Crime / Re: Police Admit Killing Barrister Elias Ugwu In Error by seborrhic: 9:02am On Mar 15
He was simply murdered pure and simple
How do you shoot dead an unarmed person, even if it's a suspected armed robber?
In every other sane clime in the world,it's termed murder, but of course we are in Nigeria where anything goes.

Make sure you hear from the man before taking any step. Girl wey don go hawk kpekus outside the country can't be this naive with an old man in Nigeria.

My two cent.
Even if she hasn't travelled out.
A girl of that age,not being fed,not earning money and sleeps in the shop tells you that kind of story and you naively believed her.
Unless the girl has a mental or physical handicap that makes her unable to do anything,I doubt this story.
But stranger things have happened in Nigeria,so who knows this could be one of the bizarre but real stories heard in Nigeria.

See.
That is why sometimes people call for the regulation of the SM and why every social media post must be carefully scrutinized and reliable media also checked before one makes a judgement.
The surgery was actually done in the long run,but she is said to have died after, from this more detailed report.Maybe from complications or late presentation.

DANGOTE OWES YOU NO EXPLANATION.

IT IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS.

IF HE SUPPLIES, FINE.

IF HE DOESN’T SUPPLY, FINE.

FACE YOUR FRONT.
It's not strictly so.
NNPC and thus the Nigerian government and people has about 20% stake in it.
So it's our right to know.
Besides, the crude oil NNPC sold to the refinery should be accounted for.
You cannot buy crude oil from NNPC at suspected discounted price and maybe in Naira dedicated for refining products, then go to the backyard and sell it at the international market for a profit(Just hypothesis).

Agriculture / Re: Please How Much Can A 3 Acres Of Cassava Farm Generate? by seborrhic: 2:28pm On Mar 13
01mcfadden:
I just started mine, too.
I’ve acquired 20 acres for 10 years at #400k
But my intention is to use the money I earmarked to it to the full extent it will go on the land.
I want to make sure it enters 10 acres and I can expand later when I get more money.
The labor will cost money. The guy I brought from Togo is asking for a brand new Bajaj motorcycle after a year.
But he will be the one taking care of the farm while I provide food and shelter close to the farm. That has been sorted.

My plan is to process it to garri, elubo, lafu, pupuru and even fufu.
I pray God help me o
I’ll still create a thread on the progress made.
From the farm proceeds you would buy him a Bajaj motorcycle of almost 800k still pay his rent and feed him. From what profit I like to ask?
People saying 20 acres should give you 2-3m,I just laugh.
Farming can be unpredictable and volatile.
Has transport of the harvest been factored, has loss been factored, has maybe emergency purchase of pesticide or other unexplained expenses been factored.
The same way there was a rave of people making millions from investing in rice farming and other farms about 3-4 years ago.
People rushed expecting to double their money in 6months,only to discover it was a glorified Ponzi scheme.
You may make it,but just open your mind to possibilities and challenges that may also ruin one.
If all these farming was that lucrative and straightforward, you got to ask yourself while many more people are not into it

The damages tinubu government have done to Nigerians in less than one year in office is beyond repair.
One dindirin that is a top most banker and industralist says Tinubu is on the right track.
Sometimes I wonder how people like that reached the top industrial and banking heights they have reached when every economist knows that less construction, less sales, less fuel consumption and use are primary indicators of a shrinking economy.
So someone overseeing the shrinking of the economy and thus the things that follow it,is on the right track according to Elumelu

Crime / Re: Father Of Four, Chris Ozobia Commits Suicide In Enugu by seborrhic: 10:09pm On Mar 08
The hardship is real.
Businesses are collapsing, people are struggling to feed themselves talkless of family.
Imagine a situation where you have to spend 3 times what you are used to to feed, twice to transport, and twice to pay bills.
You are cumulatively looking at a situation where your cumulative expenses have increased by about 10times and your income(if you are lucky to have any) has remained the same or even diminished.
10times additional expenses is just unbearable and unattainable for many,so frustration and depression set in and if you are not string enough, you start entertaining thiughts of suicide.
But leaving his kids is a poor decision because if not for anything else,he should have looked at the kids and soldiered on.

How is Nigeria back on track when subsidy is being paid from the backdoor,at a far expense than even during PMB's time and the Naira massive depreciation has caused massive inflation?
Or massive inflation and unaffordabiity of food and goods are good economic indices?

Porn has always been there.
SM and specifically smart phones just made it more accessible.
Right from days of cassette videos to CD's then DVD's porn videos used to be sold in different formats over the ages.
People used to go buy them then when CD's and DVD's where the rave, then watch at home.
But now with data you can watch anytime, anywhere.
Phones and SM are the only difference.

Yet,Tinubu is allowed to still occupy the seat, despite our worst economic and living crisis and despite our worst kidnapping crisis since 1914.
We are not ready yet as a country for good governance. When we are people know what to do,otherwise no one should expect things to get better, instead it will be worse so long he occupies that seat.

Keep comparing yourself,
This is how depression begins for you.
It will end with sniper and hell fire.
That's ehn,you couldn't have put it more succinctly.
Comparing oneself with mates can only lead to sure depression.Such is the nature of life, fortune smiles on different people differently.Even amongst well off, there are others you would see you would then feel that despite your doing ok,you start seeing yourself as a failure.
When for eg,osimhein was growing up in Nigeria going to play football with torn boots and torn or ill fitting, dirty jersey, there were people in the neighbourhood that took him as nothing or used to give him money for biscuit, mineral or pure water. His mates may have gone to school, acquired a degree, started working and he would go and eat food or beg them for small change to eat.Even his Nigerian club mates may have been better off than him,but still stuck in Nigeria, earning peanuts.
None of them can even come near where he is now, unless he wants to humble himself to see them.
Almost all of them would today be begging him to send them small money or help them with one financial challenge or the other, things he can easily solve with just a week's or even just a day's wages for all their problems!
Do they now get depressed seeing the small boy of yesterday is now so stupendously rich and famous?
Even greats like Okocha,Aiyegbeni,Oruma when they were playing football, osimhein was still probably in primary school thinking of where the next food will come from.
Now he may have more assets and properties than them and earning far more than they ever earned throughout their whole careers.
Will they see osimhein and be carrying face or get depressed that they played earlier when financial rewards wasn't this much? No.

Don't see what is wrong with the loan.
It's not as if it's free and there is a express proviso that it can only be disbursed on authorisation by the ABSG.
Some today billionaires with no family connection to bank owners have been given loans on far more favorable terms that this one granted to Wigwe's wife.
Ok,just saw that one of the worrying issues is that there was no specification of the exact roads to be constructed and their contract sums.

Economic reality trumping age long cultural and religious belief and practices.
Very soon they would be forced to sanction same sex marriages.
Lesbianism is not a good practice but tolerable giving realities on the ground, but being gay is just abhorrent.
Many female adults today that attended boarding school performed lesbian acts, then became addicted and continued after they passed out,but many male adults in same sex boarding school rather broke school hours to go looking for girls to f uck outside their boarding schools,so you wonder where this gay thing in Africans arose from.

Interest rate should infact be reduced drastically to boost productivity.
CBN unfortunately like many Nigerian institutions swallow every policy statement from world Bank and IMF without factoring the fact that those textbook prescriptions and projections don't usually work in our peculiar economic environment.

Food / Re: Are some retailers deliberately hiking prices? Whats happening In Nigeria? by seborrhic: 7:50pm On Feb 29
RepoMan007:
That's what happens when a trade is oversaturated. Instead of 100 mega stores selling groceries, 1000 road side stalls are, and everyone wants to make enough to cover their needs. They have to hike prices of goods they sell.
The reasonable thing will be for some of the hands doing retailing to move closer to the wholesale and production part of the whole product life cycle.

Instead of risking going into farming and start making reasonable amount of money, they form a union, regulate prices and continue with their lives. The end users suffer the cost.
This analysis is upside down.
The increased number of shops or businesses engaging in the same trade should drive prices down.

Good day Nairalanders,

On the 16th of this month, I created this thread about First Bank criminality of stealing 18k from my account

https://www.nairaland.com/8002695/please-how-recover-money-first

Currently, i have been admitted to the psychiatric hospital because of this bank and the emotional stress they put me thru.

I was acting irrationally and abnormally which my family noticed and had to rush me to the hospital.

Let it be known that if anything happens to me, First Bank MUST be held responsible.

Thanks and God bless
Your family has money to take you to a psychiatric hospital but can't refund you back your 18k?
Do some of you even read what you fabricate or your just believe you would meet at least one gullible soul that would believe your rubbish fabrications.
You are in a psychiatric hospital but still has access to your phone and can still type well.
Just come out directly to beg than all these pathetic lies.

All he had to do was register his fingerprint on her phone to unlock her bank app(Opay, Zenith or anybank) or reset her password and pin using otp then transferd the money to her opay then reset her opay pin with same otp method b4 applying for card through any nearby agent(who should be arrested because the opay agent should know better that the account information is that of a female but maybe the aboki guy used a female to get the card) after which he withdrew the money.

Always lock your sim card and your phone and also don't use fingerprint in unlocking your bank apps or any app you consider private.
Use his own fingerprint to unlock her own account?
You go school so or you didn't read what you typed.

Pls drop further.
No reasonable person wants to see depreciation because it caused a lot of turmoil.
The things blabulu should have done before floating the Naira he is now trying to do after causing severe haemorrhage with his callous, nonsensical statements and policies.
Nigeria and its currency CANNOT withstand the severe damage a free floating of its currency will cause.
Assuming minimum wage in all sectors was about 100k from present 21k or 30k and the average earner was on 450-500k salary, then a free float would have sailed through and be absorbed
