FamilyRe: What Is It Like To Have A Brother? by Secretz(f): 5:11pm On Dec 09, 2009
I have  older bros and just one younger (only by some years), the affect it had on me all my life was:

I was a tomboy til about 19 years old (sometimes you still see the tomboyishness).
I played football (soccer) and was heavily into athletics
They threated me like a 'boy' (hardening me up, pushing me around)
Always got boy gifts for christmas and birthdays
Was heavily into boyish cartoons (transformers, He-man, thundercats etc).

But I love em all to death!!! They are not as protective as they used to be, instead I'm more protective over them. They would take beatings for me when we were younger and I was tooo bloody spoilt by them and daddy (R.I.P)  . . . .  I am tryin very hard to rid of this 'spoiltness'.   tongue  tongue  tongue

I've never really been able to understand this either, but I really don't believe any man can be 'stolen'. I do believe, however, more often than not in cases like this, the same way you got him is the same way you'll lose him.
when you over pamper your kids just because you suffered deprivation yourself as a kid, you may think you are showering love on them but in reality you are only stocking up trouble for the future.
I agree, and there are those that over spoil their only child to the point of rotten, making them handicapped to themselves later on in life.

FamilyRe: How Much Is Too Much by Secretz(f): 12:03pm On Nov 30, 2009
It depends on his pocket. But seriously if he is not earning alot then he can always save for some months before popping the question. For me, as long as the ring is REAL, will LAST and most importantly I really LOVE IT, then am all good. tongue

I don't think beating a child to unconsciousness is a corrective measure either, but jst wickedness. That should not be adviced. But correcting the child with love as u said, teaching them to know what is wrong and right. Frown at every wrong thing they do and praise them when they do it right.
Today's Government shifted so many right to the kids that parents see themselves in a position of tolerating and enduring whatever attitude their kids exhibit, be it right or wrong. Many parents are now scared to rebuke or chastise their kids, becoz their nearest neighbour(an enemy) might report them of child abuse.
You are soo right. Everyone knows that beating a child near unconsciousness is pure evil, that should not even be basis for analysis. However, imagine an actual television debate on how giving your child a smack on the hand can be considered as abuse. Alot of parents put up with alot from their kids today even to the point of being scared to even 'talk' to them, you get stupid professionals bringing out the 'social worker' and 'childline' contact details.

secretz it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic, but i happen to learn in church 2day that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. and your comments is a little bit too suggestive.
I am sorry, but I cannot be blamed for the population of simpletons on this forum. I actually wonder where some of your minds travel, because my comment 'suggested' and was joking about 'bribing' me, not paying me for services I do not offer. So please, with all that church talk, carry go, abeg.

I do agree though with Chaircover on you'd know in your gut if he loves you. Then again. . .many people don't listen to their guts cheesy
Oh dear, you sabi correct about that one.

@ OP. One thing I've come to experience, witness and KNOW is that when you're about to get married, you should be 'sure' within yourself that things are 'right'. Do not get me wrong, you will have disagreements etc, but when 'doubt' and 'uncertainty' crops up, even in the slightest, you have to take a step back and really think. undecided
