frosbel:The author seems to be saying let us not give recognition to boko haram, after all lending them recognition will only cause them to be emboldened. Surely you can comprehend simple english. u need to read the article in entirety and not out of context. |
Yesterday was the blackest Christmas Nigeria has ever witnessed. Apart from the regular pangs Nigerians face, such as no electricity, influx of police checkpoints, heightened robbery attacks, and government insensitivity, there is now a new nemesis-terror. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the coordinated bomb attacks that were executed on churches and other targets yesterday. The Federal Government of Nigeria released disturbing statements, as the President has asked us to accept the bombings as a burden we must live with until they fizzle out. He stated, “The issue of bombing is one of the burdens we must live with. It will not last forever; I believe that it will surely be over”. Many Nigerians have interpreted this to be a callous response from an out of touch head of state who rolls around in bomb and bullet-proof Mercedes S-class cars with his entourage of security chiefs that are now using these very attacks to justify an over-padded budget for security. A budget that will undoubtedly leave foreign defense weapons manufacturers and providers smiling from our treasury and to their banks. Specifically weapons manufacturers in USA and Israel. What is even more worrisome and should trouble Nigerians more is Israel and America’s response to the Boko Haram attacks. The psychological need for recognition by a terrorist group cannot be underscored, the reason they blow up stuff is to get the attention of governments. They are saying “here we are; we are pissed off; we don’t like western education; or oppression of Muslims in the middle-east by USA and Israel.” Now whilst we know Al-Qaeda is not spelled Boko Haram, we do have intelligence that suggests Boko Haram and Al-Qaeda are bed fellows of sorts. Therefore any attention they get from Israel and USA will undoubtedly have them satisfied , fulfilled and re-energized. This is why, it would be nice for the USA and Israel to keep mum when the bombs go off. We do not need them to tell us sorry, after all it is their activities in the Middle East that created and sustains radical groups like Al-Qaeda. The US message to Nigeria condemned the attacks as “senseless violence”. Stating the obvious. It then went on to say, “We have been in contact with Nigerian officials about what initially appear to be terrorist acts and pledge to assist them in bringing those responsible to justice.” I can see how Boko Haram will be pleased by this. They have proven time and time again that they are not afraid of the authorities and that they will continue to operate with impunity. More disturbing is the fact that the USA preempted all this with its prediction that Nigeria will break apart by 2015, a report authored by the CIA. Conspiracy theorists in Nigeria and abroad are beginning to think that this Boko Haram menace is part of a larger plot by undisclosed persons in order to bring that report to manifestation. Our security services agencies in Nigeria would do well to tell the USA that it would be in our “collective” best interests if they do not issue any public statements after bombings. After all that is part of what Boko Haram wants, ie the spotlight. Nigeria is split roughly in the middle of its population, and foreign media elements have already began referring to a Muslim North and a Christian South. Somebody (ies), somewhere is/are antagonizing for a break up in Nigeria. Some Nigerians align with that rationale; however dividing Nigeria will not be as bloodless and as painless as cutting a cake into two. With 140 million people of various tribes, religions and creed scattered across 36 states and geopolitical zones, our situation could potentially dwarf that of Sudan. It could make the blood bath genocide of Bosnia and Sarajevo seem like kids at play. However one can bet top Naira, that USA would be here to secure our oil fields with a base in the Niger Delta, which they have always lobbied for. Then they would help us to “re-build” our country, and ofcourse they will take payment for it. I am sure the Uranium and Crude Oil in our soil and offshore would be a great way for us to reimburse them for their good Samaritan activities. After the bombings, Israel also sent their well wishes. A statement from Jerusalem read, “”The government of Israel conveys its condolences to the government of Nigeria, the Nigerian people and the families of the victims, and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.” I am sure Boko Haram is paying attention. We may not know who is behind Boko Haram, however let us stop agitating them further. Innocent Nigerian lives are counting on it. http://businessnews.com.ng/2011/12/26/boko-haram-well-wishers/

What a blessing! I have been here for a few days and its been a great event. The anointing on the man of God, Bishop Oyedepo flowed like a river to all present. The ministration from Pastor Adeboye earlier tonight was one of a kind. I must confess, am shocked people think these men of God are in it to make a profit. You need to see lives being saved, and positive messages of God being handed like jewels to an innocent child. May God allow the fog be lifted from your eyes. These are great men of God sent to rescue our generation. |
The following is an excerpt from an exclusive interview with Chief Awolowo CHANGE OF CURRENCY And it is on record that Ojukwu admitted that two things defeated him in this war, that’s as at the day he left Biafra. He said one, the change of currency, he said that was the first thing that defeated him, and we did that to prevent Ojukwu taking the money which his soldiers has stolen from our Central bank for sale abroad to buy arms. We discovered he looted our Central bank in Benin, he looted the one in Port Harcourt, looted the one in Calabar and he was taking the currency notes abroad to sell to earn foreign exchange to buy arms. So I decided to change the currency, and for your benefit, it can now be told the whole world, only Gowon knew the day before, the day before the change took place. I decided, only three of us knew before then- Isong now governor of Cross River, Attah and myself. It was a closely guarded secret, if any commissioner at the time say that he knew about it, he’s only boosting his own ego. Because once you tell someone, he’ll tell another person. So we refused to tell them and we changed the currency notes. So Ojukwu said the change in currency defeated him, and starvation of his soldiers also defeated him. These were the two things that defeated Ojukwu. And, he reminds me, when you saw Ojukwu’s picture after the war, did he look like someone who’s not well fed? But he has been taking the food which we send to civilians, and so we stopped the food. You can read the whole part on the Biafran war somewhere down the page in this link http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/newsflash/exclusive-chief-obafemi-awolowo-on-biafra-in-his-own-words.html |

Its because of the extreme poverty situation in the country that most babes are praying for mugu to arrive and offer them a CBN styled bailout package. Once they are in this frame of mind, they think any man is a mugu, even the one who is genuinely caring. There is an attitude now that once you take care of a girl, you are a mugu. your friends will call u mugu etc this is because some guys really are muguriffic I know a guy who was wooing a girl and bought her two bb's and brazilian hair, and half a new wardrobe. So pls y wont they be looking for mugu |

D’banj Boosts Church Attendance::: Popular musician, D’banj caused a stir recently when he disclosed in an interview that his mother has advised him to pick a wife from the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel. An NGO, Churchwatch, which monitors church attendance nationwide, reported that following that interview, female attendance in Winners Chapel branches increased by over 300%. The report also revealed that the number one trending prayer point among single ladies in the 20-54 years demography has been ‘to become D’banj’s kokolette by fire by force.’ |
Ah. God bless the OP, I am tired of these tribalistic civil war babies fed ideas that bred hate, and who continue to germinate hateful ideas in their head. even most African Americans have gotten over the injustice of slavery, sure they had more time to heal but the Nigerian people did not even go through anything even remoteful as gruesome as that. and yet you find them complaining and crying here and there, and abusing other tribes and believing in their own tribes supremacy and all that nonsense. Lets spread the gospel of love and unity instead of hate and division. Thanks again op |

We’ve taken a few key passages from Ambramovich’s witness statement that show his rise to power. Humble Beginnings “I am a Russian citizen, residing in Russia. I was born in Saratov in the former USSR, as it then was. I lost both parents at at a young age and was brought up by relatives, initially in the Komi Republic and then later in Moscow. I consider Moscow as my motherland.” An Education Halted By Military Service “After graduating from high school, I was admitted to the Industrial Institute of Ukhta in the city of Ukhta. During my studies there, I was drafted into the army and returned to school upon discharge; however, I never graduated and went into business in 1987.” The Beginnings Of An Empire “My business career began in 1987, when I was employed as a mechanic in the construction office No. 122 of Mosspetmonstazh. It was at the time that the Soviet government under Mr. Mikhail Gorbachev announced the start of “perestroika”, allowing for the establishment of small businesses known as “Co-operatives”.” “I was one of the country’s early entrepreneurs, serving from 1989 through 1991 as chairman of the cooperative “Uyat [Comford]“, which specialized in the manufacture of plastic toys for children.” http://businessnews.com.ng/2011/11/03/roman-abramovichs-london-case-with-berezovskyh/ |
Roman Abrahamovich owner of Chelsea FC, and multi billionaire in dollars, euro and sterling was a college dropout. He started work as a mechanic. Chei see humble beginnings o. Inspired by my love of football, after acquiring Chelsea Football Club in 2003, I established in 2004 the National Academy of Football (“NAF”), a foundation that seeked to help promote football among children. He Explains His Discomfort With The Court Case “The claims in these proceedings have virtually no connection with England. I instructed my lawyers not to challenge the jurisdiction of the English courts in this case because Mr Berezovsky had been granted refugee status in the UK, having been convicted of defrauding money from he Russian company Aeroflot. “My understanding was that it would not have been practically possible in those circumstances for him to bring the proceedings in Russia or attend to give witness evidence at any trial that took place there.” On His Relationship With Berezovsky “Mr. Berezovsky has said that there was a time when I was his trusted and close business colleague. With the benefit of hindsight, I hesitate to call him a former close “friend” although I felt a strong emotional bond to him and I had previously always respected him.” “For the reasons I explain below, our relationship may not qualify as friendship or regular business association. He did not regard me as an equal. Our relationship was a peculiarly Russian relationship typical for a Russia’s post-communist history. The Russian word to describe the nature of his relationship with me is “krysha [roof]“ A person providing krysha to another man was a person who acted as his protector. Kryshna could take the form of political or physical protection.” On Doing Business In Russia In The 1990s “It was not possible to achieve [my business interests] in Russia at that time without the help of a person who had the appropriate political connections. “Additionally, it was also necessary at that time to have “physical” protection as anyone having access to businesses capable of generating strong cash-flows was vulnerable to criminal interference, including potential violence.” you can read the rest of it here, i don tire to copy and paste http://businessnews.com.ng/2011/11/03/roman-abramovichs-london-case-with-berezovskyh/ |
