One of us wanted to sell a house he spent above 20m to develop in Bauchi. No one opted to buy it. He begged his friend who is a native of the state and who can afford it. The man came to the house, went round and offered him N500k. Our brother thought he was joking. But the Alhaji meant it. He asked our brother, did you come to Bauchi with any land? He entered his car and zoomed off. Chai!

Christianity EtcRe: We Will Defend Ourselves, Churches, Homes Against Boko Haram - Adeboye by seenoevil1: 5:39pm On Jan 30, 2012
At last, the highly respected Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has broken his silence over the incessant attack on Christians, their homes and places of worship by the Boko Haram, an Islamic sect in the North Eastern part of the country.

Several homes and churches had been burnt and Christians have been killed in their hundreds by the sect and the most unforgettable one was the attack on the worshippers at a Roman Catholic Church in Mandalla, Niger state where no fewer than 48 lives have been confirmed dead.

The Cleric, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has read a Riot Act to the sect warning its members to stop attacking Christians, their homes and churches or face the consequences. "We are not allowed to burn mosques or kill people of other religious beliefs but d Bible says we are allowed to Defend ourselves, churches, homes. 'Be gentle as a dove but Wise as a Serpent'", Adeboye posted on his Face Book wall yesterday.

This position tallies with the resolve of the Christian leaders in the North who met recently in Abuja where they vowed never to attack anyone but tasked their members to defend themselves, their homes and the churches against any further attack.

At the meeting a fire-spitting cleric (name withheld) whose church is located in Area One, Abuja was asked to teach on the position of the Bible on religious intolerance.

The Pastor, according to an eye witness, took his audience from the Old Testament to the New where he cited how Christians were able to defend themselves against any unprovoked attack.

"We need to remind these murderers that Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, is both the Lamb of God who took away our sins and the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is the Lamb to us but Lion against our foes. And more importantly, the roaring of a lion is purposely for the territorial protection. We used to run before but henceforth we run no more," the Pastor decleared.

"We used to run away before but henceforth we would stand to defend ourselves, our families and the church of God against any attack. No religion has a monopoly of violence. They were asking us to quit the North, to where? Do they think all the Christians in the North are non-indigenes? We are going nowhere, every church has been asked to provide adequate security to its members during the hours of worship and they leaders were charged to protect their families wherever they are located, "the Abuja based pastor who was at the meeting disclosed.

Incredible. Was it really FFK that wrote this? I actually kept checking on the name of the writer to make sure that it was not Kongi himself.
The summary of what he was saying is this, IBB shut the F up. Because you took a bullet 40 something years ago , is that why we must die in the name of onenness? IBB shut the f up.  2 out of 3 British contraptions have gone the natural way why do you think that Nigeria is different? IBB shut the f up. As much as you and your Northern brethren keep seeing the rest of Nigerria as conquered territory that an Ijaw man will not rule except under your dictates, to your tents oh Israel.

Of course many folks including the world powers have realised the mistake of not standing on Aburi but few are bold enough to vocalise it like FFK did here. He spoke for himself and not for the SW. If actually this is the position of the SW, then raproachment between east and west will be faster.

I stand for cooperation between east, west and middlebelt like he propounded here to throw off the yoke of the born-to-rule masters first if they continue opposing an SNC or other peaceful means of split. After that, everybody can answer his father's name or live together anyway they agree. Else, the divide and rule strategy of the North against the south will continue being their nemesis. It has been perfected by them: was used to defeat Aburi and  Biafra and is seriously being used by some northern agents here on NL.
DON'T FALL FOR IT , TRUST ME .

I love the message and I don't care who the messanger was. All I care is who he has become and the content of his write up as regards what is at stake in this dungeon called Nigeria. Can we simply assume he has turned a new leaf and now ready to champion this move, until proven otherwise. Some of the world's greatest activists were once a sell out to the course they later die fighting for in their lives. I respect the writer, atleast for one thing, he has the courage to say it!

The big problem with the south is lack of unity born out of greed, egoticism, and poor ethnic reprentatives, who are supporse to be working as one. Here is an opportunity for the south to protest in unison with placards saying ''WE WANT THE NORTH GONE!'' and ''WE ARE REPUBLIC OF SOUTHERN NIGERIA!''

The president is helpless and can't be the voice for the southern disintegration, we need to help him convey this message to the world, we need to set the track for him, and you'll be surprised how smooth he'll ride along. Please Igbos and the Yorubas we need to swallow whatever differences we have and champion this course as one people. We need eachother, even though our pride tells us otherwise.

The Middle-belt and the south-south awaits you[Yoruba & Igbo] to set the ball rolling!

''REPUBLIC OF SOUTHERN NIGERIA'' is now.

when IBB is ready let him go and tell the northern elite to proceed with whatever plan they have "cooked up" against good luck . If they fail , they would all be rounded up and annihilated and that would result to an uprising in the North . On the other hand if they succeed (God forbid) Then the whole Nigeria would burn down because back in 1966 it was a single region against about 4 others plus international mercenaries but now it would be like WWE's royal rumble , No friend , Just Total chaos .

There are 2 options staring at the face of Nigerians .

1. Sovereign National conference = peaceful separation  = save lives

2. One Nigeria = A bucket of gasoline waiting for a brainless power hungry "born to rule" region to throw in a lit matchstick into it = total chaos = Millions of lives lost / 2 or 3 decades of war .

Honest , political analysts like Soyinka , Ben Akabueze to name a few have seen the signs and are pushing for SNC but dumb Nigerian's hiding under the umbrella of being "peaceful" would rather pray and fast and manage the country hoping that one day the country would change by itself and we would all live "happily ever after"

2 things:
First, it will take some time to ever again witness another charismatic, well balanced, emotionally intelligent, most articulate and a strong experienced leader in Nigeria as IBB.
Second, IBB may just be the only entity in Nigeria today that has the stamina/capability to quickly resolve the despicable scenario Nigerians are currently experiencing in Nigeria.

IBB today, IBB tomorrow, IBB forever!

While reading yesterdays the nation newspaper(page 62) , I came across the report that tension is in Akure , Ondo as the Yoruba peoples congress gave the police a 7 day ultimatum to apprehend a Fulani cattle rearer who chopped off the hand of a certain Mr Deji Adeleye while trying to behead him . so i checked the nation website today hoping to find the news but i couldn't find the article , however i found the story regarding what led to the tension in Akure , Ondo state .

A Fulani herdsman has chopped off the right hand of Mr. Deji Adeleye in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
It was learnt that Adeleye, a roadside vulcanizer in Ayedun Quarters, and some car wash owners had warned the herdsmen to stop grazing their cows in their business premises and littering the place with dung, but the herdsmen remained adamant.
On the day of the incident, sources said Adeleye angrily chased the cows out of the premises.
An eye witness, Mr. Ajayi Olorunlogbon, said the herdsman came back when many people had left the premises and cut off Adeleye’s hand with a sword.
Adeleye, who is on admission at a private hospital in Akure, said: “The herdsman moved stealthily towards me and drew out his sword with the intention to behead me. I raised up my hand to protect my head, but had my hand chopped off.”

@OP i was about 2 post the same topic , NOTICE HE MENTIONS NOTHING ABOUT BOKO HARAM AND HE CLAIMS WE ARE ALL LIVING PEACEFULLY  . HERE IS THE COMPLETE SPEECH FROM DAILY TRUST

Former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida yesterday said he could fight another war to defend Nigeria’s unity having done so previously.

Babangida said this yesterday in Abuja while speaking as Chairman of the Occasion at the 9th Daily Trust Annual Dialogue, organised by Media Trust Limited, publishers of the Trust newspaper titles.
“You see in this country we fought the war for almost three years for the benefit of living together. I have a bullet in my body, so nobody will talk to me about secession or breaking away. If you do, I would always say yes, get my tailor to take my measurement, get on my khaki and go back to fight a war to keep this country together even at 71. We fought a war before,” the 71-year-old former military ruler said, referring to the Civil War of 1967-70.

Babangida said he fought during the Civil War just to ensure that the country remained united and that he was now ready to join another war for the same purpose.

He was speaking with reference to recent claims by some South-South leaders that there were plots by a section of the country to eliminate President Goodluck Jonathan and that Nigeria would break should anything happen to him.

“Some people are saying that should anything happen to President Jonathan, forget about Nigeria, and so on. I have seen a lot of these. I know those who are saying this. Yes, they are supporters of the president. But I know the president is a sensible person, so don’t waste your time saying that the world would come to an end if something happens to our son. Of course, he is our president and he is your son. He is our president.”

“I have always respected these people. But these things these days amaze me. These are same people that went to school, people who went to universities, people that are educated and people who have held positions of responsibilities,” he added.

Babangida described certain developments in the political life of this country as “Doctrine of Nigeria’s Settled Issues,” and that nobody should attempt to tamper with them. These are Nigeria’s unity, its Republican constitution, the states as federating units and the capitalist orientation of the economy.

“This is what I referred to as Doctrine of Nigeria’s Settled Issues. Number one, I don’t want every one of us to tamper with anything to do with Nigerian unity. Number two, republican constitution is also a settled issue, more or less. Number three, the states are the federating units of this country and number four, we are a capitalist country,” he said.

“Anybody that wants to talk about this country must make sure that he doesn’t do anything that will disrupt these basic settled issues in our political life,” he added. Anybody that is talking about the dismembering of this country, you should not listen to him,” he added.

This year’s edition of the Daily Trust Annual Dialogue was held with the theme “Media and Politics.”

Babangida said the media has a great role in promoting unity and mutual understanding among Nigerians.

“The media has a great role to play. There is need for the media to complement the fundamental struggle and fundamental values that would make us live in peace with one another. They have a role of domesticating our values for the benefit of our country,” he said.

He said there was no conflict between Christians and Muslims in the country as being portrayed by the foreign media and there was nothing like Muslim North and Christian South, as the peoples of the country live together peacefully.

“I believe there pt]will be no conflict between Christians and Muslims, North and South. There is also no such phrases like Muslim North and Christian South. Where ever you go in this country, you will find out that there are Muslims and Christians living peacefully together. You will find out there are Christians in the North and it is the same in the South,” Babangida said.

He urged the media to be vigilant to avoid getting entrapped into false pretences, saying “if we see such things like Christian south, Muslim north, we should disregard it. Even if such people say it, the media should ignore it because you know it is not the truth; so you should not even write it.”

Yesterday’s event was also attended by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, who represented Senate President David Mark; Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole; former minister of state for Foreign Affairs Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong; Vanguard publisher Sam Amuka-Pemu; and Malam Ismaila Isa.

Also in attendance were representatives of governors of Gombe, Niger, Zamfara and Jigawa states, as well as of Speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Tambuwal.

Academic Abubakar Siddiq Mohammed and a representative of the Information minister presented papers on the theme of the dialogue. Two other paper presenters scheduled for the event did not make it, namely Rageh Omar of Al Jazeera and Fred M’membe of Zambian newspaper the Post.

FROM HIS SPEECH 3 THINGS ARE CERTAIN :

1. THERE WOULD BE NO SNC WITHOUT VIOLENCE / MILITARY INTERVENTION IN OTHER WORDS SHOULD THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION CONSIDER SNC AS AN OPTION THEY WOULD BE TOPPLED IMMEDIATELY BY THE MILITARY  . THINK OF IT ! WAS USE OF THE WORD "KHAKI" NECESSARY ? I MEAN WHY NOT "ROUND TABLE DIALOGUE" LIKE THEY SAY WE SHOULD DO WITH THE BOKO HARAM GUYS ?? HE IS JUST TRYING TO TELL US THAT THE MILITARY STILL MAKE THE MOST POWERFUL DECISIONS IN THE COUNTRY
so nobody will talk to me about secession or breaking away, get my tailor to take my measurement, get on my khaki and go back to fight a war to keep this country together
2. COUP SMELLS IN THE AIR . WE ALL KNOW THESE PEOPLE FUND COUPS FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL INTEREST.

Some people are saying that should anything happen to President Jonathan, forget about Nigeria, and so on. I have seen a lot of these. I know those who are saying this. Yes, they are supporters of the president. But I know the president is a sensible person, so don’t waste your time saying that the world would come to an end if something happens to our son. Of course, he is our president and he is your son. He is our president
3. HIS KHAKI STATEMENT SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE CURRENT STATE OF THE COUNTRY , THE MILITARY STILL HOLDS THE COUNTRY BY THE BALLS AND THEY ARE THE ONES WHO WOULD DETERMINE WHO FORCEFULLY STAYS REGARDLESS OF A PEACEFUL REQUEST FOR A SNC / SECESSION .

get on my khaki and go back to fight a war to keep this country together
Add the two quotes together and you would find out that what he is saying is simple : SHOULD ANY REGION OF NIGERIA HIJACK POWER EITHER THROUGH SYSTEMATIC "IMPEACHMENT" OR COUP , THE OTHER REGIONS SHOULDN'T COMPLAIN OR FEEL BITTER / ASK FOR SNC OR SECESSION BECAUSE ACCORDING TO HIM GEJ IS "OUR SON AND OUR PRESIDENT " SO ONE OF "THEIR OUR SONS" CAN BE USED TO REPLACE "YOUR SON " WHO IS THE PRESIDENT NOW . hmmm 2012 keeps looking like the season finale of the Nigerian series .

PoliticsRe: Borno Elders Warn Jonathan On Security Pact With Us by seenoevil1: 11:21pm On Jan 24, 2012
tyson55:
In another development, Borno Elders and Leaders of Thought (BELT), on Monday, called on the Federal Government to urgently initiate a genuine process of dialogue as soon as possible with the Boko Haram sect, because the security situation in the country is worsening with the continued serial killings and bombings that claimed over 450 lives this month alone.

The elders and leaders of thought also warned President Goodluck Jonathan against a defence pact and security surveillance with the United States in protecting the country against terrorism.

The calls and warnings were made in a press statement signed by an elder statesman and former Minister for Steel and Petroleum Resources in the First Republic, Alhaji Shettima Ali Monguno, and made available to newsmen in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The statement read: "It is only when the real sect embraces peace that we shall identify those who are hijacking the process of violence to pursue their criminal agenda," adding that the people of Borno were never known for aggression against other ethnic or religious groups, "while the compatriots from other parts of the country that live with us could bear witness."

On the dangers of defence pact with the US, Monguno, in the statement said: "it is unconstitutional to deploy foreign troops in Nigeria; it would certainly be to the detriment of Nigeria to do so. Let our own forces truthfully, sincerely, humanly handle our security challenges.

"They should be told that human life, moreso of the innocent, is sacred and the cry of the blood of the innocent is an additional doom for the country."

The statement further said: "To the best of our knowledge Nigeria has never entered a defence pact with any nation. Nigeria does not need any defence pact, to protect her. Our Armed Forces and the police, who did serve wonderfully well in various peacekeeping operations, are very much capable of protecting our country.

"If they are sincere and truthful in discharging their responsibilities, we have no doubt in our minds that they can effectively handle any situation confronting the nation. Unfortunately, their rules of engagement seem to give them away. They seem to be losing the love, confidence and support of the people, because of the way and manner they execute their operations, i.e. the amount of killings either by hanging, starving and or shooting of innocent citizens in the so-called interrogation centres."
But it is constitutional for terrorists to kill 100's of innocent Nigerians right ?. These guys are all terrorists and i suggest ALL NORTHERN LEADERS should be brought in for questioning IMMEDIATELY and there should be 24hrs surveillance on this bas-Tards . THEY KNOW MORE THAN THEY PRETEND TO KNOW. Anyone who suggests that the FG should negotiate with terrorists should be interrogated and if found guilty he should be killed in broad daylight IMMEDIATELY to prevent another so called "escape" . It might sound barbaric but killing 100's of people is also barbaric , right now jungle justice should prevail . That's the order of the day . Constitution my foot , We are in a war now and the constitution plays NO PART in a war . its time to ANNIHILATE THIS BAS-TARDS

How much would it cost to build an electric border fence with high voltage electricity passing through the fence ?

1.A fence that should be about 30 feet tall and has VERY sharp spiked edges at the top and at the bottom ? and at our end of the border

2.mount 4 watch tower with 4 security officials / watchmen , THEY MUST BE FROM  NEUTRAL TRIBES OR A COALITION OF INTERNATIONAL SECURITY AGENTS AND NIGERIAN MILITARY MEN  (Yoruba , Igbo , Hausa , Efik / Ijaw heck if Nigerians are incompetent then we could even bring in Marines if it gets to that ) heavily armed with sniper rifles and binoculars , place this watch towers FAR away from the border yet in a strategic spot so they can still clearly view the border , This is important because mounting the watch towers close to the border would give the terrorists the chance to fire their rocket launchers at the watch towers .

3.A total of  8 watchmen  , 4 in the morning shift and the remaining 4 in the night shift WITH POWERFUL LONG RANGE SNIPER RIFLES and Binoculars mounting each of the 4 towers, THEY MUST BE FROM NEUTRAL TRIBES OR A COALITION OF INTERNATIONAL SECURITY AGENTS AND NIGERIAN MILITARY MEN  (Yoruba , Igbo , Hausa , Efik / Ijaw heck if Nigerians are incompetent then we could even bring in Marines if it gets to that ).

3. Mount a light house that surveys the area day and night like the light house the coast guards at the Spanish - Moroccan borders use .

4. LOTS of Miniature CCTV hidden at strategic locations . Very little yet powerful CCTV on both sides of the border .

This wouldn't totally solve the problem BUT it would DRASTICALLY reduce the problem and if any attacks come on the Border towers / security men then we can be sure that the attack was carried out by INSIDERS / NIGERIANS
