European and American men definitely do not. they're too polite sef. and even if a small percentage do, it's nothing compared to African men and AA men who are mostly unrefined. so plz learn accordingly.

If you study a STEM program (of which Petroleum Engr is one) in the US, you are entitled to an Optional practical training of 29 months on your F1 status, during which you can work for a US employer. Before the end of this period you will have to apply for an H1B status working permit or permanent residence. Getting the job itself would would depend on the state of the economy, your qualifications and your job targets. I expect the job market to be more favorable in 2yrs time.

Getting a degree on a scholarship should be preferable to getting it on your own bill. The one thing I would worry about if going to TU Delft is the language barrier, as I am terrible with languages. http://www.delta.tudelft.nl/en/archive/article/-hit-me-with-your-english-stick/20107
Yeah but the problem with the STEM program is that you need to first find a job before you can actually use the first year of your OPT-12 months and then apply for an extension- additional 17months. Getting a job in the US with a masters degree and a Nigerian undergraduate degree is not easy from what I have seen in this economy (I expect someone to bring an example of their friend who got a job under such a scenario- but exceptions do not overthrow a law). However, in Europe- Amsterdam/London specifically, it is very possible for someone with an engineering degree to apply and get a job and process his work visa.

Furthermore, H1-B has a quota and so its not really guaranteed that he would be given the H1-B after he completes his degree and obtains a job. Yes he can file for the H1-B twice, by using the OPT if for the first time he is placed in the backlog and then filing a second time though.

Why I am skeptical about commenting on the job opportunities in America, is because I am not totally unfamiliar with how engineering hiring works. If it was for other fields such as banking/consulting I could be more vocal. Like its now harder for international students to get jobs in such industries now because of a bad economy than previously. So my skepticism about jobs in other sectors most especially the technology sector.

Now this is a sensible comment from a sensible person
yeah, I have noticed a lot that Chiogo seems to be one of the most perspicacious and calmest person on NL. And this isn't one of my jokes, she just seems too mature. I used to think she was faking it though but seems to be in her character. Don't worry chiogo, if I fall sick (STD probably) you would be the first I  would call.

You just said you were poor.  Grin So, how come they were still abusing you?
All of you na the same jare. Dunno how to talk.
LOL, anyways I am not one of those people who randomly start talking to girls anyways and ask for numbers. I am the quiet studious type- I just like book more than women tongue

I dont get hot and bothered about any girl.

My Motto: No Chick can give me stress especially when she is worthless

But what I am saying is true, most of these girls are just after money. They are abusing the OP because the OP is broke/money if he is lagos I am sure. The guy should come prepared before he hits on any girl. If they are the naija girls in London, the boy is on his own grin

Some guys r just annoying sha. . . Undecided u need 2 know your class menh some of dem no dey look face at all u may have just not been in a good mood. . . Sad if i gurl blanks u 1once,2nd don't wait 2 the third tyme ooo hm!
I thot third time was the charm?

Recharge card indeed. Did high school kids in naija use cell phones then?  you can lie sha  Tongue
I don't even have a problem with the toasting and what not, I just laugh it off plus I'm pretty good at ignoring annoying people. Just don't touch me.
Is that so hard? sigh.
Well yeah we did, infact I was commandeering like three at that time. I was a big boy, before someone else got 4 phones and a thuraya. Those were the days of Nokia and Thuraya. Infact you can use cell phone to hypnotize Nigerian girl into your room.

I don't even have a problem with the toasting and what not, I just laugh it off plus I'm pretty good at ignoring annoying people. Just don't touch me.
Well men have the tendency to grab so its not our fault.

Except, the large majority of these girls are not beyonces - they are slum monkeys.
A hoodrat expecting a yahooze boy to court her like a CEO is simply way over her head and living fantasies she's seen on TV.
I added a qualifier for you mate. There you go.

LOL @ People tryna defend this obvious inherent behavior.

It's not even about the "toasting" or what not. Of course, it's very easy to ignore and keep walking if it were just words. But they just can't keep their hands to themselves.
Grabbing and what not, like seriously get a life.
Its called Grab & Go.

Back to topic
For those of us who attended secondaries school in lagos and know the he.ll naija girls put us through can understand the OP feeling. Man you say Hi to a girl, she frowns at you, then she measures you up. If you are not rich enough to buy her MTN/GLO recharge card or you don't have the latest phones she will not talk to you. Infact, I used to wonder how these girls expected a secondary school kid between the age of 15-18 to be able to buy recharge card for them. Then if you were a poor boy like me, and you try and talk to these girls they would abuse you for no reason. Or they would just ignore you.

And most of them were poor girls too. How can a poor girl  be a snob? shocked.

How can you come as a friend if that guy is meeting you for the first time, say at the supermarket?
Sorry, I don't do supermarket love.
Shakara, when you clock 30-40 you will start supermarket love. Time is no respecter of anyone.
