If you’ve ever watched a military movie or listened to a conversation between soldiers, you might have heard the term “klick” used when they talk about distances. But what exactly does this term mean, and how far is a klick?

What is a Klick?

.
Very educative.
It can also be used in a sentence like "the sons of Jacob, the lineage of Abraham, the race through which our lord Jesus Christ was born has driven the slaves of Allah, the ass lickers of Muhammad 100 klicks south of the red sea" grin grin grin

There is a difference between knowing and Believing
Knowing:
1. We dont Believe that 1+5=6 because we can 100% verify that this is the outcome of our position remain static even if you go to the moon or mars to do it.
2. We don't Believe that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the president of Nigeria. It is among the things we know with 100% certainty.
Believing:
We hold a position of Belief and not knowledge anytime our position has an iota of uncertainty...

Can you state your three best reasons for disbelieving in any Deity as the Creator?
.

Like atheists do eg knownunknown, i believe the Dangote is the president of Nigeria and not Tinubu. I don't even know if Tinubu exists not to talk of him being president,.

And i believe 1 + 5= 15.

This is how atheists choose their beliefs.

If you’ve ever watched a military movie or listened to a conversation between soldiers, you might have heard the term “klick” used when they talk about distances. But what exactly does this term mean, and how far is a klick?

What is a Klick?

A “klick” is a term used by the military to denote a distance of one kilometer. It’s equivalent to 0.62 miles or 1,000 meters. The term is widely used by military personnel around the world and has become part of the jargon that transcends national boundaries.

Also read: 100 clicks to Miles: How to Convert and What It Means

The Origin of the Term

The exact origin of the term “klick” is not clear, but it’s believed to have been used as early as World War I or the Vietnam War. It’s thought that the term was adopted for its clarity over radio transmissions, where the sharp sound of “klick” could be more easily distinguished than "kilometer".

Why Use Klick Instead of Kilometer?

In the military, clear and concise communication is crucial, especially during operations. The term “klick” is preferred over “kilometer” because it’s shorter and less likely to be misunderstood during radio communication. This is similar to the use of “mikes” instead of “miles” for the same reasons.

How is it Used?

In practice, if a soldier reports that they are “10 klicks south of your position,” they are indicating that they are 10 kilometers away. This simple term allows for quick and efficient communication of distances, which can be vital in military operations.

Conclusion

Understanding military terms can be fascinating, and “klick” is one of those terms that has a practical purpose beyond its linguistic interest. It’s a term that has stood the test of time and continues to be an essential part of military vernacular for measuring distance.

Hello everyone, I got a call from a man in the Village (Elele, Rivers State) on Tuesday night, that we should look for a way to come and carry our mother as she has slumped and was rushed to a hospital, where she was in coma.

He explained to me that my mother went to demand for the payment of the debt the man is owing her and he angrily beat her up, he stripped her , tore her clothes, her underwear was torn too. I’m literally crying as I type this. Everyone that tried to stop him he chased with the machete. Now my dad is late , else he won’t have tried this.

I am in Lagos so I’ve not seen her my sister that was able to travel to Elele to see her sent me the pictures.

She is out of coma now, but still unable to sit or stand or talk. We also noticed she is bleeding from her private part.

We arrested the evil man with the Elele police but the community Igwe bailed him, he is a known person in the community and owns a hotel there.

I really want this man to receive this level of Physical pain or more, because my mum almost lost her life.

I don’t know what to do or how to go about getting justice for her.

We are at military hospital port harcourt now.

How old are you, I’m not advocating cultism but do you think this would happen to the mother of a cultist or the mother of a person seen as a gangster in his neighbourhood?

Bro don’t come and cry on NL, be a man and fight back.

If I were you, that man would be dead or stolen and I or my mom won’t be a suspect.

Na for faceless forum like NL una dey get power.

They are just hateful, insecure and empty megalomaniacs always primed to fight others and disturb the peace of society daily instead of introspect to look at themselves sincerely and progressively

You know this talk about redirecting business from Lagos because the apapa port is what brings alot of business dealings.

Exactly that's why.
Which I can understand but what I don't fully get is why shipping companies prefer apapa.
Even the newly constructed lekki port is still not as active as expected from industry gist.

So yes to mainly take business away from Lagos.

We once had that arguement here in 2022, and i said that almost no shipping line will want to do anything with another port apart from Apapa. The reason is because our waters are not safe.

Well, i was shut up by the Defensive midfielders of Buhari, on how our waters are the safest in Africa.

But that's beside the point.

If the country is import dependent, is the reason for the port to drag shipping lines with Lagos?

Will any shipping line have enough cargo from California to Ondo? Or when it berths in Lagos, dem go use badges begin carry am?

Absolute trash.

Let every homo sapien live life at his/her own pace.

What is the big deal about university education that a 15 or 16yr old cannot cope with?We talk as if we do not have thousands ,if not millions of people that have successfully passed through university education at entry ages of 15 or 16,over the century .

I entered unilag at 16 and graduated at 20.

What and how are my classmates that entered Unilag at 18 better than me,Just how for God’s sake

Going for skills acquisition is all about interest and not age, same applies to tertiary education.
No body should force anyone to acquire skills or go to university,it should all be about interest and passion and not age.

As a matter of fact ,the younger the brain, the greater the talent .

Too much of band wagon and rubbish talk on social media!

I never said those who entered can not fare well academically. What I stressed was that one's youth should be savored and enjoyed. The overall development of the child and not just academic is the issue here.

There's a reason in many countries, the law stipulates 18 yrs for higher education.

maybe you guys can create a whatsapp group, where you guys can readily say what comes to mind.

With that being said, its an advantage if you dont talk too much, because you take in more information, which helps to easily asses people or situations, why is this so? thats because you already KNOW what you are about to say, you dont know what others have to say, so instead sending out what you already know, rather you are taking in new information you wont know.
if there is more you need to know ask those questions, not some fluff just to impress. If the questions are true and valid, there will be conversation.
And please take what you hear as it is, NOT as you think it should be - when people tell you who they are, believe them.

Being an introvert is just a means to an end, its not the end goal.
Most introverts are feared because no one knows what there are thinking (speaking from experience), but when the rubber hits the road you MUST prove them right. Learn to be a dangerous person, dont tolerate evil, in this world where lies and deception is the norm let TRUTH be your North Star - cos the end goal is being at peace with your conscience.
