Kingxway: This is what I got when I pressed the button. No option to set to any country
Go to Settings - Additional settings - Region, from there you can change your region. Be warned though, when you change region, some additional region specific MiUi apps gets installed. So in your case, changing to India will add some apps targeted to the india market.
This is what I meant. I think there should be an all apps button at the center or by the side of the screen. It has only home button. To locate your apps, you have to stroll side ways
I guess you're asking for a button that brings all your app lists right? Most Chinese fork android roms don't come with that, all your apps shows directly on the home screen. If that key is very important to you, download a third-party laucher like Nova to get it.
olak4gold: I dislike notch. Any durable product with amoled and at least 4000mah battery with good processor is ok by me. The only thing I missed on my rn5 is amoled screen Fyi sgn9 is above my budget.
The plain truth is the notch will grow on you, I personally would prefer phones not having it though. On the amoled coming to the redmi series, even if it does, be rest assured it will be of inferior quality compared to the ones used in their flagships like the mi 8 series not to talk of the Samsung galaxies.
The Redmi Pro utilized amoled screen you can try and find comparison reviews online. The reason Xiaomi has not brought out another redmi model with amoled at that price range again is not far fetched, it's simply not up to par.
macbeyland: That's not my suggestion. I mean posting link as an ad.
E.G I am one of the verified sellers of xiaomi products on this thread. Click on the link below to view my fantastic deals.
As an addition to this, you guys can just post a prelude of some sort that is very short. The prelude will consist of few of your hottest products presently available for sale and you attach a link to your thread. I think Ifedith's advert is arguably the shortest amongst you touts. You guys can make use of his as an example.
macbeyland: Exactly. I actually posted it there to emphasize the fact that we are aware of the effects but we just can't do anything about it.
Shey you dey mind me ni, me that I am a sucker for fascinating tech products even though money never too dey to buy them On a serious note, this auto prediction na real silent killer.
macbeyland: Sadly bro. In my house, my lights are controlled by voice. I can stay in my bedroom and turn off and on the lights in my sitting room by just issuing a voice command. Although it's very convenient, we all know what that does to the body that's meant to be physically active?.. before I forget, from next week, customers will be able to get xiaomi smart LED lights from me. Led light that can change to any color you want, can be controlled using your mobile phone or voice control via Google assistant.
Was I the only one that found the bolded hilarious considering your earlier observations on tech generally Bros! We are getting duller oo!
Henryneo: Hey guys so i just got my Xiaomi MI 8. Omo this phone is baaaaad. I also made a review video here. I'm also running MIUI 10. man i gats to say that software is really great
The first step is ensuring you are either on Android Oreo which has the camera2api enabled by default. Otherwise it has to be done manually which requires the device to be rooted. In the case of a Xiaomi device, it has to pass through the unlocking bootloader to rooting process. Check my previous post for the tutorial on unlocking and rooting.
Requirements 1. Rooted device 2.Android verison 7+ preferably. (kindly double check this on the web) 3. Download Camera2api enabler flashable zip. (Flashable with custom recovery). 4. Download Camera2api enabler Magisk module in zip format. (There is a magisk repository on Xda forum full of magisk modules). 5. Download Manual Camera compatability app on playstore. 6. Es file explorer or any explorer with root capability.
*Since a rooted device is mandatory for GCam module, to root your device you must have installed a superuser which opens up the root part of your android system AKA root. Magisk is currently the most advance form of superuser apps which enables root systemlessly.(Kindly read up on the web). With Magisk root can be acquired without being visible to the entire system.
Magisk method Open the magisk manager app and navigate to 'menu' by swiping from left to right, click on 'modules' and click the 'yellow + label' below to add a module, this will take you into your storage. Navigate to the previously downloaded Camera2api enabler magisk module in zip format and add. Reboot your phone to enable changes.
Custom Recovery method Those with a custom recovery on their device e.g TWRP, Redwolf, Philz etc should flash the camera2api enabler flashable zip through recovery.
Root explorer method For this example we are utilizing Es file explorer. Open Es file explorer, navigate to the menu and activate root option. Tap on 'options', select 'Device', select 'System' , select 'Build Prop', Tap Edit, And type the command below: persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Click Save. Reboot your phone.
After using any of the above method to enable Camera2api, Now open the Manual Camera Compatability app and do the test. If the result turns out all green, you are good to go to utilise most versions of the GCam mods available.
Google Camera mod settings
I personally utilize MGC Google camera mod on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon Global. Search and read online about other mods available.
Settings; BSG Mod settings
Model: Nexus 6p
Config camera HDR: Pixel 2017 zsl HDR+
HDR+ parameters: the higher the better the HDR after effect and the higher the time it takes to process HDR after effect. Just select 'High'
Manual fixed black level offset: Fix black level front camera: 64.00 Leave the remaining at default here.
Lens blur: default
Final JPG quality: 100%
Compress RAW (*DNG): activate
Potrait Mode on all models: activate
Increase the detail of HDR+ in front camera: activate
Restart app to enable new settings.

scotweezy: I posted some times back that I will write a concise tutorial on my journey through unlocking bootloader, rooting without tampering with stock recovery. Well! Below is what I could come up with;
Follow @Kstan's tutorial on unlocking bootloader I personally didn't utilise VPN and I got unlock permission very early the next day, actually way less than 24 hrs. Also, chrome, puffin or any other SIMILAR browsers can be made use of on phone to do the applying (please abeg no opera mini oo)
Additionally, due to network issues, getting your account bonded might not happen once. Repeated messages of 'error' will be returned just keep repeating till you get a positive confirmation.
Search for Kstan through Nairaland search to check for his post on unlocking bootloader.
Process to root without tampering with the stock recovery of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4(x) snapdragon version. This is essential in order to be able to do OTA.
Requirements; 1. Unlocked bootloader 2. Latest Adb and fastboot setup (in exe format) 3. Latest TWRP custom recovery for mido (in img format) 4. Latest Magisk manager app (apk format) 5. Latest Magisk zip. 6. Lazyflasher-no-verity for mido (zip format) 7. Latest stock recovery for mido.(incase you mistakenly install a custom recovery)
Note; 'mido' is the nickname for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4(x) snapdragon version. Ensure you find the LATEST versions of the above required files on the web (check the ever reliable XDA forum) except otherwise stated by the developer(s) of such resources.
If you're sure you've unlocked your device *check by going to 'settings' - 'additional settings'- 'developer options' and check 'unlock status' if your device is unlocked, you should see 'this device is unlocked' or something similar.
Before starting any tweaking on your device kindly find a way to do a NANDROID BACKUP aka full backup. Mi PC suite might be required for this or search the web for necessary steps.
*Copy all the above files to your PC to have a spare copy and your full backup and ensure you know the folder they are saved on your phone*
By now you should ensure 'usb debugging' under 'developer options' on your xiaomi device is activated.
Install the adb and fastboot setup on your PC.(kindly do a good web search on installing adb and fastboot on your computer relating to Xiaomi devices)
Next is to test the adb, navigate to the folder of the adb setup on your pc, it is usually located in the 'local disk' folder under 'computer' Connect your device, on your computer still in the 'adb and fastboot folder' press the 'shift key' and the 'right mouse button' do the pressing Simultaneously, navigate to 'open command prompt' and click. (the command prompt window will now open)
Type the command 'adb devices' the returned prompt should be 'devices connected' with some set of numbers which is peculiar to that particular device. If the returned prompt is not like the above then you will have to go back a few steps of this tutorial and troubleshoot.
Rename the TWRP in img format to 'recovery.img' and copy into the 'adb and fasboot folder' on your computer.
Now, switch off your phone and boot into fastboot mode by simultaneously pressing the power button and volume down button, wait for some few seconds till you see a Mi avatar and the word 'fastboot', now connect your phone to your computer.
Like previous, go into command prompt while in the 'adb and fastboot folder', this time around we will test for the fastboot status of the phone by inputting command 'fastboot devices' just like before the returned prompt should be 'connected devices' with some specific numbers.
Now, input command; 'fastboot boot recovery.img' Your phone should boot into TWRP recovery. (Very important: Ensure you DON'T swipe to enable modification). Click to flash to install zip and navigate to where Magizk.zip and swipe to flash. Repeat the flash step but this time around locate Lazyflasher-no-verity.zip and swipe to flash. (this step is very necessary to avoid bootlooping) Find the reboot button and click.
*Booting might take a little while than usual just be patient. Incase of bootlooping repeat the connecting to fastboot mode and boot into TWRP and flash Lazyflasher-no-verity.zip.

You quoted me first and that post you quoted was coming from issues with Third-party fonts with apps.
I'm not responsible for how you choose to decode a simple analogy.
If you know yours worked for you, kindly post it so that others would learn. No one has monopoly over knowledge.
GrandMufti: Oga I was on my own when you quoted me and I am telling you that two persons earlier said it didn't work for them. Shey na me buy the phone for dem?
As long as you mentioned Third-party theme / font, be ready to use an app
I never knew you were aware of the fact that nobody owns monopoly to knowledge, so why exactly the assertion in the bolded part of your post?
GrandMufti: Read from the initial queries. They were asking how to use Third-party app to change fonts, not the fonts available from themes app. Na you dey confuse ya sef. Even the method Ifedith used was a Third-party app. Read! Read! Read!
Head dey pain me sef
I don't get it? You are imploring me to read while you are repeatedly failing to do the same over and over again. Didn't I mention that I applied a Third party font using the normal way in my previous post? Yeah! They asked about using a third party app to apply fonts, I saw that and none of my post later on imply I didn't.
P.S: "Normal way" means importing the third party font/theme to the themes app and applying it from there. And "third party font/theme" means the font/theme gotten from another source other than the stock theme app.
You just have a good way of twisting everything upside down to fit your preferred narrative.
Once again, I am doing this to clear a very wrong assertion. You don't necessarily need a third party app to apply third party fonts/themes, a bug or being on either stable or developer rom might be the hinderance.
NigeriaBam: Uncle kindly eat ''Ebure" .. Let say No Argument..
If you check my profile, you will see that I only comment once in a while on here. I am just taking it upon myself to correct a wrong assertion, that's all.
GrandMufti: Oga I was on my own when you quoted me and I am telling you that two persons earlier said it didn't work for them. Shey na me buy the phone for dem?
As long as you mentioned Third-party theme / font, be ready to use an app
So you are intentionally omitting the specific details of my peculiar situation? I don't get it? Is this whole thing some sort of words-game to you? The only reason I am even replying this is because I feel a lot of newbies and old members alike here take your inputs very seriously, so why is it so hard for you to take others input?
What exactly will I gain by misleading others? So just because two people mentioned something is not working for them, then, it directly means it is and will not work for others? And the funny thing is that my case is still quite different to theirs because I didn't make use of any third party app to get the third-party font working on the said device.
You really need to get down from your high-heels bro! You don't know it all.
GrandMufti: You obviously didn't read what two other persons here posted. They said the app na wash
Then, I will still revert you to the first message you quoted, you didn't read through at all. Kindly go back and re-read carefully. I didn't in anywhere mention using any app to apply the theme/font, I stated clearly using the word "normally". For the sake of avoiding derailing of the thread, I applied a third party font recently on redmi note 4 on global stable 9.5.19 using the normal method.
GrandMufti: Hehehe. Same here. Na to hope something good comes up
I think this third party theme/font of a thing not working is peculiar to only developer roms because I still changed fonts the normal way recently on global stable 9.5.19 redmi note 4.
takxus: please gurus in the house I need help. after unlocking my phone and installing team win recovery. I got bootloop issues. what do I do next and I would like to root it with SuperSU. redmi 5 plus. its urgent please
Did you flash Lazyflasher-no-verity.zip? And have you tried re-booting after the first reboot at the end flashing TWRP? Cos the first try usually doesn't boot up, it is at the 2nd try that my phone comes up.
fibonacci2526: Nor vex. I buy most of my glasses from this store.
