As someone who grew up in Oluyole Estate and know that road like the back of my hand, I think this is some seriously misplaced priorities by the governor. They've 'done' this road before so why not focus on other areas. Oluyole Industrial Estate is right there and somehow every governor has chosen to ignore it. The Estate contains (or at least used to contain) some of the bigger consumer good manufacturing companies (7up, P&G, Sumal, Yale etc) and the road connecting to those are the worst they have ever been. We talk about Ibadan not being able to generate money but imagine how many more companies would have been interested in moving to that estate if the road was done and how much tax they can generate from that.

They could have even tried expanding the road from Mile 110 leading all the way to Dugbe and especially where it turns to Aleshinloye as that spot is always problematic. I really thought having an engineer for a governor will bring some much needed educated lens as to how to address the road issues in Ibadan but i guess not. SMH.
Thank you

Is Tantita a military contractor or a militant?

Military contractors used by USA are usually ex servicemen, not just picking rogue entities and entrusting them with the Nations territorial defence.

To even think some idiots will be defending this rubbish.
What a Nation.
The militant tag ended with amnesty. Tantita is a security contractor. There are ex servicemen in Tantita as well if that answers your counter on what the other poster said.

You can talk about the bad in Nigeria outsourcing it's security to private bodies without necessarily attaching false tags to what you are saying.
To lay credence to what the other guy said, even the almighty America uses private contractors

Romance / Re: Why Is It That Most Ladies Don't Want To Date Or Marry Their Age Mates? by Honeydenz(f): 7:17pm On Apr 25
Daystar7:
This shouldn't be a topic to be debated by sane minds...
Back when we was in sec sch. I had a crush on this dark hairy girl with big ass, we was still in SS1, she liked me too but wouldn't be with me the way I wanted. SS3 guys 'll come around and be with them and it made me mad and jealous. I saw the SS3 guys as predators cos why won't they leave our girls alone and be with those their class. I was so disturbed I discussed it with her one day, I asked her why them girls didn't give us their class the kind of attention they gave to the guys in the senior class and she said it's nature. She said those guys in higher class are more responsible, experienced and older and they can handle them better than we their mates. She said we might truly be mates but we not really mates. Women appreciates and depreciates faster. Since then I understood how the dynamics of the male and female relationship works. A woman can hardly love a man without respecting him first. Difference in Age makes it easier. Men's love language is respect, women knows this, it's one of the ways they flirt. If she likes you she'll greet you and maybe stop if you hesitate to shoot ur shot at her. It's the same in Animals too, age, size, strength, skill all plays a role. An alpha within a pride has all the bitches within the pride same way a Man with skills (Money) is an Alpha too. The skill can be leadership, you notice pastors, Imams, politicians, successful businessmen, doctors, musicians and entertainers (Artists) generally gets a lot of female attention. Age is a major factor in the dynamics of human interaction. Women also age faster esp when they start reproducing. So as a man it's very wise to develop yourself first, be a Man other women want and she'll want you too and always invest in yourself while investing in ur woman to stay ahead. If you uplift your woman above you, you've played yourself cos those men above her will notice her and she'll be naturally attracted to them and seeing you're below her will bring resentment and she'll more than likely leave. It's Life!
This is exactly what happened to my elder brother's relationship. He was working in Abuja in a good company, and had this girl on campus who was in human physiology. He spends so much on her, her parents and siblings, he was dead in love. Somehow, my elder brother managed to talk to some of his lecturer friends in d clinical science and at 300level, this girl changed from physiology to medicine and surgery. Guess what? The following year when she started to relate with already made doctors in d teaching hospital where she was now attached, this girl cunningly ditched my elder brother and went to marry a medical doctor who was already working and had a nice car. 🚗 but today my elder brother who graduated from civil engineering is richer than her husband now as he's now handling big contracts, last time she saw him at the airport, she couldn't hide her shame.. though she's doing well too, she's a medical doctor today. Doctor marry doctor...any wise man should learn quickly that women just want the best for themselves, hehe he inside life!

I'm not sure about the salaries but I do know they are not a for-profit organization like most private schools so teachers are paid generously. Fees this year is about 5 million. They do have additional termly fees for using medical facilities and a few other services.

Loyola is VERY selective in its admissions. Every year, about 2500 students sit for the entrance exam into JS 1. They accept only 120 (about 4 percent of applicants). Every student must live in the boarding house and they do not accept transfers into other classes. So your classmates in JS1 are the same ones you'd graduate with in SS 3 barring those that leave in-between. It is a very close-knit community.

They've had and still have some pretty high profile parents. Mind you, they'd NEVER admit your kids based on who you are but strictly on Merit. The entrance exam is administered once in a year, followed by an interview.
Some of the high profile parents are:
Former Kano State Governor and present APC chairman, Ganduje, had two kids there. One graduated in 2004 and was just appointed by Tinubu as the Executive Director of Rural Electrification (Umar Abdullahi)
Former Nassarawa Governor's daughter, Adamu. I think he is a senator
Former Edo State Governor and former APC chairman, Oshiomole.
Former Ekiti Governors son and daughter, Oni.
Former Akwa Ibom governor and current Senate President, Akpabio had two kids at Loyola
Former Imo State Governor's son, Udenwa.
Former Imo State Governor's daughter, Rochas Okorocha
Former Kogi Sate Deputy Governor, Omeiza
Former Labor party's presidential candidate, Patrick Utomi. Had two kids at Loyola
Abike Dabiri had two kids
Former Ambassador of Nigeria to Switzerland Uhomoibhi, had two kids
Former Finance minister's kid, Diezani Madueke, graduated in 2003 (This was long before she became minister)
Former CEO of Fidelity Bank, Ihejiahi, had 4 kids there
Fomer CEO of Konga had two kids there, one of which is CEO of the firm

A good number of senators: Ndoma-Egba, Chris-Asoluka etc. There are quite a number, can't type it all.

You see this information you have dropped here? I'm extremely grateful and pleased. Thank you!

One last question, how does one groom his or her child to be able to pass the exams and interviews to gain admission into LJC?

P.S. An observation, if it's based on merit, how come there are quite a number of politicians who send their children to the school? I sincerely hope they don't influence the tutoring, scoring and administrative processes. Na Nigerian politicians we dey talk about.

P.S. I think the child of Kogi's Audu was accused of sexual harassment by one prominent TwitterNG feminist some years ago. Both attended the school.

Vivian Chizoba, a member of a Facebook forum “Igbo Rant,” took to social media to share the stunning photos, igniting a wave of discussion online.

The saga began when the couple, who reportedly initially connected on Facebook, forged a relationship through countless chats and phone conversations.

Despite their virtual bond, the groom-to-be allegedly cited his demanding schedule abroad as the reason for his inability to return home for a traditional wedding.

Unbothered by her lover’s supposed unavailability, the determined bride took matters into her own hands.

Clad in a wedding gown, she proceeded to hold a wedding ceremony with only his photograph in hand.

Astonishingly, it was revealed that the groom had even gone as far as to send funds to facilitate the event.

Family / Re: Why Do Some Men Demand Intimacy before helping their Brother's Widow? by SoNature(m): 6:38pm On Apr 25
The reason is that humans are genetically built to be selfish. In all things, people consider what they will gain first before anything else. When a man has this mindset, he becomes a terrible human being.

Because our world pays so much attention to sex, men see it as a trophy when they sleep with a lot of women. That's why men don't talk about self-respect or self-control. We are more interested in learning new sex styles and trying them than having self-discipline.

With the union of those two traits in you, of course, you will want to try out these things on several women, irrespective of the relationship you share with her.

Nairaland / General / Fremont Moving Company - When To Hire One? by DanishKhan786: 6:11pm On Apr 25
Relocating to a new home can be an exciting adventure, but it also comes with its fair share of stress, not just for you but for your furry friends as well. If you're living in Fremont or the surrounding areas and planning a move, it's essential to consider the comfort and safety of your pets. As a moving company in Fremont with extensive experience, we've compiled some invaluable tips to help ensure a smooth transition for you and your pets.

Prepare an Overnight Kit

Just like you, your pets will need immediate access to their essentials during the move. Prepare an overnight kit with food, litter, toys, and grooming tools. This will help reduce their anxiety and provide a sense of familiarity with the new environment.

talk to Your Vet

Before you move, schedule a visit to your vet. This is especially important if you're moving out of the area and must transfer records to a new veterinary practice. Your vet can also advise how to make the move less stressful for your pet and prescribe medications if needed.

Keep Your Pets Away from the Action

On a moving day, the best place for your pets is away from the action. The presence of movers in Fremont and the commotion of moving can be very stressful for animals. Consider keeping them in a quiet, secure room or having them stay with a friend or at a pet daycare facility on a moving day.

Update Information

If your pet has an ID tag or microchip, remember to update your contact information before you move. This is crucial in case your pet slips out during the moving process. Having the correct information will increase the chances of a safe return if they get lost.

Transport Your Pet in Your Vehicle

When it's time to head to your new home, transport your pet in your own vehicle. Familiar scents can help calm your pet's nerves during the drive. A carrier is advisable for cats and small dogs, while a secure, comfortable harness may be better for larger dogs.

Keep Them Secure While Traveling

If you're traveling a long distance, ensure your pets are comfortable and secure. Take regular breaks to allow dogs to stretch their legs and relieve themselves. Cats are not as comfortable with change, so it's best to keep them confined in their carrier during the journey.

Familiarize Your Pet with the New Home

Upon arrival at your new home, letting your pet explore right away is tempting. However, it's best to set up a small area with their favorite toys, bedding, and other familiar items first. Gradually introduce them to different areas of the house as they become more comfortable.

Maintain Routine

Pets thrive on routine, so try to maintain their regular schedule for feeding, walks, and playtime. This consistency will help them adjust more quickly to their new surroundings. Moving can be just as stressful for pets as it is for humans. Give your pet extra attention during this transition period. Comforting them with extra cuddles and play sessions can help reassure them that everything is okay.

Be Patient

Finally, be patient. It will take time for your pets to acclimate to their new home. They may exhibit behavior that isn't typical for them, such as hiding or being more vocal. With time and your support, they will settle in.

Moving with pets doesn't have to be a daunting task. By following these tips from experienced movers in Fremont, you can ensure a smoother transition for your beloved animals. Remember to plan ahead, keep their needs in mind, and provide plenty of love and reassurance along the way.

It is true that Wars aren’t won based on military strength but Politics. Warfare is political game but Nigeria is highly divided. It’s not united. Nigerian soldiers can hardly face Boko Haram or the bandits not to talk of advanced militaries. This is also a hypothetical situation. No nation would ever use a nuclear weapon. That would be political suicide. But if they did the nation that was hit by the nuclear weapons would be in chaos. If Britain launched just 10 nuclear weapons against Nigeria. Nigeria’s situation would make Gaza look like a paradise. Nigeria is a country with population centres around the country. 10 nukes would eliminate much of the infrastructure and people in the country. Loss of life would be colossal. Millions will die. Hunger and Poverty increases dramatically.

I was talking about conventional warfare when I made that post. Nigeria cannot stand any nuclear power
Business / Re: Solar Panel Price In Nigeria – Everything You Need To Know by Obierika(m): 6:08pm On Apr 25
izicode1:
It is very unfortunate that most of my clients are very interested in knowing solar panel price in Nigeria without knowing the facts behind solar panels.

I am using this medium to tell you that all solar panels are not equal. Therefore, you need to know the types of solar panels, and their advantages and disadvantages before knowing how much is a solar panel in Nigeria.

Fraud Alert:
Most solar panels on the market have fake or wrong stickers on them, which means you risk buying 200w as 500w. Read below to learn how to buy the exact capacity of solar panels you want to buy.

How to Determine the Number of Solar Panels You Need

The solar panel is the most crucial part of the solar energy system. Without the panel, you can’t harness the sun to convert to electricity. So, to a large extent, the quantity of power you can generate with solar depends on the number of solar panels available to capture the sun rays.
So, how do you determine the number of solar panels to use in a system?

It is a technical calculation, but I will provide you with a simple approach that can give you a near estimate of the number of panels to use.

Calculation:

Firstly, consider the capacity of the inverter.

Secondly, determine the space to place the panels

Thirdly, the space will determine the wattage of the solar panel to use.

As a rule of thumb, the smaller the space the higher the wattage capacity of the panel needed.

Let’s assume you want to have a 5kVA system installed: This means that the inverter capacity is 5kVA.

Again, let’s assume the space to place the panels is small, in that case, we need higher capacity solar panels, which could be 600W, 570W, 450W, 420W, 410W, and 380W.

Remember, 5KVA is equal to 5000W.

So, to determine the number of panels, you can easily divide the inverter capacity by the wattage of the panels available.

Therefore, if you are considering using 600W panels, the roughly estimated number required should be:
5000/600 = 8.333, which is 8

If you are considering using a 450W panel, then the roughly estimated number required should be:
5000/450 = 11.111, which is 11

Please note: In real engineering design there are lots of factors that determine the final or exact number of panels to use.
This is to give every layman an idea of how to go about determining the number of panels required for a system.

Types of Solar Panels in Nigeria

There are 2 types of solar panels, which are:
• Monocrystalline
• Polycrystalline

Both panels are made of silicon wafers but the technology behind them makes the monocrystalline solar panels more efficient and reliable than the polycrystalline solar panels.

Let’s look deep into each of the types of solar panels listed above;

Monocrystalline Solar Panels

This is the most efficient and reliable solar panel you must go for. It is designed to trap and harness the energy from the sun no matter how low the intensity of the sun is.

Advantages

• Very high efficiency: This means that monocrystalline solar panels convert more than 22% of the sunlight into usable electricity
• Space efficiency: Due to how effective this panel is in harnessing sunlight, it does not require much space to produce the energy you need. In other words, a few panels will serve you well, depending on the capacity of your inverter
• Durability: Monocrystalline solar panels are designed to work effectively for a minimum of 25 years. Report shows that it can go up to 40 years working perfectly
• Low Light Performance: Even in less-than-ideal conditions with lower sunlight levels, monocrystalline panels outperform other types.

Disadvantages

• The only flaw of this type of panel is that they are very expensive.
Polycrystalline Solar Panel

If you are looking for an affordable solar panel with less efficiency, then polycrystalline should be your best bet. It does not convert much sunlight to usable electricity.

To get the required usable electricity from polycrystalline solar panels, you need to stack so many of them, which means it consumes a lot of space.

Due to the space it consumes, it is not advisable to use them on the roof. Instead, you make a platform, which is an added cost to the solar project.

With this, you are now equipped with information on the best solar panels to use for your project. Let’s now go deep into the price of solar panels in Nigeria

Price of Solar Panels in Nigeria

The price solar panels range between 50,000 and 200,000 Naira, depending on the capacity and brand.

Warning: Most solar panels on the market have fake or wrong stickers on them, which means you risk buying 200w as 500w

There are only a few solar panels in Nigeria that have the exact wattage placed on them. The ones I can defend because I have used them over the years as an installer are:
• Foresolar Panels
• Choice Panels
• KBC Panels

To get the original of these products, you must buy directly from the company or their main distributor on Jiji (Felsolar tech Nig Ltd). Their distributor is a verified member of Jiji, which means you can transact with them without any problem. Or WhatsApp them on +2347030683495

Interestingly, they ship to every part of the country within 3 days once your payment is confirmed.

Solar panel Price in Nigeria Conclusion

Remember, anytime you talk of solar, you are talking of the utilization of the available sunlight in Nigeria. And the only thing that can give you access to the sun is the solar panel.

So, it is the most important part of the solar system, hence you must get it right or you suffer darkness that you are running away from the failed Nigerian government to produce power.

That means that solar price in Nigeria shouldn’t be your main goal, rather getting the right reliable, efficient and durable solar panels should be.
And once you follow my guide as written above, you will definitely enjoy solar panels that will give you maximum usable electricity.

Will you hide under this verse to drink Alcohol?
You don't have same ailment as Timothy did right?

We have many other verses that talk about being drunk. read all through and don't take just one or two verses in isolation.
When you start with just a shot, you graduate into taking several mugs.

We all know how addictive Alcohol could be. In cough Syrup and other medicine, they are of little quantity which can't have harmful effect in the body.

Good point but it did not tackle the discuss if taking alcohol is a sin.
The fact is, it is not a sin.
You may want to discourage people because if you don't take little you can't be lured into being addicted. Fine, it is okay to discourage the intake of it for such reason.
But if you are asked the question: is it a sin to take alcohol?
What will be your reply?

Bro. Its not a sin.
Period.

That was a reply to "Anambra na their papa" post.

Schools from several states in Nigeria win competitions all the time. There is nothing special about Anambra than other states of the federation .

Someone posted up there a school in Ogun state that won an International maths competition (World maths competition).
Bros online IMO can talk to Anambra in education... Anambra no be your mate

BBC have a lot of problems to talk about in the society where they operate from. They should leave us to deal with our issues our own way

FYI, Pastor Chris is aired world wide and so the need to come investigate his unfounded narrations.
