Seal777 reporting live from Houston , Texas. Landed sunday night at the George Bush Airport aboard Qatar airways after 8 hrs stop over in doha, went through the immigration, stopped for a check on my baggade and have my dried meat ( tinko ) , ginger and knoor chicken trashed by the airport screening officials, i was advice before leaving Naija to take red cab home since my host will nto be available to pick me at the airport but i saved $46 by taking a shuttle bus for $34 ( after an intenet search for cheaper shuttle at Doha ) instead of red cab for $80 to my destination ( naija brain ? ). I am home trying to learn the ropes, gone out sevarally using the metro bus card with effective use of the navigation on my ipad. Its a nice environment here in houston and i am hoping to enjoy every bit of it. In the meantime, i opened an account with Bank of America already and started spending from the account.......waiting arround for my GC and SSN. I have got some job offers awaiting my documentation. All for now, thanks all for your support |

Thomby2k12: Hello house, please I'm in need of advice. My brother is scheduled to attend his interview next week Thursday 21st March, 2013. He went for his medical test the day before yesterday and they told him the result would be ready on Saturday. This morning, they called him from the hospital and told him they found a problem in his x-ray and that he would have to undergo treatment that would cost N50,000.00. The problem now is that they told him that the result of the test would not be ready until after 10½ weeks. Pls, what are we going to do now? Please,. Before proceeding, let him have his x ray done in another hospital to confirm the outcome of their diagnosis because i met a guy at the embassy during my interview who has the same case at the Children's practice but since he was sure nothing was wrong with him and can not afford to miss his interview, he went to Q life in VI and was cleared. He got a call from the hospital that they will prevent him from taking the interview but the guy insisted and went for the interview and was granted his visa. I hope this is not another case of mix up, I an not saying their diagnosis is wrong but using the other guys case as a reference point, I will advice he gets an independent x ray confirmation from another hospital ( possibly Q life in VI ) before you subject yourself to any treatment.. If you are not clear enough, send me a mail. |

hardbody: That is where Insurance comes in. With a comprehensive Insurance Policy in place and premium paid as and when due, as long as there is life, you will get everything back. I know because they are presently paying for fixing of my accidented car. That accident happened before ijebu ode (as i was told) as the vehicle was being driven by a cousin while i was still enjoying the new year in my villa. I supported what you just said as out people are still living in the ignorance of the past about insurance. I had a very fatal accident with my car 9 months into my comprehensive insurance, i reported the case, fill the necessary forms ( no police report, no affidavits, no witness ). After inspection, i got a check for the total cost of repairs of my car since i agreed to do the repairs myself. IN NIGERIA : ITS WORKING, ITS REAL. |

idriez: Were you asked questions on your previous student visa application and reason for denial during your DV interview?. They didn't ask but they did a background check as i saw some notes on my application during questioning, though cant be too sure were those notes were extracted from. Its very natural, once your finger print is taken, your data comes up. TRUST AMERICA WITH BACKGROUND CHECKS, THEY DON'T JOKE WITH IT. |

ericgold: What can one do if he/she cannnot find his/her Confimation number. Once the confirmation number is lost, your application becomes null as you can not have access to checking your status at all and no information will be sent to your mail either. It took me till Oct 1st ( results released in May ) 6 months to realize i won because i misplaced my confirmation slip. |

[b]As far as i know, they don't delete information's but they might not deem it fit to cross check except there are red flags in your application.......send me a mail with the nature of your case and lets deal with it since you are not willing to make it public. |

ngnetbiz: Thanks, is that one way or return. And must he buy return since its visa lottery or he can buy the one way.hope it won't cause immigration issue at airport if he buy one way. Its a one way ticket, not compulsory to buy return except you have pans to return very soon. |

Your information's are very much in their grasp and they will surely check. Even though DV lottery takes precedence but they will cross check your past information's as well. What i did was to make sure my old information's are the same as the ones i filled while returning my forms to KCC. If you don't have issues with birth date and age changes, certificates date changes, you have no reason to worry but if you do, kindly explain yourself out truthfully and you will be fine. Fundamentally If your birth date and age changes,education certificates and dates changes, names on your passport changes........I am sorry, its an issue but the extent i can not say. Be prepared to answer sincerely to the questions as any attempt to cover them up will not be funny. That they keep your information's is never in doubt and that they will cross check is very certain but i want to believe DV lottery takes precedence if you are able to explain clearly when ask and hope that does not give a lead on some of your new information's you filled now. I also appeared at the embassy 2 years ago for student visa with genuine documents but was denied, now my visa was granted through DV LOTTERY and information's cross checked during my interview ( Waiting to travel now ) Don't evade your past, face it well prepared.[/b] |

Gentiger: Why do people take unnecessary risks which could be interpreted as premeditated fraud?. As per this guys case, he is over stretching his luck possibly due to the ignorance of the rules of the DV lottery. My case was very much the same as his case but i choose to push all my wedding plans till i got my Visa. I wouldn't want to play LOTTERY with A LOTTERY. Such opportunity comes but once, i wouldn't want to jeopardize a future which my wife is a part of. It wasn't easy for me but as a man and the family protector made by God, I got my way round her and the rest was history. I have my visa and plans are in top gear for my marriage plans as we speak. THE CHOICE IS THEIRS TO MAKE. |

After d wedding in nov, i sent another form through scanning to KCC, informing them of the latest development, but to my surprise, when dey send the 2nl, her name was not included as the benefiary, dey only invited me for the interview, please what should i do. Its urgent pls because my interview is next month.. Sort yourself out with your wife and go for the interview alone, you might have been saved from a possible VISA DENIAL as most cases ( NOT ALL ) in this category got denied. JUST MY OPINION. |

I will simply say, any case that has a slight or outright contradiction in their applications.....ranging from name arrangements/ change, marital status, contradictory birth dates, education, work experience dates or just mere physical suspicious of the genuineness of submitted documents. |

The Journey started October 26 2011 when my DV application was submittted, October 1st 2012 when the result was checked, Oct 2nd was application was mailed to KCC, DECEMBER WHEN 2NL Landed, Februuary 7th when interview was done and I got my valentine gift on the valentines day 14th february 2013, exactly 5 working day after my interview : MY PASSPORT WITH MY IMMIGRANT VISA ON IT.
