What is the shortcut for screenshot in Xiaomi Remdmi 5+
Go to Settings, Navigate to 'Additional settings' - 'Buttons and Gestures' - 'Take screenshot'
Choose your choice. I personally use the Three finger swipe dow and the Power+Volume down button works by default.

Quick one.

I haven't seen H+ on my Mi 5+ before. It was a normal with my formal old phone.

But this is always showing 3G. Any help?

Plus the default notifying method of collapsing all notifications in the notification bar. Kinda unprofessional and disturbing. Shown below.

MIUI version is 9.2.1..(NEGCNEK)
Have you locked your phone's network to 'WCDMA only'?

U get point jare, yes d attack too much actually for one person, but u wen go person house go fight e full family, u nr go run wen u get d chance to escape? grin. One reason many ppl dey attack am actually b say e never actually hold d devices in question. Ok, imagine me dey tell u say I kw about ur phone pass u, and for instance ur SOT nr fit pass 5 hrs grin. Wetin u read for Internet sometimes dey different from real life, many things dey exaggerated. For instance, around dis time last year, somebody dey follow me argue about the time Redmi note 4 dey take charge full, according to reviews then on YouTube, e dey take about 4 hours to full, but my own dey take about 2.5 hours, but u need see as d guy dey accuse me of lying on top wetin I dey use shocked. Ask Elxandre, I think those argument or so make d guy fear wen e 1 buy im phone then grin.

Hope you will agree with me that people here have had different experiences with different roms on same phone? Have you imagined when Gsmarena does a review with a buggy rom and come up with a poor SOT for instance? I hope you get the drift? You don't come to conclusion by just relying on online sources. Get a real life feel and you are better off. For the camera I still hold my stand, maybe my unit is different cheesy.

At the end of the day everybody have the right to their opinions whether you like or not, whether it is true or false, the reasonable thing to do is to correct when the person is erring.
I could accept a particular person here makes some vague points that he is not very sure of. But the way he gets attacked; which is getting way frequent is saddening.
E don enter stage way be say person no go fit say werin e no like for phone wey e use im own money buy just because some supposed professional don say otherwise.
We need more people to drop different kind of criticism coz I for one will always be suspicious of something that is painted too perfect.
I have personally raised the issue of the camera on Redmi note 4 not being my cup of tea, it just wasn't getting it right, maybe it is my unit maybe not but right now, after getting the Gcam Mod working on it, I can tell you without any iota of doubt that the quality of pictures produced are miles better than what the normal miui camera app produces. A lot of people have made 'wow!!' comments on my recent pics.
Conclusively, let's start being objective in here, we be family for here.

Note: the above epistles are my opinions tongue

No bro. I didn't tick allow TWRP make modifications. After the reboot, i waited for some minutes and when it wasn't coming up I pressed the power button down only for the mi logo to briefly come up and disappear . That has been the story since morning.

The TWRP I installed was the latest too
If you have a recovery rom saved on your phone, boot into TWRP and flash it. If you sha still wan root grin read other tutorials online and see if they would work.

And if na fastboot rom kindly follow this guide https://www.xiaomigeek.com/flash-miui-fastboot-rom-using-command.html

I did bro. In fact, I did it again and again. The phone is just stuck at mi logo. Do you think I should do a clean flash of the ROM?
I guess that would be the next thing to do. But wait! Hope you didn't tick to allow TWRP make modifications to your system upon booting to TWRP?
And one other thing, is the TWRP you booted/installed the latest and confirmed official for Mido?

When I did mine, the first boot took forever, all I did was to press down the power button and it booted up fine afterwards.

My phone has been going off since yesterday, it has happened 3 times now, what could likely be the issue??

I usually switch to airplane mode whenever I watch movies, after the movie, when I switch back, if I open any app, it force closes, and then my phone reboots.. Then everything works fine again.. This started yesterday and it has happened three times...

Pls, how do I fix this??

Find a way to backup your important data and do a factory reset.
The advisable thing would have been not to restore anything from the backed up data in order to avoid carrying over the cause of the problem. If it is mandatory to restore some, make sure you're selective and be mindful of the most recent apps installed

Hello sir. I have successfully flashed the TWRP. However, I'm unable to boot into recovery mode no matter what I do. I have even tried pressing together the power button and the volume up key. It just boot into pc suite something sha but never recovery mode. What do you suggest I do? Also note that I followed the procedure you highlighted here thoroughly...
My procedure is actually to just boot into TWRP recovery in order to be able to flash the Magisk root zip, that is why the command is "fastboot boot recovery.img" and not "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" as far as your usb cord is connected the whole process to be carried out in TWRP will go through and your stock recovery will be kept intact

In your case you've installed; press the power button and volume up button simultaneously to get into recovery and do your business.
Be advised thay OTA won't install when you try it with TWRP recovery flashed.

Modify: I guess you didn't follow my instructions to the end. Once you input the "fastboot boot recovery.img" command, ensure the phone boots up into TWRP by itself don't remove the usb cable. From here, you can follow the process to flash the magisk.zip folder

Always make sure you have

1. A Global Stable/Global Developer FastBoot ROM

2. A Global Stable/Global Developer Full Recovery ROM

All downloaded and kept safe somewhere else apart from your phone storage or SD card... You can save them in your PC.

Reason is to always find it very easy to revert back to normalcy once anything goes wrong.

REDWOLF 3.0 23 is the most stable with full support for OTA. I don't think I'm even going to update to any new version.
Thanks for this. Na data be issue now, na Airtel night sub go do am last last.

Bros, is there a way to unlock bootloader without PC?
Mbanu! You can't. A PC is very important.

kstan:
With TWRP you'll have to download the full Recovery ROM to update your device.

But to update through OTA, you will have to flash REDWOLF RECOVERY on your device. REDWOLF is more advanced with better options than TWRP.
Be sure to download REDWOLF 3.0.23... that's the most stable version for now.
Yeah read on the official thread on Xda and telegram group that Redwolf 3.0.24 is not updating OTA.
More reason why I held back from flashing custom recovery.
I have root with stock recovery for now.

Google Camera mod Tutorial

The first step is ensuring you are either on Android Oreo which has the camera2api enabled by default.
Otherwise it has to be done manually which requires the device to be rooted.
In the case of a Xiaomi device, it has to pass through the unlocking bootloader to rooting process. Check my previous post for the tutorial on unlocking and rooting.

Requirements
1. Rooted device
2.Android verison 7+ preferably. (kindly double check this on the web)
3. Download Camera2api enabler flashable zip. (Flashable with custom recovery).
4. Download Camera2api enabler Magisk module in zip format. (There is a magisk repository on Xda forum full of magisk modules).
5. Download Manual Camera compatability app on playstore.
6. Es file explorer or any explorer with root capability.

*Since a rooted device is mandatory for GCam module, to root your device you must have installed a superuser which opens up the root part of your android system AKA root. Magisk is currently the most advance form of superuser apps which enables root systemlessly.(Kindly read up on the web).
With Magisk root can be acquired without being visible to the entire system.

Magisk method
Open the magisk manager app and navigate to 'menu' by swiping from left to right, click on 'modules' and click the 'yellow + label' below to add a module, this will take you into your storage. Navigate to the previously downloaded Camera2api enabler magisk module in zip format and add.
Reboot your phone to enable changes.

Custom Recovery method
Those with a custom recovery on their device e.g TWRP, Redwolf, Philz etc should flash the camera2api enabler flashable zip through recovery.

Root explorer method
For this example we are utilizing Es file explorer.
Open Es file explorer, navigate to the menu and activate root option.
Tap on 'options', select 'Device', select 'System' , select 'Build Prop', Tap Edit,
And type the command below:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1

Click Save.
Reboot your phone.

After using any of the above method to enable Camera2api, Now open the Manual Camera Compatability app and do the test. If the result turns out all green, you are good to go to utilise most versions of the GCam mods available.

Google Camera mod settings

I personally utilize MGC Google camera mod on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon Global. Search and read online about other mods available.

Settings;
BSG Mod settings

Model: Nexus 6p

Config camera HDR: Pixel 2017 zsl HDR+

HDR+ parameters: the higher the better the HDR after effect and the higher the time it takes to process HDR after effect. Just select 'High'

Manual fixed black level offset:
Fix black level front camera: 64.00
Leave the remaining at default here.

Lens blur: default

Final JPG quality: 100%

Compress RAW (*DNG): activate

Potrait Mode on all models: activate

Increase the detail of HDR+ in front camera: activate

Restart app to enable new settings.

I posted some times back that I will write a concise tutorial on my journey through unlocking bootloader, rooting without tampering with stock recovery.
Well! Below is what I could come up with;

Follow @Kstan's tutorial on unlocking bootloader
I personally didn't utilise VPN and I got unlock permission very early the next day, actually way less than 24 hrs.
Also, chrome, puffin or any other SIMILAR browsers can be made use of on phone to do the applying (please abeg no opera mini oo)

Additionally, due to network issues, getting your account bonded might not happen once. Repeated messages of 'error' will be returned just keep repeating till you get a positive confirmation.

Search for Kstan through Nairaland search to check for his post on unlocking bootloader.

Process to root without tampering with the stock recovery of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4(x) snapdragon version. This is essential in order to be able to do OTA.

Requirements;
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Latest Adb and fastboot setup (in exe format)
3. Latest TWRP custom recovery for mido (in img format)
4. Latest Magisk manager app (apk format)
5. Latest Magisk zip.
6. Lazyflasher-no-verity for mido (zip format)
7. Latest stock recovery for mido.(incase you mistakenly install a custom recovery)

Note; 'mido' is the nickname for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4(x) snapdragon version.
Ensure you find the LATEST versions of the above required files on the web (check the ever reliable XDA forum) except otherwise stated by the developer(s) of such resources.

If you're sure you've unlocked your device *check by going to 'settings' - 'additional settings'- 'developer options' and check 'unlock status' if your device is unlocked, you should see 'this device is unlocked' or something similar.

Before starting any tweaking on your device kindly find a way to do a NANDROID BACKUP aka full backup. Mi PC suite might be required for this or search the web for necessary steps.

*Copy all the above files to your PC to have a spare copy and your full backup and ensure you know the folder they are saved on your phone*

By now you should ensure 'usb debugging' under 'developer options' on your xiaomi device is activated.

Install the adb and fastboot setup on your PC.(kindly do a good web search on installing adb and fastboot on your computer relating to Xiaomi devices)

Next is to test the adb, navigate to the folder of the adb setup on your pc, it is usually located in the 'local disk' folder under 'computer'
Connect your device, on your computer still in the 'adb and fastboot folder' press the 'shift key' and the 'right mouse button' do the pressing Simultaneously, navigate to 'open command prompt' and click. (the command prompt window will now open)

Type the command 'adb devices' the returned prompt should be 'devices connected' with some set of numbers which is peculiar to that particular device. If the returned prompt is not like the above then you will have to go back a few steps of this tutorial and troubleshoot.

Rename the TWRP in img format to 'recovery.img' and copy into the 'adb and fasboot folder' on your computer.

Now, switch off your phone and boot into fastboot mode by simultaneously pressing the power button and volume down button, wait for some few seconds till you see a Mi avatar and the word 'fastboot', now connect your phone to your computer.

Like previous, go into command prompt while in the 'adb and fastboot folder', this time around we will test for the fastboot status of the phone by inputting command 'fastboot devices' just like before the returned prompt should be 'connected devices' with some specific numbers.

Now, input command;
'fastboot boot recovery.img'
Your phone should boot into TWRP recovery. (Very important: Ensure you DON'T swipe to enable modification).
Click to flash to install zip and navigate to where Magizk.zip and swipe to flash.
Repeat the flash step but this time around locate Lazyflasher-no-verity.zip and swipe to flash. (this step is very necessary to avoid bootlooping)
Find the reboot button and click.

*Booting might take a little while than usual just be patient. Incase of bootlooping repeat the connecting to fastboot mode and boot into TWRP and flash Lazyflasher-no-verity.zip.

Most part of this tutorial was gotten from Xda forum and contributions of other members here.
