HBB1:
Did you read 'nebulised' adrenaline?

Did you read that there was no marked difference between nebulised adrenaline and Salbutamol?

If you need adrenaline shots for your asthma, then you need intensive care.

You think Adrenaline is child's play?

Issorait cheesy
It's not about the superlative, "nebulised" - I know. It's about if it can be used to manage severe crisis. It's the same reason I told you it should be 'prescribed' and strictly taken during the crisis.
But seriously, I meant no offence to you in the exchange of words. It's raining now (asthmatic season) and I have no fears for the attack because I took the last shot over three months ago and my breathing is normalised. Likewise others that have used it to normalize theirs.
Asthma is not a sickness - it's a condition. The phlegm is the problem - it's very sticky and block your windpipe but if you can cough it out (often with the aid of the injections), you'll live a 'normal life'.
Take care, sir.

The prescriber should be shot!

You know nothing about what you are saying, nothing at all.

...but it's all good.

Enjoy!
Seriously, shot? Thank you but that prescription has kept me alive today. If you are a health worker, ill suggest you update your knowledge on the use of adrenaline. Mind you - as little as the liquid content is, you take three shots within 10 minutes and it is advisable to be used in time of crisis (like I said in my first response before you took me around this grammatical exercise).
Bros, I no wetin I dey talk. Go and Google it. Thank you.

NB: You can read here (it's a reputable global medical website) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/3691679/

You don't knowwho I am or what I do for a living...

If you need an adrenaline shot for your asthma, you should be in Intensive care.
You are misusing it and you don't want to understand.

You also realise aminophylline isn't first line treatment, though it is abused in Nigeria?

The day someone's heart will stop with all this rubbish people do...

Anyway, it's your life, but please don't recommend what you know nothing about to people.
Like you said, "it's your life" - thank you. This is the more reason people need to understand the meaning of "abuse". It's a prescription given to me (like others) by a health professional in 'Ayinke House'. I've been on it for over five years and it has improved my 'asthmatic management'.
That a drug has an adverse effect has to do with the abuse of the intake - Tramadol is a very good drug (medicinally) but because of the abuse, people say all sorts of things about it.
You are not asthmatic (I don't pray you become one as I pray for healing for those of us who are) - the pain and the difficulties to breathe come from the heart. The adrenaline (shot after a shot) gives your heart the strength for you to cough out the phlegm that are blocking the passage of air.
See, inhaler are never effective then - you puff in but the phlegm bounces it out. Hence, the need for aminophline (intravenous) to help you cough them out. Or better still, the adrenaline for a faster reaction.
Like I said, you no know the pain pass people wey wear the shoes.

HBB1:
You understand there is a protocol to treat Asthma?

When you inject yourself (anyhow) with a medicine that can stop your heart, you are only playing with fire.

You have an asthma attack and the next thing is an Adrenaline shot?!
grin

Next time just inject yourself in the heart directly, so it will work faster.
You don't seem to understand me - I'm not arguing or here to subtly insult you. I speak intelligently to you as a sufferer, which you are not, let alone a health professional.
My reference is on the 'crisis stage' - adrenaline's reaction to stop a raging attack is quicker than aminophline. Get this right - they don't inject it at once; it's a shot after a shot.
I speak about what I know as a sufferer and other sufferers' experiences as well. You'll do more to Google about the treatment of asthma with adrenaline than for you to droll over what you don't know or have a firsthand experience about. Thank you.

HBB1:
Adrenaline like paracetamol, you will just kill yourself!
Sir/ma, are you asthmatic? If Yes, is it severe? I'm talking about 'adrenaline injection' - ask any health professional you know, it's very reliable when an asthmatic sufferer (not patient) is in crisis.
I only take in 'severe' time.
About the dosage - it's once (I don't know how I will 'just kill' myself with it.
Why I suggested three is for him to have it in store - that injection is very scarce. I'm not asking him to take the three at once - Haba!
HealthRe: Living With An Asthmatic Spouse by scriptaz18(m): 8:44pm On Oct 11, 2019
I'll advise you learn how to inject him because of emergency attack - I'm asthmatic (severe) but my saving grace is that I compelled my spouse to learn how to inject me. She's not a nurse but she's good at injecting - only me.
Now, another shocker is that most health professionals don't know how to diagnose or diffuse asthma or its attack - they have their conventional way of using amynophline injection, which most often takes time to subdue an attack.
Always have 3 dose of adrenaline injections handy: it's the best and sure antidote for attacks.
Extra - ask him to take his franol tablets, even when he's not having an attack. God will heal him.

It has to be as a result of ENVY from the part of Linda Ikeji and her outfit to 'expose' this guy rather than 'celebrate' him.
As a media personality myself, I know his job is on the line - media organizations don't take lightly to employees working for OR having their 'own' media 'stuffs'. That's why media houses cherish 'exclusive reportage' - now, this guy will look as a competitor to Punch Newspaper.
Above all, I fear for his life and family's - just too bad and envious from Linda.

This does not add up. If not, what part does the DSS had to play in the earlier siege of Saraki's and Ekweremadu's homes COUPLED with the simultaneous involvement of the EFCC 's in serving Ekweremadu an invite AND the POLICE demanding Saraki reported to their office that same morning.
My argument is this: If Daura is working for Saraki, then Magu and the IGP are working for him too.

Nairaland GeneralOn The Proposed Cattle Colonies By The Federal Government - Matters Arising! by scriptaz18(op): 10:03pm On Jan 17, 2018
The FG claimed that its planned establishment of cattle colonies will be done in partnership with State Governments that will like to volunteer land for it - the FG said it will fund the project!

Fund or not, let them graze in their lands!

There is no space for polemics and ethnocentrism in my dictionary - see, Borno State (57,799 km²) alone is almost twice the size of the South-Eastern States combined (29, 385km²).

Why can't the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders and their foot soldiers (Fulani Herdsmen) just stay on their lands, make their ranches and raise their 'whatever' therein?

These guys are just looking for trouble and want to show other parts of Nigeria who own the country. Of course, they are the ones naa. Talk about oil blocs - they (Hausa-Fulani) own/control over 70% of that. It's lamentable that even the Former President Goodluck Jonathan has no oil bloc (in his own father's land o).

I commend my State Governor for first speaking out to the Federal Government that Abia State has no land for their so-called 'cattle colonies' .

I expect other States Governors in the South to follow suit, because the North has much more grazeable landmass than the South -remember Sambisa Forest (sic).

Why can't they just be content with what they have and stop encroaching on other people's lands while destroying their farmlands and even slaughtering them like animals?

Thank you.

Christianity EtcRe: Has Daddy Freeze's #FreeTheSheeple Movement Stopped Anyone From Paying Tithe? by scriptaz18(m): 1:18pm On Dec 10, 2017
It wasn't meant to stop or discourage people from paying tithes - instead to have a better understanding that tithing is not a 'do or die' affair like most Pastors are painting it to be.
Funny enough, I was once in a service wherein a Pastor said, "if you don't pay your tithe, you will go to the hottest part of hell".
With Freeze's dogmatic, Christians now understand what tithing is all about - after all, Pastor Adebayo and Pastor Olukoya disagreed on the credibility of tithing.
Nairaland GeneralDear Nigerians, Let's BLAME Ourselves For The Mess In LIBYA! by scriptaz18(op): 2:02pm On Dec 05, 2017
Dear NIGERIANS,

Before we skin the Libyans alive, let us call to mind that we are the cause of their unrest, dehumanization and beastiality!

Once upon a time, Libya was ruled by a dictator but beyond that seemingly ‘autocratic regime,’ Libya’s economy was twenty times robust than Nigeria’s and South Africa’s.

Despite the easy assess they had to migrate to Europe, the Libyans never had the cause to leave their border for greener pasture – they lived comfortably in their ‘confines’ while other African nationalities trooped in en masse to find a means of living from the crumbs of the Libyans.

Obviously to have control of the oil in Libya - then came the ‘western powers’ and their African allies, particularly Nigeria, to liberate the Libyans. Take note that the Libyans never approached them for any liberation sake.

So, Nigeria, South Africa and Gabon voted for a United Nations Security Council resolution, which was used by Western countries to carry out a sustained bombardment of Libya and dethrone the Late Gaddafi.

In the AU, it was only Zimbabwe that didn’t vote in support of the ‘western invasion’ of Libya.

Cometh the invasion and since then, see what Libya has become – a war-torn country with anarchy here and there. Libya suddenly became a no man's land!

Do you now know why your Government, other African countries and the western countries are quiet on this modern slave trade in Libya?

My mom always say this to me when I was a kid “The pikin wey say him mama no go sleep kule, him too no go sleep kule.”

I have no space for polemics in my dictionary and as such, hit the truth hard – so, if you were the Libyans, will you warmly welcome other nationals into your country after they had contributed to the destruction of your country?

Before we scream blue murder on the Libyans, let us first take the blame for what they have become and then, hold our government by the jugular to improve our economy so that we would be like the once upon a time Libya, where our country is our promised land.

Thank you.

Bishop Oyedepo reveals what will happen to those who don’t pay tithe NEWS
Published on November 24, 2017
By Seun Opejobi 
RELATED TOPICS: Bishop David Oyedepo, founder, Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, Thursday explained why it is important for Christians to pay tithe.
Oyedepo said tithing opens the windows of heaven and ensures divine blessings for Christians, stressing that those who don’t tithe are permanently beggars.
He said this while addressing members of Dunamis International Gospel Center in Abuja and monitored by DAILY POST.
According to Oyedepo, “If you don’t pay tithe you are permanently a beggar.
“I’m permanently under an open heaven. Every seed you give to God returns but only tithe secures your destiny. Its tithing that secures your blessing.
“Through the mystery of tithing you don’t run out of divine ideas. Tithing opens the windows of heaven and pours you quick understandings.”

This is the way I see tithing.are you using your tithe as a means of worshipping God or you're bribing God to bless you.

If he didn't attach blessing to the reward of tithing,WOULD YOU STILL TITHE?
Are you tithing because you want God to bless you or its another way of worshipping God with your finances

If you had no problem in your life and finances,if Nigeria was an utopian country, will you still worship God? Would you still tithe if you were not sick or needed anything from.God?

The bttomline at the end of the day is MOTIVES for tithing
God bless you, sir. You are on line - motive really matters in the act of giving (tithing and other forms of giving).

Christianity EtcStill On Tithing – I Disagree With Daddy Oyedepo! by scriptaz18(op): 7:25am On Nov 26, 2017
Daddy Oyedepo recently opined, and I quote in part, “...It’s tithing that secures your blessing.”

No, sir! It is the heart to give that secures our blessings. God doesn’t look at the size of your gift BUT your reaction while giving it!

The story of the Pharisees and the poor widow (and her mite) comes to mind. While they were doing a ‘roadshow’ with their giving, the widow’s intent to part with her ‘last card’ was sincere just like the widow of Zeraphath and Elijah.

Like the Pharisees, you can give all your earnings as a tithe BUT if the content of your heart says otherwise, I wonder how that can “secure your blessings”.

That you tithe isn’t a determinant that God must bless you. Tithing is one of the crosses we must carry as believers. It is our own sacrifice for the Gospel!

I’m of the strong opinion that Tithing is the responsibility of every believer – there should be no incentive attached to it to make it seemingly appealing to the Church.

Whether there’s a benefit derivable from it or not, it is our duty to pay TITHE. We pay tithe more for the physical needs of the church than our ‘own’ blessings!

It's high time Pastors taught the church the difference between offering and tithes and other forms of giving – see, God expanded the kingdom of Solomon because of his ‘massive offering,’ not tithe!

There are many people in the Bible whom God touched their lives because of their offerings, and not tithing.

Hence, I still hinge the fact that tithing is our duty, not our investment to God or the church.

Methinks God doesn’t look at our offering, seed sowing or tithing BUT the willingness of our heart to part with them before He blesses us.

Thank you.

So shocking that 'I go die,' like many other 'undesirable elements', have practically come out to defend AY, Tatafoo and lately, Bovi, on the use of "satire" to comically pass message to (enlighten) the members of the public about social abnormalities.

Satire or Satirical prose, indeed!

See, common sense (you don't need to be a scholar to know this) teaches us that there are some ‘things’ called 'sensitive or volatile issues' – issues that have to do with one's mental state, life or faith/belief!

I believe 'rape' ranks among these, except you do not know the devastating effect and trauma a Rape victim undergoes, especially when she recalls the attack, or when AY, Tatafoo or Bovi (and their type) force her to recall it with their seeming, harmless jokes!

If AY, Tatafoo, Bovi, I go die and their ‘like’ believe they can ‘joke with anything,’ they should go to the North and make jokes about the Prophet 'Mohammed (no pun intended)'.

But before then, amongst many, they should recall November 23, 2012 when riots broke out (that cost thousand lives) in Kano over a tailor's joke about Prophet Mohammed?

It is disturbing that it is only in Nigeria wherein ‘people can joke about rape’ and then, some people come out to justify them with baseless ‘academic exercise’!

While I don't wish any of our comedians to lose their deals, it is worth-knowing that corporate organization in the developed world, take high exception to ‘pro-rape issue (jokes or not)’. For instance, in 2013, Rick Ross' Reebok deal was cancelled over 'date rape' verse – since then, he hasn’t gotten himself back because other organizations are keeping him at arm’s length over that seeming, innocent lyrics!

Like they say, “A word is enough for the wise!”

Christianity EtcThe Heart That Gives! (worth-reading)! by scriptaz18(op): 12:25pm On Apr 16, 2017
“GBENGA, a 27-year-old man and 400-Level part-time Law student, worked as a ‘Security Guard’ with one of the General Hospitals in Lagos State.
He was in his duty-post when he overheard a phone conversation amid the caller crying profusely as she lamented her plight:

“The Doctors said I should hasten up because Lekan has only one month to live. The ‘liver disease’ is almost snuffing his life... I don’t know what to do (sob). For two months now, I have been running up and down to raise the two Million Naira needed to replace his liver but we have just been able to raise a sparsely eight hundred thousand Naira! In this hard time, how do we raise the balance of over one Million Naira (sob)? Where do I ....?”

Gbenga peeped from the security-post’s window to see her slump to her knees and burst into tears while some passers-by ignored her and went their respective ways. Likewise, he just stayed glued in his spot, a few feet from her, not knowing what to do or how to take his eyes off of her. So, he watched as her nose ran with snot amid the tears that were soaking her blouse.

He did not offer to help her not because he was heartless but it was the sixth year he had been working in the hospital and so, was used to such emotional sight. He had seen lots of people wailing and rolling on the floor at the news of their loved ones’ death; he had seen victims of various degrees of injury or horrible accidents, some with broken bones or half-hanging limbs; he had seen many corpses (babies and adults) taken into or from the hospital.

At such sights, he never allowed his emotions to betray him!

As a Christian, he was often moved to help – at least, to comfort them – but how many would he help in the course of drawing the wrath of his employers should he be caught leaving his duty-post to comfort every grief-stricken person?

But as he watched her, he was strangely moved to ‘go and console her’; soon, he approached her, gently lifted her from the ground and led her back into the post where he gave her a seat and a glass of water before consoling her.

It was then he got to know a little about her and her plight:

ANUOLUWAPO was engaged to LEKAN and their marriage had been fixed within four months before Lekan was suddenly struck with a strange sickness. Some Pastors were approached to pray for him but as the ailment persisted, he was rushed to the General Hospital where it was diagnosed he had ‘Hepatocellular Carcinoma’ – a chronic liver disease!
The disease had eaten so deep into his liver that if not replaced within three months, would cost his life.
The replacement and treatment were estimated at two million Naira but so far, they had been able to raise eight hundred thousand Naira in two months!
It was in one of her visits to Lekan, who, for two months, had been on dialysis machine for detoxification treatment while awaiting the transplant, that the doctor bluntly reminded her that Lekan had ‘less than a month’ to live.

Gbenga’s heart was broken because he wished to help her but couldn’t. He was neither financially stable nor knew who to approach to come to her rescue. Tears trickled down his cheek as he recalled his own problems, which had been giving him sleepless night for quite some time now – he owed his landlord 8-month rent while his school fees hadn’t been paid for that session.

He did what he could do as a Christian – he softly held her hand and asked her to close her eyes while he prayed for her. Moments later, she left the post a bit happy but then, he had taken his decision as she sauntered to the main gate: MONEY WOULD NOT STAND IN HIS WAY TO HELP ANUOLUWAPO!

All through the night, he mulled over his decision whether or not it was worth the ‘sacrifice’ but the next day, he waited for Anu and as she passed by after greeting and thanking him for the previous day, he called her back and told her he wanted to see Lekan.

They walked into the hospital where Gbenga emotionally announced to the ‘authority’ that he was willing to GIVE (donate) his liver to Lekan – for FREE!
She was in shock though happy – this was a stranger about to give out his liver; a sacrifice that none of her and Lekan’s relatives were willing to make!

Of course, Gbenga was convinced he was doing the right thing… although he did not know Lekan or Anu, he tried to help with what he had, and it was worth more than money!

Success in life does not come from what we have, but from what we give!

So, he got tested to see if his liver would be a match for her fiancé. Amazingly, it was! So, they arranged for a medical operation to remove part of his liver and have it implanted into Lekan – the operation was a success!

Lekan is now healthy and was able to wed Anuoluwapo – thanks to Gbenga’s’ gift of life. Gbenga, with sincerity, donated his kidney to Lekan for free but his life has also improved a lot since his donation.”

Now, unlike Gbenga, many Christians believe that “giving” is all about “dishing out money” but frankly speaking, it goes beyond that!

Giving sounds so simple and rewarding but then, why is it that we so often have a hard time giving? Why are some people not moved to sacrifice or share their personal resources of finances, time and prayer to assist those in need? Why do we measure in our minds whether or not to give to others?

Many Christians will readily honour God with praise and worship but they draw a line when it comes to giving – money or other resources. They feel that speaking of giving is boring. They feel that they should give only when they are comfortable to part away with their means. God wants us to have the ‘heart to give’, no matter how big or little our resources are.

God bless you and Happy Easter.

Bayo, a Bachelor's degree holder and Tunde, a National Diploma holder, both in 'Banking and Finance' coincidentally applied for the same job in one of the biggest banks in Nigeria.

They met the job criteria (Age & other stuffs) and as expected in the interview, Bayo with his vast knowledge as a BSc holder compared to an ND holder, did extremely well than Tunde BUT surprisingly, Tunde was offered the job.

WHY?

Tunde claimed it was a 'miracle' - he knew Bayo was the 'man for the job' but he credited his 'luck' to the many prayers of the 'Pastors' he beseeched to pray for him about the job.

NOW... What has GOD, or Religion got to do with 'professionalism'?

If we lay so much hope on 'religion' than our 'capability', is there any hope for Nigeria?

Though I'm not condemning them as it is a matter of faith, it beats my imagination the number of hours some Nigerians daily spend in the Church than looking for ways to sharpen or explore their skills or professonalism, or get themselves engaged at work!

I am not advocating that Christians should spend lesser hour in the Church, but that they should draw a schedule between 'their spirituality' and 'their specialization'.

Even the Bible supports it, that "there is time for everything...". A time to pray... A time to work...

I mean they should not spend hours praying for a job someone other persons are burning their candles, reading and perfecting themselves for such work.

Really, if Bayo had been given the job, who knows, the kind of 'big ideas' he would have brought to the bank (to take them to the next level) than the prayer-relying Tunde.

Crux is this, like they say, "Success is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration"... We want more 'hardworking Nigerians' than 'prayer-relying Nigerians'.

God bless you all.

The Issue: My husband (a Pastor) has been agonizingly complaining about my close friendship with members of the opposite sex (Church members and at my workplace). Though he has absolute trust in me, he often warns me that this can be dangerous to our marriage.
While I understand the need for emotional fidelity and the importance of guarding against unnecessary temptations in my marriage, I'm heart-struck at obeying my husband and cutting myself off from the friendship with my male counterparts, which I feel are very valuable and beneficial to me in view of my status as a School teacher.
My relationship with them is chaste and I begin to wonder whether it is necessary to obey my man? – Mrs Lara A, Lagos.

My TAKE: I commend your husband for his outspokenness – many men would pretend to be at ease with such friendship while ‘laying landmines’ their wives’ paths (spying/monitoring their every movement).
Now, I don’t have any problem with a married woman keeping ‘male friends’ – my problem lies when she has ‘male companions’!
The degree of intimacy between a ‘friend’ and a ‘companion’ is glaring for all; so, no need going into that except you asked me to!
I'd like to refer to the Bible to clear this – much against what many people think, there are more to it than meets the eyes in the story of Joseph and Portiphar’s wife.
Unlike Jezebel, Mrs Portiphar was not really a ‘seducer’ – Jewish commentaries give her the name “Zuleka,” which means “fair, brilliant and lovely”. So, she was certainly virtuous until she only allowed her mindset to be beclouded by lust, and this often happen when a woman allows a relationship with a man to grow from ‘friendship’ to ‘companionship’!
Like wives of today, it was natural of Portiphar’s wife to “take notice of Joseph” as a handsome guy (Genesis 39: 7) and ‘want’ him.
When you read her account with Joseph, you will decipher that, from the level of their conversation, he was more than a friend to her – he was simply her companion (Her suggestion to Joseph says much about the level of the relationship: “Come to bed with me!” (Genesis 39: 7).
Possibly, prior to that, she had been having long conversations and spending hours in Joseph’s company until his charisma blew her off her feet and she demanded sex from him – this is typical of women who have ‘male companions’!
Men of today (ha!) – I wonder how many men, who would not have taken advantage of Mrs Portiphar’s salacious offer. Joseph did not; instead, he told her, “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” (Genesis 39: 9). Joseph didn’t call her “wicked” – he called “adultery” wicked – this again shows the level of their relationship, which is companionship!
Now, the warnings you have heard from your husband are given for good reason. I have seen many good women, who believed they were not vulnerable to sexual temptation, fall and disgraced. It is when we think we are beyond the reach of temptation that we fall.
I wouldn’t ask you to abandon your friendship with guys but I think that you should build a ‘wall’ around your ‘heart (your marriage and home)’ from such relationship. Please, don’t discuss your home, husband or marriage with them – no matter how depressing you are!
You can keep ‘male friends’ but not ‘male companions’. I stand to be corrected. – Kingsley Ugo Okenwa (26/02/17)

Christianity EtcShould Christian Women Wear Head-coverings When Praying Or In Church? - My Take! by scriptaz18(op): 9:30am On Feb 19, 2017
The Issue: I get enraged when some Christians criticize other Christian Women that leave their head uncovered. Well, I belong to the New Generational Church as well as I often leave my head uncovered; so, I often wonder why some Christians wouldn’t concentrate on winning souls for Christ than criticizing the dressing code of other Churches. This I ask; is it a necessity that Christian women should wear head coverings since my husband and Church find no fault with mine? Sister Funke, Lagos.

My Take (Answer): 1 Corinthians 11:3-16 addresses the issue of women and head coverings. This is admittedly a difficult passage to interpret and apply to today’s church. At that time, in the Corinthian culture, women wore head coverings to demonstrate submission to their husbands. No other book of the Bible mentions head coverings as a common practice. In Corinth, if a woman were to remove her head covering, it would be comparable to saying, “I refuse to submit to my husband.” Evidently, some women in Corinth were doing this very thing. As a result, Paul commands the women to wear head coverings to demonstrate their submission to their head, namely their husbands.
Now, in today’s culture, a woman wearing a head covering does not indicate submission to a husband. Hats are only fashion statements. Since a head covering no longer means what it meant in Bible times, women may not have to wear head coverings except when negated by their husbands or the Church. Women should do whatever is culturally normal for demonstrating submission to their husband. If you feel led of the Lord to wear a head covering, you should do so. This is an issue on which women should follow their own convictions, and not try to force their convictions on others.

Uh didn't the op use the same evil internet to post this stuff lol laughing in Swahili right now
Please, I did not condemn the Internet. In fact, it has greatly helped in the propagation of the Gospel. Many of you seem to misunderstand my write-up (like I disclosed, "this is an excerpt of a book". There are many-many benefits of the Internet that are sampled in the book. Anyways, let me elucidate it more comprehensively:

It's an 'apocalyptic writing' - I am talking about the end-time and how the Antichrist would maximize the use of the internet to track people down a la their whereabouts (this is basically for those that refuse to accept the mark of the beast). Like we know, there are lots of 'tracking-device options' in our GSM provider (let me not go into that now because it's another story). My point is this: The Internet has turned the world to a 'global village' and as such, as made it possible for a 'one-world leader = the Antichrist). I can't say all here but I want to clarify myself and that is: I am not condemning the Internet. The Internet has helped to revolutionize (improve) my writing(s); so, why would I condemn it?

Thank you.
