abouzaid: Gej is the most divisive and tribalistic president in our history. He won the election on tribal sentiment, turned the protests into a tribal issue by making meaningless reference to the civil war and indirectly accusing the northern muslims in his government of being members of boko haram. Clearly in order to prevent a youth revolution organised through social media, he had paid goons to spread the message of tribalism and division on nairaland and other websites frequented by nigerian youths. How ever when the chips are down, the south east and south south(the old east) will be the ultimate losers. They have shot themselves in the leg this time, come 2015,them too will learn that rotational presidency does not exist in the nigerian constitution, meaning that every region have an equal chance then,we would vote out pdp with their igbo candidate and that would teach them a lesson on the results of betraying the nation. The east would remain third class citizens till the next 12yrs. Ụmụ anụ ọfịa nwuru anwụ na aga ije. A nation of fools. OYA now come collect power make we see . In case you don't know . 2015 IS A FALLACY it doesn't exist because before then this hell hole called Nigerian would have split up and it would be soo bad for you aboki's and Yoruba people that you would beg somalia of all people for food . Una never know anything . Abouzaid , Abou your papa . Nigeria is standing on one toe on a slippery slope and if anybody try impeach or assassinate GEJ . CALL FOR A SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE AND GIVE EVERYONE THE CHANCE TO EITHER CONTINUE IN NIGERIA OR TO LEAVE . AT MOST THIS WOULD RESULT TO WEST AFRICA GIVING BIRTH TO 2 NEW PROSPEROUS NATIONS AND 2 NEW POOR "SOMALIA CLONE" NATIONS. |

PointB: ^^ Lol @ see*Noevil Jmaine is not one of them. He understand the time we are in.
the most worrying dimension of the cheap oil is the Nigeria will soon run out of oil without any meaningful development of the Niger Delta. Yet some goons want it for free! noblezone: One basic fact is this:
The complete deregulation of the dwon stream sector of the petroleum industry is one sure way of fighting corruption and moving Nigeria forward.
It is obvious that majority of Nigerians are poor in thoughts and lazy in mind.
If Mr. President wants to move Nigeria forward, then I can bet you that he won't go back on the deregulation and if "Nigerians" are decieved into believing that the increase in pump price is to repress them, then there is really no hope for Nigeria.
I am still insisting that Nigeria is not working. Those that want free oil will never give Jonathan a chance to deregulate. And if the South South and the South East know what they are doing, they can forget the past, come together and demand for true federalism, resource control or outright seperation from the fraud called Nigeria.
Those who think they "own" Nigeria can wake up one day to discover that there is no Nigeria let alone "free oil". More blessing to your lives Point B and Noblezone . Indeed The south south and south east has finally seen the light . |
A chieftain of the Oyo State Action Congress (AC), Chief Femi Lanlehin, has regretted his support for the second term of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Lanlehin, a governorship aspirant in 2011 election noted that he and other Yoruba leaders who worked for Obasanjo’s presidency, did so in the interest of the Yoruba race.
But he regretted that they were disappointed in the end by the abysmal performance of the former President.
Addressing reporters at the premises of the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Iyaganku, Ibadan, the politician, who dumped the Alliance for Democracy (AD) for the ruling party in 2007 to work for Obasanjo, decried the former President’s style of governance.

Politics › Acn Decries Sectionalisation Of Subsidy Removal . by seenoevil1(op): 9:42am On Jan 16, 2012 |

The Action Congress of Nigeria has said it is “mortally concerned” that the ongoing fuel subsidy issue is increasingly being turned to a sectional matter.
It said this had raised concern about the agenda being pursued by President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party with the so-called fuel subsidy removal.
In a statement in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said, “Going by the myriad of newspaper advertisements placed in recent times by several Ijaw and South-South groups and the inflammatory rhetoric spewing out of the mouth of respected leaders in the region, there may be a hidden agenda in some quarters to push the country to the brink, or even bring the house crashing down on all, as we have warned earlier.”
It said the increasing attack on other geo-political zones and ethnic groups as well as individual politicians by these apparently-sponsored adverts, simply because Nigerians had said ‘no’ to what they considered an insensitive and oppressive fuel subsidy removal, “shows what can happen when a leader, through sheer ineptness and unfathomable headiness, fails to consider the socio-political impact of what he perceives merely as an economic policy.”
ACN said it was nothing short of a monumental insult for any person or group to infer that the spontaneous and unprecedented nation-wide mass action that had greeted the removal of fuel subsidy was being sponsored by the so-called failed politicians, or for any person or group to make such an irresponsible statement that the bulk of the fuel subsidy was consumed in Lagos, even when it was clear that Lagos was home to people of all ethnic groups.
The party said one of the groups even said it would not mind if the fuel subsidy removal – which it (the group) supports by the way – ends up making President Jonathan the last President of a united Nigeria.
“Imagine, for a moment, that this inflammatory and inciting statement had been made by a group other than the one from the South-South! Those behind such group would by now have been threatened with treason that is if they have not yet been arrested. Yet, this is the kind of rhetoric that these South-South groups have been ditshing out since the fuel protests started, and the Presidency has not deemed it necessary to distance itself from such dead-enders or to repudiate them,” the ACN added.
‘’Suddenly, a President that was purportedly given a pan-Nigeria mandate only a few months back is now being made to look more and more like a South-South President, who must be ‘protected’ by his ‘supporters and kinsmen’ against failed politicians from the other regions, forgetting that the same President won the last election because of the support of the other regions that are now been demonized.
‘’Progressively but sadly, the Jonathan Presidency is being defined as a South-South Presidency by those who have failed to see that the mess the country has been thrown into under his watch – over the fuel subsidy and the Boko Haram issues – is a fallout of a leadership that has lied to and cheated its people on the subsidy issue, and a presidency that has allowed the Boko Haram issue to fester for too long without a decisive and creative initiative to nip it in the bud.
Simply put, Nigerians feel betrayed by this President by the way he has handled these issues, hence he has lost their trust and confidence. This is neither a South-South Vs the rest of the regions issue, or the result of an incitement by imagined enemies,’’ ACN said.
The party reiterated its earlier call on all people of goodwill, including former leaders acting together, to call President Jonathan to order before he allows those who have other agenda, or those who are championing neo-colonial interests, to doom his presidency and push the country into perdition.
It advised President Jonathan that in a democracy, the people are supreme and their voices and opinions must matter on every issue, more than the self-serving postulations of a benevolent few who happened to have found themselves in government.
Where was this hypocrite LIAR mohammed with his disgusting , dirty , foul mouth when the OPC were defending Obasanjo ? where was he when the Hausa/ Fulani said if a core northerner is not the president come 2011 that the country would be come ungovernable ? emmydee: how does occupying oil platforms become a ploy to separate Nigeria ethnically? Boko haram is killing Nigerians en mass, u guys should read in between the lines to know who is working harder for the separation of this ungodly marriage. My brother don't mind these tribalistic fools who jump on everything and change it to tribal issues . The Occupy Nigeria protest has been hijacked by fraudsters , Power hungry lunatics and hypocrites . The initial aim of this protest was to reduce the price of fuel and now all of a sudden "people" are screaming for assassination and impeachment INSTEAD of providing solutions . Ben Bruce who brought up a great idea has been pushed aside and the ones in the front of the protest are now those who stretch their hands to the air when they see government helicopters and ask the crowd to pray that the helicopter crashes (believe it or not a pastor in the occupy protest did this , I am sure you know him) .
INSTEAD of providing a SOLUTION This pastor asked Nigerians to pray that GEJ dies , This same pastor asked for impeachment , This same pastor has been using the word "fools" to describe the Nigerian people for their failure to revolt when Christians are NOT SUPPOSED TO call people fools Matthew 5:22 .
the other day journalists asked el-rufai for his own idea and solutions regarding Boko haram and the fuel subsidy and El rufai's answer was "IF NIGERIAN'S KNEW THEY WOULDN'T HAVE VOTED FOR GOODLUCK" ? How is that a solution ? The boko haram menace that has KILLED FAR MORE THAN 1000 people since it started and each of the dead have families or children who are now orphans and people have no sympathy or remorse for them rather they use them to score political points . i am a christian and from what i understand in the bible it preaches that we should ask for a change of heart for our leaders . Shadrach , Meshach and Abednego didn't pray for the death of Nebuchadnezzar , David did not pray for the death of saul when saul chased after his life , Joseph did not pray for the death of Potiphar or his wife , The 12 disciples who went through tribulations didn't not pray for the death or those who tortured and killed them . I am not a pastor YET i know these things , Please someone should remind this Pastor-tician the teachings of the bible . He is becoming a disgrace to Christianity |

Subsidy Protest: Yoruba Youth Group Slams Falana, Bakare, Kwami, Others Over
A Yoruba youth group, the Yoruba Youths Consultative Forum (YYCF) has described the involvement of people like Lagos lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Vice Presidential candidate in the last April election, Pastor Tunde Bakare, CPC Spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin, Prof Itse Sagay, King Wasiu Ayinde Mashall (KWAM1) and other rights activists in the ongoing protest against the removal of oil subsidy, describing them as “bunch of hypocrites.”
The group also called on President Goodluck Jonathan to listen to the voice of the people, who elected them, saying; “If the people was right in electing him, they can’t now be wrong in telling him that they don’t want to be inflicted with additional hardships, which the removal of oil subsidy has brought on them since January 1. YYCF, in a statement signed by its Director of Communications, Mr. Ayo Olorunsola said it was an insult on the collective intellects of Nigerians that people, who Nigerians should be protesting against are the ones presenting themselves as friends of the masses. The group said those seeking to make political capital out of the protest are the real enemies of Nigeria, adding that; “President Goodluck Jonathan and all the 36 States governors are responsible for the pain inflicted on Nigerians with the oil subsidy removal, hence no political party should play saint on the matter.” “It is our position that on this Oil Subsidy issue, Nigerians are being deceived and taken for a ride again. “The deceivers are those we saw on the podium, addressing protesters in Lagos yesterday and today, pretending to be friends of the masses. Those who lost elections and are in search of political leverage in preparation for 2015 elections cannot be through friends of the masses on this issue of fuel subsidy. “People like Falana, Bakare, Odumakin, Sagay, Bola Tinubu, KWAM1 etc, who kept criminal silent when Lagosians were protesting against the Lekki Toll Gate, 700 percent increment of Lagos State University (LASU) fees, daylight rigging of Lagos Local Government elections etc do not have any moral rights to be leading protest against removal of oil subsidy. “In actual fact, these people should be among the people Nigerians should be protesting against because they are bunch hypocrites,” the group said.

Thats the EXACT same way i feel about this whole Occupy protest . There are some genuine protesters out there BUT those who make the loudest noise in this protest are basically trying to score cheap political points and trying to take the attention of the public off their Toll gates, Increased University Tuition etc |
