Elslim:
and the video is out already

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMtUi_geYS4

It's like it will have the same 3 space for cards like Redmi s2 and the infrared sensor is retained.

Anowax:
Bro how long does it take for Nipost to deliver your item from Lagos after it had entered the country to your residence's post office? Like how many days on the average?

Depends on distance, give or take 1-3 days. Make sure you put weekends into consideration.

AmazingAngel:
Yes, i think i would go with the Redmi S2, considering the camera and the sd slot, i can compromise on the battery. Have been using a samsung phone with 2050mah battery and it uses an average of 7hours on continuous use. So i think i can cope with the 3080mah too.

Thanks for the suggestion

Make sure you put the size into consideration. The Redmi S2 is marginally bigger than Redmi Note 4 and the screen resolution is just meh!
But I have to say, the camera will be better and the 3 slot for sim card and sd card.
Kindly check the redmi 5 with sd450 processor.

Also, if you ain't in a hurry, wait a little bit and check out some new models that will come out very soon before making the jump.

henry007:
A beautiful phone with black face and red back. What's not to love about the Redmi 6 pro?

Na that black front just make me happy! All those Aliexpress sellers and their monopoly go chop am

They had to make the Redmi 6 plus a little different from Note 5 and 5 plus. Hope the 4000mah stays and at least use sd630 (I know it's practically same with sd625, but make the figure sha change).
All we notch haters might succumb our hatred if important things stays or betterstill get improved on.

Untor! To the resellers on Aliexpress, no more black monopoly we can just buy any colour and slap a black case on it.

eleojo23:
They must be joking..

Who dey give them advice these days sef?
The person needs to be sacked!

Na to buy new back cover, new battery go happen last last for this note 4 third party rom kuku yapa

Ifedith:
Lol... Yeah.... All thanks to one big bross like dat. Raj finished work

Congrats!

HITTED:
I ordered for a few items through AliExpress and after 3 weeks of tracking I got a message that my items had arrived Lagos but name or address of post office was not given. I spent 3 days going from one post office to another until I found my items at NIPOST in Falomo, and still had to pay after answering over 101 stupid security questions. Couldn't they have at least called me? But Jumia will not only bring your items but deliver it to your address. I prefer Jumia jare.

Most of the things you wrote here are your own doing. Did you input your exact address in the space provided when setting up your account? A working phone number?
On the jumia part, they have local presence here in Nigeria, so providing home delivery is easier for them.
Goods that lands in the post office ought to be despatched to the addresses pasted on them, but due to the way the whole system is stuctured they hardly carry out this part. (so no blame Aliexpress on that part)
I will also acknowledge the fact that there might be issues in some cases at some given period that might require patience, all in all your funds are safe.

Mind you, I have been using Aliexpress and other Chinese websites for like 2 years+ and I have never had any issues, even the delay issue that happens randomly has never occured in my case. I get my goods within the given time frame.

Shegun010:
Even me sef dey wonder about there camera placement. And its what they've been using on their recent devices

Bros, I just tire. Xiaomi engineers didn't impress with the vertical camera placement phones at all. Most of the phones just look like Iphone X clones from back.

Gptech:
Nr mind dem. Meanwhile, I like the back pass Redmi note 5 back, but make dem do release the Snapdragon version because this mtk route, we know the end result.

Waiting patiently for the Redmi 6 Plus, maybe that one go get like 5.84" 18:9 screen and 1080p with better battery capacity.
Though, this Redmi 6's screen size is closer to my preference but the screen resolution and most especially the processor is not convincing at all.

This P22/A22 range of Mediatek chips might improve on battery what of other areas like kernel sources and development, abeg I no ready buy liability

Forgot to add, I thought I was the only one who lowkey didn't like the trend of vertical camera placement, especially considering the fact that most of the phones with it have them exactly like Iphone X, abeg shey dem no fit put the led flash below the two camera rings ni?
I prefer this horizontal one on the Redmi 6, it looks better and different from the trend.

adeniyisamuel59:
No, I didn't

Check the nearest post office and insist they check very well.

ayethecreator:
That's the issue, I can't find where it is in order to apply it

Apply one of the follow come themes.

adeniyisamuel59:
Please, can someone help me with this information, does it mean my order is readily available in Nigeria.

Did you by chance press the dialog box labeled "item received" or something similar?

fibonacci2526:

rust6:
Please does coconut redmi note 5 global version support glo4g

I don't know of any coconut phone, atleast not yet! The XIAOMI redmi note 5 global version doesn't support Glo's 4G band.
But there is a version in Taiwan, not sure it is available yet, it should support Glo's band.

4llerbuntu:
which is which?

The redmi note 5 pro is the indian variant of Redmi Note 5 in china, it is almost the same device save for the difference in front camera; 13mp front camera for China version, 20mp front camera for the India version. Also, the India variant launched with Nougat 7.1.2 while the China variant launched with Oreo 8.1, but I think the india variant should already have the update to Oreo 8.1.

The second the device up there is just the redmi 5 plus as named in china, it is named the redmi note 5 in India(this is the main confusion ). My advice is that you should take the china naming scheme more seriously because that is where you would most likely be purchasing your device.

Back to your original request, just as @Gptech posted, get the Xiaomi device with Snapdragon 636 available on Aliexpress.
It has the 3+32gb, 4+64gb and 6+64g variant; na your money go determine where you go dance go.

Note: make sure you get the one clearly marked Global version not just global rom; it has all the 4g bands utilized in Nigeria save for band 28 used by Glo.

ephibob:
do you hava a link on how to get one? looks expensive on jumia. also havent tried aliexpress before

Search on Aliexpress for the said devices, my recommended stores will be: Xiaomi Online Store, Eternal Store and maybe fantasy and Goldway.
The first two are my most trusted based on personal experience and they ship to Nigeria.
On a second thought, try folks on here in the person of Noobody, Protein0, Holuwaxheun, Macbeyland etc. The above listed individuals can help you with ordering/shipping, they are tried and tested by different members of this thread on numerous occasions.

ephibob:
Hey guys!
I'm new to this thread.

I'm torn between buying a Xiaomi Redmi note 5A and a Tecno Camon X.

I'm more about screen resolution, battery and camera. however none of them has a pixel density >400ppi.
My budget is 50k+ tho.

If there are better tecno and xiaomi brands that fit into the budget, please recommend.

Add a little to your budget and get the Redmi Note 4x or the Redmi 5 plus, will advise you get the latter due to the fact that it is the more recent of the two.

4llerbuntu:
Please if I make an order on AliExpress, payment is still being confirmed, I then cancel it

What will happen to my money?

The payment is still not confirmed. And the order has not entered processing.

My money had been deducted sha

I haven't cancelled an order before ever.

I broke my phone screen, and ordered a replacement early today.

Now I'm changing my mind and would rather just buy a new phone.

My money soon enter voicemail?

No it won't.
Just be patient, your money will be refunded between 3-15 days; depends on your bank.

anitank:
Ok thanks. Did you eventually get one? If yes which store did you use and is the tab still working?

Check out lenovo p8, tab 3, tab 4 etc on Aliexpress.

Protein0:
Black Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 4+64gb: 74k
Freebies: Two tempered glasses, one silicone case and 1 EU plug adapter plus a 50% chance of a Xiaomi earphone depending on my affect

Omo see sweet deal

If you have the Speaker replacement part for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon for sale and readily available in Nigeria here kindly quote me, pictures will be appreciated too.

Cc: Protein0, Noobody, Holuwaxheun and others

JulianoB:
If you use a different region the first time of using the phone, does it determine the types of app that will be installed in the phone?

It should, mine was not exactly the same scenario, I switched because of font to india and the whole process added about 3 or 4 new apps. I can remember amazon and one india specific Mi forum community app.

Ifedith:
This is it.. Devs optimize games for iPhone more than Android since they earn more from them,... But on a lvl playing field,.. No offence, a11 chip dey creep for adreno... Nothing beats it....that's the fact.

And what exactly will be the level playing field? Putting in mind the bolded if I were to consider a mobile device for smooth ish free gaming experience what device will be reasonable to choose?
Note: the argument here is on normal flagship android devices and top of the line iphones not the recently introduced Android gaming devices.

In addition, there are so many other top applications that are only available or better still work better on the iOS platform i.e some sound mixing/recording apps for studio quality sound editing.
On the gpu front you've been repeating, the adobe photoshop editing app and others like that are just better on iOS no argument on that.

The main reason why this will continue to be the case for android is because of fragmentation of the OS (how many android devices are already on OREO and android P will soon be released, too many devices to manage, different chipset from different manufacturers etc etc.

Ifedith:
Best gaming where.?
Nothing beats adreno in the snapdragon... Take it or leave it

On the mobile front, the apple phones are ahead in terms of gaming. The reason for this is not far fetched, it is simply optimization. It is very easy for them to optimize their OS in tandem with the processor since they have a few devices to manage.
If you're still not convinced, check benchmark comparisons and video reviews on YouTube.
