalli, Ndiowu and the a whole lot of community in Orumba, Atani in Ogbaru, Emeziem, Izombe, Osemota all in Oguta, Many settlements in Mbaise, Isikwuato, and some parts of Owerri. There are so many Aro settlement in Ohazara and environs. Isiokpo in River State. Additional, the towns of Umuoji, Ojoto and and few others within that axis have a story of Okoli Otie. We all know that Otie is an Aro name. That is debatable though So, nwanne, as an ardent student of Igbo history, I know about different Igbo clans. Why did the British embark on the Aro-Anglo war if Aro wasn't a stumbling block to their effective control of the hinterlands? |

[s] OMANBALA1: No Aro man can make these ridiculous claim in the presence of any historian...quite comical I have been to Igbo events in Houston and Aro dare not stand up ,talk less of taking a Kola....we know who that privilege is reserved for! [/s] I'm not Aro, however, Nri got nothing on Aro. The Aros were the most influential Igbo group before the arrival of the White man |

[s] OMANBALA1: This uniformity you are campaigning for is ruining our individual culture. Open your eyes and stop trying to force unity among people who aren't a unit. Igbo land is unique and for us to move forward we must carefully define ourselves and therein find elements we can use to cooperate. Igbo land can never be united under one ideology. To force this unity is to destroy people's cultures. For instance, Igbo Izugbe is a cancer eating deep into the ancient Omanbala culture...I see people from many Anambra towns writing "were" and "chere" instead of welu and chelu the typical Anambra person uses. Even a titled man like Victor Umeh wrote Ohamadike instead of their Aguluuzigbo variance ,Oramalu Dike. We must resist this corruption. I also urge Ndi Abia and Imo to stop using names like Chideraa, Ifeanyi, Oluchi etc...its eroding their culture. [/s] Nonsense! |

pazienza: I had told you before that the monolithic Anambra you are trying too hard to create does not exist in reality. And we have had discussion about this your "Omanbala" thing. Omanbala to my understanding is Anambra East and West and Oyi. That's Omanbala. I don't understand how you stretched Omanbala which is just those three LGAs, and maybe parts of Dunukofia and Ayamelum, to include Idemili, Aniocha, etc.
The Orumba and Ihiala (notice it's Ihiala and not Ifiani) all speak like their brothers in IMO state, they use "Were" (Welu) "Chere"(Chelu) , "Ha"(fa) "Uhu"(Uru), etc, instead of those in the brackets. They use "Oha" too, rather than "Ora".
Anambra like all states is an artificial Nigerian creation, it simply doesn't exist in cultural Igboland. You are no different from those Igbos in Rivers and Delta states who had allowed artificially created Nigerian entities post 1970 to become their new identity. You are only still claiming Igbo because your town is in South East, I bet people like would deny Igbo and claim your Omambala is now a new distinct ethnic group of its own if Anambra were not in SE.
We can't continue like this. Your level of intelligence marvels me. You should be more active on real settings like Facebook or Twitter. It will make more sense. I like to learn and debate with people like you. This nairaland is full of dummies and unintelligent folks |

I'm from a community in Isiala Mbano, Imo State. In my Umunna, when you settle the Umuada by buying what's on the list or paying 25,000. The next is to settle the Umunna which is not bigger than 50k. The next important things are the items to be bought for the parents of the girl, which you can easily settle with the girls parents. The father takes her pride price, depending on how much he wants. There's no fixed price, however,it is usually not more than 10k. After , this your wife is yours. I'm well aware of the marital rites if my kindred. |

kikake: Okigwe man. IMSG has put about N15 billion worth of modern day surface water system, including expensive water pipes, under the grounds of most of the local government areas in your Okigwe zone. The similar water project planned for Orlu zone is yet to be built.
If the water supply system is restarted now, true development begins in Okigwe zone. But you would not raise a voice for the Okigwe water supply system be put to use, as you are satisfied with drinking pooh pooh from sachet and bottled water from boreholes, sink boreholes for domestic water. Loads of people and businesses now migrating to Owerri shall comfortably reside in any community in Okigwe zone if the durable water supply system is put to use. No place is a modern town without a durable public water supply system, not boreholes.
Before long, Owerri modern surface water supply system shall return. Your mates from most of Owerri senatorial zone shall start all over again to drink treated pipe borne water, like people in Kano, Kaduna states, in London or New York. When we clamour for true development outside Owerri, you attack. Others from Owerri who understand that Owerri has shortchanged Orlu and Okigwe call us ugly names for clamouring for basic amenities outside Owerri area. 16 years have been done by sons of Orlu zone. Even the Deputy Governor is from Orlu Zone. Please, cry me another river! Btw, I'm not an Okigwe man. My community is in Okigwe zone only. |

The southern tip Of Abia where Obuaku is located, is closer to the Atlantic than any part of Imo state, including Oguta. So Oguta cannot be closer to the Atlantic than Obuaku. Oguta is far away from the Atlantic. Osemoto has the closest nautical mile to the Atlantic Ocean |

I am very sure that the wife acted the way did because of the discomfort she feels with a second "woman" enjoying the attention and niceties of her husband.

Before long, Owerri shall become a junk city with urban slums and attendant crimes all over Owerri.
