PoliticsRe: Edo High Court Restrains LP From Suspending Julius Abure, Other Party EXCOs by seanfer(m): 11:23am On Apr 06, 2023
Armaggedon:
The order of the FCT high court was made against Julius abure while the present one is directed against labour party.
..
The order of the FCT high court has removed Abure and this new order asking LP not to remove him can't stand.. He has been removed already except Appeal Court says otherwise.

This is a different case.
But the order of the FCT high court came first, that means the chairman is already removed before the Edo court ruling.
PoliticsRe: Edo High Court Restrains LP From Suspending Julius Abure, Other Party EXCOs by seanfer(m): 5:07am On Apr 06, 2023
The first order of the FCT high court stands. What the LP and Abure should have done is to go to a higher court which is appeal court and get stay of execution.
Benin high court can’t over rule the fct high court’s decision.

PoliticsRe: Breaking News; See Why Peter Obi Is The True Winner Of The Election. by seanfer(m): 6:51am On Mar 30, 2023
iSense247:
25% of FCT votes is constitutionally compulsory. Section 134(2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) is clear and unambiguous, direct and simple.

To be declared Presidential winner, a candidate must secure at least 1/4th (25%) of votes cast in 2/3rd of the entire 36 States of Nigeria (that is in 24 states). Also, the candidate must also secure not less than 25% of the votes cast at the FCT.

The literal interpretation of this section is that a candidate must secure 1/4th (25%) of votes cast in 2/3rd of the entire 36 States of Nigeria and 1/4th (25%) of votes cast in FCT. This provision is so clear, direct and unambiguous, that you don’t need a Professor of Constitutional Law to comprehend. The use of the word “and” had been held by the Supreme Court to be conjunctive, which implies that the conditions in Section 134(2)(b) are conjunctive and mandatory.

Resort to Section 299 (which states that the FCT is to be treated as a State in Nigeria), is a general provision that has no bearing on Section 134. A general provision cannot override a specific provision. Section 134(2)(b) is a specific provision on the conditions for declaration of a candidate and the presidential winner at the polls.

In conclusion, with the result of the general elections as published by INEC, the contest is still open, as none of the candidates has satisfied the legal threshold in Section 134.
Section 299 of the constitution states that FCT should be treated as a state.
Supreme Court judgements in the past also treat FCT as a state. Buhari vs OBJ 2003.

Yes... It is written in the Nigerian constitution.

The CJN holds office at the pleasure of the Nigerian constitution and can only be removed from office by death or on attainment of age 70 whichever occurs first or by impeachment by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which requires a super majority of the members of the Nigerian.... The current CJN is 69 years old.
No President appoints a CJN. Theirs a process which is the most senior Supreme Court Justice becomes the CJN.

PoliticsRe: Court Of Appeal Quashes PDP Case Against Tinubu/shettima Over Double Nomination by seanfer(m): 6:52am On Mar 25, 2023
Isobug:
Court Cases are different. If one failed with a particular prayer another person may succeed with the same prayer in the same court. It's not yet time for jubilation.
Meanwhile, Court proceedings are all about evidence. The judges claimed Atiku has no legal basis to institute the case. If your lawyers Provide enough evidence the case is yours nomatter the locus
Court judgements are always use as precedents on any future cases. This judgement will be cited in any future case of this nature.
You will see argument exactly like this ( in Atiku vs Tinubu & Shettima 2023).
As it is now except the Supreme Court rule otherwise no lower court can rule otherwise in any case of the nature in future.

Anybody that support Gbadebo now is Zombidiot or what? Did you see where I supported Gbadebo in my comment. I will never support anybody that insulted his tribes men and aligning with outsider to take lagos state. but notwithstanding, he is still yoruba than igbo.In yoruba lineage, they called his attitude as omoale.
He was on Arisetv last wednesday and Gbadebo said He doesn't think in yoruba, just imagine such insult to a tribe you want to govern. His past attrocities shows he's dislike for his fathers tribe calling them afonja way back 2017. No tribe will overlook such actions.

PoliticsRe: Onne Seaport Is Fully Functional. Igbos, Start Using It. by seanfer(m): 5:08pm On Mar 19, 2023
FatherOfJesus:
It's not true. The insecurity is blown out of proportion.

Every eastern town/city is well connected with roads. Onne seaport is just less than 50km to Aba. And there's a big duel carriage express road link. It's not an issue.
Aba to owerri is another about 50km, owerri to onitsha is about 100km and the road is not bad. These 3 cities are well connected to the port with good roads. From owerri, you can do a detour to nnewi, the road is good from Oba, no pothole.
Enugu/umuahia to port harcourt express is not bad. You can brings from onne straight to Enuguand connect abakaliki from there. All these roads are in good shape the last time I checked

Aba will serve as a big distribution hub

The whole insecurity thing is as a result of marginalization and its blown out of proportion.

The problem is that, some igbos are too comfortable in Lagos. They have started seeing a reason not to be too comfortable
When last did you pass that Aba to PH. That road is an eyesore. Even buses spent hours because it’s not motor able any more.
Also remember that shipping to Onne add extra cost than Lagos ports. What the east should do is the 5 governors should come together and build a seaport in the East, this will take a long time but it will worth it at last l. But you and I know that’s impossible.

Please tell me PDP is not cooking figures in Enugu.
PoliticsRe: Onne Seaport Is Fully Functional. Igbos, Start Using It. by seanfer(m): 4:53pm On Mar 19, 2023
FatherOfJesus:
they don't have to build in rivers. Aba, owerri are very close to rivers. Very very close to the port.

They can use it to develop southeast if they want access to the sea. Get the goods into southeast via onne and don't invest in rivers state. Invest only in oyigbo axis if you want.

Na wisdom.
The insecurity in the east won’t encourage most of them to relocate. Also the roads is another issue connecting to other parts of the country is not easy like Lagos.

But has a Yoruba nick name, why did Abia not go tribal on him. The way ur ppl went on Gbadabo
See thinking so shallow. Did he ever grad the Igbo race in the mud like Gbadebo did.
Even few days to election the dunce called Gbadebo went on Arisetv to say he didn’t think in Yoruba and he wanted to be a Governor in a Yoruba state.

Lol leave those fools the joke is on them. Tribalism has eating them like ewa.
Why vote in desmond, why love davido, why vote one Yoruba governor from either ondo or Ogun whose wife is Igbo.
The problem is coz the guy is not in APC and coz their chop money will change. Chinasa Abiola won in Abia state house. Nobody talk about the Abiola wa da him campaign name
Chinasa was on Arise tv denying any relationship with Yoruba. He said he’s a full blooded Igbo.

PoliticsRe: Igbophobia and Anti-igbo Sentiment Is Real by seanfer(m): 8:24am On Mar 19, 2023
OP just showed the typical easterners mentality. They blame others for their failures.
Ayim Pius Ayim contested the primaries and the Igbo delegates didn’t vote for him.
Same thing happened in APC, but a typical Igbo person will not blame his kinsmen for voting a Northerner/Westerner but will rather blame other regions.
