When i saw this article i felt worried and i had to call a relative who trades within that Axis and he told me over the phone that the move was one initiated by the government to clear up the bridge and aid free flow of transportation and that it was given to all traders both Igbo's , hausa's and yoruba's. So Nigerians i beg you people stop it with all this smear campaign , if any of you here think by spreading this false rumour , you can start another "abandoned property" saga like the one that happened during the Biafran war you better think again because that was the 60's and things have totally changed now . You are better off getting a day job than spreading false rumours just so you can grab other people's property . |
Na wa Oh , is this thread still going on ? right now this silly "prettiest soldier" thread has 219 posts while the more reasonable thread on the casualty figure exceeding 100 in kano bomb attack has barely 80 posts . Na wa Oh . Besides why is this "prettiest soldier" thread on the Politics segment ? |
Onyii.p:UNADULTERATED KNOWLEDGE . ![]() |
Ayo-olu12:well like we always say "prevention is better than cure" . would you rather A: Wait for the attacks to come down south and result to lose of lives (as we all know the south is ALWAYS CROWDED and over populated) or B: Wake up from your slumber , stop being delusional about "fixing or saving " this fraud called Nigeria and take cautionary measures which would be forcefully advocating for a SNC thereby preventing any terrorist attacks down south . sheyguy:WHAT AGREEMENT EXACTLY ? do you have the signed papers of this "closed door" agreement ? As far as i am concerned if a 10 year old child comes out as a presidential candidate in Nigeria and he wins the election , whether it seems right or not HE IS MUST PICK UP THE MANTLE AND LEAD THE NATION . Simple as that ! i don't know what agreement you are talking about here . Last time i checked M.K.O won an election out rightly no agreements or anything and was deprived his right to lead the country by this same people who believe they are "born to rule " but the supporters of M.K.O didn't go around BOMBING THE WHOLE PLACE OR DID THEY ?. So don't go defending or justifying them because when other people start carrying out their own actions you should also be ready to defend them . NOBODY HAS THE MONOPOLY OF VIOLENCE . DEM NO DEY GO SCHOOL GO LEARN HOW TO CAUSE WAHALA |
sheyguy:You are a stupid nincompoop . What gentle man agreement is more than the VOTE of the populace and the Nigerian people? Are you insinuating that behind the scene "GENTLEMAN" agreement is what we should abide by in this country and not elections ?. So are you justifying the killings and mass bombings that has been going on since 2011/2012 ? You are a big f00l and you should do a paternity test as i believe a gorilla was the one that humped yo mama , no offense . but you sound like a gorilla behind a PC |
Akwasi:My brother in 1966 we tried to do the right thing but some Nigerians failed to look into the future and today sadly most people are reaping the dividends . Akwasi:Hmmm thank heavens you noticed the "trend" is moving down south but as usual Nigerians would remain delusional and hope everything fixes it self in this hell hole called Nigeria . Whats the point in preserving a piece of meat (Nigeria) thats totally decayed with flies and maggots all over it ? |
vladimiros:Keep shut maga like you . In case you don't know he is among the cabals and thieves we have in Nigeria . Dey dia dey talk say its his money while you dey suffer. |
TOO late . Jerry rawlings was ACTUALLY the "Ghanian" Nzeogwu we can't have it the other way round , so in other words Ghana got the clone and we Nigerians had the Original but instead out of hatred and tribalism and failure to see into the future we killed ours while Ghana made theirs an Icon . Simple . NIGERIA= Nepotism , Ignorance , Greed , Envy , Resentment , insidiousness hmmmmm find a word that starts with A but is negative and fill in the A missing to complete NIGERIA. |
Dr. Akinwunmi Ayo Adesina Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural ResourcesMinistry of aviation should be under MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT. after all aeroplanes are for transportation . Ministry of trade and investment should be under MINISTRY OF FINANCE , trade and investment all belong in the financial sector . According to wikipedia the Ministry of Interior conducts international relations and duties relating to Nigerians abroad . IS THIS NOT THE SAME AS MINISTRY OF FOREGIN AFFAIRS ![]() Ministry of Mines and steel and petroleum should ALL be under NATURAL RESOURCES because steel and petroleum are natural resources . Why did the FG have to break the ministry of lands and urban development away from the ministry of works when according to wikipedia they DO THE EXACT SAME THING ? What on earth is the job of the Minister of special duties (what is that ??) and the minister of youth development lol . We already have NDDC why should we have Ministry of Niger delta affairs , not 1 but 2 !! and what EXACTLY is their job We need only one ministry each for health , foreign affairs , education I believe under 5minutes i have been able to reduce the amount of ministries in Nigeria thereby cutting the expenditure of the Government . Enough of this long list of ministers crap , its stupid and embarrassing. |
Henry120:na im we no fit catch ordinary almajiri boko haram dem abi ? everyday SSS , Nigerian army and boko haram they play boju boju and police and thief , catch me today , i escape tomorrow . |

Police tear-gas Nwabueze, Braithwaite, Kalu, others A PEACEFUL march – to call for troops withdrawal and respect for citizens’ rights – by respected elders and prominent citizens was smashed yesterday in Lagos. They held one another’s hands, railing against the system, their protest sparked by the January 1 withdrawal of fuel subsidy that sent petrol prices rising from N65 to N139. Labour and the civil society rose against the policy, calling for a strike that lasted more than one week. The government sent in troops. The police disrupted the procession at Ojota, Lagos Manland. The protesters, under the aegis of the National Action Coalition (NACO), left the Lagos State House of Assembly, where they dropped their protest letter, for the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, scene of the five-day massive protest against petrol subsidy removal. They were led by the leader of the Nigerian Advanced Party (NAP), Dr Tunji Braithwaite, 76. In the crowd were the foremost legal scholar and member of Presidential Advisory Committee, 79-year-old Prof. Ben Nwabueze (SAN), former Finance Minister Dr Kalu Idika Kalu and rights activist Dr. Tunji Abayomi. There were also foremost essayist Prof. Adebayo Williams, Arewa Youth Consultative Council leader Shettima Yerima, Lagos lawyer Festus Keyamo, Islamic cleric Abdulraham Hammad, Dr. Lakin Akintola, Nike Ransom-Kuti, Funmi Iyanda, Wale Okunniyi, Yemi Adamolekun, Kola Oyeneyin, Prof. Tony Kila, Mr. Wale Ogunade and Dr Wale Balogun. As the police smashed the march, they also threatened to arrest the elderstatesmen. Amid the confusion, a protester, Mr. Nelson Ekunjimi, who teaches at the Lagos State University, Ojo, fainted. He was revived five minutes after. Before the procession left the Assembly Complex, Deputy Commissioner of Police Tunde Sobulo, implored them to shelve protesting at the park, warning that policemen would deal ruthlessly with them. Braithwaite objected to his suggestion, stressing that the law is not against street protests. The eminent lawyer said: “We are in a peaceful rally. As a policeman, you can come and protect us.” Sobulo ignored him. As the protesters proceeded, more people joined them along the long road. Youths in the crowd enjoined the elders to drive in their vehicles to stem the stress of the long trek. The protesters, numbering about 200, carried various placards, with inscriptions decrying troops deployment, singing anti-government songs. Some of the placards read: “We are not at war. Send your soldiers back to the barracks”; “All we want is N65 per litre and nothing more”; “Goodluck N65, Badluck N97”; and “Be responsible to those you are supposed to serve”. The protesters had not got to the park when they were abruptly stopped by policemen at the Seven-Up Junction, a stone throw to the late Kudirat Abiola’s statute. The police had barricaded the road before they arrived at the junction. As they advanced to the junction, the police warned them to retreat, threatening to disperse them. As the protesters made spirited attempts to explain that the rally would be peaceful, the police fired tear gas at them. In a statement, NACO condemned the assault on the eminent Nigerians, describing it as unprovoked, barbaric, undemocratic and uncivilised. At the House of Assembly, where they were received by the Deputy Speaker Kolawole Taiwo, the NACO leader, Braithwaite, said the petrol subsidy crisis had not been resolved, contrary to the impression given by the Federal Government. He said the challenges confronting the country were beyond fuel price hike, stressing that insecurity, corruption, and lack of peoples’ constitution portend greater danger. Chiding President Goodluck Jonathan for deploying troops in Lagos, Braithwaite said: “We completely reject the deployment of soldiers in the streets. The nation is not at war. The military must not be used to intimidate Nigerians. The Armed Forces belong to us”. Former Education Secretary Nwabueze said: “This is the beginning of revolution and the move by the people to rid the country of corrupt elements, even though the leaders are scared of using the world revolution. “We want to curb the country of all its rottenness. Every aspect of the administration of this country is rotten and we cannot continue with it. I thought labour was leading the civil society, but what they did without consultation meant that they had compromised us. But let me say that what they did was not a disappointment, but anger that should galvanise us all to action.” Nwabueze reiterated his call for a Sovereign National Conference, warning that if the government refused to convoke it, Nigerians would take their destiny in their hands. He said: “We shall demand for a Sovereign National Conference within a specified time. If they fail to convene it, we will do it ourselves.” The deputy speaker expressed the support of the House for the rally against the deployment of soldiers, saying that it had also decried it in strong terms. Urging the President to withdraw the soldiers, Kolawole said: “We are not under military rule.” Lagos State Police spokesman Samuel Jinadu defended the tear gasing of the elder statesmen. He said the police resisted them because protest was banned in the country after the strike action by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to protest the removal of petrol subsidy. He said, “They were not supposed to carry out any protest, in the first place, they did not apply to us to carry out any protest, so they are not allowed to do so. We had to stop them because they were breaking the law.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIS IS WHY I LOVE MR BEN NWABUEZE . Tension over 61 Hausa youths in Ibadan • Residents claimed they were Boko Haram • They are not Boko Haram - Police http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/34223-tension-over-61-hausa-youths-in-ibadan--residents-claimed-they-were-boko-haram--they-are-not-boko-haram-police THERE was a heightening of the tension in Ibadan Tuesday night, following the discovery of 61 Hausa men concealed in a van. The fear of Boko Haram made those who discovered them raised the alarm which attracted attention. The suspects were arrested at Olusanya, Ring Road by some protesters during the ongoing nationwide strike. Nigerian Tribune learnt, on Wednesday, that the suspects were loaded in a van with registration number YB 232 KLT (Gombe). An eyewitness told the Nigerian Tribune that the suspects were led by some people inside a Black Jeep. On getting to Olusanya, the occupants of the Jeep were said to have opened fire to scare away the protesters. But the protesters were adamant as they blocked the vehicle which conveyed the suspects. The driver of the van, it was gathered, initially told the protesters that there was no one in the bus. When the protesters forced the door of the vehicle open, they discovered 61 young man who were from the northern part of the country. One of them, Shehu Maida, who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune, said they were coming from Benin and they were on their way to Gombe State. Maida who claimed to be a pepper seller at Sasa, Ibadan, Oyo State, said that he met them at Ogere, Ogun State and that he was only trying to assist them. According to him, the suspects were coming from Benin but suspects did not the know the road to Gombe. “I have my business in Ibadan. I don’t know them and they don’t know me. They are coming from Benin on their way to Gombe State,” he said. Nigerian Tribune learnt that the prompt arrival of policemen saved the situation as the protesters threatened to attack them. They were, however, taken to Orita Challenge Police Division for interrogation. But in a swift reaction, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Femi Okanlawon, said that those arrested were not Boko Haram. He confirmed that only 46 of the Hausa people were arrested and that they were only trying to escape from the troubled Benin. “There is no Boko Haram in Oyo State, those allegedly arrested by the hoodlums fled from Benin as a result of the religions crisis in Benin. They are trying to flee,” he said. Meanwhile, as the nationwide strike declared by Nigeria Labour Congress enters its third day, policemen in Oyo State have arrested some hoodlums for allegedly hijacking the protest. The PPRO told the Nigerian Tribune that some of the hoodlums who attempted to burn two police stations in the state capital had been arrested. He confirmed that the miscreants had on Monday vandalised NEPA installations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hmmm why did the driver say there was no one in the back of the bus but when the protesters opened the bus they found 61 people there ? why hide them in the first place ? How is it possible that you don't know the road BACK to your place / state , Hmmm, smells fishy if you ask me , The story just doesn't add up . |
Okay like a REAL MAN who doesn't shy away from answering questions thrown at me , I would go ahead and answer your questions: Abia state = Oil / Gas / Agriculture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abia_State Imo state = Oil / Gas / Rubber / Palm oil / Zinc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imo_State Anambra state = Oil / Gas / Ceramic / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anambra_State Enugu = Limestone , Coal (One of the biggest coal reserves in Africa , FYI in the winter the western world's demand for coal is always VERY high and that means lots of export $$$) , iron ore , palm oil , cash crops. Ebonyi = Fertile land , cash crops so the south east contributes its quota to the Oil and Agriculture to Nigeria . This two sectors are responsible for 40% GDP / 80% government revenue (Oil) and 32.7% GDP (Agriculture) . So me i don answer my own finish . OYA YORUBA WETIN UNA DEY CONTRIBUTE FOR NIGERIA ?? AND DON'T TELL ME ITS OIL,OIL SOUP (Yoruba ) |
