Asisat Oshoala and Super Falcons 🔥australia 2 vs Nigeria 3- All Nigeria Goals | FIFA Women World Cup

Sports / Women's World Cup: Oshoala, Uche, Ohale Score As Nigeria Beat Co-host Australia by damilola4162(m): 2:15pm On Jul 27, 2023
The Super Falcons of Nigeria pulled a star performance against co-host, australia in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women's World cup, Newspremises reports.

Super Falcons came from behind to beat the impressive Matildas, who dominated most of the first half.

Nigeria's goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie made some super saves to keep her side in the game, but she could do nothing about Emily Van Egmond in the first minute of first-half stoppage time.

The ball found was able to the striker in the danger area before she coolly slotted a low drive past Nnadozie to put australia ahead, per Independent.

Nigeria restored parity with the last kick of the second half after Rasheedat Ajibade’s effort was deflected to the path of Uchenna Kanu, who tucked home from close range.

The Super Falcons took the lead courtesy of a Osinachi Ohale header in the 65th minute and then substitute Asisat Oshoala scored a beauty in the 72nd minute to extend the lead for the Africans.

Nigeria endured a late scare as Alanna Kennedy pulled one back for australia in stoppage time, but it came too little too late.

It ended Nigeria 3-2 australia.

Super Falcons’ next step

The future of the Super Falcons after their recent victory seems promising. With the win, Nigeria has now claimed the top spot in Group B, securing 4 points from two matches.

Their first match against Canada ended in a goalless draw, but they bounced back with a victorious performance.

Notably, Canada also sits at 4 points, making them strong contenders in the group. Meanwhile, australia holds 3 points, and the Republic of Ireland lags behind at the bottom with zero points.

The next crucial match for Nigeria is against the Republic of Ireland, scheduled for July 31. A draw in this game will be sufficient to guarantee their qualification to the next round of the tournament.

The Super Falcons will undoubtedly be eager to maintain their momentum and secure a place in the next phase of the competition.

Sports / Super Falcons: Blow For Nigeria As Oshoala Is Set To Miss Australia Clash by ddddon(m): 9:58am On Jul 26, 2023
The Super Falcons are set to be without two key players for their all-important clash against australia on Thursday.

Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala could miss Nigeria’s FIFA Women’s World Cup clash against australia at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday morning.

Oshoala featured in Nigeria’s opening game of the tournament against Canada last Friday but could be absent when Randy Waldrum’s women take on the Maltidas on Thursday.

Oshoala a doubt for Super Falcons clash against australia
The Barcelona star reportedly picked up a knock after she was taken off in the match against Canada, and faces a race against time to be fit for the clash against australia.

Although Oshoala did not have the best match against Canada, her potential absence will be a blow for the Super Falcons in their quest to cause an upset against the co-hosts.

The Barcelona star is still arguably Nigeria’s biggest threat and will cause problems for australia’s defence.

Oshoala is not the only player set to miss the game against australia. Deborah Abiodun will also not be available for the game after she picked up a red card in the final moments of the match against Canada.

However, the good news for Nigeria is that Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde, who both missed the clash against Canada due to suspension, are back for the game against the Maltidas.

Also, Desire Oparanozie is set to return after missing the first game due to an injury. The Super Falcons will edge closer towards qualifying for the round of 16 with a win on Thursday morning.

I don't know why i feel like the world cup organizers extended Nigeria vs australia game so that sam kerr can be fit against us. Most of the teams we played before have already played their second game. It just looks fishy to me or maybe I'm overthinking it. If sam kerr is fit for that match maybe that would be my answer.

Canadian midfielder Quinn has become the first out trans and non-binary footballer to play at a World Cup.

Quinn started Canada's match against Nigeria on Friday at the Women's World Cup, with the game ending in a goalless draw.

The 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes, but was unable to help the team find a breakthrough as their campaign got off to a frustrating start.

They entered the World Cup in australia and New Zealand as one of the favourites, but failed to get all three points in their opening game as Christine Sinclair saw her penalty saved by Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Canada have been placed in the same group as australia and Republic of Ireland, with the Matildas beating their Irish opponents 1-0 on Thursday despite playing without injured star striker Sam Kerr.

Sports / Those People Critizing Super Falcons Know This by orohbiro(f): 10:35am On Jul 22, 2023
I have heard some idots who does not even know women critizing the team for picking a draw against Olympic champions Canada(4) rank team in the world. Do you know Nigeria is the least rank team(40) even the betting odd was against them to even secure a draw. Ireland is (22) ranked team in the world why host nation australia is (7) ranked team in the world. Don't put pressure in thesis team cause they have done well even with all the frustration of NFF.
Sports / Nigeria 0-0 Canada: Goalkeeper Stars As 10-player Falcons Secure Valuable Point by godsaveak47: 11:02am On Jul 21, 2023
Nnadozie saved a penalty in the 50th minute at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, denying Christine Sinclair from the spot with a leap low to her left as the Canada skipper missed out on becoming the first player to score in six World Cups.

The teams were left with a point each, trailing Group B leaders australia by two following the co-hosts' 1-0 win over Ireland on Thursday.

Both sides had their chances but Sinclair, who came off in the 70th minute, was perhaps the most frustrated, having also missed a good opportunity when she fired wide in the ninth minute.

Nigeria barely breached the final third in the second half but defended desperately to hold the Canadians out to the finish. After the final whistle, Nnadozie slumped to her knees and pumped her fists while roaring in celebration.

Nigeria's joy was tempered by a red card handed out to midfielder Deborah Abiodun deep in stoppage time. She will miss their next game against australia.

Canada dominated possession and it was not long before Nigeria were opened up, with Sinclair finding space on the edge of the area and blasting wide of the right post.

Nigeria belatedly found their groove and began chiselling away at the Canadian defence down the left flank.

Ifeoma Onumonu unloaded from long range in the 23rd minute, forcing goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan into a diving save at the far post.

Jordyn Huitema fired back for Canada minutes later with a good chance in the box but headed well wide.

The scrappiness continued, with Sheridan charging off her line 10 minutes from the break and missing the ball with a clearing kick to give Nigeria a glimpse at goal.

But Asisat Oshoala's cross at the near post was blocked and both teams went to the break frustrated.

Canada's frustration spiked shortly after the interval as Sinclair was brought down in the box by Francisca Ordega, the penalty awarded by VAR.

But Nnadozie blocked Sinclair's tepid spot kick to trigger a huge roar from Nigerian fans.

Another Canadian chance went begging when substitute Evelyne Viens latched onto a header in the area but volleyed straight into the arms of the Nigerian keeper as the Africans stood firm to the finish.

2023 WWC: Nnadozie wins Woman of the Match in Super Falcons’ draw against Canada

Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie was adjudged the best player following her side’s 0-0 draw against Canada on Friday morning.

Nnadozie, who captained the Super Falcons against the Olympic champions, put up an impressive display in the encounter played at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

The goal tender denied veteran forward, Christine Sinclair from the spot five minutes after the break.

The Paris FC star also made a number of crucial saves in the keenly contested encounter.

Randy Waldrum’s side finished the game with 10 players after Deborah Abiodun was sent off in regulation time.

The Super Falcons will face australia at the Brisbane Stadium on Thursday, July 27.

Sports / Women World Cup; Chiamaka Nnadozie Shine As Nigeria Drew Canada by jetwonder(m): 7:02am On Jul 21, 2023
Christine Sinclair missed out on becoming the first player to score at six Fifa World Cups as Canada were held by Nigeria.

Nigeria keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie kept out Sinclair's spot-kick early in the second half as the Olympic champions were frustrated in Melbourne.

Deborah Abiodun was sent off late on for Nigeria, however they earned a point with a battling display.

Canada and Nigeria have one point in Group B, behind co-hosts australia.

The Canadians face Republic of Ireland in their next game on 26 July, after the Irish were beaten by australia on Thursday.

Their captain Sinclair went into this game aiming to make some personal history. The 40-year-old forward was making her 324th international appearance and has scored 190 goals for her country.

She is one of three players to score at five Fifa World Cups - alongside Marta and Cristiano Ronaldo - and seemed destined to make history when she was fouled inside the area by Francisca Ordega early in the second half.

Referee Lina Lehtovaara awarded the penalty after the video assistant referee intervened, however Sinclair's effort was weak and well saved by impressive Nigerian keeper Nnadozie.

Nigeria, ranked 33 places lower than Canada in the Fifa rankings, defended deep and prevented Canada from many clear chances other than the penalty.

Sinclair fired narrowly wide from the edge of the area in the first half, while Nnadozie kept out Evelyne Viens' stabbed effort in the second.

Nigeria came closest to a goal in the first half when a mistake from Canadian keeper Kailen Sheridan allowed forward Asisat Oshoala to round her, however the Barcelona forward's shot from a tight angle was well blocked by Ashley Lawrence.

VAR again intervened in the final seconds to instruct Lehtovaara to send off Abiodun for a high tackle on Lawrence, after the Finnish official originally only gave a yellow card.

However Nigeria held on to give them fresh hope of getting out of their Women's World Cup group for only the third time in nine tournaments.

Sports / Nnadozie Saves Penalty, Oshoala Caged As Nigeria Vs Canada Ends In Goalless Draw by damilola4162(m): 6:08am On Jul 21, 2023
Nigeria's goalkeeper, Chimaka Nnadozie, made a crucial save from a penalty taken by Canada's Christine Sinclair, resulting in a goalless draw between the two teams at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, Newspremises reports.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria commenced their campaign with a challenging encounter, facing early pressure as the Canadian team dominated possession and pressed forward.

In the 9th minute, Canada's Sinclair attempted a shot that narrowly missed the target. Four minutes later, Francisca Ordega displayed excellent defensive skills, blocking a Canadian charge into the box, leading to a corner that Nnadozie successfully punched away.

Nigeria's first and only shot on goal in the first half came from Ifeoma Onumonu, whose powerful effort forced a good save from Canadian goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan, pushing the ball into the corner.

Asisat Oshoala had a promising opportunity from an acute angle but failed to convert, resulting in a goalless first half.

Canada continued their attacking momentum into the second half, and just two minutes in, they were awarded a penalty after a VAR review found Ordega guilty of fouling Sinclair in the box.

Nnadozie exhibited exceptional goalkeeping skills, correctly diving to save Sinclair's penalty and then reacting swiftly to punch away the rebound attempt.

In the 69th minute, concerns arose when Nnadozie suffered an injury, but she received medical attention and bravely continued playing.

During stoppage time, Deborah Abiodun received a yellow card, which was subsequently upgraded to a red card by VAR due to a dangerous tackle.

Despite being a player down, Nigeria mounted a late surge in attack, but their efforts were thwarted by a resilient Canadian defense, leading to a final score of 0-0 at full time, leaving both teams with a draw in their opening match.

In the Group B, co-host nation, australia are top of the group with three points following their 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.

Stephanie Catley scored the only goal of that game from the spot in the 52nd minute.

Nigeria and Canada have a point each, while the Republic of Ireland are bottom of the group with zero points.

Nigeria will take on australia in their next match at the tournament on Thursday, July 27, at 11 am Nigerian time.

Sports / Australia Open Women’s World Cup With A 1-0 Win Over Ireland by kellynelly: 3:11pm On Jul 20, 2023
Rocked by the late withdrawal of sam kerr through injury, co-hosts australia took time to settle before getting off to a winning start at the Women’s World Cup by beating Ireland 1-0 in Sydney in Group B.

Steph Catley swept home a 52nd minute penalty on Thursday to end Ireland’s resistance and spark an eruption of joy from fans inside Stadium australia.

There was also no shortage of relief from the majority of the 75,784-strong crowd after the tournament co-hosts struggled to cope without the country’s all time leading scorer kerr who will also miss the second game of Group B against Nigeria because of a calf injury.

Fans learned of her absence only about an hour before kickoff, with the Chelsea striker sustaining the injury in practice on Wednesday. It is not certain she will be back to face Canada in the team’s last Group B game in Melbourne on July 31, with medical staff having to assess her recovery.

Mary Fowler, who has Irish heritage, replaced Kerr in australia’s attack, but while the Manchester City forward is a highly rated prospect, the absence of the team’s iconic captain was clear.

Kerr was considered one of the stars of the tournament and the face of the Matildas’ bid to be crowned world champions for the first time. Without her leading the attack against Ireland, australia appeared short of ideas or cutting edge.

Despite the roars of encouragement from inside the stadium, the home team rarely looked like opening the scoring in the first half. The Australians were gifted the chance to take a lead shortly after the break when Marissa Sheva bundled Hayley Raso to the ground in the area.

Referee Edina Alves pointed to the penalty spot and Catley converted by sending Ireland goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan the wrong way as she calmly finished with her left foot.

Ireland, playing their first World Cup, had beaten australia in the teams’ last meeting, winning 3-2 in a friendly in Dublin in 2021.

Cheered on by a noisy band of compatriots, Ireland made life difficult for the Australians with their compact defence and might have forced an equaliser during a period of sustained pressure late in the second half.

australia, however, held on to make a winning start to a tournament in which they feel they can be genuine contenders after wins over England, Spain and France this year.

The Matildas play Nigeria in Brisbane on July 27, a day after Ireland take on Canada in Perth.

Women's World Cup 2023: The Africans to watch

By Alasdair Howarth
Football writer

18 July 2023

Ghizlane Chebbak, Refiloe Jane, Asisat Oshoala and Barbra Banda are Africans to watch at the Women's World Cup

The Women's World Cup gets underway on 20 July, when both co-hosts - australia and New Zealand - play their opening games.

Africa will field four teams at the finals for the first time, after world governing body Fifa expanded the tournament from 24 to 32 teams.

Reigning continental champions South Africa will be joined by Nigeria, who boast nine African titles, and World Cup debutants Morocco and Zambia at the month-long tournament which ends on 20 August.

Ahead of an event where Africa has yet to break the quarter-final barrier, BBC Sport Africa profiles four key players for the continent's representatives.

Asisat Oshoala - Nigeria

Asisat Oshoala has been a key figure for Barcelona in recent years, topping 20 goals in each of the past four seasons

There is no player bigger in African women's football than Oshoala - and for good reason.

After exploding onto the international scene in 2014 when she was top scorer and best player at the Under-20 World Cup, Oshoala has consistently been one of the continent's top players.

Having won three Women's Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon), and been player of the tournament at two of them, she has also scored at both the 2015 and 2019 World Cups.

If she nets in this edition, she will become the first African to score at three Women's World Cups and may well add a record-extending sixth African Women's Footballer of the Year award to her growing trophy cabinet.

The Barcelona star comes into the World Cup after a fourth successive season hitting over 20 goals and a second straight year as top scorer for the reigning European champions.

On her day, very few defenders can cope with Oshoala, given she is the complete forward able to dominate with her strength and pace, but it's her intelligent movement both on and off the ball that makes her stand out.

Ruled out of last year's Wafcon with a knee injury picked up in the opening match, she missed May's Champions League final triumph with a hamstring injury as Barca defeated Wolfsburg, so Nigerians will hope she stays fit.

Barbra Banda - Zambia

After missing the 2022 Wafcon due to a gender eligibility row, Banda bounced back with 10 goals in five games for Zambia

Another who missed Wafcon, 23-year-old Banda is one of the most exciting talents in Africa.

The striker shocked the world in 2021 when scoring back-to-back hat-tricks at the Olympics - the first player to do so in the event's long history - prior to Zambia's group stage exit.

Yet Banda's development stalled last year when she was ruled out of Wafcon - on the eve of the tournament - after a gender eligibility row.

Despite the setback, captain Banda showed her impressive leadership skills and stayed in Morocco to lead her team to an historic third-place finish from the sidelines.

Fortunately for Banda and Zambia, she has since been given the green light to play and returned with frightening ease, scoring 10 goals in five games during September's Cosafa Cup.

As debutants, Zambia are likely to play defensively and counter-attack, and in Banda, whose searing pace can leave centre-backs for dust, they have one of the best in the business at playing on the break.

Having struck up a partnership with Racheal Kundananji, who bagged 25 goals in the Spanish top flight last season, the pair could form one of the most lethal attacks in australia and New Zealand.

Refiloe Jane - South Africa

Refiloe Jane holds the Women's Africa Cup of Nations aloft alongside Janine van Wyk

Jane is perhaps this list's most understated player, but arguably the most important to her team given the diminutive midfielder is the heartbeat of the African champions.

Central to the type of football that coach Desiree Ellis wants to play, Jane is a deep-lying playmaker for Banyana Banyana.

Sitting in front of the defence, she has a terrific passing range and controls the tempo of matches from deep, allowing South Africa's attacking talent to flourish.

Having made her competitive debut at the 2012 Olympics, Jane has featured for South Africa in every major tournament since, racking up over 100 caps.

Last year, she stepped up to co-captaining the side alongside long-time skipper Janine van Wyk - leading the side to its first Wafcon title against Morocco - but will now be the sole captain with Van Wyk out injured.

It will be a familiar return to australia, where Jane signed her first professional contract with W League side Canberra United in 2019 before moving to Italy where she now plays for Sassuolo (after a spell with Milan).

While she is unlikely to score many goals or grab any headlines, Jane will be central to South Africa's hopes as they contest the tournament for the second time.

Ghizlane Chebbak - Morocco

Captain Ghizlane Chebbak led Morocco on their historic run to the 2022 Wafcon final, helping to clinch World Cup qualification

While South Africa and Nigeria dominated headlines at last year's Wafcon, hosts Morocco truly shocked the world as they reached their first final - with Ghizlane Chebbak the star of the show.

The daughter of former men's international Larbi Chebbak, a Cup of Nations winner in 1976, Ghizlane captained the Atlas Lionesses in their first appearance at the tournament for 20 years, a run which led to their first World Cup qualification.

Leading from the front, Chebbak ended Wafcon as both joint top scorer and player of the tournament.

Despite being a midfielder, Chebbak is a natural goalscorer. Already her country's record scorer, she recently notched up a fifth season topping the scoring charts in Morocco's top division, where she has won ten straight titles with AS FAR.

In November, she led the club to their first African Champions League title, beating holders Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.

Chebbak is also a superb set-piece specialist, and whether it be a free-kick, corner or penalty, she rarely gets her delivery wrong, something which may prove invaluable for the debutants.

Often played as a number 10 or in a midfield three, Chebbak is the Atlas Lionesses' creative hub, with everything passing through her.

While she may not possess tremendous pace, her technique and decision-making in the final third make her shine.

Sports / Demystifying Sports Betting Odds: A Quick Guide by collinsraf: 1:46pm On Jul 19, 2023
Sports betting odds play a crucial role in understanding the potential outcomes and payouts of your bets. In this short article, we'll cover the main types of sports betting odds, equipping you with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions.

Decimal Odds:
Used in Europe and australia, decimal odds represent the total potential return for each unit staked. For example, odds of 2.50 mean you could potentially win 2.50 times your stake.

Fractional Odds:
Popular in the UK and Ireland, fractional odds express the potential profit relative to the stake. Odds of 3/1 mean you could make a profit of three units, in addition to getting back your original stake, for every unit staked.

American/Moneyline Odds:
In the US, American odds indicate the potential profit on a $100 wager. Positive (+) odds show the profit you could make, while negative (-) odds indicate the amount you need to bet to win $100.

Implied Probability:
Implied probability is the likelihood of an outcome based on the assigned odds. To calculate it, divide 1 by the decimal odds and multiply by 100. This percentage represents the perceived chance according to the bookmaker.

Understanding different odds types helps you evaluate the value of a bet and make informed decisions. By assessing the likelihood of an event and comparing it to the bookmaker's odds, you can identify potentially favorable bets.

Sports betting odds are essential for assessing potential outcomes and payouts. Decimal odds provide a clear understanding of potential returns, fractional odds express profit relative to the stake, and American odds offer flexibility. Additionally, understanding implied probability helps gauge the accuracy of bookmakers' assessments.

Sports / FIFA WWC: 7 players who could stop Asisat Oshoala from winning the Golden Ball by DonBabaNG: 12:50pm On Jul 16, 2023
These seven players are all that stand between Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala and the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Golden Ball

With the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup set to kick off in the next few days, many fans of Nigeria’s Super Falcons are praying for a special performance in australia and New Zealand.

If the Super Falcons are able to shock the world, Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala is expected to be central to any success, which could leave her as one of the favourites to win the competition’s Golden Ball as its best player.

Winning such an honour will certainly not come easily, as several other players will be vying for the honour, with these seven being the most likely to keep Oshoala from being named player of the tournament.

Sam Kerr — australia
The Chelsea forward will certainly enjoy playing in her home country during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and will be hoping to replicate her superb club form for australia as they look to make the best of their home advantage.

he hopes of the entire nation of australia rest on the shoulders of the Chelsea forward and the country’s all-time leading goalscorer as they aim to do better than their current best finish at the World Cup in 2007, 2011, and 2015 when they reached the quarterfinals.

Kerr has scored 62 goals for the Matildas in 120 appearances and has also scored 90 goals in 116 games since joining the Blues in 2019.

With australia seen as one of the dark horses for the trophy, Kerr could put in a Golden Ball-worthy performance to excite the home crowd.

Alexia Putellas — Spain
Spain’s Alexia Putellas is looking to return to the Spanish national team with a bang at the 2023 World Cup in australia and New Zealand.

The Barcelona midfielder suffered a horrific injury ahead of Spain’s 2022 UEFA Women’s Euros campaign, which has seen her miss most of the 2022/23 season, allowing her only six appearances at the end of the campaign to regain fitness in time for the World Cup.

Putellas, who received the 2022 Ballon d’Or Féminin and FIFA The Best Women’s Player of the Year award, is looking to regain her position at the top of the football world and will be the central figure to Spain’s squad at the World Cup.

In her last full season, she was Barcelona’s top scorer in all competitions with 34 goals in 42 games as she helped the Blaugrana to the UEFA Women’s Champions League final and LaLiga Femeino title.

Alex Morgan — USA
Title favourites The United States of America will be looking for inspired performances from the 2019 Women's World Cup’s joint-top scorer, Alex Morgan.

The USA have won the last two editions of the World Cup, in 2015 and 2019, and Morgan has scored seven goals across both tournaments.

Morgan has scored a total of nine goals at the World Cup and will be keen to add to her tally in australia and New Zealand as The Stars and Stripes aim for an incredible third World Cup win in a row.

The San Diego Wave forward was named Player of the Tournament in the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, her last involvement in a major tournament, and she could replicate that performance at the 2023 FIFA World Cup.

Lieke Martens — Netherlands
Netherlands forward Lieke Martens will have to navigate the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup without her strike partner Viviane Miedema, but this means that she will have the spotlight all to herself as the 2019 losing finalists aim to go one step further in australia.

Martens is recognised as one of the best players on the planet and was named the 2017 UEFA and FIFA Women’s Player of the Year after incredible performances with the Netherlands national team.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward led the Netherlands to their first-ever major title in 2017 as they won the UEFA Women’s Euros, with Martens named Player of the Tournament and winning the Bronze Boot.

Marta — Brazil
No player in FIFA Women’s World Cup history has scored more goals than Brazil’s Marta, who has scored 17 goals in total in 20 competition matches.

The Brazilian sensation will be heading to her sixth consecutive World Cup tournament in australia and New Zealand, but despite her advanced years, she still poses a threat for the Golden Ball award thanks to her incredible skill and drive.

The six-time FIFA Women’s Player of the Year is one of the most popular faces in the women’s game and could mark what is expected to be her last hurrah on the world stage with a performance fitting of the end of her great career with the Canarinhas.

Even with an ageing squad, Brazil are still considered one of the favourites for the tournament in australia, and they will be hoping for one last dose of Marta magic to hand them their first world title.

Alexandra Popp — Germany
Germany’s Alexandra Popp, who has lost two major finals in the space of a year, enters the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup hoping to right the wrongs of the past 365 days.

She was joint-top scorer at the 2022 Women’s Euros with six goals as Germany ultimately fell short in the final against England, and also scored twice in the final of the 2022/23 UEFA Women’s Champions League with Wolfsburg, only to see Barcelona make a stunning comeback to secure a 3-2 win.

Her recent form perhaps deserves more silverware than it has gotten, and Germany will be pinning their hopes on the dominant striker producing another exhibition to help them wrestle the World Cup trophy from the grasp of the USA.

Caroline Graham Hansen — Norway
Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen, like her teammate Alexia Putellas, missed a large part of the 2022//23 season, but when fit, the Norwegian forward showed the world what she was capable of, leaving zero doubts about her talents.

The swift and skilful winger entered Barcelona’s season late on and was one of the driving forces behind their push to a second UEFA Women’s Champions League title in the last three years.

Graham Hansen put up incredible performances in the crucial part of the 2022/23 season, scoring in both legs of Barcelona’s UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinal against Chelsea and putting up another superb performance in the final against Wolfsburg, assisting one of the Blaugrana’s three goals.

The 28-year-old forward has entered fine form just in time for the World Cup and could be key for Norway, alongside Ada Hegerberg, in the Grasshopper’s hopefully long competition run.

Sports / Understanding Sports Betting Odds: A Comprehensive Guide by collinsraf: 11:09am On Jul 15, 2023
Sports betting is an exhilarating activity enjoyed by millions of enthusiasts around the world. One of the fundamental aspects of sports betting is understanding the odds. Whether you are new to sports betting or looking to enhance your knowledge, this article will provide you with a comprehensive guide to sports betting odds.

What Are Sports Betting Odds?
Sports betting odds represent the probability of a specific outcome occurring in a sporting event. They also determine the potential payout you could receive if your bet is successful. Odds are typically presented in three formats: decimal odds, fractional odds, and American (moneyline) odds.

Decimal Odds:
Decimal odds are widely used in Europe and australia. They are presented as a decimal number, such as 2.50. This number represents the total amount you would receive, including your original stake, for each unit bet. For instance, if you wagered $10 at odds of 2.50, a winning bet would yield a total payout of $25.

Fractional Odds:
Fractional odds are commonly used in the UK and Ireland. They are expressed as fractions or ratios, like 3/1 or 5/2. The first number indicates the potential profit you could make, while the second number represents the stake. For example, if you bet $10 at odds of 3/1, a successful bet would result in a profit of $30, in addition to getting back your initial $10 stake.

American (Moneyline) Odds:
American odds, prevalent in the United States, are represented as positive or negative numbers. Positive odds indicate the potential profit on a $100 wager, while negative odds show the amount you need to bet to win $100. For instance, +200 odds mean you could potentially earn a profit of $200 on a $100 bet, while -150 odds imply that you must wager $150 to win $100.

Implied Probability:
Implied probability is an essential concept in sports betting. It refers to the perceived likelihood of an outcome based on the odds provided by bookmakers. To calculate implied probability, divide 1 by the decimal odds and multiply by 100. For example, if the odds are 2.50, the implied probability would be 40%.

Evaluating Value:
Understanding odds is crucial for evaluating the value of a bet. By comparing your own assessment of the likelihood of an outcome with the implied probability of the odds, you can identify bets that offer favorable value. Finding value bets is an important skill for long-term success in sports betting.

Factors Influencing Odds:
Sports betting odds are determined by bookmakers, who consider various factors such as team performance, player injuries, historical data, and public sentiment. It's essential to stay informed about these factors and understand their impact on odds.

Sports betting odds are a fundamental component of the betting process. Understanding different odds formats, calculating potential payouts, and evaluating value are essential skills for any sports bettor. By grasping the intricacies of odds, you can make more informed betting decisions and enhance your overall betting experience.

Remember, sports betting involves risk, and no outcome is guaranteed. Use odds as a tool in conjunction with your own analysis and knowledge of the sport to increase your chances of success. Happy betting!
