Try another Gcam mod by another developer. On a second thought, if it's the redmi note 4(x), it might be that your device is part of the batch with omnivision camera sensor. Do a search on the net, especially on xda, you should get pointers there.

I don't think they are officially in the US, but I know for sure they are already officially present in some major European countries and they are making efforts to enter the US officially of recent.
A google search about Xiaomi will give you better view of the brand on a global level.

We will all have to wait for professional reviews by reviewers to actually know how good the Redmi 6 pro camera is. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 5 has been praised as one of the best camera ever on any redmi line, it is a real upgrade and it will likely challenge some way more expensive devices.
In addition, on paper the Redmi Note 5's camera is better than that of Redmi 6 pro (i.e. F 1.9 over F 2.2) and the front camera 13mp over 5mp. Like I earlier noted a detailed review and comparison will shed more light in few weeks time.

Yeah that processor is in a special world of it's own, highly power efficient, infact! It is kinda more power efficient than the 625 but It is highly unlikely they would use it since leaked specs are showing 4000mah, so no need for reduced performance for power efficiency.
