Bros, try to be very logical and analytical in your thinking.
Have you ever done case studies before? Or analytical argument?

Im not talking about who is more developed, corrupt, religious, nice, wicked etc

I’m talking about people holding on to powers and my argument is that it is not an African thing. It happens all over the world.
Stop diverting from the main issue of discussion.
This is how people fail critical thinking interviews and exams. It’s so simple, what is the issue? The issue I singled out is that people holding on to power for themselves and family is not an African thing, and I proved it by giving you Russia and North Korea as an example. simple and easy!

You are just trying to save face.
Go back and read your comments and the quote of the guy, you responded to, then come back let's talk.

Once you get to the south you have to settle all sorts of touts before your goods can get to the final destination. Miss Trial Takes The Stand...
Cartoon published 08/05/2024

MISS TRIAL TAKES THE STAND, STORMY DANIELS

Stormy Daniels, the porn star grifter who earlier lost her defamation case against President Trump, was back in the courtroom again. This time Stormy kept her clothes on under the bright lights and cameras. She was there to testify in Bragg's so-called "hush money" case. Basically, she was called up to lie about an alleged affair with President Trump. It did not matter that Trump provided a signed letter with Stormy’s signature on it that stated the affair never happened.

Stormy is one again producing lurid lies to cash in on Trump. What she says is about reliable as the prosecution's other star witness, the disgraced liar, perjurer, fraudster, and jail bird Michael Cohen, whom Stormy sued for defamation in 2018, which was dismissed. Now they are acting together as star witnesses against Trump. talk about credibility!

'Horse face' still owes President Trump $500,000 in legal fees from the last time she tangled with Trump in court. Like a moth drawn to a bug light, Stormy was lured by the trial spotlight. The attention was too tempting for the porn star.

We must admit that 'Miss Trial's' testimony was entertaining and at one point she started raising her voice. The Judge admonished her to stop talking so fast—the court could not keep up with her motor mouth.

CNN reported:

Paula Reid: It became really heated because Nicholas confirms you call him names all the time. Daniel starts to sort of yell, saying, “Yes, because he made fun of me first.” This is devolving pretty quickly. This is pretty toddler-esque conduct and lack of accountability. But what the defense is very effectively getting at is Daniel’s disdain for the defendant. This so far has been a very effective and dramatic cross and appears to continuing to become even more dramatic.

The Alvin Bragg case has turned a court of law into a Jerry Springer episode. It’s a clown show filled with gossip, lies, and innuendo. Still, what else would you expect from a Banana Republic justice system?

This is similar to a communist show trial and it is disgusting what Judge Merchan is making President Trump endure. These Soros-funded DAs and Democrat activist judges must be removed or they will destroy the American justice system. All prosecutors and lawyers who conducted these cases have committed election interference. They should be fired and disbarred.

That may never happen because it may already be too late.

We had to remove subsides because in 2012, the people that now lead us opposed subsidy removal. SO, the government of the day then kept subsides.

Fast forward to August 2022, and the resultant debt was eating 90% of our revenue. Hence all three candidates talking of subsidy removal. And thus tinubu being forced to remove subsides on day 1.

I don't like tinubu, but if I was in his shoes, I too may have to remove subsidy. It;s tough when 90% of your revenue is going to service debt , part of which results from subsidy. Something had to give.

Anway, karma is a baitch.

It's a good question you asked whether the constitution can act on its own. It's a basic question even.
I used to wonder when the constitution says a new president must be sworn in on the expiration of the tenure of the other, why we don't go to court to obtain a court order before swearing the president in.
Your analogy about a thief shows you don't understand the constitution though. For every crime, there's the presumption of innocence clearly spelt out in the constitution. It is because the constitution presumes the thief innocent until proven guilty that you can't just convict him. It is why our criminal justice system is termed adversarial.
For governance, the spirit and letter of the law should come alive and in case of conflict, the injured party can seek redress.
That you think every attempt to apply the law must go through the courts is actually a reflection of Nigeria's comatose education

nairalanda1:

Reactor or not, the man has highlited serious problems that need adressing.

But when governors try to adress such problems, you Nigerians protest. El rufai of kaduna came in with a mandate to improve Kaduna's education sector. He started by trying to remove deadwood teachers and replacing them with good teachers. Nigerians in Kaduna and nationwide joined the local NUT to stop the move.

And today, Kaduna continues to have poor education outcomes...because we were far more interested in keeping bad teachers in a job instead of bringing in good teachers.

As for funding...the same Kaduna is supposed to spend 120 billion on education...when that money is shared among the schools and the big state university , it ends up being tiny chicken feed. Yet when things like fighting corruption, improving tax intake, removing subsides on power to ensure that there is enough electricity to attract money and investments, and tax revenue to improve the budget...we go protest, so we rely on oyel money which cannot feed one state, talkless of 36 of them.

Obi you are calling reactor at least tried to improve schools by handing them back to misisonaries...but for some of you , he is basically doing nothing.

Anyway, we can always shout agbado and obident, and blame Hausas , Ibos and Yorubas ...forgetting that nothing has changed in decades.

The day they decamped, they lost their seats - per Supreme Court ruling. Continuing as members of the HOA, in the name of “political agreement”, is meaningless. Whether the case is in court, per PDP, also is immaterial, knowing the declaration of the Supreme Court and the constitution. What is clear is that Fubara recognizing them, after meeting with Tinubu, was worthless, as Tinubu’s solution was worthless in the face of constitutional provisions. Their seats became vacant automatically, the day they decamped to another party. All decisions reached by them are as used tissue paper.

When the house reconvened after the so called political solution, all the members returned. Do.not forget that while the crisis of suspension lingered and the 4 broke away, a court in Rivers state recognized Ehie as the speaker of the state HOA. Ehie’s resignation has not removed the fact of his recognition. Or at least I have not read that. The problem however remains that the 27 are legally no longer members. They allowed themselves to get into that unnecessary political battle.

The immediate problem that needed to be tackled by Fubara, was the threat by Amaewhule, his group and APC Rivers state to impeach him. Now he has his own CJ and speaker. How can that be carried out? Again, without doubt, all the decisions and pronouncements in the house by Anaewhule are worthless going also by the law. It may be slow, but the courts will declare them so.

Unfortunately, Fubara has found his feet after his election victory. He knows the power of the governor. Now he shows that power. He can pull down their quarters and force them to vacate. The mace in their hands is useless. He’s going to treat them as impostors.

In all, Wike must stop this issue of “my structure”. Nobody is taking away his structure. He fought godfathers, including Buhari. Even though he brought Fubara, he must let the governor face the job.
