Yes that is if they got access to your Mobile Bank App on the device and your active phone line to reset the password as well as for USSD transactions. They however can't get your PIN to your ATM card

You are still not getting the gist. If a third party has access to your ATM card and the number attached to that ATM, you are as good as toast.
Some certain banks(I am sure of GTBank and AccessBank) allow you to utilize the last four digit of your ATM in conjunction with a four digit pin you create i.e you can use either of the two options to initiate USSD transactions on the phone number attached to the ATM in question.
I hope you now understand the reason?

This comparison will be limited to the most important differences.
For starters, the processor on the 'note 5 (sd636) is a much better performer than the sd625 on the '5 plus, the processor in the latter is just a little bit power efficient than the one in the former.

The camera on the 'note 5 is not just better on paper than the '5 plus but it beats it in real life performance. There is a dual 12+5mp setup on the note 5 and just 12mp on the '5 plus. The front is saddled with a 13mp on the 'note 5 while the '5 plus is just 5mp, both comes with front facing flash.

The screen is virtually same on both devices, but test conducted in the lab by professionals seems to favour the 'Note 5 over '5 plus, I doubt this little difference can be seen by average users on a daily though.

Both devices are identical in weight and size, there is harldy any difference, infact, viewing the black variant of both models from the front seems to be same device. The back view gives out the difference in both models.

If you ask me on which to get, I would advise you take the 'Note 5 because apart from being the best on paper spec-wise, it is the newer of the two devices, the likelier to get another major android update and that makes it more future-proof than the '5 plus.

India's naming of Xiaomi devices can differ to China's naming for certain devices.
The difference is what I pointed out in my earlier post.

This comparison is actually not correct putting into consideration how Xiaomi named the variants announced in China.

Redmi note 5 pro(India) = Redmi note 5AI(China)
Redmi note 5(India) = Redmi 5 plus(China)

Whatever Xiaomi product you are getting here will be named according to china nomenclature, stop mixing it up with the india naming.

Is there anybody using a custom recovery like Redwolf on redmi note 4, how do you go about updating by OTA, cos I have not been able to do all this small-small incremental update on developer rom ever since moving to MiUi 10 developer.

I doubt it has anything to do with your phone. Some networks needs airtime for the USSD banking to function. So, this is most likely a bank or network thing, not a Redmi Note 5Ai thing.

Sorry about your loss. The redmi note 5Ai is a good upgrade though, but I have a good feeling the redmi note 6 announcement will most probably be lurking around by then.
