The Nigerian military has reacted to a photo published on the front page of Daily Trust newspaper today which showed a soldier torturing a man in Mararaba, Nassarawa state over the weekend. According to a statement by the army, the soldiers have been identified and will face disciplinary actions. The army press statement below...

The attention of Nigerian Army has been drawn to a front page photograph of some soldiers maltreating a suspected robber at Mararraba, Nasarawa State, on the front page of today’s edition of Daily Trust newspaper. Sadly, it is also trending on the Social Media. There is no doubt the photograph has done incalculable damage to the image of the service. The act was unfortunate and at variance with military ethics and professionalism.
The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the public that the perpetrators of the offence have been identified, summoned and would face disciplinary action.he Army has also reached out to the management of the newspaper over this poor and worrisome editorial judgement by giving this misdemeanour prominence in their paper. Alerting appropriate Nigerian Army authorities would have been a better option that will be met with prompt response. We wish to assure the public that the Nigerian Army would continue to protect and respect human rights and that this regrettable incidence should not be used as a yardstick to judge the entire Army.

It is just some mystic bigger than what you think. I used to be like you (seeing things @face values) until I stumbled upon what it is all about. Forget today's results, Mancity, Man U and Chelsea won't win the EPL this season. I stand by my words still. You don't know what I know so you won't understand what's happening. At a point in time during the course of the season many teams if not all will feel fatique even eventual winner but some teams are more prone to fatique than others.



Welbeck has been injured through the pre -season, Wilshere 2 Months even before the season starts, Sanchez too.

Sanchez can play a full season without being injured. There is good backup for Arsenal in all dept if injury occurs. Rotation also gives room for rest for Arsenal players. Check Arsenal bench and you will be surprised at the quality you will find. Gone are the days when January was bad market for Arsenal. Liverpool also has done well in the market and (bet me) they will surpise a lot of people for the title. Chelsea, Man United and Man City will all vie for the 3rd and 4th spot.

Comparing about 4 matches dat arsenal played in pre season to 38 matches in the league is just dumb.

You knoow nothing about analysis brother...No offence! Except you are as blind as a bat,you will agree with me that Chelsea lacks strength in depth. They played the community shield and now their first match today. Both matches didn't look like they can cause trouble to even Tottenham on a good day. 38 matches is a long way but it starts counting from 1! Manchester United on their own really don't have that cutting edge yet to out-muscle teams really. Man City,well I don't even wanna go there

I don't see any of the two Manchester clubs causing much of a trouble this season for contenders, neither do I see Chelsea proving a tough opposition this season too. Arsenal has had a good pre-season n ended with the community shield triumph over Chelsea. Liverpool also had a good pre-season with fine displays from the Nigerian Ibe.These two clubs will challenge eachother for the title this season but my head tells me Arsenal will clinch it. But if they fail to do so, Liverpool will win it

I kept asking myslef what could have led to such a demonic act and what dumbfounded me the most was the unremorsreful look on the teenage boy's face.
