Hi.. Looking to buying a 7" tab for just games in Amazon or AliExpress... Not expensive. Any suggestions pls
I am not exactly sure of the best deal but I will advise you check Lenovo Tab 3 and 4 7" models, Huawei mediapad T3 7" models. Check other Lenovo and Huawei models too.
They are not the most powerful but they are definitely okay for the money and I would take them over not so popular brands.

Good morning house. I need a charger for my redmi note 4x. I misplaced d follow come. Abeg any recommendations
Make sure you download 'Ampere' app from playstore and use to check the average output of the chargers you will be checking.
If the ratings doesn't clock averagely 1750 mah when data connection is off kindly refuse the charger (this is for a 5V 2A rated charger).
Make sure you test for few minutes before making your conclusion.

Okay. I'll check it out, thanks a mil
It is actually lenovo P8 not P3. Amazon prices seems to be way cheaper compared to Aliexpress for most of the tablets I listed earlier.

Did it in under 3 hours.
Seems people like it short sef.
For this particular model most people won't mind a short one cos they would have probably seen a lot of other reviews. But a longer and more detailed video might be needed for a freshly released device or maybe different short videos to explain different section. e.g. Unboxing, UI, Camera, Battery etc.
Though, I for one will like a longer video that all the above is packed in.

Nice video, keep it up wink

Hello everyone, I have 2 questions/issues ;

1) Will Xiaomi 2c power bank work perfectly with Leeco le S3? I mean the fast charging feature.

2) I need recommendations for a cheap but good tab on Aliexpress

(I'm sorry for derailing though cheesy)
Lenovo P8
Lenovo tab 4 (I am not sure this one is on Aliexpress cos I saw it on Amazon)
Huawei mediapad M3 lite (not sure if this is on Ali too)

All the above are good tablets with okay SOC.

Things don't work like this. Production costs are taken into consideration before deciding a unit's selling price. Paying royalties for quick charge on a midrange /budget series would shoot up the price and defeat the aim of producing such phones. That's why they're taking the risk with qc on flagships.
Bros I don watch one video for YouTube, when the guy plug im redmi 5 plus join normal follow come charger the thing show 'charging' under the battery level for locked screen but when he later plug am to QC 3.0 charger, after few seconds the thing change to 'quick chatging'

gsmarena too make mistakes, the screen shot is from miui forum, just Google it. I may be banned for posting link so I shared a picture. Stock or miui doesn't matter, kernel controls a lot of things, if xiaomi is ready, an update which includes additions of quick charge is possible, provided they pay for the royalty. As of redmi note 4, I personally used a kernel that supports charging up to 2.5a, I'm waiting for bootloader unlock, I'll have shown u screenshot as i recently acquired a note 4 again.
I hope this kernel can work with MIUI stock rom?
If yes, kindly drop a link smiley
If No, can it at least work with MIUI based custom roms?
Me I sha don pass average user grin and this phone sef go soon dey mark one year, make I turn the head small. grin

Modify: Abeg which charger you dey use for the Redmi note 4, cos I get one QC 3.0 charger for ground.

Apologies for derailing this thread this much na network dey act up. lipsrsealed

@acekid109 I later checked YouTube and saw a particular video showing the quick charge capability of Redmi 5 plus.
I guess there is something Xiaomi is not mentioning concerning Redmi note 4 not supporting and Redmi 5 plus supporting. The whole issue is kinda controversial if you ask me.

For the record @acekid109 is right, if you want quick charge and not just the QC 1.0 but higher kindly get yourself a QC 3.0 charger, it will charge way faster.
In addition check the version of your rom too.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by scotweezy(m): 7:10pm On Feb 14, 2018
acekid109:
it has quick charge, u can check miui forums, even if xiaomi does not pay royalty, qc can still be added later as seen in mi a1, once the processor n the battery has qc support.
You should ask the question, is it the same story with Mi 5x that is the same device save for the different rom utilized? undecided

And make sure your reply is based on average users not techies that can flash anything flashable.

software definitely matters, redmi 5 plus which is the same as redmi note 5 has fast charge, techtablets reviews says so, but u have to buy adapter. Mi A1 has but it was recently enabled by the oreo update, this particular one was possible through update. Even redmi note 4 charges faster with some custom roms

I understand the Mi A1 anomaly but that is very easy to understand based on the fact that it utilises stock like Android rom.
Concerning the Redmi Note 4 charging fast, I have personally not seen anything on the net pointing to charging fast like faster than normal 'fast charge' AKA QC 1.0. You can kindly support your claim with factual evidence.
You also have to put into consideration that custom roms are a different ball game. We talking something that can be easily achieved by average users.
On Redmi 5 plus, kindly check the screenshot of GSMArena's review below concerning your fast charging claim (i.e. Faster than normal '5V/2A')

As for me, I take GSMArena over techtablets.

I don't think so bro, I do watch some of his videos and I have heard him made some wrong calls concerning specification.

Note: I watched that particular Redmi 5 plus unboxing review and the '24hrs later' follow up video.

@paulmarkino abeg can you kindly help answer few questions on ebay shopping;
1. What payment method do you utilize exactly? Cos I don't think the paypal checkout for master and visa's debit card is still working in Nigeria.
2. How long does your package take averagely to get to Nigeria?
3. Do they give tracking number like aliexpress?
4. And how do you compare the experience with Aliexpress shopping.
5. If you have any info on Amazon shopping to Nigeria directly, will appreciate info on that too.

They tried with the Note 5 pro design even if it looks like the iPhone X. At least it's not the same as the Note 4.

Also it's not even just about the price but the price and the specs combo.

No fast charging. That part is weird. However, a software update can fix that.
I don't think software update can do anything, though a third party patch helped in Redmi note 3, I doubt something like that will be available for this model. Has something to do with paying Qualcomm royalties because the SOC does support QC 3.0.

So I ordered a Redmi 5plus 3gb+32gb (spent about 70k) for a lady from Dreami store and it arrived in 14days only for her to say the phone was too hefty. I offered her 30k and my Mi5.

Would you call that a fair deal?
Based on how long you've used your Mi5(i.e present physical condition and battery endurance) how much do you feel you can sell the Mi5?

You can just get the one by Xiaomi in the 2nd link.

KEEP TELLING ME CAN'T LOAD IMAGE, I av tried all the available recovery image for Redmi note 4x, rename all to recovery.img and twrp.img, none is working .... ANYONE IN LAGOS and it's environ that can help me flash the recovery will be appreciated...
I can't exactly say what is wrong in your own case but I will advice you take some steps back in the whole process and gently troubleshoot.
Read up online and check others that have similar issues.

Pointers for troubleshooting;

1. Check if the adb is properly installed and it is the latest check this linkhttp://www14.zippyshare.com/v/ufYG71o0/file.html
2. Cross check and ensure the recovery is from official source, check here for TWRP for mido https://dl.twrp.me/mido/, then do the renaming and move the renamed file to the folder of our now freshly installed Adb/fastboot folder (usually located in local disk).
3. Now use the command 'fastboot boot recovery.img' this will only boot into TWRP just for that session.
But if you wish to install permanently, use 'fasboot flash recovery recovery.img'

Note; Make sure 'allow modifications to system' is left unchecked upon booting into TWRP.
And get the lazy flasher.zip file which is to be flashed after the whole business in TWRP before rebooting phone.

My HSPA/DPA is stable.
I'm concerned about 4G. Do I need a separate 4G sim for Airtel and MTN, even in areas where there's 4G coverage?
Last I checked Airtel never get 4G for Nigeria, as for MTN you will need a new sim that is 4G enabled except if your present sim is already 4G enabled then you won't need a new one, the only thing required will be 4G coverage in your location.

WCDMA only?

How person go get 4G and EDGE/GSM like that na?
Na 4G sim you dey use? If yes, I don't think you have a choice, just leave it there coz if you try 'LTE only' you will be unable to receive calls

If not, lock the thing to 'WCDMA only' if you want stable 3G/HSDPA.

help out please, not loading boot image... that's the as up there
Rename the recovery file i.e TWRP, Redwolf etc. you downloaded to 'recovery.img' and copy and paste to that adb folder.
Then, retry the command and report back.

Set it to this
This settings will end up making phone's network switch unnecessarily. Use this settings only if you use 4G. Just lock down to 'WCDMA only'
