Try other embassies of schengen countries simple. The last time I tried the french Consulate for their visa, I made up my mind never to go there again. Giving me a fucking 8 days visa because I told them I was going for a conference. The embassy I use now issue me One-Year Multiple Entry Schengen Visa every year in the last four years now without sweat. And you know what? Their fees are even far cheaper than what you get charged at the fucking French Embassy for the same fucking visa. Of course I enter France uncountable number of times in a year. Na dem loose no be me! pschew!

Try other Schengen state embassies, that's my advice to you and stop complaining about what you really cannot do anything about.

It amazing that we really don't look at the impact of all these foreign laws before we start calling for them to be implemented in Nigeria here. What has that law benefitted America and other Countries that have them in place? Nada! rather it increased the rate of divorces by Geometric proportions and you see a lot of children growing up with single parents either on the father's side or the mother's side.

I visit the US often and can tell you the rate at which Nigerian women are ditching their Nigerian husbands and what heart breaks it is causing so many of them is really pitiable. As I write this, I have a friend in Arlington, Dallas Texas who is yet to get back on his feet because of what the wife did to him. This guy was a wonderful husband and all a woman could want in a man, but suddenly the Benin wife he brought from Nigeria and sent to Nursing school in the US decided to date a younger fellow nurse, before you know it... she was asking for divorce, got the house and drove my friend out. That my friend is currently living in the Dining Room of another of our friend there in the US cos that one has four kids and the wife in a three bedroom apartment, so no spare room for the guy.

What about the case of the Nigerian professor they said drove several miles to go and shoot his divorced wife dead in Houston sometime in 2011 because she was frustrating the life out of him. Let's not deceive ourselves, if this law is introduced in Nigeria... forget about family and traditional values, our society will fall into deep retardation that we'll keep asking ourselves 'How did we get here'.

Even without this law in place you can see that some of our women have already lost values for the sanctity of marriage. Me I don't think this will be a good idea at all oh!

Most importantly, pls include this boy in your daily prayers cos heart and kidney diseases are really not easy to cure. I cant believe there's not a Nairalander that lives between National stadium and Idi-Araba that could easily go and verify this for us. A lot of people are waiting to make donations, let somebody just go out there and confirm for the house pls. It's been confirmed that TEHN are kinda busy right now and can't do it so let somebody else just take up the gauntlet and save a soul. I'm currently outside the country but can still make my own little donations as I also have GTB Account that I can easily make transfers from.

Schools resume today....

Let\s see if parents will still keep quiet about this issue as there were no responses when it was posted since three weeks ago.

Fellow Nairalanders, this issue has been bothering me for a while now and I recently had a conversation with an older friend over this issue and we seem to be on the same page that it is neither proper nor legal for students in Private Nursery/Primary and Secondary Schools to pay Development Levies to such institutions.

For one these schools make us parents pay School Fees every term instead of for the whole session, then they go ahead to charge stuffs like lesson fees, medical fees, end of term party fees, library fees, computer lab fees, exam fees etc, but the one that really bothers me is the charge of Development Levies by these schools in addition to all these fees mentioned above.

Private Schools are personal businesses of the Proprietor / Owner of the schools, by us bringing our kids there, we are already patronising their businesses, so why must we be made to pay a certain levy for the development of that business? To me this is just a way these proprietors rip parents of scarce resources. I and this older friend argued in the PTA that it is morally, socially and legally wrong for parents (customers) to be charged for developing another person's business. What we've seen happen is that these proprietors use this dev. levies to go and set-up another branch of the school in new location and the cycle continues just like that.

I think the Ministry Of Education needs to look at this aspect of operations of Private schools in this country and make them realise they cannot just charge arbitrary fees all because parents have to send their kids to their schools. Some schools charge as much as N10k as developmental levies - can you beat that? I feel it is a slap on our faces that we grudgingly pay these levies and we dont do anything about it.

It's amazing that most posters here are not seeing Sanusi's real aim of trying to spend N40B to print new notes at this time in our economy when everything seems to be going the other way.

His real aim here is to raise funds for his Campaign to become the next Governor of Kano State, now that the thieving Farouk has been eliminated from the picture, he feels the coast is now clear for him. That is where he's headed I tell you and you and I both know that politicians don't use their own personal money for political campaigns anymore in Nigeria.

So even the sacking of the Sports minister then then really didn't transform to anything good for Nigerian Sports. This goes to show that the problem itself lies within the individual sports management and this has shown by the fact that the London Olympics that just ended is the worst outing for Nigeria ever.

I hope real people will rise to save Nigeria's Sports from Total Collapse.
