Business / Re: Naira: Concerns Over Fresh Threat From Crypto Traders by seborrhic: 12:47pm On Apr 21 |
Saturnalia:Infact that is the part that is baffling. I for one believe without a doubt that Obi would have made a better president and was actually even rigged out.Atiku too was a preferable option than Babablublu, but for anyone to support the speculation that Crypto guys were doing and to be rejoicing over the then drastic and quickening devaluation of the ₦,is beyond comprehension, should not and cannot be encouraged unless u live abroad or are a crypto currency speculator. Therefore, any measure(s) taken by this goverment,no matter how hated Tinubu is,to reverse the depreciation and restore the value of the ₦ is supported 110%! 12 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Nigeria To Become Africa’s Fourth Largest Economy In 2024 – IMF by seborrhic: 7:55am On Apr 21 |
The correct headline for this news should be:'Nigeria down to Africa's 4th largest economy' or 'Nigeria slips to...4th largest economy'. The use of become in this context is improper because it conveys a positive growth, whereas the news item shows that the economy will retrogress from the lofty first place it held some years back. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Clowns. What of Akpabio,Wike. I don't believe any governor living, except perhaps Ibori, would rival any of these 2 in blanket state theft. Yet,they are walking free and enjoying further lootocracy because they are in the good books of APC. I feel it's that hypocritical mindset that gave Bello the guts to do what he did, feeling haunted while he sees his superiors in corruption walking the corridors of Aso Rock. |

What I just see in some of the responses is people wishing the ₦ continues doing badly and sad it's doing well. How can any sensible person living and earning within Nigeria in ₦ wish and hopes the ₦ continues sliding? This one just beats my comprehension. That's a whole new level of depravity. For some others asserting that this appreciation would soon lead to the wiping offf of our foreign reserves because they believe that is what the CBN is using to prop up the Naira, the question they should answer is this:does it mean Nigeria hasn't been earning any foreign exchange during these time and won't earn more as the days and months go by? 3 Likes 1 Share |

LegendHero:Even if one is not a fan or supporter of Tinubu, the bolded is the is just the part that's annoying, that anyone living in Nigeria will be happy to see the ₦ depreciate in value is astounding. You can understand diaspora Nigerians wishing it's continued depreciation because it increases the purchasing power of their $ and £ and makes them tingods in Nigeria, but a Nigerian in Nigeria happy that your earnings in naira are depreciating at an alarming rate?Just unbelievable. 5 Likes |
Politics / Re: Yahaya Bello: Court Restrains EFCC From Arresting ex-Kogi Governor by seborrhic: 7:32pm On Apr 17 |
Standard template by state governments/governors. Anytime they or their allies are being investigated or their allies about to be arrested and prisecuted, they run to their state courts and procure kangaroo judgements. Just that I know all these are shadow dressings by the EFCC because after all the noise and even subsequent arrest of Bello, nothing meaningful will come out from the case they have against him. I always liked the Obasanjo template, get these shitty governors impeached and their corrupt allies hounded. |

Politics / Re: BREAKING: Dangote Crashes Diesel To N1,000 Per Litre by seborrhic: 10:20pm On Apr 16 |
This will go a long way to help the economy, though a less than ₦1000/litre diesel price would have been more ideal. If he starts producing petrol and can sell in the local market at max 500 and even less, that will be a game changer because asides reducing and stabilising prices,it would lead to further appreciation in the value of the Naira to less than even 900,800. A stronger naira is of benefit to not just the common man,but industries and businesses because they would use less naira to source much needed raw materials and machinery. Another thing is that the BUA refinery and even other modular ones should also come on board. Dangote has a very poor history in prices of his products if he enjoys monopoly. 1 Like |

Education / Re: Parents, Doctors' Negligence contributed to Sylvester Oromoni's Death - Coroner by seborrhic: 5:06pm On Apr 16 |
phineas:Right from the day the story broke last year,it should have been clear to discerning minds, not just from a medical standpoint, but from facts surrounding the case, that those boys couldn't have killed oromoni. I remember after the initial outcry on SM,raised by the mum's accusations, other facts now started emerging,eg,from initial story that seemed like he died immediately after the " forced intake of a liquid substance",it later emerged that the parents came down, took him to PH,brought their doctor to treat at home, for typhoid and malaria,as is common with Nigerian "bigmen/women",it's even usually nurses they call because a well trained professional doctor would decline home treatment;they then took him to their church and their pastor do what they usually do,casting out the "devil of every demonic spirit",with likely strikes on his body and placing his hand on the sick boys head while shaking it up and down. After a few days, with the internal mileau deteriorating because he wasn't properly diagnosed and treated,he succumbed to his underlying disease. This is what probably even a blind course of broad-spectrum antibiotics and infusion would have prevented, but no,innocent kids must be made the culprits. It's the same scenario that was being played out in Mohbad's case, innocent people being accused of death by bullying. Tell me where has a healthy young man died not from suicide but as a direct result of bullying? When that didn't make sense, they found other culprits. As I said,it's because we are in a jungle,if not,2 things would have happened in a civilised clime in this Oromoni case after this verdict: (1)The parents of the 5 accused and now probably emotionally scarred for life kids would have instituted a civil lawsuit against the parents of oromoni for false accusation,SM bullying and emotional trauma of their children, demanding for at least ₦100m each. 2,the police would have had them arrested and prisecuted for the coroner's verdict of negligence. Also the family doctor would have been advised sanctioned by the medical and dental Council tribunal for unprofessional conduct. If we don't do these things, innocent people would continue being falsely accused and bullied by the SM court of Justice and believe me one day,an innocent people with low defence barrier would commit suicide from such false accusation. 1 Like |

Didn't know Nigeria still has this calibre of erudite judges. The verdict is on point. With the kinds of nonsensical rulings judges in the appeal and even SC are delivering, this judge is being wasted at the the level he is. The only area of disagreement I find with the judge is that he may have considered the state of mind of the parents for him to have been a bit soft on them. The parents negligence was largely to blame for their son's death and their actions of deception and intimidation on SM has left 5 innocent kids probably traumatized for life. Who is going to compensate the 5 kids alive for the enormous psychological trauma the accusations of oromini's parents has made them go through? P.S,Falana is a disgrace. Instead of accepting this well thought out judgement,he is disgracing himself by finding childish issues with the judgement. Falana is just like SERAP:they always want to stay relevant and important for clients by making all sorts of silly noises and bringing up laughable issues and cases. 2 Likes |

Someone categorically told deluded fans to keep their dollar. I am no fan of Tinubu but anyone that was celebrating and hoarding dollars so as to see the ₦ continue making that alarming and shocking slide early this year is a self centred, selfish I diot that should be called out. Even if ₦ is to depreciate, let it be due to lack of proper economic activity and not due to the workings of speculators and Bitcoin traders who were sitting in their rooms or hotels with their phones, drinking, smoking and doing ping pong with the ₦ as if they were playing video games. The rate the Naira was sliding then, left to those sets of miscreants,it would have reached 3k/$ by now! 157 Likes 20 Shares |

The SS states are cursed, all, except Edo, relatively. Rivers and Delta have consistently the most corrupt governors since 1999. Odili started the maniacal looting in Rivers and other governors have tried their best to follow in his footsteps. Fubara will do his own looting and if he falls out with his successor will also have his stolen properties confiscated. It's a vicious cycle in Rivers. |

navyseal2220:Didn't even know you have explained the situation and how fake the story is,asides being watery. That's part of the reason we still underdeveloped, one person wakes up and attributes a death or mishap to something unrealistic but was already ingrained in his/her mind and goes on to broadcast it as the fact. Left to many Nigerians,Naira Marley for eg,that wasn't in the country when mohbad died, would have been burnt alive as the culprit of his death. |

Rubbish story, rubbish blog. Expired drugs are dangerous, but don't kill swiftly(if they do at all) like they are cyanide that once you take you die within minutes. It's also quite unlikely and unbelievable that same expired drugs would kill 3 adults with differing body constitution. |

Politics / Re: When Will Peter Obi Come Clean To His Followers That Election Was Free And Fair by seborrhic: 1:44pm On Apr 09 |
I feel the question should rather be directed at Tinubu. Just like YarAdua did when he won his election, Tinubu should come out and acknowledge the election was not totally free and fair. Obi was massively and blatantly outrigged in Rivers by Wike. Same but to lesser degrees in Benue and Plateau states. Even Lagos where he won,the margin was factually greater. When people like the Op see the truth but prefer to live with the lies, how can Nigeria get better? 2 Likes |
