What's the meaning of a "DECLINE MAIL"

GTbank is currently telling me before they can refund my money back to me ,I will have to get a Decline Mail from seller..
_
I canceled the order on the 28th of March and the transaction was approved to be refunded.. But my bank says I should get a Decline mail from the merchant before they can reverse my 60,000naira..
They are getting crazier by the day in that bank. From their useless GTworld app to late sms alert, I have jejely focus more on Access now, they have a better service overall.

Just sorting out my files when I saw this!! Sincerely I'm angry because I never authorise the download; I have to believe it downloaded automatically. I saw the notification but I ignored it because I read the update doesn't support custom themes. 1.3GB gone!! undecided

As e don happen, please how do I install (or flash) it since it's in zip format?? Gurus in the house abeg put me through

Hey Georgioo, are you able to use custom themes? How true?
Until xiaomi officially re-release this particular update, you won't be able to install through normal updater. I downloaded this particular rom version from MiUi forum and when I tried updating through updater it brought back the notification that "it is a nightly rom and I have to be a registered beta-tester to be able to go on with the update" so, I resorted to updating through custom recovery. If you check back on one of my previous post you should see a guide I wrote on rooting/unlocking, there, you will find how to boot into a custom recovery temporarily through fasboot without tampering with your stock recovery.
For the record I have utilized both TWRP and Redwolf recovery to flash a number of mod/zips which also include the above rom update.

As for the custom theme, it's been a while I downloaded themes.

Note: you might try updating and it might work but I highly doubt because the updater will have to verify the rom version first(that is why you have to be connected to the internet during updating) before re-booting into recovery to finish the update process.

The conversation is a lil long but let me start from here.

Now someone asked me,

Which seems pretty specific to his situation. He asked me because i said this

So for you to enter the conversation and talk about which MIUI version is necessarily slapped on which Android version is basically just some ITK bants that is off point. You need to give it a rest. Never claimed to be smarter than everyone (even though it may seem that way). I'm not responsible for how you feel or your complex. undecided
Well! That was clearly an oversight and I apologize for that, but that explanation is still correct maybe not to the reply but it is. I know you're good with words and bants but you don't have to be rude in your replies cos I can't exactly remember being rude in any of my replies to you on this page.
It is all good, have a productive day ahead.

I just joined Xiaomi train last month. I never got to experience MIUI 8 but those are 2 different versions of Android so......
Can you explain what you exactly mean by that bold part? undecided
What you are failing to realise is that you are making assertions far from the fact and when others try to correct you, you end up making it a case of being attacked on the thread.
There are many newbies coming in everyday, now, imagine a case where the first post a newbie reads is one of your misguided statements undecided, the most unfortunate thing on this issue is that you are a reviewer and a lot of people will start taking your words as the correct thing whereas it is the opposite in truth.

I have once advocated for people to be able to air their opinions whether is contrary to popular ones but we should apply wisdom to this. A lot of people are way more knowledgeable than you here especially on Xiaomi matters and that is one thing you are finding hard to accept.

They are not necessarily different android versions bro! Some xiaomi devices are still on android 5 lollipop and they've been update to MiUi 9.
The MiUi version takes the front seat in terms of priorities for Xiaomi software engineers. As an example, the Xiaomi Redmi note 3 mtk version has never been officially updated higher than android 6 marshmallow and it has prolly been updated to MiUi 9.
For the sake of newbies joining the thread, let's try to state things close to facts and not hearsay.

Thank you, Sisterly. Please amongst these model redmi note 5 Pro, REDMI note 5 plus, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5A Prime and Mi Max 2, which one will be your no. 1 top pick
If the larger the better is your personal mantra as regard screen size, then the Mi Max 2 will be your best bet amongst the devices listed above.
But if the sweet spot is the 5.5" kindly go for the Redmi Note 5, it is the best of the redmi series presently.
And lastly, if your budget can't pass 60k, kindly put Redmi 5 plus or the 4GB/64GB version of Redmi Note 4 in mind.

Kindly state your exact maximum budget for a phone.

how do i backup my present rom except via twrp
I have personally not done a full nandroid backup before on any android mobiles have owned without the use of more advanced mods/apps like TWRP (gurus here can help clarify this part) but I feel a backup of important apps' data, settings, syncing of contacts; notes; messages with MiCloud and transferring of media files to external storage should be enough.
Another important thing is to download and keep both fastboot and recovery version of a particular rom version you feel is stable and works well(this should at least be a little recent). This will ensure you have something to fall back on if any update go wrong.

Meanwhile this shipping phone thing is not for the weak, new Xiaomi phone on the way. cool
Bros! stop this 'Don't upgrade', if most people go with this your advise na untop MiUi 8 android 6.0 people like us wey buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 early last year go still dey.
whatever happened to taking risk or better still asking for other people's review before updating.

My advise for anyone thinking of updating is to: ask for others review; keep a backed up version of your present rom incase of issues with the new update. And you don't need to update if it's not a major jump, there are no serious issues with your present version, no new interesting features that you really like to try out in the change log.

Personally, it took me a while to update from MiUi 8 to 9, but it happened to be the best update for my device. I am currently on 9.0.5.0 and I'm planning to join the 9.5 crew soon na data no deycry

Great... Thanks for this swift reply
I flashed the latest v9.5.4.0 via flash tool because it just stop showing in updater app even when I've downloaded to some level... So I thought I noticed d device getting a little bit hot, but it's just in my head, kinda cool down now even with data on and usage
Why did you go the route of fastboot to flash? Why you no use the normal recovery rom update?

SOT thing of 3500mAh battery phone

Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m):
And we must all understand that just because someone is posting 10, 12, 13hrs of SOT on same phone as yours doesn't mean you too will get same.
A lot of factors affect the efficiency of the battery, one of the important factors is the usage of the owner.
In between those 12 hrs of SOT are long stretch of video watching offline which always end up boosting the SOT of a phone in such scenario. Some even don't utilize mobile network, they use Wi-Fi.
Some people are in areas with very cool temperature and fantastic network reception.
At the end of the day, all these factors will add up together and translate into excellent or not so good battery efficiency.

400 mins is 6hrs 40 mins.
Isnt that OK.. U no dey get light for ur side?...
Try to reduce brightness when indoor.. I hope u dont have battery apps like *DU battery saver* do uninstall them.. Also Get a powerbank... Update till there isnt any update left and do a factory reset..

Best of luck bro..
Thanks for this oo! Na like 10% depletion every 40 mins na. So what are we still saying sef angry

Etisalat and airtel. The airtel seems to be failing once a while. Having switched to 3G from 4G there's an increase of 1 minute before I loose a percentage
Kindly check the SOT when you've depleted to like 20%, checking per minute na just wahala you dey give yourself.

I believe if you can average close to 5:30hrs SOT after full depletion which is usually not advisable, then your phone is very okay.

If others get something way higher than that on average on the same phone, then we can conclude yours is part of the few defective units if situation does not change provided you've done all the recommendations above.

I could remember when I got my Redmi Note 4 Global back then, was still in benin, and was switching between Glo and MTN.
I hardly got 6 hrs SOT, later on when I got stable on MTN my SOT improved and my phone operated cooler.

The truth is a lot things affect battery efficiency.

I will return to jumia. I bought the one with 6 months warranty
Why do I feel your panic is too far fetched? undecided
What network are you using? Is the network stable in your area? If the answer is 'GLO' and it is not stable, bros! your battery dey try sef be that.
Hope your screen brightness slider is not turned all the way up? Halfway should be the Ideal.

It might also be the case of over-expectation, your phone is equipped with a 3000mah phone with a 28nm fabrication type chipset, so don't expect the same battery life like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or phones using similar chipset.

And another angle to see this might be the rom it came with, maybe some bugs are present. Try and update to the latest available version and ensure you are using a network that is fairly stable in your area.

And most importantly, your usage will go a long way to determine how efficient the battery will be.

Hmm...na today this drop down menu colour change start o.

It has gone from blue to green to purple in just one day...today
You probably changed to one of the default themes that come with the phone or you recently downloaded one with default style of pull down notification.
Now to the colour changing; it is as a result of the weather app, which changes colour in correspondence to weather e.g cloudy, sunny, daytime etc. Have different colours.
If you are in an area with blazing network, the colour will change constantly due to constant refresh of the weather app.

If after reading the above review and you are impressed with what you see, kindly do yourself a favour and google search the 'Xiaomi' brand before you start comparing with all these medicore over expensive things all these companies are choking down our throat all in the name of cheap phones.

And if buying is the next on your agenda, kindly check Aliexpress or search for Xiaomi Thread in the technology section and ask all your Xiaomi related questions.

Modify: You can get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4(x) for around 56k give or take if you know the right place to buy.

Check previous posts of these monikers; @protein0 @noobody @holuwaxheun and get Xiaomi devices at fantastic prices from them.
