PoliticsRe: Maiduguri Under Heavy Boko Haram Attack by sCun: 9:04am On Jan 25, 2015
It is about time!
They completely surrounded the city long ago,, it was only a matter of little time before they attack from all angles.
Blame the military for being defensive instead of proactive.
BTW GEJ left Maiduguri just yesterday, it would have been interesting to see them attack then.

PAINGAIN:
Buhari politicised d military by a sworn affidavit by him that d military was in possession of his certificate which d military now says it doesn't have. The mistake buhari made was using his wasc as his qualification instead of using d diploma he obtained from oversea schools. If he had used his diploma just like gej used his phd nobody would b interested in his wasc. But suspicion arose when he used wasc as qualification but provided an affidavit. Buhari only has himself to blame,I mean, why didn't he just provide his wasc instead of affidavit?
He could have also referred INEC to WAEC, Cambridge or his school instead of mentioning the military. He should have applied for the certificate himself instead of swearing an affidavit too.
There are just many things he could have done rather than involve the military.
Buhari gets the blame 100%
PoliticsRe: …babangida Defends Buhari by sCun: 8:58am On Jan 25, 2015
Buhari brought the military into this mess.
Blame no one but Buhari for directing INEC to collect his certificate from the military instead of presenting it like others did.
There is absolutely no way anyone other than Buhari himself can be blamed for this...

Not every part of Borno has been taken ovet by Boko haram.
Some parts like Maiduguri still have people living their normal lives, you will even find some expatriates in Maiduguri working for oil exploration companies.

So who owns the old stadium and what happens to it now?
It was built FG (Abacha or so) but has been handed over to the Rivers government, I think they are in charge of the maintenance and revenue that comes from the stadium.

The old stadium is still very much in use, PH is big enough to have as many stadiums as possible.

So why did the state government see the need to build a new stadium when there is another stadium (Liberation stadium)?
Or are they not the owner of Liberation stadium?
Part of the greater Port harcourt project.
It is meant to attract development to the area and speed up the expansion of PH.

Lobatan!

You Jonathanians are Irredeemable........you believe in might is right principle

The Mandate to act for any state has been given during election to any party that wins...........so your illiteratic statement that 'In case Lagos people overwhelmingly want the President to use a stadium and the Governor is acting against their wishes' is peurile and have no basis in Law

Was a referendum conducted in Rivers that made people to say they want GEJ to use the stadium?

Stop speaking from your head because you feel that is how it is supposed to be........The Law is clear about separation of powers
Then Amaechi should go to court.
Simple!

Rivers youths protest against Amaechi for
refusing Jonathan access to new stadium for
campaign

A youth group in Rivers state, under the aegis of Kengema Unity Forum and Egberi Papa foundation yesterday prostested against the intention of the Rivers state government to prevent the PDP from using the Adokiye Amesimaka Stadium for their presidential rally. The youths marched through streets of Port
Harcourt, carrying placards. Their leader, Tubo Tamuno Dick told reporters that they were demanding for access to the stadium. Dick claimed that the stadium was built by a PDP
government in the state and not the APC. He said, “It is not possible. We must use that
stadium. After all, it was built with our common
wealth and by a PDP government. It is not
Amaechi’s personal property. “Amaechi has used it and there was no problem.
Buhari has used it and there was no problem; now we want to use it and they are telling us that work is on-going. “Let us say this now, if anything happens when we are using that stadium, it is Amaechi. If you hear that a part of the stadium has collapsed, it is Amaechi. “So, we are calling on the police to give us security
because when Amaechi used it they gave him
security. “How will a Northerner come here and use our property and you say our son, President Goodluck Jonathan and Nyesom Wike will not use it. It is a Niger-Delta property.” The PDP Presidential campaign train is scheduled to reach Rivers State on the 28th of January.

So why e come dey pain una like this. There are now three stadia in Port Harcourt - One in Town i.e the sharks football stadium (not so sure of the name), One in Elikahia rumu omasi (i.e the liberation stadium) and this one along the road to the airport. Yes I am pretty familiar with PHC. I think the other two stadia were built by FG. Do they not belong to the Rivers people too? Why can't GEJ use either of the two FG-owned stadia? Why must he used the one just built by the state government? BTW those other two are in the city-center so he will get more people to attend the rally compared to the Adokie stadium on the outskirt of PHC.
APC campaigned in Rivers twice, before and after their primaries. Why didin't they use any of the other stadiums you mentioned.
The Presido must use that stadium located close to the airport and there is nothing any of you can do about it.
Rivers people support him fully.

Thank God it isn't Amaechi's stadium.
River people, the owners of the stadium, fully endorse this take over.
Infact the Presido was just being diplomatic, he could have asked Wike to mobilise ordinary Rivers people to take over the stadium and they would have done that.

People were allowed to protest in the venue, I can't remember it being taken over.

There is nothing unlawful about the President's act.
Any civillian who didn't constitute public nuiscance nor commit any crime that was beaten by a policeman can deal with the person if he know his right.

Who is the Rivers state government? The stadium was built by Rivers people's money and over 90% of them will be very happy to see the President use the stadium.
A governor cannot overrule the interest of the people because of selfish party interests.

The soldiers should have been used to take over Sambisa forest, Baga, Gwoza, Michika and other places captured by Boko Haram instead of taking over a stadium for political campaign. Mtswss.
They are doing just that, they took over Mubi and some other towns, they will still reclaim those places from the militants.
There are enough men on ground in the north east to do that, it doesn't stop them from working in other parts of the country.

How would they prosecute the war? Who would they be fighting against?

They'l blow up their own oil pipelines and cause more oil spillage, land degradation and water pollution in their region .... They'l kidnap expatrate oil workers and chase away foreign investors from their region. So who stands to lose?

The same Asaro Dokubo that is beating the drums of war has his university and all his investments in benin republic and dubai

Battle ready soldiers have reportedly taken over the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium, located in Igwuruta-Ali in Ikwerre Local Government Area, ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign rally in the stadium.

Jonathan is expected to be at the presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers on January 28.

While the state government refused to approve the application from the state PDP for the use of the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium for its presidential rally, soldiers reportedly took over the place on Friday night.

Tony Okocha, Chief of Staff to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, described the action of the PDP and the Presidency, who might have directed soldiers to forcefully enter the stadium, as criminal.

Okocha called for calm and promised that the matter would be reported to the international community.

When you are left to choose between someone who disappointed you and your tormentor himself, you obviously go for the former.
Buhari and his fulani groups are tormentors of the middle belt.
